In contemporary higher education, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is increasingly expected to prepare learners for meaningful professional participation rather than isolated linguistic performance. Nevertheless, ESP pedagogy has often remained predominantly skill-oriented, with limited conceptual integration of pedagogical innovations such as project-based learning and digital learning. This study presents a systematic literature review of 40 peer-reviewed studies examining how ESP pedagogy is being reframed as situated professional practice through the integration of project-based and digital learning. Following the process of thematic synthesis, the review provides an examination of what ESP learning is perceived to be, how it is conducted and how it is evaluated in different disciplines and countries. Results show a marked pedagogical transition from a language-centric approach to one that incorporated more authenticity, collaboration and professional concern. Reported learning attainments go beyond language to cover professional capability, digital literacy, autonomous learning and identity development. Project-based learning authenticates language use in professional workflows, and digital learning environments support multimodal communication reminiscent of the way people work today. This review contends that in combination, these perspectives re-conceptualise the pedagogical nature of ESP as a type of applied professional education ’realised’ within particular social, institutional and discipline specific contexts. By synthesizing empirical evidence across settings, the study offers a conceptual reframing of ESP pedagogy and outlines implications for curriculum design, assessment, and future research in higher education and the social humanities.

This study aims to analyze the influence of workload, work discipline, and the work environment on employee performance at the Tarokan District Office. Employee performance is a crucial element in achieving organizational objectives, as human resources are considered the most valuable asset of an institution. Workload, work discipline, and the work environment are three interrelated factors that often determine whether employees can achieve optimal performance levels. This research employs a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of the Tarokan District Office. The analysis was conducted to examine both partial and simultaneous effects of the three variables on employee performance. The findings reveal that workload partially has a significant effect on employee performance, indicating that a balanced workload improves effectiveness while excessive workload may hinder output. Similarly, work discipline partially demonstrates a significant effect, highlighting the role of adherence to rules and punctuality in enhancing performance outcomes. The work environment also partially exerts a significant effect, suggesting that supportive facilities, comfortable conditions, and positive interpersonal relationships contribute to higher productivity. Furthermore, the results show that workload, work discipline, and work environment simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance. These findings provide important implications for organizational leaders in designing policies that ensure sustainable performance improvements.

The development of information systems is now widely used in the business world, both in the living environment and even in the work environment, such as the use of the attendance information system at PT PLN PERSERO. Attendance in an agency is an important factor in human resource management. Accurate and objective information regarding an employee's attendance can present the quality and productivity of performance, determine the size of performance allowances and the general level of employee discipline in the agency. The process of recording and reporting employee absences is a repetitive process that is used at certain times such as entry time, departure time and holidays. It is recommended that audits of this system be carried out periodically or annually, so that the expected level of maturity can be achieved, and as a whole, not just the attendance information system, so that all aspects of work operations can also be evaluated so as to improve employee performance in general. From the results of the maturity level assessment, several findings were obtained in each domain studied, namely with the EDM03 domain having a value of 3.00, it was found that information and data security problems needed to be improved, with the EMD05 domain having a value of 2.93, problems were found that there were no written regulations that could be used as a reference, with domain AP015 with a value of 3.13 found a problem that there was still a difference between cost allocation and actual costs with domain 1P012 with a value of 3.07, a problem was found that there were no risk response regulations available, with domain DSS02 with a value of 3.13 there were no written regulations that could be used as a reference.
