Education is a key element in the development of society and the country. This article examines the development of education in Indonesia with a focus on the background, results and conclusions of the historical journey of education in this country. The development of education in Indonesia has been influenced by a long history, especially the period of Dutch colonialism. Education at that time was limited to the native elite and created inequality in access to education. However, after the proclamation of independence in 1945, education became a top priority in national development, resulting in a significant increase in access to basic education. Nevertheless, educational inequality between urban and rural areas and between islands in Indonesia remains a problem that must be addressed..Educational developments in Indonesia include increasing access to education, diversifying higher education programs, and efforts to integrate local culture in the curriculum. The government has allocated a significant budget for education, modernizing the curriculum and improving the quality of teaching. Education reform also includes teacher training and curriculum updates to face changing times. However, there are still challenges in educational governance, unequal access to education, and integrating technology in the learning process. The development of education in Indonesia reflects a journey full of challenges and significant changes. While there has been progress in terms of access and cultural integration efforts, challenges such as educational inequality, complex governance, and technology integration still need to be addressed. Quality education remains a priority, with the hope that continued efforts will ensure that education in Indonesia meets high quality standards and is relevant to face a challenging future. Questions with a high level of thinking level or what is often referred to as HOTS usually provide unusual word choices and require advanced vocabulary and/or appropriate contextual understanding of the meaning of a word depending on its use in a sentence. In this problem, prepositions can also be classified as difficult questions because they are not only interpreted literally, but also require exposure to those words beforehand, especially in phrasal verbs or phrasal adjectives. The purpose of the HOTS model questions is to encourage students to do high-level reasoning so that they are not fixated on only one pattern of answers resulting from the memorization process, without knowing the concept of knowledge. HOTS is one of the skills demands in 21st century learning, namely critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking. HOTS questions make it possible to create the same type of questions, but with different questions. This aims to capture quality students who are in accordance with the development of information technology in the digital era. By familiarizing yourself with challenging questions, your potential can also be encouraged to further develop.

Education is the main foundation in community development and human resource development. In the context of higher education, the quality of the learning process and lecture management greatly affects student success. One aspect that has a significant impact on the learning process is student attendance management. Traditionally, recording student attendance is done manually by using a physical attendance list that must be filled in by students and signed by lecturers. Although it has been used for a long time, this method has a number of limitations that need to be overcome. In the rapidly evolving digital era, we have access to technology that can simplify and improve student attendance management. The use of information technology can provide a more efficient, accurate, and practical solution in recording student attendance. The app was developed using MIT App Inventor, a platform that makes it easy for users to create Android apps without in-depth programming knowledge.

Efforts have been made to educate the nation's life, one of which is a policy for teachers as the main party who contributes greatly to education. As an educator, a teacher needs to create a meaningful educational atmosphere and be professionally committed and set an example. One thing that can be done is to have textbooks to support the quality of education. However, from an analysis of the situation at one of the Al-Ittihad Cianjur Vocational Schools, the majority of teachers have never published a book to use for the teaching and learning process. The results of interviews and pre-activity observations also showed that there had never been any training that provided material for publishing textbooks. On the other hand, some teachers already have modules that can be turned into published books. Therefore, this service seeks to improve the abilities and understanding of teachers at Al-Ittihad Cianjur Vocational School in creating published books that can be used for the teaching and learning process. The material was provided through socialization and attended by 15 teachers from various expertise. Based on the results of interviews after the activity, teachers have knowledge about the flow of book publishing and also the process of changing modules into textbooks. However, I will still think more about making books because there are too many activities to do at school.
