Schizophrenia is a severe neuropsychiatric disorder that affects approximately 1% of the population, and is characterized by serious impairments in cognition, emotion and social functioning. The MTHFR gene is a key enzyme in folic acid metabolism, which plays an important role in biochemical processes in the body. One of the common genetic polymorphisms in MTHFR is C677T (rs1801133). Relevant articles were searched through an electronic database, Google Scholar, using the keywords “Relationship Between MTHFR C677T Gene and Schizophrenia”. MTHFR C677T can affect homocysteine metabolism, which in turn can affect the production of brain neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin. An imbalance of these neurotransmitters has long been associated with schizophrenia. Environmental factors, such as stress, trauma, and social factors, also play an important role in the development of mental disorders, along with genetic factors such as MTHFR C677T.

Elderly individuals often experience physiological and health-related changes, including reduced muscle quality and decreased levels of physical activity. This decline negatively impacts overall health, increases the risk of chronic diseases, and diminishes the ability to perform daily activities. This study aimed to examine the relationship between vitamin D levels and physical activity in older adults. A cross-sectional study was conducted at the Bina Bhakti Nursing Home involving 93 participants aged 60 years and above. Physical activity was assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), while vitamin D levels were measured through venous blood sampling. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation. The average age of the participants was 74.34 years, with a mean vitamin D level of 23.73 ng/mL. Based on IPAQ results, 26.9% of participants had low physical activity, 44.1% moderate, and 29% high. Spearman correlation revealed a weak but statistically significant positive correlation between vitamin D levels and physical activity (r = 0.240, p = 0.021). These findings suggest that higher physical activity levels are associated with higher vitamin D concentrations. Engaging in outdoor activities that promote sun exposure and an active lifestyle contributes to maintaining adequate vitamin D levels, which are essential for muscle function, balance, and bone health. Therefore, ensuring sufficient vitamin D status is crucial for supporting optimal physical activity and enhancing the overall health and quality of life among the elderly.

The detection of hazardous gases, such as carbon monoxide (CO), is crucial for ensuring human safety and health, especially in enclosed environments or areas with a high potential for exposure to toxic gases. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is extremely dangerous when inhaled in large amounts. Therefore, a CO detection system that can provide early warnings is essential. This research aims to design a carbon monoxide (CO) detector using the MQ-7 sensor, which can detect CO concentrations in the air. The detection system is developed based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology, enabling real-time CO detection data to be transmitted to a cloud platform or user devices via an internet connection. This allows users to monitor CO levels in their environment anytime and anywhere. The system consists of the MQ-7 sensor to detect CO levels, a microcontroller as the controller, and a communication module to send data to the internet. The main advantage of this system is its ability to notify users if CO levels exceed a safe threshold. Thus, this detector can function as a preventive tool against CO exposure accidents. The use of IoT in this system also facilitates remote monitoring, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of managing a safe environment.

This study aims to identify the optimal model in the integration of philosophical disciplines in the structure of the educational program of “Public Administration” students, as well as explore the features of the management of educational strategies suitable for the training of civil servants. The main focus of this research is: 1) academic management strategies to overcome curriculum overlap due to the dominance of philosophical disciplines in public administration study programs; 2) adaptation of educational programs for public administration students to be in line with the needs of the world of work, both at national and international levels; 3) characteristics of internationalization of public administration education programs, especially in the context of academic mobility and adaptation of the Indonesian public administration system to global standards. This research uses the cultural-historical analysis approach, comparative method, structural-functional method, and expert evaluation to explore and analyze problems and develop solutions. The research findings show that the dominance of traditional philosophy courses in the curriculum is often ineffective in shaping the competencies needed in the world of work. The research identified three main challenges: saturation of the curriculum with theoretical courses, lack of connection between the curriculum and the practical needs of the working world, and low use of English in teaching key courses. To address these issues, this research proposes restructuring the curriculum through the integration of three disciplinary groups: applied logic, cultural studies, and applied political science. In addition, the implementation of a contextualized bilingual learning model is also considered as a solution to improve the relevance of the curriculum. The uniqueness of this article lies in its approach that combines philosophical studies with managerial strategies in curriculum design, complemented by empirical experiences from international and cross-institutional cooperation. This article offers a reinterpretation of the utilization of philosophy as a tool for the development of professional competence in public administration education, not just as an abstract worldview.

This study synthesized novel sulfadiazine-imine derivatives (A1 and A2) using a microwave-assisted method by reacting sulfadiazine with orsellinaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzaldehyde. The synthesis involved the nucleophilic addition of sulfadiazine to the aldehyde groups, forming imine bonds efficiently under microwave irradiation within 15 minutes. The antibacterial efficacy of the synthesized derivatives was tested against Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Escherichia coli using agar well diffusion methods. The derivatives A1 and A2 exhibited significantly improved antibacterial activities compared to sulfadiazine, with A1 showing the highest efficacy. Specifically, inhibition zones for Bacillus subtilis reached 26 mm (A1 at 100 mg/mL) compared to 20 mm for sulfadiazine, and similar trends were observed against E. coli and S. pneumoniae. Furthermore, the cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 breast cancer cells revealed that both derivatives demonstrated dose-dependent cytotoxicity. For derivative A1, cell viability decreased to 19% at 320 ppm with an estimated IC50 between 40 and 80 ppm. Derivative A2 showed comparable cytotoxic behavior, with cell viability dropping to 12.6% at the highest concentration tested. The enhanced antibacterial and anticancer properties are attributed to increased lipophilicity and improved cellular penetration conferred by the imine functional group. This research highlights the potential of microwave-assisted derivatization of sulfadiazine to produce compounds with promising therapeutic applications.

Handling drug abuse is one of the main focuses in the Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) efforts in Indonesia. In this context, medical and social rehabilitation plays an important role as a recovery effort for addicts to return to optimal functioning in society. This community service activity uses a qualitative approach with a combination of observation, interview, and digital-based direct intervention methods in handling medical and social rehabilitation for drug abusers. This community service activity successfully implemented a digital-based medical and social rehabilitation strategy in supporting the P4GN program with a smart power approach. A web-based information system and mobile application designed to facilitate registration, monitoring, and mentoring of rehabilitation patients were successfully developed. This system provides easy access to information for the community and drug abusers to register and obtain rehabilitation services efficiently without having to come directly to the rehabilitation facility. The digital rehabilitation system is integrated with national electronic medical record platforms (such as SIRENA and the Ministry of Health's SATU SEHAT service), thus facilitating coordination between institutions and ensuring continuous monitoring of client health during and after the rehabilitation period. This community service activity successfully demonstrated that the handling of medical and social rehabilitation in a digital-based P4GN strategy with a smart power approach is an effective solution in an effort to realize a drug-free society. The smart power approach that integrates hard power (law enforcement) and soft power (prevention, community empowerment, and rehabilitation) with the support of digital information technology can improve the accessibility, effectiveness, and quality of rehabilitation services.
