Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in the culinary sector face multiple competitive pressures encompassing product legality, consumer trust, and the effectiveness of value communication. This Community Service activity was conducted at Warung Sambal Cidero, a culinary MSME in Kediri City, from March 28, 2026, to April 25, 2026, using a Participatory Action Research approach with four cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Two main interventions were implemented: strengthening halal certification through supply chain audits, developing a Halal Product Assurance System, and assisting with SIHALAL-BPJPH registration; and improving price value strategies through consumer perception-based rebranding, value-based pricing, and optimizing digital marketing. The reflective evaluation confirmed substantive changes in the business owner's understanding of halal as a strategic business instrument, improvements to the raw material recording system, and a shift in consumer perception from a price-oriented to a value-oriented one. This activity contributes to the theoretical integration of the PAR approach and strategic management and marketing frameworks in the context of Indonesian culinary MSMEs.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in national economic growth, particularly in creating employment opportunities and improving community welfare. However, many MSME actors still face challenges in financial management due to limited financial literacy and inadequate understanding of simple accounting practices. Tenank Cafe Medan is one of the culinary businesses with strong development potential, yet it continues to experience difficulties in transaction recording, cash flow management, and preparing simple financial reports, which may affect business sustainability and operational effectiveness. This Community Partnership Independent Service Program (PMKM) aims to improve the financial literacy of business partners in supporting sustainable business development. The implementation methods included observation, socialization, training, direct practice, and mentoring activities focused on business financial management and transaction recording. The results of the program indicate an increase in the partner’s understanding of financial management, transaction recording, and the preparation of simple profit and loss reports. In addition, the partner has started to separate business finances from personal finances. Consumerism is an increasingly dominant phenomenon in modern society along with the development of capitalism, globalization, and information technology. Society's consumption patterns have shifted from being primarily oriented toward fulfilling needs to fulfilling symbolic desires. In this context, Jean Baudrillard's thinking is relevant in explaining that consumption is no longer based on use value, but rather on the sign value inherent in a commodity. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of consumerism in modern society through Jean Baudrillard's critical perspective and to uncover its social implications. The research method used is a qualitative approach with library research, which examines various scientific literature, books, and journals related to consumerism and simulation theory. The results show that consumerism has created a pseudo-reality (simulacra), where individuals consume based on symbolic impulses shaped by the media, advertising, and popular culture. Consumption becomes a means to construct self-identity and gain social recognition, thus encouraging excessive consumer behavior. Furthermore, this phenomenon also results in social alienation, identity crises, and dependence on the global capitalist system. Thus, consumerism is not only an economic activity but also a complex socio-cultural phenomenon. Therefore, critical awareness is needed so that society can be more rational and selective in its consumption practices

This Community Service (CS) initiative was executed collaboratively by faculty members from five universities—Universitas Pamulang, Universitas Presiden, Universitas Trisakti, Universitas Pembangunan Jaya, and Universitas Borobudur—in Kasomalang Kulon Tourism Village, Subang Regency, West Java, on April 17, 2026. This initiative aimed to instruct village leaders, as prospective catalysts for change in waste management and renewable energy, on the technique for converting plastic trash into pyrolysis-derived alternative fuel and the Triboelectric Nanogenerator (TENG) energy harvesting technology. This activity addresses the critical issues of plastic waste pollution and the exhaustion of fossil fuel reserves. Annually, almost 8 million tonnes of plastic waste infiltrate the oceans, yet merely 9% of all plastic ever manufactured is effectively recycled. The collaborative effort encompassed Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems, Petroleum Engineering, Information Systems, Product Design, and Agrotechnology. The instructional techniques employed comprised lectures and conversations. The activity's results indicated that participants acquired a thorough comprehension of pyrolysis mechanisms, the principles of TENG energy conversion, and its possible applications at the village level. Despite the absence of direct implementation, the cadres shown significant motivation to facilitate technology adoption inside their communities. This PKM model demonstrates that interdisciplinary collaboration across universities is effective in providing innovative technological education to rural populations.

