Household environmental problems such as poor waste management, the practice of burning waste, and limited use of home yards remain major challenges in creating clean and healthy residential areas. Dasawisma, as the smallest unit within the PKK structure, holds a strategic role in fostering environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior at the family level. This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to build an environmentally caring community through strengthening the role of Dasawisma, improving members' knowledge, and encouraging new habits in household environmental management. The method used a participatory approach consisting of problem identification, interactive counseling sessions, hands-on practice in waste management and yard utilization, and field mentoring. The results indicate an increase in members' understanding of environmental issues, behavioral changes in sorting organic and inorganic waste, simple composting practices, and the cultivation of plants in home yards. In addition, collective awareness and the emergence of local leaders helped sustain the environmental movement within the community. This program demonstrates that strengthening Dasawisma is an effective family-based empowerment strategy to support social transformation toward a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.

Environmental issues in Bumi Ayu Subdistrict are characterized by a low level of public awareness and understanding of the impacts of environmentally unfriendly behaviors, including the use of single-use plastics, water pollution, and waste burning. This condition presents a significant challenge to the implementation of sustainable development at the community level. This community service activity aims to enhance community participation in environmental conservation and to strengthen social awareness of sustainable development. The methods employed include interactive presentations and the development of informational media as accessible and effective educational tools. The results indicate an improvement in community understanding of the relationship between daily behaviors and environmental degradation, accompanied by the emergence of collective awareness and active participation in environmental conservation initiatives such as waste management and greening programs. Overall, this activity contributes to encouraging behavioral change toward environmentally responsible practices within the framework of sustainable social development.

Along with the growing public awareness of personal and environmental health, lipa sabbe products with natural colors are increasingly popular. Natural dyes are advantageous because they do not need to be imported, are safe for human health during the manufacturing process, do not pollute the environment, and are safe. Although synthetic dyes are easier to use, they are harmful to health, produce hazardous waste, pollute the environment, and are made from imported materials. This study aims to determine the types of plants that can be used as natural dyes for lipa sabbe. Qualitative methods with literature studies sourced from journals, books, or other related scientific articles are used in this research. The results showed that natural dyes in lipa sabbe became one of the Science Learning Resources with natural dyes including extracts from cocoa shell waste, coconut fiber waste, oil palm shell waste, rambutan peel waste, mangosteen peel waste, guava leaf waste, mango leaf waste and avocado leaf waste is plantation waste that can be used as a natural lipa sabbe dye. The pigments in this material produce yellow, reddish brown, gray, and black colors.   Keywords: , ,.

Lingkungan zero waste adalah lingkungan yang bebas dengan limbah disekitarnya, manakala kita membicarakan lingkungan nyaman, terbersit di benak kita adalah keadaan yang bersih tanpa banyak kotoran yang ada disekitarnya. Lingkungan saat ini banyak sekali kendala yang dihadapi, salah satunya adalah sampah yang menumpuk dan menjadi masalah berkepanjangan. Untuk menjadi lingkungan yang bersih maka kita harus ada keperdulian kita, salah satu cara dengan mengolah limbah menjadi bermanfaat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memanfaatkan janjang kosong dijadikan briket, sehingga lingkungan menjadi zero waste, mengetahui kualitas briket yang dibuat dari limbah janjang kosong.Metode eksperimental, yang dipakai dalam pembuatan briket adalah dengan cara penepungan kemudian mencampur dengan lem dan dilakukan pengovenan, selanjutnya untuk mengetahui kualitas briket yang dibuat dari limbah janjang kosong denagn cara uji analisis briket yang meliputi kadar air, kadar abu, lama nyala dan kekuatn tekan. Berdasarkan dari modifikasi metode penambahan janjang kosong yang berbeda beda. Proses awal sampel pertama  dari pembuatan briket adalah melakukan penimbangan bahan baku yaitu janjang kosong, dengan diameter prallon 2 inchi, dibutuhkan janjang kosong sebanyak 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 gr dan lem sebanyak 15 gr, dalam pencampurannya tidak menggunakan air. Setelah semua bahan sudah siap, kemudian dilakukan pengadukan secara rata, dan pengovenan pada suhu 60˚C, selama 6 Jam. Test uji yang dilaksanakan adalah kuat tekan 3.035 cm, lama nyala 2.8 menit, kadar air rata-rata 8.43 %, kadar abu rata-rata 24.2 %. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah test uji pada kadar abu terlalu tinggi sehingga perlu inovasi dalam pengeringan bahan baku.

