Arrogance, referred to in the Quran as kibr, takabbur, or istikbār, is a serious moral issue with spiritual, social, and political dimensions that require careful consideration. Pride is a major obstacle in accepting divine truth and can contribute to the collapse of the social order, as depicted in the stories of Pharaoh, Qarun, and Iblis. In the modern context, pride appears in various complex forms, including intellectual pride, political dominance, economic inequality and exclusivism. It has also evolved into a structural problem that causes discrimination, marginalization of minority voices, and global tensions. This study analyzes the concept of pride in the Qur'ān using a theoretical approach rooted in themes. This qualitative methodology allows for the development of inductive theories directly drawn from the sacred text. This approach overcomes the limitations of previous research, which is often fragmentary and descriptive. Through open, axial, and selective coding of Qur'anic verses and stories about pride, this study will reconstruct the definition, forms, and characteristics (cognitive, affective, and behavioral) of pride, as well as its consequences in this world and the hereafter. The results show that pride manifests in actions such as belittling others, boasting of self and wealth, rejecting the truth, and showing physical arrogance.

This study aims to analyze the suspected violation of advertising ethics by Almaz Fried Chicken through the claim “Saudi Chicken No.1 in Indonesia” on the Instagram platform. The claim was repeatedly published without valid supporting evidence, such as surveys, awards, or credible data sources. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method and content analysis technique on the visual and textual content of Almaz Fried Chicken’s official Instagram posts. The results show that the superlative claim does not comply with the Indonesian Advertising Ethics Code, which requires substantiation for superiority claims. Advertising visuals—such as color schemes, typography, and cultural symbols—were used to reinforce the impression of authenticity and superiority, but lacked verifiable basis. The study concludes that the claim used by Almaz Fried Chicken violates the principles of honesty, truthfulness, and responsibility in marketing communication, and potentially misleads consumers while creating unfair competition in the digital marketplace.

This study aims to analyze the differences and similarities between the paradigm of Western rationalism, which places reason as the primary source of truth, and Islamic epistemology, which integrates revelation and reason in the pursuit of truth. The research employs a literature review method with a qualitative approach, drawing data from various scholarly works on Western and Islamic epistemological philosophy. A descriptive-comparative analysis is conducted to compare the fundamental concepts, methodologies, and implications of these two paradigms. The findings indicate that Western rationalism emphasizes reason and skepticism in verifying truth, with philosophers such as Descartes and Kant rejecting external authority in acquiring knowledge. Meanwhile, Islamic epistemology asserts that reason plays a crucial role but must align with revelation as the absolute source of truth. The study also finds that the dichotomy between revelation and reason is often misunderstood, whereas in Islam, they can complement each other. In conclusion, an integrative approach that combines the strengths of rationalism in scientific analysis with the moral and spiritual foundation of revelation can lead to a more comprehensive and applicable understanding in both knowledge and social life

The tongue is a small part of the body that holds significant power to influence both individual life and community well-being. James 3:1–12 provides a firm warning about the dangers of an uncontrolled tongue, depicting it as a fire, a world of evil, and deadly poison. This study aims to examine the meaning of controlling the tongue as a responsibility of Christian spirituality through a literature review and exegetical-hermeneutical analysis of James 3:1–12. This qualitative research employs primary data from the biblical text (Indonesian Bible Society version and the Greek text) and secondary data from commentaries, Christian ethics books, and theological journals. The findings indicate that controlling the tongue is a sign of spiritual maturity and an essential aspect of Christian discipline that must be continuously cultivated. Disciplined speech reflects living faith and serves as a means to foster love, truth, and peace within the community. This study highlights the need for churches and believers to integrate ethical speech as a core part of their witness in the world.

This article examines the importance of understanding and applying church discipline in the life of today’s congregation based on biblical principles. Church discipline is not merely seen as a form of punishment but as a means of God's grace to bring about restoration, spiritual growth, and order within the body of Christ. Through the study of Scripture and theological reflection, this paper explains that discipline is an expression of God’s love aimed at guiding His people toward repentance and truth. In practice, discipline must be carried out with love, patience, and wisdom, thus reflecting the character of Christ rather than serving merely as a corrective measure. The article also highlights the challenges of applying church discipline in the context of a modern culture that tends to reject authority and correction. Nevertheless, the author asserts that discipline remains relevant and essential as a means of preserving the holiness of the church and its witness to the world. The conclusion of this discussion shows that church discipline, when properly implemented, has a positive impact on both individuals and the faith community as a whole.

