Penglipuran Tourism Village, renowned for its cultural authenticity and environmental cleanliness, has experienced substantial growth in tourist arrivals, which has led to environmental pressures and overcrowding in its core area. In response, the development of the Bamboo Forest as a supporting attraction has emerged as a strategic initiative to disperse visitor concentration and promote sustainable tourism. This study aims to examine the development concept of the Bamboo Forest through a qualitative descriptive approach, employing in-depth interviews with local stakeholders, including tourism managers and community leaders. The findings reveal that the Bamboo Forest, spanning 45 hectares, serves multiple ecological and cultural functions, such as groundwater conservation, disaster mitigation, and the preservation of local traditions. Since 2023, the site has been revitalized with ecotourism-based infrastructure, including bamboo pathways, cultural performance spaces, a traditional market, and the Bamboo Caffe, all of which integrate local resources and community participation. Development efforts are aligned with key tourism components: attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services, while adhering to sustainable tourism principles: something to see, something to do, and something to buy. The project has not only enhanced the visitor experience but also generated significant economic benefits, contributing to community welfare. Overall, the integration of environmental, economic, and socio-cultural aspects in the Bamboo Forest development exemplifies a holistic approach to sustainable tourism in rural destinations.

Sri Mersing Beach is a beach located in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra, which has a tourist destination with great potential because of its natural beauty, white sand, and local wisdom that is still preserved. This study aims to identify supporting factors in the development of the Sri Mersing beach tourism area through a qualitative approach, with data collection methods in the form of literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the development of Sri Mersing Beach is influenced by five main aspects, namely attractions, accessibility, facilities (amenities), institutions (ancillary), and hospitality. The presence of appropriate infrastructure, biodiversity, and active participation of local communities will provide important capital for the development of sustainable tourism. However, several challenges such as improving the quality of road access and optimizing agency management must continue to be addressed. This recommends joint and sustainable management to maintain a balance between environmental protection and local economic growth.

This study aims to identify the potential of Watu Karung Beach based on the 4A elements of tourism: Attraction, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancillary services. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, utilizing literature review, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that Watu Karung Beach possesses strong potential in terms of natural attraction and tourism activities. However, supporting facilities and ancillary services remain limited and require further development to enhance visitor comfort and the destination’s competitiveness. This study aims to assess how the development and tourism potential of Parepare City are perceived by the local community. Using a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative), this research analyzes five main components (A5): Attraction, Amenities, Ancillary Services, Activities, and Accessibility, utilizing the Weighted Analysis technique (Likert Scale) to provide a structured evaluation. The findings indicate that public perceptions of tourism development vary. Artificial attractions received high ratings and are considered a key strength. Regarding amenities, the availability of places of worship was rated as the most adequate. However, in ancillary services, facilities such as clean water, electricity, and culinary services still require improvement. In terms of activities, events like festivals and recreational activities were deemed to be suboptimal in terms of implementation, management, and the involvement of local SMEs. Meanwhile, in the accessibility component, institutions such as Pokdarwis have not been effectively implemented. Therefore, a development strategy is needed that actively involves the community through training and empowerment, as well as continuous support from the government. Infrastructure improvement and regular evaluations are essential steps to enhance tourist interest in visiting Parepare City.