Increasing consumer demand, including in the fashion sector, is directly proportional to the waste generated. Unconsciously, the fashion industry is one of the contributors to global pollution. One of the contributions is with a sustainable fashion. Awareness of environmental sustainability encourages environmentally friendly clothing styles become more popular. Designers are competing to make design collections with sustainable materials, It is the ecoprint fabric motif. Ecoprint means the technique of making motifs on cloth by tracing the leaves and then boiling them. Almost 100% of ecoprint fabrics are made using natural materials that are biodegradable. Creating fabrics with ecoprint motifs requires fabric materials derived from natural fibers, both plant and animal fiber. The dyes used come from nature, including from stems, leaves, flowers, fruit skins which when boiled are able to produce the same colors as chemical substances. The motif from leaves that produce natural colors, arranged in such a way is created kind of motif formation. Experimental methods of various in arranging leaves and flowers will produce unique different styles of motifs. Ecoprint as an alternative to sustainable Indonesian ‘Wastra’ expected will become more popular because of the uniqueness of the motifs, sustainable and the high selling price.

Mercury (Hg) is a metal that is commonly found in water and has toxic properties, so it is very dangerous for human health and the environment. Mercury in the environment can come from gold mining activities such as in Pesanggaran Village, Banyuwangi. Based on information from the surrounding community, the waste disposal flowed into the river and it was feared to affect the quality of river water in this area. This study aimed to analyze the mercury level in the river water using the UV-Visible Spectrophotometer method, where river water samples were taken from the upstream, middle, and downstream parts. Determination of mercury levels was carried out at the STIKES Banyuwangi Laboratory. The results showed that the Hg content in the river water around the gold mining area of Pesanggaran Village, Banyuwangi ranged from 0.031 to 0.033 mg/L. The Hg level of river water in this area was above the threshold and it was not recommended to use as drinking, bathing, cooking or washing. However, it is necessary to analyze Hg levels using other methods, such as the AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy) method which is more expensive but more accurate results will be obtained.

Obituaries are one of the information that is often conveyed, especially in the Whatsapp application media. Delivering an obituary is even recommended in Islam and a response in the form of expressions of condolences also accompanies this recommendation. However, a phenomenon occurred in the form of using stickers in expressions of condolences. This gives rise to different views about whether it is polite or not. This study aims to analyze the meaning of the condolence sticker from the point of view of language politeness by using a qualitative descriptive method. From the point of view of semiotics, the use of stickers to convey condolences has fulfilled the function of communication. Meanwhile, according to politeness theory, this is not justified. The majority of scholars also consider the use of stickers to convey condolences is also a waste of time.

Tema KKN Tematik yang diangkat oleh Universitas Janabadra Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023 adalah “KKN UJB Melalui Circular Economy Menuju Bantul Zero Waste 2025.” Dalam hal ini, sampah sebagai berkah untuk keberlangsungan dan kelestarian lingkungan. Di Padukuhan Joho, Kalurahan Jambidan, Kapanewon Banguntapan, Bantul masih terdapat sampah yang belum terkelola dengan baik. Terlihat beberapa permasalahan yang perlu dipecahkan guna meningkatkan pengelolaan sampah menjadi suatu hal yang bermanfaat. Sehingga diperlukan adanya beberapa program yang mampu memotivasi warga padukuhan Joho terkait pengelolaan sampah, salah satunya yaitu melalui pemanfaatan sampah rumah tangga menjadi media vertikultur. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat Padukuhan Joho tentang pengelolaan sampah plastik berupa botol dan budidaya tanaman secara vertikultur dengan memanfaatkan botol bekas serta mampu menyiapkan media tanaman. Metode kegiatan ini yaitu dilakukan dengan pelaksanaan secara langsung mengenai pemanfaatan sampah rumah tangga sebagai media vertikultur. Hal tersebut memberikan dampak yang positif, yaitu terdapat beberapa tanaman vertikultur yang memberikan manfaat bagi warga, serta disisi lain dengan adanya vertikultur tersebut dapat mengurangi sampah botol air mineral bekas yang sudah tidak terpakai.

