This study aims to analyze meaningful and effective learning assessments applied in the classroom. This research method uses Literature Review by reviewing 12 articles that are in accordance with the material discussed. The results showed that authentic assessments, which involve contextual and relevant tasks, were more effective in improving critical thinking skills than traditional assessments that focused on repetition of information. These findings are supported by Bloom's theory of constructivism and taxonomy, as well as previous studies that show that authentic assessment also increases learning motivation. Students are able to demonstrate what they understand about the learning carried out in accordance with the context of their lives. This will be effective if it is more formative that provides various information in the form of continuous feedback for teachers and students. The implication of this study is the importance of implementing authentic assessments in the curriculum and teaching strategies to maximize the development of students' critical thinking skills, in order to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Education is a very important factor for the development of a country. Education helps develop and improve skills and improves the quality of life and human dignity. To date, changes have been made to the curriculum. The curriculum is considered a plan developed to facilitate the teaching and learning process which is the responsibility of the school or educational institution and its teaching staff. (Yulia, 2023). Education in Indonesia has undergone curriculum changes 11 times. Starting from after independence until the latest in 2021-2022. This research aims to compare the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum at State Elementary School 064037 and understand the differences between the two in improving the quality of education. The method used is qualitative research with a content analysis and narrative analysis approach. In-depth content analysis is carried out on written and printed information from mass media to identify message characteristics objectively and systematically. Data was collected through interviews and reviewing controversial mass media news. The research results show that the Merdeka Curriculum, which has only been implemented in grades 1 and 4, gives students greater freedom in the use of knowledge, both inside and outside school, and encourages teacher and student creativity. In contrast, the 2013 Curriculum balances soft skills and hard skills in an integrative manner but still places educators as the main assessors of student abilities. Observations show that the Merdeka Curriculum encourages students to play an active role in learning, with educators acting as facilitators. This change in curriculum leads to a more student-centric approach, where students receive active feedback regarding their self-evaluation. These findings confirm that the Merdeka Curriculum promotes more independent and participatory learning compared to the 2013 Curriculum.

Concept mastery is the level of learning outcomes where students can explain or define lesson concepts using their own sentences or parts of them. This research approach uses a qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative research is about describing the meaning of data or phenomena that can be captured by researchers, by showing evidence. The meaning of this phenomenon depends a lot on the researcher's ability and sharpness in analyzing (Abdussamad, 2021: 30-31). The results obtained from this research come from documentation data. From the documentation data, 24 students will analyze the understanding of mathematical concepts in class X AKL SMKS SEMESTA, Depok. The results per category can be concluded that there are 15 respondents or 64% of students who have a high level of ability to understand mathematical concepts in logarithm material with high criteria, then there are 7 respondents or 29% of students who have a level of ability to understand mathematical concepts of logarithm material with medium criteria, and there are 2 respondents or 8% of students who have a low level of ability to understand mathematical concepts regarding logarithm material..
