Legal protection is an effort made by the government to protect its citizens in accordance with legal regulations that aim to realize justice, legal certainty, and benefits. The application of law is a system that aims to regulate and protect every action or behavior that occurs within the scope of society with various norms and sanctions that are binding and coercive in order to prevent problems from occurring. Every person who commits a crime will certainly be held accountable in the form of sanctions for the violations committed. In this writing process, the normative legal research method or normative juridical method is used using a statutory approach, a conceptual approach, and a comparative approach. A crime in general can also be caused by actions or deeds that are not directly carried out with an element of intent in the form of protection or self-defense. Accountability for criminal acts on the basis of self-defense in this case can be justified as long as it meets the requirements and limitations according to legal provisions. Thus, self-defense efforts in the criminal act process cannot be punished if they meet the elements of self-protection because there is no way out, meet the unlawful nature, for the benefit of oneself, others and public order issues, and do not go against the norms that live in society.

This research analyzes legal smuggling related to the principle of freedom of contract reflected in Book III of the Civil Code. The parties are free to draft any clause based on an agreement. However, it cannot be denied that the principle of freedom of contract is often misused to commit legal smuggling in agreements, which makes the deal seem legally valid, even though there are mixed legal provisions, thus causing irregularities and losses for parties who are in a weak position. This research method uses normative legal research by examining library materials with legal materials, such as laws and regulations, books, legal journals, and legal articles. The results of this study indicate that the actions taken by the dominant party, in this case, fulfill the elements of legal smuggling which also intersect with the act of abuse of circumstances, thus forming a tort committed by the dominant party in the agreement.

Abstract. Semiotic analysis of advertising aims to uncover the hidden meanings behind visual and textual elements presented in promotional content. This study explores the semiotic features in smartphone advertising, focusing on Oppo as a case study. This study uses a comparative framework to analyze the similarities and differences between Oppo advertising and competing brands. The analysis is conducted through Charles Sanders Peirce's triadic model, consisting of representamen, object, and interpretant, as well as Roland Barthes' concepts of denotation and connotation. Global phenomena highlight the increasing attention to entrepreneurship as a solution to reduce unemployment and promote sustainable economic growth (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth). On a local level, vocational high school (SMK) graduates in Indonesia face the challenge of low entrepreneurial intention, which has the potential to exacerbate youth unemployment rates. This study aims to explore entrepreneurship learning strategies and the contribution of teacher behavior in shaping the entrepreneurial intentions of SMK students through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The novelty of this research lies in integrating two key elements—innovative learning strategies and teacher behavior as role models—which have been minimally discussed in previous literature. The urgency of this research stems from its contribution to SDG 4 (Quality Education), by strengthening entrepreneurship education as a foundation for developing a competitive workforce. The method employed in this study is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which involves collecting and analyzing relevant journal articles using VOSviewer software based on selected keywords. The findings indicate that project-based and collaborative learning approaches enable students to directly experience real-world business challenges, such as developing business ideas and working in teams to solve practical problems. Teacher behavior, serving as both facilitator and motivator, plays a crucial role in encouraging students to dream big, believe in their abilities, and view entrepreneurship as an attractive career path. The implications of this research provide practical insights for educators and policymakers in designing effective entrepreneurship curricula while supporting the SDG agenda, particularly in promoting quality education, decent work, and inclusive economic growth. This study contributes to the reinforcement of sustainable entrepreneurship education in Indonesia.

Maritime piracy has long been a significant threat to global shipping, with profound economic and legal implications. This journal explores the economic effects and legal actions associated with maritime piracy. The economic impact of piracy is substantial, costing the international economy between $7 billion and $12 billion annually. The rise in piracy has led to higher ransom demands, with some payments reaching record amounts, and has significantly increased the cost of maritime insurance, particularly in high-risk zones. From a legal perspective, the journal examines the evolution of piracy laws, highlighting the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and its definition of piracy. The legal framework under UNCLOS includes three main elements: acts committed for private ends, occurring on the high seas, and involving two ships. The journal also discusses the concept of universal jurisdiction, which allows any state to prosecute pirates, though prosecution must follow the domestic laws of the capturing state. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has introduced several conventions and initiatives, such as the Djibouti Code of Conduct, to enhance maritime security. This journal will focus on the economical effect and the suitable legal actions to punish and prevent the acts of piracy.

Digital Business students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Tasikmalaya Campus recognize the importance of Quality Assurance (QA), but many do not fully grasp the concept. This study aims to describe and evaluate students’ understanding of QA, with the goal of bridging the gap between awareness and application in the field of Digital Business. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, employing a Probability Sampling technique with a Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling approach. Results indicate that students generally have a good understanding of QA, especially in grasping basic concepts and the significance of QA for product quality. However, some dimensions of QA remain less understood, particularly regarding practical application in the industry. The depth of understanding varies; most students have a sufficient basic grasp, but only a few can relate QA concepts to real-world case studies. Based on these findings, the Digital Business Study Program is advised to integrate practical elements into the QA curriculum, such as QA simulations, industry case studies, and collaborative projects with companies. This is expected to enhance students’ understanding and bridge the gap between QA theory and practice. Future research could test the effectiveness of various QA teaching approaches and compare understanding across different study programs.   duk
