In today's digital era, photography has been widely applied in various industrial fields and plays a crucial role in attracting consumer attention. Photography has evolved into several disciplines, including landscape photography, wedding photography, street photography, photojournalism, and product photography. Product photography is a high-quality photograph taken to showcase and explain the characteristics and details of a product or service. It not only serves as a representation of the product being offered but also serves as an effective marketing strategy. This applies to the culinary industry, particularly in cakes and food products, where product photography is essential to attract consumers' attention and enhance brand identity. This research explores the symbolic consumption patterns of Generation Z in engaging with local products during the digital hyperreality era, emphasizing the roles of ethical consumption, hyperreality values, and digital identity in shaping purchase intentions. Using a quantitative design through PLS-SEM complemented by qualitative evidence, the study shows that both ethical consumption and hyperreality significantly shape digital identity (β = 0.42; β = 0.53, p < 0.001). Digital identity strongly drives purchase intention (β = 0.65, p < 0.001), while ethical consumption does not directly affect it. Mediation analysis demonstrates that digital identity fully mediates the relationship between ethical consumption and purchase intention, and partially mediates the impact of hyperreality. Qualitative findings highlight that Gen Z’s buying decisions are influenced by symbols and imagery showcased on social media, where ethical aspects only become relevant when they align with digital aesthetics. These results strengthen the postmodernist perspective that consumption in the digital era is primarily about signs, images, and symbols that go beyond mere utility. The study suggests that MSMEs should strategically embed symbolic narratives, ethical dimensions, and visual aesthetics into digital marketing to appeal to Gen Z while promoting sustainability.

Animated films are not only a medium of entertainment but also an effective tool for delivering moral, social, and educational values through innovative storytelling and engaging visual styles. In Indonesia, although many animated films are broadcast on national television, only a limited number originate from domestic creators. This condition highlights the need to strengthen local creative content that reflects Indonesia’s cultural and environmental identity. The present design project aims to develop an alternative television program in the form of a 2D animated film that emphasizes the preservation of Mentilin, an endemic animal of Bangka Island, while simultaneously serving as an educational medium for the local community. The research and design process employed a qualitative approach, focusing on data collection through observation, interviews, and literature review to identify effective strategies for socialization and education. The animation production of Mentilin, The Tiny Tarsier was carried out in three main stages: pre-production, including concept development and storyboarding; production, involving character design, background creation, and animation; and post-production, which covered editing, sound design, and final rendering. The preliminary evaluation indicated that the animation successfully captured local cultural elements and delivered messages about environmental awareness in an engaging manner. This design is expected not only to provide a creative educational platform for the community but also to contribute to the broader efforts of environmental preservation and the development of Indonesia’s animation industry. Furthermore, the program has the potential to be expanded as a replicable model for other regions in promoting endemic species conservation through creative media.

Posters are an important means of conveying information and promoting products or services to a wider audience through the power of visual communication. This research focuses on redesigning promotional and informational posters to support the marketing strategy of the Kopi Es Tak Kie website, a long-standing Chinese culinary heritage in Jakarta. The main objectives of this research are to enhance visual appeal, expand market reach, and strengthen cultural values through print media designs that are representative and relevant to the development of the digital era. The approach used is visual communication design with the Design Thinking method. The stages in this method include audience needs research, design concept design, prototyping, and usability evaluation involving target respondents. In the visualization process, Figma software was used to arrange the poster layout, while Procreate was utilized to create complementary illustrations that provide an artistic and authentic feel. The resulting poster design emphasizes the use of a color palette of brick red, cream, and dark blue, combined with script and sans-serif typography. This combination was chosen to convey a cultural message while emphasizing the exclusive image of the Kopi Es Tak Kie brand. The visual harmony of color and typography enhances the cultural narrative while emphasizing the modern brand identity. The primary audience for this poster is young adults aged 22–40 who are interested in the fusion of traditional coffee culture and modern lifestyle. The findings of this study indicate that the redesigned poster is effective in bridging cultural heritage with digital branding, strengthening the identity of Kopi Es Tak Kie across both offline and online platforms. Thus, the poster medium is proven to act as a communication bridge connecting historical values with contemporary marketing strategies.

