Criminal law policy in Indonesia saw significant modifications with the adoption of the new Criminal Code (KUHP), particularly with regard to the regulation of cohabitation and adultery. Because it directly affects people's private life and may have an impact on human rights protection, this arrangement has sparked discussion in the community. This study intends to investigate the application of the penal provisions of adultery and cohabitation in the new penal Code and examine its consequences for the protection of human rights. The research method applied was normative legal research with a legislative, conceptual, and human rights approach. The study's findings show that the regulation and implementation of laws relating to adultery and promiscuity can lead to issues in law enforcement, particularly those relating to the right to privacy, the proportionality of punishment principle, and the potential for actual abuse of power. The conclusion of this study underlines the necessity for the judicial implementation of the law and geared towards the protection of human rights, as well as the examination of criminal law policies to be in line with the ideals of the rule of law, democracy, and respect for individual freedom.

In contemporary higher education, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is increasingly expected to prepare learners for meaningful professional participation rather than isolated linguistic performance. Nevertheless, ESP pedagogy has often remained predominantly skill-oriented, with limited conceptual integration of pedagogical innovations such as project-based learning and digital learning. This study presents a systematic literature review of 40 peer-reviewed studies examining how ESP pedagogy is being reframed as situated professional practice through the integration of project-based and digital learning. Following the process of thematic synthesis, the review provides an examination of what ESP learning is perceived to be, how it is conducted and how it is evaluated in different disciplines and countries. Results show a marked pedagogical transition from a language-centric approach to one that incorporated more authenticity, collaboration and professional concern. Reported learning attainments go beyond language to cover professional capability, digital literacy, autonomous learning and identity development. Project-based learning authenticates language use in professional workflows, and digital learning environments support multimodal communication reminiscent of the way people work today. This review contends that in combination, these perspectives re-conceptualise the pedagogical nature of ESP as a type of applied professional education ’realised’ within particular social, institutional and discipline specific contexts. By synthesizing empirical evidence across settings, the study offers a conceptual reframing of ESP pedagogy and outlines implications for curriculum design, assessment, and future research in higher education and the social humanities.

The phenomenon of digital da'wah has significantly transformed the ways religious knowledge is accessed, interpreted, and disseminated in contemporary society. This study aims to analyze the patterns of actions and perceptions of TikTok and YouTube users toward religious content delivered by Gus Baha within the context of the digital religious space. Using Max Weber’s theory of rationalization as an analytical framework, this research explores how religious authority, knowledge transmission, and user interpretation undergo processes of rationalization on digital platforms. This study employs a qualitative approach using virtual ethnography, content analysis, and in-depth interviews with users of both platforms. Data were collected through observation of uploaded content, analysis of user interactions and comments, and examination of engagement dynamics. The findings indicate that user responses to Gus Baha’s content reflect Weber’s four types of social action. Instrumentally rational actions are evident in the use of short videos as practical and efficient learning tools. Value-oriented rational actions appear in users’ consistent efforts to deepen religious understanding. Affective actions emerge from emotional attachment to Gus Baha’s communicative style, while traditional actions are reflected in the perception of digital da'wah as a continuation of established religious learning traditions. Furthermore, digital rationalization through algorithms, short-video formats, and platform accessibility, shapes how religious knowledge is selected, interpreted, and circulated. This study concludes that digital religious spaces function not only as channels of dissemination but also as arenas for the transformation of religious authority, meaning construction, and religious practice in the digital era.

Herpes zoster is a skin infection caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, characterized by unilateral skin lesions corresponding to dermatome distribution and complaints of pain or itching. This disease is more common in adults and the elderly, especially in individuals with reduced immunity due to stress or work overload. A case was reported of a 40-year-old woman who worked as a nurse and came to a primary health care facility complaining of itching and red spots on her right breast area that had spread to the surrounding area two weeks before the examination and had worsened in the last few days. Physical examination revealed unilateral red skin lesions in a dermatomal pattern without crossing the midline of the body, consistent with the early phase of herpes zoster. Management was comprehensive, including medication, patient education about the disease and skin care, prevention of complications, and family support. A holistic approach is necessary to improve the success of therapy and the patient's quality of life.