Unclean environmental conditions and unhealthy behavior are the causes of the problem of the emergence of infectious diseases. One example of poor clean, healthy living behavior is the lack of awareness in disposing of waste in its place and improper ways of managing household waste. Almost all areas are experiencing difficulties obtaining land as a final disposal site. The government cannot solve the problem of household waste alone. Sentong Village does not correctly manage waste; for example, all waste is burned, and there is no separation between organic and inorganic waste. The purpose of this community service is to increase public awareness by increasing general knowledge about proper waste management and empowering the community to manage waste with the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle method as one of the appropriate methods in processing household waste. The results of community service activities show that the community is quite enthusiastic when given information about proper waste management; the methods used in these activities are the lecture and discussion methods, then pre-test and post-test are carried out; the community who attended the training were 15 people, and residents agreed to apply the right way of processing waste, starting with the correct way of disposing of waste, namely distinguishing between organic and inorganic waste, so as not to litter in front of the house.

Technology developments in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 provide many opportunities to improve supply chain performance and performance. The existence of the waste processing industry as a business has prospects for development, given the large amount of waste generated by the community and the need for several processed products. PT A reduced the amount of garbage that accumulates in the final disposal site (TPA) by reprocessing the waste produced by the community. The existence of waste banks, government agencies, hotels, zoos, and Islamic boarding schools is one of the sources of waste that is processed for waste products. This paper seeks to develop the concept of a digital supply chain by adopting the supply chain model run by PT A. The initial identification presented in this paper can result in several technology identifications that need to be prioritized in implementing relevant technologies in the industry. The service focuses on training on processing glass waste as the main ingredient in making mosaic works, themed on folklore. Aims to provide knowledge about the potential of glass waste, and the technical practice of processing it to become a mosaic work. The training participants were a group of young people from Noloro, located in Sawit, Panggungharjo, Bantul DIY. The method used in the implementation is ADDIE, which stands for the stages of the process itself, namely Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The result of the training is a mosaic work from glass waste, taking the theme of one of the folk tales from Bantul Regency, namely about the Krapyak Stage as well because it is a very iconic building.

Children with disabilities are part of diversity, but there are problems such as the lack of character formation of children, not yet optimal in developing the potential and limited skills and independence of children with disabilities. So the PKM-PM team at Slamet Riyadi University Surakarta provided a mentoring activity through the application of the aquaponics system in order to empower children with disabilities in improving the life skills of children with disabilities at YPAC Professor Doctor Soeharso Surakarta. The methods applied in this service include: (1) providing counseling and socialization related to the aquaponics system, (2) aquaponics assembly, (3) training related to aquaponics seeding and care, and (4) monitoring the development of aquaponics. The result of this service is that children with disabilities who become participants during the service process have gained knowledge related to the aquaponics system. Children routinely carry out maintenance such as spraying hydroponic vegetables, feeding catfish to cleaning fish waste at the bottom of the pond. Assistance is carried out to train the independence and responsibility of children with disabilities in aquaponic care as well as become vocational skills for them which if aquaponics continues to be developed it will become a source of income for children with disabilities, especially those living in dormitories. This service has achieved the expected results and the sustainability of this program continues to be carried out with a monitoring pattern. Garbage is the rest of the goods that are not used in human daily life. In this day and age, waste is a scourge of endless problems in everyday life, most people do not know how to recycle the waste, one of which is the people of Sei Rotan Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. Sei Rotan Village has fertile soil so that the people there, especially mothers, take advantage of the fertile land to channel their hobbies by planting various types of flowers and will place them in the yard of the house, but the Sei Rattan Village women share their hobby of planting flowers with buy the pot even though with the garbage it can produce a beautiful pot. With that we held an activity of making flower pots with used cloth as a planting medium which aims to reduce waste and create creative things such as flower pots from used cloth as a planting medium.The activity of making flower pots from used materials as planting media uses stages as a process to create the flower pot work. In this activity we target the community, especially women in Sei Rotan Village. The waste by creating good works is more than just a pot product such as bags, chairs, etc., and also the people of Sei Rotan Village increase their turnover by selling pots with recycled materials and reducing spending on buying flower pots.