Ntobo Village is known as one of the centers of traditional weaving craftsmen who are the main source of income for most of the community. However, promotion and marketing of woven products are still limited, so innovative activities are needed to increase the attractiveness and economic value of local weaving. Ntobo Specta activities are packaged in the form of a bazaar for weaving MSMEs and a fashion show made from typical Ntobo woven fabrics involving elementary, middle, and high school students. This activity aims to introduce Ntobo weaving to the wider community, increase the interest of the younger generation in local culture, and open marketing opportunities for weaving MSMEs. The implementation method is carried out through the stages of coordination, activity preparation, event implementation, and evaluation. The results of the activity show that Ntobo Specta is able to be an effective medium for promoting culture and the creative economy. The enthusiasm of the community and participants has a positive impact on increasing the existence of Ntobo weaving as a superior regional product. Furthermore, this activity also stimulates economic growth in the community by increasing awareness of local woven products and expanding the marketing network for MSMEs. Thus, Ntobo Specta is a form of community empowerment that integrates cultural preservation with strengthening the creative economy based on local wisdom.

Legal education in higher education institutions remains predominantly dominated by cognitive approaches, which have not fully succeeded in shaping students’ character, particularly in terms of integrity, professional responsibility, and legal empathy. This condition highlights the need for learning approaches that integrate practical experience with professional ethical values. This community engagement activity aims to strengthen the character of law students through a clinical legal education-based intervention integrated with professional ethics education. The activity was conducted using a participatory approach involving 35 law students from the Faculty of Law at Universitas Madura over the period from 21 April to 13 May 2026. The intervention consisted of a series of activities, including legal education sessions, basic legal consultations, and structured ethical reflection. The community partners were local residents with limited access to legal information and services. The results indicate an improvement in students’ character scores across several dimensions, namely integrity (from 3.42 to 4.21), professional responsibility (from 3.51 to 4.28), and legal empathy (from 3.37 to 4.35). In addition, more than 80% of students reported that the activity enhanced their understanding of legal practice and the social conditions of the community. The activity also had a positive impact on the community, particularly in improving legal literacy. These findings demonstrate that experience-based legal clinics are effective in strengthening law students’ character while simultaneously providing tangible benefits to the community. Therefore, community engagement activities based on clinical legal education can be developed as a strategic medium for strengthening character education in law faculties.

This community service activity examines the legality of employment agreements involving informal workers and gig economy workers in Medan City amid the rapid growth of the digital economy. The study focuses on the form, content, and legal implications of employment agreements, as well as the extent to which such agreements provide protection for workers who possess weak bargaining positions. The method employed is a socio-juridical approach with qualitative analysis through literature studies on laws and regulations, related academic references, and interviews with gig economy workers, informal workers, and other relevant parties. The findings indicate that although most employment agreements formally fulfill the legal requirements under civil law, materially they tend to be unbalanced by positioning workers as “partners” without adequate labor rights protection. In the non-platform informal sector, employment relationships are generally based only on verbal agreements that do not clearly regulate rights, obligations, or dispute resolution mechanisms. The low level of workers’ legal literacy also contributes to their limited understanding of contractual provisions. Therefore, strengthening legal literacy, developing fairer employment agreement models, and formulating more responsive policies are necessary to ensure proper legal protection for informal and gig economy workers.

