This meta-analysis systematically and comprehensively examines the structural and functional roles of the extended family in moderating the psychological impact of war trauma in the Middle East by compiling data from 47 independent studies involving 12,483 participants published between 2000 and 2023. An analytical approach using a random-effects model revealed that the presence and involvement of the extended family demonstrated a statistically significant moderating effect on the reduction of PTSD symptoms, anxiety, and depression, with an association strength of r = .42 (p < .001). Further meta-regression results indicated that support from the extended family contributed to a 37.8% reduction in PTSD symptoms (β = -.378, SE = .042, p < .001), a 29.4% decrease in anxiety levels (β = -.294, SE = .038, p < .001), and a 31.2% reduction in depressive symptoms (β = -.312, SE = .040, p < .001). Analysis of moderator variables showed that the protective effect of the extended family structure was more pronounced among children (r = .48) compared to the adult population (r = .38) and more salient among females (r = .45) than males (r = .39), indicating demographic sensitivity to the type of collective support received. Moreover, the high heterogeneity across studies (I² = 76.3%) indicated significant contextual and methodological diversity, though it did not obscure the core findings. These results contradict the theoretical emphasis advanced by Nakeyar and Frewen (2016) and Atallah (2017), who prioritized the role of the nuclear family in post-war healing contexts. In contrast, this study found that the extended family configuration has provided a more comprehensive and multidimensional form of psychological protection rooted in the distinct collectivistic values of Middle Eastern societies. Ultimately, these findings expand the conceptual horizon for understanding resilience mechanisms to trauma within non-Western cultural landscapes and open new possibilities for developing extended family-based interventions in the context of post-conflict psychosocial reconstruction.

This systematic review aims to comprehensively evaluate the consequences of social marginalization on the mental health conditions of populations in Middle Eastern conflict zones, utilizing data from 2015 to 2024. Through a critical examination of 47 studies that met the inclusion criteria, a markedly high prevalence of mental disorders within this population was identified, namely post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at 42.8% (95% CI = 38.4–47.2), major depression at 37.6% (95% CI = 33.2–42.0), and generalized anxiety disorder at 35.3% (95% CI = 31.1–39.5). Furthermore, the results of the meta-analysis revealed a very strong and statistically significant correlation between social marginalization and the severity of mental health disorders (r = 0.73, p < 0.001), indicating that the more intensely an individual experiences various forms of social marginalization, the more severe the psychological disorders they endure. Moreover, the three most dominant determinants of social marginalization were identified as limited access to healthcare services (OR = 3.82, 95% CI = 3.14–4.50), the persistence of systemic discrimination (OR = 3.45, 95% CI = 2.87–4.03), and widespread social isolation (OR = 3.21, 95% CI = 2.66–3.76). These findings not only expand upon the prior research outcomes of Al-Krenawi and Graham (2009) and Amsalem et al. (2025), which were confined to the aspect of PTSD but also provide new empirical evidence concerning a broader spectrum of mental disorders as well as specific patterns of social marginalization within the conflict landscape of the Middle East. Finally, this study contributes significantly to the academic literature by elaborating on the complex interactive mechanisms between practices of social marginalization and mental health deterioration while offering a framework for community-based interventions that are responsive and adaptive to the socio-political conditions characteristic of Middle Eastern conflict zones.

Based on various studies and studies, the LGBT phenomenon in Indonesia, especially in the Pekanbaru area, is still often viewed negatively because it is considered contrary to local social and cultural norms. Several factors that influence the emergence of LGBT sexual orientation include childhood experiences, the influence of the social environment, and conditions within the family. Psychological interventions such as group counseling with the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) approach combined with religious values, such as in Islamic counseling, have proven effective in reducing inner conflict, increasing the ability to manage emotions, and encouraging acceptance and self-confidence of LGBT individuals. This approach also helps replace irrational thought patterns and strengthens emotional resilience, although cultural and social challenges are still major obstacles. On the other hand, the importance of multicultural competence for professionals is also highly emphasized in dealing with issues related to LGBT and their emotional health. Education about sexuality and increasing public understanding of diversity are considered important to reduce stigma and discrimination against the LGBT community. Overall, the results of this study indicate the need for an appropriate psychological approach and educational efforts to create social acceptance and improve the welfare of LGBT individuals.

The death of a child is one of the most profound and difficult forms of grief to deal with, especially for a mother who never imagined losing her child suddenly, where the death often triggers a prolonged grief process. To achieve self-acceptance, according to Kubler-Ross, a person will go through five stages, namely denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Whereas in an Islamic perspective, self-acceptance is seen through the concept of ikhlas and rida which become a guide in dealing with grief. This study aims to determine the stages of mother's self-acceptance after death, the psychological impact caused, and the Islamic perspective on self-acceptance. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type. This study involved three mother informants who lost their youngest child to a traffic accident. The results of this study indicate that the three informants have not achieved self-acceptance and did not fully pass through the stages of the Kubler-Ross theory, such as the first informant passing through the stages of anger, bargaining, and depression, the second informant passing through the stages of denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, and the third informant only passing through the stages of denial and depression. The psychological impacts felt by the three informants include numbness, deep sadness, longing, stress, and trauma. In an Islamic perspective, ikhlas and rida are only understood verbally by informants, which is due to the strong bond between mother and child, so that to achieve complete self-acceptance, a spiritual approach such as therapy with ustadz/ustadzah or Islamic therapists is needed, as well as family support that consistently accompanies and listens, which can help mothers accept these events with sincerity.

