Diaconal ministry is one form of church service that embodies the love of Christ in serving others. However, in practice, this ministry is often carried out in a charitable manner and has yet to fully address comprehensive and sustainable empowerment of the congregation. This study is driven by the urgent need to develop a diaconal service that not only provides temporary assistance but also effectively enhances the socio-economic independence of the congregation, particularly within the context of Gereja Isa Almasih Pringgading, where some Christian members face economic challenges due to limited access, resources, and institutional church support. The objective of this study is to analyze and describe the role of the Church Council in developing reformative and sustainable empowerment-based diaconal ministry. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews with Church Council members and service recipients, direct observations of diaconal activities, and documentation of church archives and social service reports. Data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of service, empowerment strategies, and socio-economic impacts on the congregation. The study's findings reveal that the Church Council plays a strategic role in transforming diaconal ministry from mere charitable assistance into a structured empowerment program. Successfully implemented programs include entrepreneurial skills training, micro-business mentoring for congregation members, internal church cooperative development, and the establishment of local economic partnership networks. The impacts of these programs are reflected in increased household incomes, improved economic independence for some members, and strengthened social solidarity within the congregation. This study produces a conceptual model of empowerment-based diaconal ministry that can be replicated by other local churches to sustainably enhance congregational welfare.

This study examines the character of Bahar in the novel "Janji" by Tere Liye, focusing on the themes of sacrifice and regret. The background of this research stems from the significance of literature in reflecting human life conflicts. The problem statement raised is how Bahar's character illustrates sacrifice and regret within his social context. The method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through reading and literature review. The findings indicate that Bahar makes significant sacrifices by replacing Mas Puji's position who is detained, while also confronting the stigma of being an ex-convict. This article explores the relationship between nationalism and Christian faith from a biblical perspective. Nationalism is often defined as loyalty to nation and state, while Christian faith centres on loyalty to God and His kingdom. In the Indonesian context, churches participated in the nationalism movement from the colonialism era until independence. Based on theological studies, the Bible provides insight that believers' primary loyalty should be to God, although they are also expected to be good citizens. This article uses a literature study method with a qualitative approach to analyse relevant biblical texts as well as related theological literature. The concept of nation in the Bible is examined from the perspective of the Old Testament, which focuses on the ethnic identity of the nation of Israel, to the New Testament, which expands the nation's identity into an inclusive community of faith. The article also highlights the ethical implications of nationalism for Christians, who should reflect the values of justice, love and sacrifice, and avoid exclusionary and xenophobic attitudes.

Imperfect: Career, Love & Scales is a work that discusses the issue of body shaming and social pressure on beauty standards. Through a qualitative approach with social comparison theory analysis, this study reveals how the representation of body aesthetics is displayed in the film. The main character, Rara, experiences pressure to meet ideal beauty standards, such as a slim body and white skin, both in her work environment and family. This phenomenon reflects social construction and popular culture that reinforces beauty stereotypes. The impacts of this pressure include decreased self-esteem, anxiety, and unhealthy dieting behavior. This study shows that media-promoted beauty standards have a negative impact on individual mental health and encourage appearance-based discrimination. The film also critiques narrow beauty standards while conveying important messages about self-acceptance and diversity.

The purpose of this writing is to help readers and the Church of God better understand the response and role toward the existence of homosexuality, and to serve as a reference for the Church in addressing cases of homosexuality. The goal is to produce an effective perspective and approach that the Church and society should take in serving and healing individuals suffering from homosexuality. In this study, the Biblical perspective on homosexuality is analyzed by referencing key texts such as Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27, which are often used as the basis for conservative churches to oppose homosexuality. This research also examines the Church's response in the form of guiding individuals toward repentance, commitment to celibacy, pastoral counseling, as well as attention to the psychological aspects of homosexual individuals. Using a qualitative approach, this study highlights significant differences in the Church's response to homosexuality, where conservative churches emphasize repentance and the avoidance of homosexual relationships, while progressive churches are more accepting and supportive of inclusivity. This research is expected to provide insight into the Church's role in supporting homosexual individuals and building a more inclusive understanding in line with the teachings of Christ's love.
