Kidney trauma is a relatively common urological injury, often resulting from high-speed motor vehicle accidents, falls, or violent incidents. The kidneys are vulnerable to both blunt and penetrating trauma, with blunt mechanisms accounting for approximately 90% of all renal injuries. This paper reviews the anatomy of the kidney, mechanisms of injury, classification according to the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST), diagnostic evaluation, imaging modalities, and current management strategies. Most renal traumas are managed conservatively based on hemodynamic stability, while surgical exploration is indicated in severe or vascular injuries. Understanding the mechanism of injury and applying appropriate diagnostic evaluations are essential to determine the correct management approach and improve patient outcomes. Moreover, advancements in imaging techniques, such as CT scans, have significantly improved the accuracy of diagnosing renal injuries. Early intervention and appropriate monitoring are crucial in preventing complications such as hemorrhage or renal failure. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of renal trauma management to aid clinicians in improving patient care and optimizing recovery.

Iron deficiency is one of the main causes of anemia, especially in women of childbearing age who have higher iron requirements. Preventive efforts can be done through functional food innovations based on natural iron sources. Beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) and red spinach (Amaranthus sp.) are known to contain iron in high amounts so they have the potential to be used as alternative raw materials in the manufacture of gluten-free noodles. This study aims to determine the effect of beetroot flour and red spinach flour formulations on the organoleptic properties (color, aroma, taste, and texture) and iron content of gluten-free noodle products. The study used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments: F0 (control), F1 (50:50), F2 (75:25), and F3 (25:75). Iron content analysis was carried out using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method, while the organoleptic test involved 25 untrained panelists who were women aged 15–24 years. The results showed that treatment F3 produced the highest iron content of 12.092 ± 1.658 mg/100 g, while F2 achieved the highest sensory acceptability. Nevertheless, formulation F3 was determined to be the best formulation due to its optimal iron content. This gluten-free noodle product based on beetroot and red spinach has the potential to be developed as a functional food to prevent iron deficiency anemia in women of childbearing age.

Mercury is a highly toxic and bioaccumulative heavy metal. Despite its prohibition, mercury is still frequently found as a contaminant in cosmetic products, particularly in whitening products. This article aims to review and present various findings from previous studies on mercury levels in cosmetic preparations marketed in Indonesia, analyzed using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The method employed is a literature review of scientific articles published between 2015 and 2025, selected based on their focus on mercury analysis in cosmetics use of the AAS method. The review results show that the majority of whitening creams and lotions contain mercury levels exceeding the safety limits set by the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM RI), with some samples showing extremely high concentrations reaching thousands of ppm. In contrast, other preparations such as powders, hair dyes, and deodorants generally have low or undetectable mercury levels. These findings indicate a lack of understanding regarding mercury and its dangers, especially regarding compliance with regulations on cosmetic products, especially those sold online. The conclusion of this review emphasizes the need for enhanced regulatory enforcement, stricter supervision, and increased public education to protect consumers from the health risks posed by mercury-containing cosmetics.

Mining roads are one of the most important facilities that greatly affect the smoothness of production and affect mining costs. Therefore, the construction of mining roads must be carried out carefully to meet technical and work safety standards. Road conditions, distance, road slope and road carrying capacity will greatly affect the production capacity of heavy equipment, especially the production capacity of transport equipment. The location of this research is at PT. Energi Cahaya Industritama, precisely in Palaran sub-district, Samarinda city, East Kalimantan province. After observations were made at the research location, it was found that the geometric conditions of the road did not comply with the standards based on the overburden transport equipment or the largest transport equipment, for example, the width of the road on bends and the slope of the road. After conducting the research, the results of the data from the geometry of the access road were obtained, namely, the actual condition of the geometry of the access road on the straight road width is divided into 6 segments with a width of 13.3 meters, 14.3 meters, 14.5 meters, 13.2 meters, 15 meters, 15.7 meters. Meanwhile, the width of the bend road is also divided into 2 segments with a width of 15.9 meters and 15.5 meters respectively. And on the slope of the road there are 2 segments with values of 11.1% and 14.8% respectively. Based on the results of the simulation software, the productivity of the transport equipment was obtained at 92.42 BCM/hour, which shows that productivity has increased by 12.23 BCM/hour from the actual productivity value of 80.109 BCM/hour. It has an average cycle time of 10.33 minutes, which shows a reduction in time or 6.01 minutes faster than the actual average cycle time of 16.34 minutes.

Fish is one type of aquatic product widely used by the community because of its advantages as a food ingredient, including a source of important nutrients such as protein, vitamins, fat, and minerals. Fish is often found in cans. Canned packaging contains the heavy metals lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and zinc (Zn), which can be released into food due to the long storage period. This study aims to identify and analyze heavy metals Pb, Cd, and Zn levels in canned tuna with an expiration date of less than 1 year. Samples of canned tuna came from five different brands. Qualitative analysis used color reagents, while quantitative research used an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The qualitative study results showed that three samples of tuna contained heavy metals. Samples B and C were positive for Pb metal, while samples A and B were positive for Zn metal. The concentration of Pb metal was measured in sample B at 117.9 mg/Kg and in sample C at -0.0147 mg/Kg. The concentration of Zn metal in sample A was -0.0048 mg/Kg, and in sample B, it was -0.147 mg/Kg.