This research is motivated by the increasing urban activities in Mempawah Hilir District as a Regional Activity Center, which has led to high traffic movement at the intersection of Jl. Raden Kusno – Jl. A. Djaelani – Jl. Raden Sujarwo. The diversity of land use and the meeting of arterial and collector roads create potential traffic conflicts and accident risks. The installation of traffic lights is implemented as a traffic control measure; however, its effectiveness in improving safety and comfort needs further analysis. This study aims to assess traffic safety and comfort conditions after the implementation of traffic lights at the intersection. A quantitative approach was used with primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through questionnaires on road users’ perceptions and field observations, while secondary data included traffic accident records from Mempawah Police and spatial development data from Google Earth Pro, Google Maps, Copernicus, and Google Colab. The analysis employed descriptive-comparative, spatial descriptive, and scoring methods. The results show that traffic lights implemented since August 2023 have reduced traffic accidents and improved safety conditions, although not yet optimal compared to the lowest accident rate in 2021. Increased land use activity and traffic volume influence this condition. User perceptions indicate improved comfort internally, but external factors such as road conditions and side obstacles still reduce comfort and safety.

Strengthening literacy in secondary education is essential in responding to the demands of 21st-century learning. Teachers play a crucial role in integrating literacy into classroom practices; however, their understanding and skills in implementing literacy-based learning are often still limited. This community service program aims to enhance teachers’ competencies in developing literacy-based instruction at State Senior High School 5 Purworejo through a participatory and sustainable training and mentoring approach. The program involved 30 teachers and was conducted in three stages: preparation and planning, implementation, and mentoring and evaluation. The results show a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of literacy, with the average score increasing from 62.4 to 84.7. A total of 87% of teachers were able to design literacy-based lesson plans effectively, while 73% successfully implemented them in classroom practice. Positive impacts were also observed among students, who became more active in discussions and more confident in expressing their ideas. Qualitatively, the program revealed a shift in teachers’ perspectives, where literacy is no longer seen as an additional activity but as an integral part of meaningful learning that fosters critical and reflective thinking. Overall, this program not only improved teachers’ technical competencies but also strengthened their professional awareness in creating more meaningful learning experiences. The mentoring process played a key role in supporting this transformation by providing a reflective and supportive space for continuous learning and growth.

PT. X is a textile company that produces greige fabric. One of the crucial stages in the greige fabric production process is inspection. Currently, the facility layout of the inspection area at PT X is still suboptimal. This results in longer fabric movement distances and increased time, leading to delivery delays and higher material handling costs. This study aims to design an optimal facility layout in the inspection area using the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) method and to determine the distances, times, and costs for the proposed layout. In the initial production layout, the fabric movement distance reached 26,130 meters in one working day, and the fabric movement time was 936 minutes. Furthermore, the initial production layout generated a relatively high OMH of Rp 13,742,980 per month. After designing the facility layout using the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) and Blockplan methods, the proposed layout was arranged according to the production process sequence, resulting in a smoother material flow. The proposed layout yields 16,830 meters of fabric movement per workday, 660 minutes of required time, and a monthly OMH of Rp 7,945,622, with an efficiency of 39.32%.

Criminal law socialization is a crucial form of community empowerment in building awareness, compliance, and legal order in the social environment. This activity is motivated by the limited understanding among some members of the public regarding what constitutes a crime, the potential legal consequences, and the appropriate steps to take when facing legal issues. This lack of legal literacy can leave people vulnerable to committing violations, becoming victims of crime, or resolving conflicts in ways that are inconsistent with legal provisions. Therefore, this socialization activity aims to provide a basic understanding of criminal law, raise public awareness of the importance of obeying the law, and encourage active community participation in creating a safe, orderly, and just environment. The activity is implemented through counseling, interactive discussions, questions and answers, and the presentation of simple case studies relevant to everyday life. The material presented includes the definition of criminal law, types of crimes frequently occurring in society, legal sanctions, the rights and obligations of citizens, and the role of the community in preventing legal violations. Through a communicative and participatory approach, it is hoped that the community will more easily understand the material and be able to connect it to real-world problems in their environment. The expected outcomes of this activity are increased public understanding of criminal law, increased awareness to avoid unlawful acts, and increased public courage to report criminal acts to the authorities. Thus, criminal law socialization serves not only as an educational activity but also as a community empowerment strategy in building a legal culture. This activity is expected to encourage the formation of a legally aware, responsible community that plays an active role in creating a law-abiding environment.
