E-learning has become a vital pillar in higher education, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic forced a sudden shift towards digital learning methods. This article examines the effectiveness of e-learning platforms through a comparative literature review (2020–2025), focusing on Moodle, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and CIDOS 4.0 as the local platform. The study evaluates aspects of student engagement, accessibility, assessment, and technological innovation. Findings reveal that although e-learning enhances flexibility, challenges remain in terms of the digital divide, system usability, and reliability of assessment. This review highlights that Moodle provides strong interactive and assessment features, while Google Classroom offers simplicity and accessibility but lacks advanced analytics. Microsoft Teams supports collaboration and integration with Office 365, yet requires stable internet. Zoom is highly effective for synchronous interaction but less suitable for task management. CIDOS 4.0 addresses Malaysia’s TVET context but continues to face issues with server stability and user interface design. Beyond platform-specific strengths and weaknesses, the analysis emphasizes that student engagement, fair access, and reliable evaluation methods are central to e-learning effectiveness. Hybrid approaches that combine face-to-face and online learning are identified as the most effective strategy within the Malaysian higher education context. The study concludes that institutions must not only choose appropriate platforms but also enhance digital literacy, invest in infrastructure, and explore innovations such as AI and gamification. These measures can maximize e-learning’s potential to improve teaching, learning quality, and the broader digital transformation of higher education.

This article discusses the issue of poverty in Kalimantan Island, Indonesia, with a focus on the analysis of poverty data from 2019 to 2024. Despite Kalimantan's wealth of natural resources, economic disparities and uneven distribution remain significant challenges. This research uses data from the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik) to demonstrate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused an increase in the number of people living in poverty due to income reductions and job losses. By utilizing Microsoft Excel, data visualization is employed to present information clearly and concisely, making it easier to understand the poverty situation in the region. The findings of this research recommend that poverty alleviation policies be more focused and data-driven, and encourage further research to understand the factors influencing poverty. It is hoped that this article will provide valuable insights for the development of policies and poverty alleviation efforts in Indonesia, particularly in Kalimantan Island.

This Project Focuses On The Disinfection Of Surfaces And Items From Microorganisms, Particularly COVID-19, Using Ultraviolet Radiation. UV Germicidal Irradiation, Particularly In The 200-280 Nm Range, Is Highly Effective In Killing Many Microorganisms. To Test Klebsiella, Two Designs Were Constructed Using Canadian UV Leds And Chinese UV LEDS. The Results Showed Successful Disinfection With A High Microorganism Killed Ratio. The Chinese Design Had The Highest Disinfection Percentage Ratio Of 69.24%, While The Canadian Design Achieved 89.66%. Although The Canadian Design Is More Expensive, It Shows Excellent Results And Is Worth The Cost.

University of Sumatera Utara (USU) is the one of the largest and the best universities in Medan which has full of facilities and infrastructure. Nevertheless, currently University of Sumatera Utara does not have a Student Center. The provision of a student center at a university is essential for the development of outstanding students. Furthermore, in the post pandemic COVID-19, humans need a healthier space or place to be live in. Activities that take place indoors require good air quality to prevent viruses from easily entering and thriving inside the room. The application of tropical architecture in the design of the USU Student Center is a consideration in creating a place suitable for post pandemic COVID-19 conditions, and it also serves as a solution for the climate in Indonesia.

Medan is home to a number of historical buildings from the colonial era and the Islamic Malay Kingdom of Deli, many of which are now heritage sites. However, some buildings remain abandoned, such as the Warenhuis building on Jalan Hindu. Built in 1918 and protected by Law No. 11/2010 and Medan Mayor Decree No. 433/28.K/X/2021, Warenhuis needs to be revitalized to maintain its cultural significance. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased interest in digital connectivity and art. Advances in virtual reality and augmented reality have created new immersive art experiences. The 2000s saw significant growth in the field of new media art, with more and more art collectives utilizing technology. The Cultural Promotion Law No. 5/2017 focuses on the protection, development, and utilization of the arts. Medan, the third largest city in Indonesia, has great potential as a digital art gallery that helps promote culture through conservation, development and community participation. The regeneration of Warenhuis as a digital art gallery uses an infill development design that blends contemporary digital art with the classic architecture of the building, creating a dynamic and inclusive art space while maintaining its historical value.