This study aims to utilize rice washing wastewater as a potential raw material for bioethanol production using enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation methods. The wastewater is treated with amylase enzyme to break down starch into simple sugars, which are then fermented using yeast to produce ethanol. The research involves optimizing process conditions such as temperature, pH, enzyme concentration, and fermentation time. The results indicate that rice washing wastewater has the potential to be an efficient raw material for bioethanol production. Thus, this study contributes to the development of renewable energy sources and the utilization of agricultural waste to create a more sustainable economic cycle.

Based on the experimental study about corncob conducted before, this village has managed to create a new breakthrough production of processed foods such as corn chips since 2003. The foods that use raw materials of corn is the only one in Probolinggo. Corn chips production as small industries is run by 7 women farmers starting in 2008. (Wahmuda, 2013). The problem of this industrial activity is unbalancing the marketing area with market demand that obstruct continues to increase. This causes decrease on the productivity of the industry. In addition corncob waste left over from a small industrial activities corn chips squashed every day as much as 60 kg. This would be a major obstacle when marketing targets to reach market demand. As a result of waste corn cobs will be more numerous and uncontrolled, even less the corn cob waste is only used as cooking fuel. This research includes experiments on corn cobs process is divided into several stages, namely the process of forming, heating, curing, mixing and merging material, as well as coloring. From the research-based experiments, it turns out corn cobs to have a variety of characteristics. The uniqueness and characteristics process of corncobs, can give some variant forms such as cubes, cylinders, triangles, and a chopped form. Of these forms can be created several patterns of merger between a very interesting form to be used as a hanging lamp shade products. In the manufacture of a hanging lampshade required supporting materials such as iron chandelier hook pipe diameter of 16 mm and an iron plate with a thickness of 3 mm. Innovation alternative these products will continue at the stage of the development process of product design by using corn cobs as raw material products with the hope to utilize more leverage on how to process forms such a way into a useful product in terms of people's needs, aesthetic value and become friendly products environment.

Kebutuhan akan konsumsi energi listrik sangat tinggi dan semua aktivitas manusia banyak yang menggunakan energi listrik. Listrik juga sangat dibutuhkan pada industri, karna seluruh alat hampir semua menggunakan listrik. Karna penggunaan listrik sangat besar pada PT. Cemindo Gemilang membangun unit WHRS (Waste Heats Recovery System) untuk menyuplai listrik. Dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana prinsip kerja serta proses kerja pada WHRS. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan observasi dan wawancara untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pada WHRS tersebut. Hasil kesimpulan yaitu Waste Heats Recovery System ini merupakan pembangkit listrik yang menggunakan sisa panas atau flue gas sebagai pengganti batu bara untuk memanaskan air pada boiler.

This study aims to obtain data on the impact of noise pollution by conducting a noise test from the operation of the PLTD and modeling it to get the noise impact hue. Finite element software modeling the impact of noise generated from the operation of PLTD to determine the hue of the noise impact. LISA, a popular finite element analysis application, was used to estimate and complete this study using the finite element model. Noise data retrieval, some data is carried out according to the engine power load during production and the machine stops with a certain distance reference to the affected area, namely residential areas, with a zone radius of up to 100 m from the machine point. The condition of the impact of noise exposure that occurs, where in general the area that has a major impact on settlements is a linear area of openings at the noise source because noise waste is free to come out of building openings without any obstacles. , so that the nominal sound impact that occurs without these obstacles, the average noise value is above the 70 dB.A threshold with the category of very disturbing.

Garbage is a problem that has become a global environmental issue. Problems that arise in each region can vary, whether it is about the accumulation of organic or non-organic waste. One solution to this waste problem is the existence of waste processing activities. Waste processing is part of waste management by reducing the amount of waste, in addition to utilizing the values contained in the waste itself (recycled materials, other products, and energy). Waste management is crucial and important at this time, given the large volume of waste generated in each region and needs to be handled to keep the environment clean and nice. The waste problem in Semarang Regency, especially in the Demak District, is the chosen place in this study. Through the study of literature, followed by the related waste in each village in the exploration, by the development of solutions for each problem. Organic waste that can be processed into organic fertilizer, non-organic waste, especially plastic can be a advantogous material to produce paving blocks. The results of this research are also compiled in the form of an educative and interesting ebook to inspire the community and encourage positive activities for the community.