This study aims to explore how interpersonal communication plays a role in the process of constructing self-identity within the “Jemuah Keos” community in Surabaya. This community functions as an alternative social space inhabited by individuals with diverse creative backgrounds, such as musicians, motorcycle builders, visual artists, and subculture enthusiasts. The formation of identity in this community is not solely driven by individual expression but also shaped through social interactions that are reflective and rich in meaningful symbols. The study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with nine informants, and documentation of various visual artifacts representing the community’s activities. The data analysis process follows the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, which consists of three main stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The theoretical framework used in this study refers to Joseph A. DeVito's concept of interpersonal communication, which includes self-disclosure, empathy, emotional support, symbolic exchange, social values, as well as reflective interaction and role negotiation in social relationships. The findings indicate that interpersonal communication is a key element in shaping and negotiating personal identity. Cultural symbols such as clothing style, vehicle modifications, visual language, and daily interaction patterns become primary means of identity expression. The "Jemuah Keos" community demonstrates openness, equality, and a critical stance against the dominance of mainstream culture. Interpersonal communication within this community also plays a role in building collective solidarity and voicing critical views on existing cultural standards. The identity formed is not only personal but also part of a larger community identity.

This article examines the crucial role of spatial communication, particularly through signage systems, in the effective implementation of functional zoning in academic libraries. Using a comparative case study method at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Telkom University Libraries, this research analyzes how different visual communication strategies influence students' perceptions, behaviors, and sense of place formation. The findings indicate that the explicit and strategic visual communication approach at Telkom University successfully creates high spatial legibility and strengthens collective place identity. In contrast, the weak and ambiguous visual communication at the ITB Library causes users to rely more on personal habits, intuition, or previous experiences in accessing and utilizing the space. This not only hinders the formation of a coherent sense of place but also creates confusion that potentially degrades the quality of the user experience. The mismatch between spatial functions and user expectations leads to inefficiencies in facility utilization and disrupts user comfort within zones that should have clear functional boundaries, such as quiet zones, collaborative zones, and discussion zones. Furthermore, this article highlights the importance of integrating graphic design and architecture in creating a cohesive spatial experience. A consistently designed, informative, and aesthetically pleasing signage system not only enhances users' spatial orientation but also becomes a crucial element in shaping perceptions of the institution's character.

This study aims to examine the potential of the Baduy traditional house as a realistic context in mathematics learning, particularly in the material of spatial geometry. The traditional houses of the Baduy people not only function as residences, but also hold cultural values, philosophies, and architectural structures rich in geometric elements. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, this study explores various scientific sources, including journal articles, proceedings, and reference books, that discuss the relationship between spatial elements and the structure of traditional Baduy buildings. This approach was chosen so that the study obtained is comprehensive, directed, and able to illustrate the real contribution of ethnomathematics in learning. The results of the review indicate that the Baduy traditional house contains various forms of spatial geometry that can be clearly recognized, including cuboids, triangular prisms, pyramids, cubes, and cylinders. These elements are reflected in building components such as roofs, walls, floors, support pillars, and traditional household furniture. The visual and functional representation of these spatial geometry has the potential to be a contextual resource that can be utilized by teachers in the mathematics learning process, particularly through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. By linking abstract mathematical concepts to local cultural phenomena, students not only gain a better conceptual understanding but also increase their active engagement, motivation to learn, and awareness of their own cultural identity. These findings emphasize the importance of utilizing local wisdom as an ethnomathematics approach that can provide meaningful, contextual learning rooted in the realities of students' daily lives. Through the integration of culture and education, mathematics learning can be more relevant, engaging, and support the preservation of national culture.

This study examines the phenomenon of the religious jargon “Go Berkah No Riba” (Go Blessed, No Interest) as a digital marketing communication strategy employed by entrepreneurs on social media, particularly Facebook. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and visual discourse analysis, this research seeks to understand how the jargon is interpreted, constructed, and widely disseminated in the context of product marketing and business opportunities. The findings indicate that “Go Berkah No Riba” functions not only as a marker of religious identity but also as a rhetorical device that combines spiritual values with aspirations for material success. Visual analysis of promotional materials, such as flyers and Facebook posts, reveals the use of hyperbolic language, symbolic imagery—such as the Kaaba and piles of money—and religious narratives designed to build credibility and persuade potential consumers. The integration of religious elements with economic appeal creates a sharia-compliant business image that simultaneously promises profitability. However, the study also uncovers ambiguity in the use of this jargon. On the one hand, it can strengthen the image of a business operating ethically according to Islamic principles. On the other hand, it risks being exploited merely as a marketing gimmick without a strong foundation in ethical business practices. This creates the potential for a gap between the religious message communicated and the actual business conduct. The findings underscore the importance of critical literacy in understanding religious communication strategies within the digital business sphere. Consistency between religious messaging and real-world business practices is crucial for maintaining consumer trust and avoiding the excessive commodification of religious values. Therefore, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of religion-based marketing communication in the era of digital transformation.

