This service activity was carried out collaboratively by lecturers and students at MI Miftahul Huda 2 Palangka Raya with the aim of enhancing the quality of IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) learning through the development of interactive teaching materials based on Canva. The program applied the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which emphasizes the empowerment of existing assets within the school community. The implementation involved mentoring sessions, technical guidance, and direct classroom application of the developed materials. Effectiveness was evaluated through pretests and posttests, showing an increase in students' understanding from an average pretest score of 55.19 to a posttest score of 77.04, with an average N-Gain of 0.47 (moderate category). Validation results from subject matter experts (96%), design experts (97%), and classroom teachers (89%) confirmed that the developed media were appropriate in terms of content, visual quality, and language use. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the use of technology-based teaching media also increased student motivation and teacher engagement during the learning process. The outcomes of this program not only provided direct benefits to the partner school but also demonstrated the potential for broader application as a participatory and sustainable model for digital innovation in basic education.

In the world of education, students' English language skills cannot be separated from the learning process provided by lecturers. Lecturers as facilitators try to provide the best teaching and learning process for their students. English is a course that develops communication skills both orally and in writing, understanding and expressing information. This course is no longer just a course that is limited to grammar, but can also develop students' skills in communicating English orally and in writing. For this reason, a creative approach is needed that can make students more active and interesting in learning English. One of the approaches provided by lecturers is learning English by utilizing audio-visual media, namely using videos, films, and music. In teaching English material, the use of this learning media is one of the right learning media to use. The purpose of this journal is to provide strategies in utilizing audio-visual media to improve students' English learning outcomes. Technically, the strategy for utilizing audio-visual media in the process of teaching and learning English is divided into three stages, namely preparation, use and the last is follow-up after use. This media utilization strategy will make English learning more effective, interactive and interesting. The purpose of this study was to illuminate how students understand various types of sentences, especially single sentences, compound sentences, and compound sentences, and to develop and implement flipbooks as a learning aid in grade V of SD Negeri 12 Kota Langsa. This study was conducted through a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation to collect data. The results showed that conventional learning methods and the lack of interactive media caused most students to still have difficulty in distinguishing the structure and use of sentence types. There is evidence that the use of visual and interactive flipbook media can improve students' understanding and encourage them to actively participate in the learning process. Flipbooks are able to create a more interesting and meaningful learning environment, despite technical constraints such as limited digital devices. This study found that flipbooks are an effective alternative for teaching Indonesian to elementary school students by improving their language skills.

Social media has become one of the main channels for disseminating information, including local news relevant to people’s daily lives. This study aims to analyze the reception of followers of the Instagram account @radarbogor.id in consuming local news. The research used a qualitative approach with a reception analysis method based on Stuart Hall’s theory, which classifies audience responses into dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, and oppositional positions. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with three informants who actively follow the account. The results show that the followers tend to interpret the content from dominant-hegemonic and negotiated positions. They consider the @radarbogor.id account to be a reliable and up-to-date news source, though some still independently verify the information. Factors that influence positive reception include the informative nature of the content, visually appealing design, and simple language. However, criticism was noted regarding the poor audio quality in video uploads, which can affect audience engagement. This study concludes that social media followers are not passive consumers but active interpreters of media messages who critically evaluate the information they receive.

This research looks into how well Duolingo and YouTube help people learn Japanese. A quantitative approach was taken, gathering information from 35 individuals through an online questionnaire. Participants were chosen based on whether they used Duolingo, YouTube, or both platforms. The questionnaire explored their past learning experiences, how they use these platforms, their preferences, how effective they think these tools are, and what challenges they encountered while learning. The findings reveal that most of the participants already had some background in Japanese and preferred online resources due to their accessibility, no cost, and fun features. Duolingo was liked for its organized, game-like approach, whereas YouTube was appreciated for its authentic, visual materials. A lot of people enjoyed learning at their own pace, finding listening and pronunciation to be useful strategies. Some individuals struggled with staying motivated and dealing with complicated grammar rules. To sum up, both Duolingo and YouTube are good resources for learning basic Japanese, especially for those studying on their own. However, they work best when used alongside other resources. It is suggested to combine digital tools with guidance from teachers for the best outcomes.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Drops app in improving Japanese vocabulary acquisition among beginners. Based on the theory of cognitivism, the study used a descriptive qualitative method with a sample of 21 subjects who answered 11 questions through a Google Form survey. Results showed that the use of Drops significantly increased the average vocabulary score by 43 % (from 28.5 to 40.7), which was influenced by the integration of gamification features and spaced repetition mechanism in the application. The majority of respondents (76 %) reported high satisfaction with ease of use, learning motivation, and effectiveness of visual illustrations, consistent with previous research on audiovisual and gamification-based mobile apps. However, about 24 % of respondents recorded medium to low scores on motivational aspects and interface appearance, indicating the need for UX/UI enhancements to expand adoption. Demographic statistics revealed the average age of respondents to be 18.38 years (Q1=17; median=18; Q3=20), confirming that teenagers and pre-adults are the main group of Drops users. The findings provide recommendations for both language education practitioners and app developers to optimize design and features to maximize vocabulary learning effectiveness.

This study analyzes the representation of women in the national movement within high school history textbooks of the Merdeka Curriculum using the Discourse-Historical Approach (DHA) by Ruth Wodak. The findings reveal that women appear eight times less frequently than men, with their roles concentrated in education (30%), social organizations (25%), and health (20%), while political and military roles are minimal. Language analysis shows that active-strategic diction dominates descriptions of male figures (85%), whereas passive-emotional diction prevails for female figures (60-70%). The narrative structure applies the Great Men Theory, placing women as supplements to the main story. Visual representation marginalizes women through smaller photo sizes, peripheral placement, and domestic contexts. Ideological analysis confirms that patriarchal structures dominate all discourse production dimensions, with the state scoring 5/5 and women as subjects scoring only 1/5. The deconstruction score averages 2.2 out of 10, indicating a significant gap from the ideal inclusive representation. These findings demonstrate that despite the Merdeka Curriculum's inclusive aspirations, history textbooks continue to reproduce gender biases that marginalize women's historical contributions.