This study examines the effectiveness of the Jambi Regional Police in enforcing criminal law in the digital era, particularly in addressing online gambling offences, from the perspective of Islamic law. The rapid development of information technology has transformed crime from physical spaces into cyberspace, characterised by anonymity, speed, and transnational reach, thereby requiring adaptive law enforcement strategies. This research adopts a qualitative juridical-empirical approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with law enforcement officers at the Jambi Regional Police, analysis of case documents, and examination of relevant legal frameworks, particularly Indonesia’s Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law). The findings reveal that the Jambi Regional Police have implemented several strategic measures in combating digital crimes, including cyber patrols, digital forensic investigations, seizure of electronic evidence, and inter-agency coordination. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of law enforcement remains constrained by technological limitations, complex digital evidence requirements, the transnational nature of cybercrime, and limited public digital legal awareness. From an Islamic law perspective, police actions against online gambling align with the objectives of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, particularly the protection of religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), property (ḥifẓ al-māl), and intellect (ḥifẓ al-‘aql). This study concludes that while digital criminal law enforcement by the Jambi Regional Police is fundamentally appropriate, it requires strengthened institutional capacity, integration of Islamic legal values, and adaptive policy reforms to enhance effectiveness and substantive justice.

Kakawin Nītiśāstra is a classic Old Javanese literary work that holds significant cultural value, especially within Balinese society, and is widely studied in academic settings. Previous research has primarily focused on its ethical teachings and character education, highlighting its role as a moral guide for life. However, a closer examination of the text reveals stanzas that portray women in ways that contradict this interpretation, specifically presenting them as unequal to men. This study addresses the gap in existing literature by focusing on gender representation in Kakawin Nītiśāstra. Given its portrayal as a "guide" for life, the research aims to critically assess how gender roles are presented and encourage more thoughtful engagement with its teachings. Using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis framework and a qualitative descriptive method, the study analyzes content. The findings show that men are represented as active subjects who speak about and evaluate women, while women are positioned as passive objects under male control. The discourse reflects a patriarchal ideology, with readers implicitly constructed as male, reinforcing gender norms.

Indonesia continues to face a significant burden of stunting that seriously impacts human resource quality and national development. Stunting is defined as a condition of chronic linear growth failure in children under five years, characterized by height-for-age below minus two standard deviations (−2 SD) from the WHO Child Growth Standards median, resulting from prolonged nutritional deficiency during the first 1,000 days of life. Indonesia's national stunting prevalence in 2022 remained at 21.6%, far from the 2024 national target of 14%. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge of pregnant mothers and mothers with toddlers regarding the definition, causative factors, impacts, and prevention strategies of stunting in Banyumas Village, Stabat District, Langkat Regency, in 2025. A community-based participatory intervention approach with a pre-post single group design was employed, incorporating interactive health counseling, group discussion sessions, anthropometric examination of toddlers, and pre-test and post-test knowledge assessments using a validated questionnaire. Participants consisted of 21 pregnant mothers and mothers with toddlers, with 7 toddlers undergoing anthropometric examination. Results demonstrated a significant increase in the mean knowledge score from 55.24 (pre-test) to 82.38 (post-test), reflecting an improvement of 27.14 points. Anthropometric examination identified 1 out of 7 toddlers (14.3%) as having poor nutritional status based on the height-for-age index. Beyond measurable knowledge gains, the activity successfully promoted perceptual change among participants, fostered the active role of local health cadres as community change agents, and cultivated collective awareness regarding the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in stunting prevention efforts. It is recommended that posyandu cadres actively sustain the 1,000 HPK counseling program on a continuous basis, and that the institution develop more comprehensive follow-up community service programs in the target area.

Lifestyle changes, such as smoking habits, low physical activity, and suboptimal sleep patterns, have the potential to affect various health indicators. However, empirical evidence showing a direct link between lifestyle factors and objective health indicators still shows varying results. This study aims to analyze the relationship between lifestyle factors and health indicators in adult respondents, in an effort to provide an empirical picture of behavioral factors related to health conditions. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional observational analytic design. Data were obtained from 94 respondents who had complete lifestyle data and health examination results. Lifestyle factors analyzed included smoking habits, exercise frequency, and sleep duration, while health indicators included body mass index (BMI), systolic and diastolic blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, uric acid, and pulse rate. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the Spearman correlation test according to the characteristics of the data distribution. The results showed that smoking habits were significantly associated with diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), exercise frequency was significantly associated with BMI and systolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), and sleep duration was significantly associated with uric acid levels (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the relationship between lifestyle factors and other health indicators did not show statistical significance. These findings indicate that the influence of lifestyle on health is specific to certain indicators and is not evenly distributed across all health parameters. This study concludes that identifying lifestyle factors relevant to certain health indicators is important as a basis for formulating more targeted health promotion strategies.
