This study aims to examine the role of ecotourism in mangrove conservation and its appeal to tourists at Mangrove Beach Paluh Getah, Deli Serdang Regency. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through direct observation and interviews with local communities and visitors. The findings indicate that ecotourism plays a significant role in rehabilitating mangrove ecosystems by engaging both residents and tourists in regular mangrove planting activities. Moreover, ecotourism positively impacts local livelihoods by promoting sustainable businesses such as tour guiding services and mangrove-based products. The natural beauty, biodiversity, and educational tourism programs serve as key attractions for visitors. Local communities actively manage the area through tourism awareness groups and cooperatives, enhancing both social and economic sustainability. However, challenges remain, including limited facilities and insufficient promotion. Therefore, sustainable development strategies involving collaboration between communities, the government, and the private sector are essential. Ecotourism at Paluh Getah Mangrove Beach holds great potential as a model for coastal area management that integrates conservation and community empowerment.

The research activities carried out in Cipancar Village, Subang Regency, West Java focused on efforts to develop the local tourism sector through digital promotion strategies. One of the leading destinations in the village is Curug Cijalu, a natural waterfall that has great potential but is still minimal in terms of digital exposure. This study aims to design a social media-based promotion strategy, especially TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, to increase the attractiveness and reach of tourists to Curug Cijalu. The methods used include field observation, interviews with local stakeholders, and creative content production tailored to the characteristics of each digital platform. The results of the implementation show that an attractively packaged visual approach can increase audience interaction, expand the reach of promotion, and build a positive image of the destination. In addition, the use of social media also plays a role in encouraging local community participation and the development of digital literacy. Therefore, social media has proven to be an effective tool in supporting the promotion of sustainable tourism in rural areas.

Jamalsari Village has rich local potentials, including natural tourism, agriculture, and traditional culture. Unfortunately, these potentials have not been optimally managed, and as a result, they have not significantly contributed to the community’s welfare. In response to this issue, a community service program was conducted with the goal of empowering the residents in developing tourism and creative economies based on local potentials. The approach used was participatory, where the community was actively involved in every stage of the activity, from identifying potentials and problems to training, mentoring, and evaluating the outcomes. Key activities in this program included training local tour guides to enhance residents' capacity in welcoming tourists, homestay management training as a form of community-based accommodation, and training on processing local products such as cassava chips and opak (crispy rice cakes). In addition, the community was encouraged to utilize social media as a promotional tool for products and tourist destinations. The results of these activities showed an increase in the community’s capacity and awareness in managing the village’s potential. The establishment of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) became one of the success indicators, where this group actively managed tourism activities independently. Furthermore, several prototypes of creative economy products have been successfully produced and widely recognized through digital promotion. This program successfully encouraged active participation from the community in promoting and managing the village as a local wisdom-based tourist destination. The success of this initiative shows that community empowerment oriented towards local potential can be an effective and sustainable approach, with the potential to serve as a replicable model for other villages with similar characteristics. Additionally, with this program, the community began to have a better understanding of the importance of environmental sustainability and cultural preservation in tourism development. This program also opened new opportunities for improving the residents’ economy, creating jobs, and reducing dependence on less sustainable economic sectors.

Tourism is one of the strategic fields to obtain foreign exchange and support national and regional development. Indonesia has a rich diversity of tourist destinations, spread across the country. One of the regions famous for its beautiful and attractive tourist destinations is East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT). This regency has various tourist destinations that attract attention and have unique characteristics. Currently, the focus of the community, particularly the people of East Manggarai Regency, is on the Watu Pajung Beach and Rana Tonjong Lake tourist destinations in Nanga Mbaur and Nanga Mbaling villages, Sambi Rampas sub-district. Considering its potential to increase regional income, this destination is specifically regulated through the East Manggarai Regency Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2016 concerning the management of the Watu Pajung Beach and Rana Tonjong Lake tourism area. This research uses empirical juridical methods, collecting data through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the study show that the implementation of the function of the East Manggarai Regency Tourism Office has shown an increase, but it is not yet optimal. Based on field experience and information obtained, the researcher can provide suggestions and input, namely: The Tourism Office must be more serious in overcoming the obstacles of managing the Watu Pajung Beach and Rana Tonjong Lake tourism to achieve optimal results, and the Local Government supports with larger budget assistance so that the management of tourist destinations is smoother.

