Self-development is a crucial competence for navigating the professional world; however, many individuals face significant barriers in optimizing this potential. This study aims to formulate an integrative model of Quranic Tadabur and bibliotherapy as a professional therapeutic intervention in counseling, addressing gaps in existing literature. Using a library research method with content analysis, the findings indicate that Quranic Tadabur effectively enhances essential self-development skills, including self-awareness, work motivation, problem-solving, time management, emotional regulation, critical and creative thinking, and social collaboration. Within the bibliotherapy framework, the self-development process is structured through stages of motivation, incubation, follow-up, and evaluation. Furthermore, several counseling techniques are proposed, such as self-management, minimal contact, counselor-led management, and directed counseling, to support individual growth. This integrative approach highlights the role of spirituality in fostering holistic personal and professional development. The study contributes theoretically to the advancement of spirituality-based counseling models, particularly in the context of modern career development, and offers a conceptual foundation for future empirical research.

This study aims to analyze the evolution of Islamic civilization within the cultural landscape of Southeast Asia through a comparative study between Indonesia and Patani, Thailand. The research employs a qualitative approach with a comparative case study design based on literature review, examining the historical, social, cultural, and political developments of both regions. The findings reveal that the development of Islamic civilization in Indonesia occurred through an inclusive and adaptive process of cultural acculturation. Islamic values were integrated with local traditions, creating a moderate and harmonious religious pattern within society. In contrast, the development of Islam in Patani took place under conditions of political marginalization and state pressure, which fostered cultural resistance and strengthened the religious identity of the Malay Muslim community. These differences indicate that socio-political structures play a significant role in shaping the dynamics of Islamic civilization. The study confirms that Islam as a civilization is flexible and adaptable to different cultural environments; however, the form of adaptation is strongly influenced by power relations, social conditions, and local political contexts. This research is expected to enrich the study of Islamic civilization in Southeast Asia through a comparative approach that integrates cultural and political dimensions more comprehensively.

The issue of plastic waste is increasingly becoming an environmental concern, including in elementary schools, due to its non-biodegradable nature and its potential to cause environmental pollution if not properly managed. This activity aims to implement the Ecobrick method as an innovative solution for managing and utilizing plastic waste at SDN 054945 Desa Dogang, Gebang District, Langkat Regency. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach involving 65 students from grades IV and V through a community service activity. The activity was carried out on July 17, 2024, through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages, with data collection techniques including observation, documentation, and reflective discussion. The results show that the application of the Ecobrick method successfully increased students' understanding and awareness of the dangers of plastic waste and fostered an early environmental concern. Moreover, previously worthless plastic waste was processed into functional Ecobrick benches that can be utilized within the school environment. This activity also encouraged a sense of mutual cooperation, responsibility, and creativity among the students. Thus, the Ecobrick method has proven to be an effective alternative for plastic waste management and a contextual learning medium in creating an environmentally friendly school culture.

Thousands of metric tonnes of garbage remain unmanaged, and despite available solutions, many people are still reluctant to participate in proper waste disposal. This study aimed to identify the reasons behind the unwillingness of different age groups in Kuta Selatan, Badung, Bali to separate their garbage into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories. This qualitative research used surveys and interviews for data collection. The survey involved three age groups: adolescents (10–19) with 15 respondents, young adults (20–39) with 15 respondents, and middle adults (40–60) with 11 respondents. Interviews were conducted with two environmental experts, and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that reluctance across age groups stemmed mainly from limited awareness of the environmental benefits of waste separation and the negative impacts of improper disposal. Adolescents additionally cited the lack of strict policies and penalties. Young and middle adults shared similar reasons, mostly linked to insufficient knowledge and low motivation. Environmental experts emphasized the importance of improving public awareness of waste management practices and enhancing waste management infrastructure through additional facilities and better-quality services. Overall, this study highlights the need for stronger policies, improved infrastructure, and increased public education to boost community participation in waste separation in Kuta Selatan.