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of violence experienced by individuals in the early adulthood age range (18–25 years), which is often a manifestation of unresolved traumatic experiences. Unmanaged trauma can have profound psychological impacts, affecting an individual's identity, social relationships, and outlook on life. However, within the framework of positive psychology, there is the concept of Post Traumatic Growth (PTG), which explains the potential for psychological growth that can emerge after an individual experiences severe stress or trauma. PTG includes positive changes in oneself, increased meaning in life, personal strength, and appreciation for life. The concept of PTG is the main foundation in the creation of abstract sculptures that attempt to represent the psychological journey of victims of violence, from destructive conditions to recovery and self-awareness. Abstract forms are used as a visual medium to reflect inner conflict, identity fragmentation, and the complex process of internal transformation. The choice of abstraction allows for free expression of realistic forms, thus presenting a profound symbolic interpretation. The method of creation of the work is carried out through an artistic approach that emphasizes the exploration of form, texture, material, and space in three-dimensional expression. This process not only produces visual objects but also creates expressive symbols that contain narratives of psychological healing. The sculpture is presented as a contemplative medium that invites the audience to experience, understand, and interpret the inner journey of victims of violence. The resulting creation demonstrates that abstract sculpture can be a powerful means of emotional communication, facilitating public understanding of the experience of trauma and the potential for post-traumatic growth. Thus, this work not only serves as an artistic representation of the inner dynamics of victims of violence but also serves as a reflective medium that fosters awareness of the human capacity to recover and thrive after experiencing profound suffering.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a crucial pillar of economic development in Indonesia, playing a significant role in job creation, increasing community income, and driving regional economic growth. Mie Ayam Pak Bari is one such MSME located in Tireman Village, Rembang Regency, Central Java. This business is characterized by delicious flavors, affordable prices, and a unique location that lacks similar competitors in the surrounding area. Despite its significant potential, Mie Ayam Pak Bari faces several challenges, including limited marketing reach, limited exposure to local communities, and volatile raw material price fluctuations. To address these challenges, mentoring focused on strengthening business management strategies and increasing marketing effectiveness. The mentoring included creating a banner as the business's visual identity, developing an attractive and informative menu catalog, and establishing an Instagram account to expand online promotional reach. This strategy is expected to attract new customers, increase consumer loyalty, and build a positive image for the business in the eyes of the wider community. The mentoring results indicate an increase in the completeness of promotional tools, the formation of a clearer business identity, and an increase in communication channels with consumers through social media. The menu catalog helps customers understand product variety and pricing transparently, while banners serve as physical markers, making it easier for customers to find the business's location. Meanwhile, the Instagram account serves as an interactive platform that allows businesses to reach potential customers outside of Tireman Village. This mentoring activity demonstrates that implementing visual and digital media-based marketing strategies can be an effective solution for MSMEs to survive and thrive in an increasingly competitive market.

Depression in adolescents is a significant mental health issue in Indonesia, with its prevalence increasing every year. Adolescence is a transitional period marked by complex physical, social, and psychological changes. During this phase, adolescents often face emotional instability, academic pressure, social demands, and confusion in establishing self-identity. These factors can trigger prolonged stress and increase the risk of depression. Appropriate prevention and intervention efforts are crucial to address this issue. One approach that has proven effective is art-based group therapy. Art therapy provides a space for adolescents to express their thoughts and feelings creatively through visual media, which can help them understand themselves, manage their emotions, and build social skills. This study used the Systematic Literature Review method to identify, analyze, and synthesize the results of studies related to the effectiveness of art therapy on adolescent mental health. Data sources were obtained from various national and international journals relevant to the keywords "Art Therapy", "adolescent depression", and "mental health". The results of the literature review indicate that art therapy consistently has positive impacts, including reducing depressive symptoms, increasing self-confidence, strengthening interpersonal skills, and developing emotional intelligence. The creative process in this therapy encourages adolescents to be more open, able to process emotional experiences, and find positive ways to deal with problems. Based on these findings, Art Therapy is recommended for ongoing implementation in schools and communities as part of mental health programs. This intervention serves not only as a means of recovery but also as a preventative measure in building adolescents' psychological resilience, enabling them to grow and develop optimally amidst the challenges of modern life.