The selection of group counseling interventions in addressing learners' problems shows high effectiveness because it utilizes group dynamics that support the development of emotional aspects, cognition, and communication skills. Group counseling has an important role in the preventive, curative, and developmental functions of learners, both in terms of mental health, social skills, academics, and career planning. Group counseling is a relevant form of counseling service to deal with learners' problems that are urgent and have similarities, and serves as a means of holistic self-development. The effectiveness of this service depends not only on productivity, but also the perspectives of counseling teachers, students, and the efficiency of implementation, all of which are influenced by the professional competence of counselors according to national standards. Effectiveness itself is understood as success in achieving service goals, which includes internal and external factors of service implementers. In its implementation, different group counseling approaches and techniques can still achieve optimal results when adjusted to the problems and needs of students. The use of the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy approach in group counseling is proven to increase participants' understanding of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and strengthen group interaction in depth. Strategies and innovations in counseling techniques or methods need to be adjusted to strengthen the effectiveness of the service, while participant activeness and the dynamics of social interaction are important factors in supporting the success of group counseling. Therefore, collaboration between group members is needed so that the counseling process runs smoothly and service goals can be achieved optimally.

This study discusses the effectiveness of medical and psychosocial interventions in the rehabilitation of drug addicted children. Drug abuse in children is a serious problem that can damage a person's physical and mental health and threaten the future of the nation. The main solution in a situation like this is rehabilitation, which aims to eliminate the child's physical dependence and also restore the child's social and psychological condition so that they can interact with others normally again. This study examines how rehabilitation programs are implemented in Indonesia. This study examines problems such as limited facilities, social stigma, lack of personnel, and the ineffective combination of medical and psychosocial approaches. In addition, this study examines Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics which regulates the rehabilitation of drug addicted children. This study shows that successful rehabilitation must combine medical treatment and psychological and social support from families, health workers, psychologists, and the surrounding environment and society also need to help. This method not only helps children recover from addiction, but also prevents them from being treated as criminals and helps them be accepted back into the social environment. Therefore, in order for this program to be more friendly, continue to run well, and provide long-term benefits for children and society, cooperation from various parties and improvement of the quality of rehabilitation services are needed.

The DPR together with the President still stipulates the revision of the KPK Law, namely Law No. 19 of 2019 concerning the KPK. Apart from that, it also sees that the IPK (Corruption Perception Index) in Indonesia continues to increase every year. Therefore, why is the author here interested in this theme because the KPK itself is being hotly discussed by the public, especially the TWK (National Interview Test) which makes the KPK even more chaotic. In a democratic society, the KPK is very important. However, in reality, the KPK is currently being oppressed, criminalization and other actions that in this case weaken the KPK continue to occur. So, is it true that in the era of President Jokowi like during the New Order or the Soeharto government. What is the strategy to foster an anti-corruption attitude in the younger generation in particular, considering that corruption cases in Indonesia itself are still ingrained. Then how is the case that occurred at the KPK if analyzed in the context of legal philosophy studies. The results of the study show that first, the criminalization of the KPK is seen in the utilitarianism school where the author uses the opinion of Jeremy Bentham (the founder of the utilitarianism school). Bentham stated that good law is a law that can fulfill the principle of maximizing happiness and minimizing pain in society. Second, regarding the revision of the KPK Law seen in the context of the legal realism school, which the author quotes from the opinion of Axel Hegerstrom (one of the Scandinavian legal realism figures). That the opinion conveyed by Hagerstrom is that the law must be based on empirical reality that is in accordance with the psychological feelings of each individual.   Keywords: Corruption Eradication Commission; Polemic; KPK Law; Indonesia

Restorative justice, originally designed to protect the future of the offender's child, in practice creates new inequalities by failing to ensure justice and protection for victims, particularly in the context of sexual crimes with severe physical and psychological consequences. This research emphasizes the need to critically evaluate the application of restorative justice in child rape cases, so that it does not become a shortcut to solving cases without comprehensively considering the rights of victims and the principles of substantive justice. This research criticizes the application of restorative justice in the juvenile criminal justice system, particularly in rape cases involving children as both perpetrators and victims. Using a normative legal approach, this research analyzes how restorative justice is prioritized as a form of peaceful resolution, but may ignore the rights and overall recovery of victims.

Basketball is a dynamic team sport that emphasizes hand coordination, requiring players to score by shooting the ball into the opponent’s hoop. The game involves five players per team and demands mastery of several fundamental technical skills, including throwing and catching, dribbling, shooting, pivoting, and lay-up techniques. One of the highest individual achievements in basketball is being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP), a title awarded to athletes who demonstrate exceptional performance during a game or tournament. This study aims to analyze the determining factors behind an athlete achieving MVP status, specifically focusing on LeBron James from the United States basketball team during the 2024 Paris Olympics final match against France. The research employs a descriptive method with data collection through document analysis, particularly using official match statistics. The assessment includes both physical performance metrics—such as points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, turnovers, and fouls—and psychological aspects, such as mental toughness during competition. Statistical data from the match showed that LeBron James recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 10 assists, 2 steals, 5 turnovers, and 3 fouls. His shooting efficiency was also high, with a 60% field goal percentage (6/10), 62.5% on two-point shots (5/8), 50% on three-point shots (1/2), and 100% on free throws (1/1). The findings indicate that high contributions in both offensive and defensive aspects significantly influence the MVP designation. This study concludes that MVP recognition is strongly supported by measurable statistical performance and recommends that coaches integrate performance analysis technology to maximize athlete potential based on individual needs.