Sri Mersing Beach is a beach located in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra, which has a tourist destination with great potential because of its natural beauty, white sand, and local wisdom that is still preserved. This study aims to identify supporting factors in the development of the Sri Mersing beach tourism area through a qualitative approach, with data collection methods in the form of literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the development of Sri Mersing Beach is influenced by five main aspects, namely attractions, accessibility, facilities (amenities), institutions (ancillary), and hospitality. The presence of appropriate infrastructure, biodiversity, and active participation of local communities will provide important capital for the development of sustainable tourism. However, several challenges such as improving the quality of road access and optimizing agency management must continue to be addressed. Indonesia's rich natural resources offer immense potential for tourism development, with various locations evolving into popular tourist destinations. Kledung Pass, with its stunning views of three mountains, is an attractive stopover for travelers heading to cities across Java. Despite its popularity, however, there is no clear technical framework for designing rest areas in such locations. This study addresses the gap by proposing a new concept that reimagines rest areas as tourist destinations, providing brief yet meaningful stops for travelers. The research conducted surveys with road users to understand their rest needs while traveling. It focused on identifying key factors influencing the need for rest from a neuroscience perspective, considering both the physiological and psychological aspects. These findings were analyzed using William Peña’s space programming theory to develop appropriate design standards. The results indicated two main factors driving the need for temporary stopovers: physical fatigue from long journeys and emotional boredom. These findings underscore the necessity for spaces that cater to both physical relaxation and mental rejuvenation, creating a more holistic rest area experience. The proposed design standards move beyond traditional rest areas, integrating recreational features to enhance user experience. The design that considers the effective zoning layout and the use of environmentally friendly materials is expected to be able to create an economically efficient rest area, while providing a positive experience that is environmentally friendly. Overall, planning non-toll rest areas with neuroarchitectural principles can create functional rest areas that support mental health, as well as strengthen Indonesia's tourism appeal through sustainable and highquality space experiences.

This study examines the form of community participation in the development of the edu tourism concept through TPS 3R KSM Nangun Resik in Paksebali Village, Klungkung. The issue of waste management is a major challenge in sustainable development, especially for areas that experience a shift in function from agrarian areas to tourism areas. Paksebali Village through TPS 3R Nangun Resik not only makes TPS 3R Nangun Resik a place for waste processing but also directed as a vehicle for environmental education, which has the potential to be developed in the concept of edu tourism. In the context of waste management, edu tourism can be a strategic tool to increase public awareness and participation in the importance of sustainable environmental management. This research uses a qualitative approach in describing and explaining the form of community participation in the development of the edu tourism concept through TPS 3R Nangun Resik Paksebali Village. The form of community participation in the development of the concept of edu tourism through TPS 3R Nangun Resik Paksebali Village is divided into 3 (three) forms of participation, namely (1) Participation in community planning is involved in efforts to make TPS 3R Nangun Resik as a means of educational tourism at the initiation of the Head of Paksebali village; (2) Participation in implementation in addition to being an active employee, one of the main forms of involvement that can be seen is as an educational tour guide. People who act as guides are given special training so that they are able to deliver educational material in a communicative way and in accordance with the local context; (3) Participation in monitoring the role of the community does not stop at the planning and implementation stages, the community is also involved in the process of periodic monitoring and evaluation of edu tourism activities. Furthermore, it is recommended to continue providing training related to tourism both to the community directly involved in the development and management of edu tourism at TPS 3R Nangun Resik.

This study aims to assess how the development and tourism potential of Parepare City are perceived by the local community. Using a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative), this research analyzes five main components (A5): Attraction, Amenities, Ancillary Services, Activities, and Accessibility, utilizing the Weighted Analysis technique (Likert Scale) to provide a structured evaluation. The findings indicate that public perceptions of tourism development vary. Artificial attractions received high ratings and are considered a key strength. Regarding amenities, the availability of places of worship was rated as the most adequate. However, in ancillary services, facilities such as clean water, electricity, and culinary services still require improvement. In terms of activities, events like festivals and recreational activities were deemed to be suboptimal in terms of implementation, management, and the involvement of local SMEs. Meanwhile, in the accessibility component, institutions such as Pokdarwis have not been effectively implemented. Therefore, a development strategy is needed that actively involves the community through training and empowerment, as well as continuous support from the government. Infrastructure improvement and regular evaluations are essential steps to enhance tourist interest in visiting Parepare City.