One of the MSMEs in this area is Warung "Mbak Raisha" owned by Mrs. Inayah which has been operating since 2015. This stall is engaged in providing food and beverages for tourists. However, these MSMEs face various challenges in managing their business, including the lack of digital financial records, the lack of social media accounts as a means of digital promotion, the lack of a business logo, and the management of orders and product packaging that is not optimal. This condition causes limitations in terms of competitiveness, management efficiency, and marketing reach which has an impact on overall business growth and hinders the potential for future business development. Community service activities are carried out to help overcome these problems through strategies to strengthen branding and digital marketing. Some of the concrete steps taken are the creation of a logo as a brand identity, the installation of banners as a visual identity of the business, training on the use of social media (Instagram) as a means of promotion, the preparation of price lists, and digital financial recording using simple applications. In addition, education was also provided regarding the importance of attractive packaging to increase the selling value of products. The results of the mentoring show that Warung "Mbak Raisha" now has a stronger business identity, a more targeted promotion system, and more efficient management. This effort is expected to be able to encourage business growth and make MSMEs better prepared to face business challenges in the digital era.

MSMEs have a crucial role in the Indonesian economy, but many of them still face obstacles in terms of branding and digital marketing. The lack of understanding of the importance of visual identity and digital strategy causes MSME products to be less prominent in a competitive market. This community service activity aims to improve the quality of branding of MSME products in Wonorejo Village, Pasuruan City, through the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach which involves stages of counseling, training, and direct assistance to business actors. The counseling is focused on a basic understanding of visual branding, including elements of brand identity such as logos, colors, typography, and packaging. The training emphasizes hands-on practice in designing promotional packaging, logos, and banners using digital platforms like Canva. Furthermore, mentoring is carried out to identify specific branding obstacles faced by each MSME and develop applicative solutions collaboratively. The results of the activity show a significant increase in the quality of branding MSME products visually and digital marketing strategies. One of the fostered MSMEs, namely AM Jaya and Berkah Mandiri, has succeeded in rebranding packaging and developing digital marketing channels through e-commerce platforms and social media. In addition, business actors become more confident in presenting their products to consumers and business partners. MSMEs are also beginning to realize the importance of brand consistency in building customer loyalty and increasing competitiveness. The response of the participants to this activity was very positive, reflected in the enthusiasm during the training and the commitment to implement the learning outcomes. Some MSMEs are starting to form small communities to share best practices in terms of branding and promotion.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in supporting the growth and stability of the national economy (Endra et al., 2024), particularly in the ever-expanding culinary sector. However, MSMEs often face challenges in creating visually appealing and professional promotional elements. One example is BentoDay, a food business in West Jakarta that still relies on simple promotions through social media without optimal content packaging. This activity aims to improve the digital promotional capacity of MSMEs through a training and mentoring program focused on creating logos and product catalogs using Canva. Canva is a digital-based visual design tool that is easy to use, even for beginners, to create content such as posters, banners, and social media promotional materials (Akbar et al., n.d.). This training was conducted through a series of activities, starting with initial observation, direct training, intensive mentoring, and evaluation of participants' designs. The results showed that participants were able to independently produce promotional materials, such as logos and product catalogs, with more attractive and consistent designs. In addition to improving design skills, this training also had a positive impact on MSMEs' digital marketing strategies. Good visual design has been shown to increase consumer appeal and product sales. Thus, mastering digital skills is crucial for strengthening brand identity and expanding market reach (Andari, Sari, & Hidayat, 2025). The use of Canva has proven effective in supporting the digital promotional transformation of MSMEs to become more competitive in the digital era.

MSMEs play a strategic role in supporting the growth and stability of the national economy (Endra et al., 2024), especially in the culinary sector which continues to grow. However, a fundamental problem commonly experienced by MSMEs is the ability to create visually attractive and professional promotional elements. One example is BentoDay, a food business in West Jakarta, which still relies on simple visual promotions through social media without optimal content packaging. This activity aims to develop the digital promotional capacity of participants through program mentoring and training that focuses on creating logos and product catalogs using the Canva application, a digital tool used for easy-to-use visual design purposes that allows even beginners to create posters, banners and social media content (Akbar et al., n.d.). Initial observations, direct training, intensive mentoring, and evaluation of participants' design results are part of the mentoring activity approach. The results of the activity implementation illustrate that participants have the ability to independently produce promotional materials, such as business logos and product catalogs with more attractive and consistent designs. This training not only improves participants' design skills but also has a positive impact on the digital marketing strategy of culinary businesses. MSMEs can improve their competitiveness and increase sales by implementing better design. This approach demonstrates the importance of acquiring digital skills for MSMEs to strengthen their brand identity and expand their consumer reach (Andari, N., Sari, D.P., & Hidayat, 2025). Therefore, using Canva has proven useful for enhancing the competitiveness of MSME digital promotions.