The church is the Body of Christ that carries out God’s vision and mission in the world to bring many lost souls. Often the church is confused when it has to determine its attitude towards people who sin. One extreme attitude is to just let someone fall into sin because they are afraid of offending that person. Another extreme attitude is to hate sin so much that they also hate the person who does it. Discipline in the church is a major oversight in some churches today. The church also often misunderstands the meaning of church discipline and misimplements it to the congregation. The church misunderstands that church discipline is a form of punishment given not as a warning or reprimand to regret mistakes and return to the right path. From the title of this article, the author describes the results of the discussion using the Qualitative method through a literature research study sourced from scientific papers in the form of journals and related articles that produce several discussions including: the definition and purpose of church discipline, forms of church discipline, challenges in implementing church discipline, and the last is how church discipline can build a spiritually and socially healthy congregation community. The discussion of this article is described by the author to the readers so that they can increase their insight and even teach and encourage the church to always be firm in disciplining congregations who commit sins based on the truth of God’s word.

Honesty is a very important trait in Islam and is also one of the characteristics that every Muslim should possess. Honesty means telling the truth as it really is and not lying, either in word or in action. In Islam, honesty is considered one of the most noble and praiseworthy traits. Allah SWT says in the Qur'an, “If you speak, then speak truthfully, even if it hurts.” (QS. Al-Ahzab: 70). Honesty has many benefits, both in personal life and in social life. With honesty, we can build trust and good relationships with others, and maintain our integrity and dignity.  Due to the rapid development of technology and relationships spread all over the world, there is a tendency to ignore fairness to achieve personal goals or ignore honesty to gain quick profits. Under these circumstances, the values of fairness and honesty found in the Qur'an become more necessary to implement in life. By using a thematic approach to related verses.  This research aims to gain a deeper understanding of the concept of honesty in the context of Al-Qur'an interpretation.

Corruption is one of the serious problems currently being faced by many countries in the world, including our country Indonesia. Not only does it harm the country's economy, corruption has also been proven to hinder the development of a country and create social injustice. This study aims to determine the basis for the judge's considerations in granting a pretrial motion by the former deputy minister of law and human rights and than the judge's decision related to the determination of the suspect in the pretrial motion. The method used in this study is normative legal research with a Legislation approach, Conceptual Approach, and Case Approach. The data collection technique used is library research, the data is collected and then analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the study show that the basis for the judge's considerations in the pretrial motion decision on the Eddy Hiariej case shows the judge's tendency to focus more on formal aspects than material aspects. The judge's decision in granting a pretrial motion, especially in corruption cases such as the Eddy Hiariej case, the judge should not limit his considerations only to the due process of law aspect which emphasizes procedural accuracy. However, on the other hand, judges are also required to pay attention to the dimensions of the crime control model, which emphasizes the effectiveness of eradicating crime, as well as the principle of substantive justice, which demands justice based on material truth.

This abstract discusses the characteristics of the true church according to Christian views, emphasizing the importance of faithfulness to the Word of God as the primary foundation. The true church is a community that faithfully proclaims the Gospel of Christ purely, without addition or subtraction from the teachings of the Bible. This faithfulness serves as the basis for the church’s existence as the living body of Christ, functioning to spread salvation to all people. Besides faithfulness to the Word, the proper administration of the sacraments is also an important characteristic of the true church. Sacraments such as baptism and the Lord’s Supper are conducted according to Christ’s commands and serve as means of grace that strengthen the faith of the congregation. The spiritual discipline practiced within the church maintains the holiness of the members and encourages repentance and restoration, so that the community continues to live in truth and love. Unity and holiness reflect the church’s calling to live in love and truth, while the apostolic nature shows its adherence to the teachings of the apostles. Catholicity affirms that the true church is universal and transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

Proof in criminal procedural law in Indonesia is a process that starts from the investigation stage, where evidence is gathered by investigators, to the trial stage, where the judge delivers a verdict. The main goal of this process is to seek and uphold material truth, which is the truth that corresponds to the actual facts. This evidence includes various forms such as witness testimony, expert testimony, documents, indications, and the defendant's statements. In the Indonesian proof system, which is based on the Continental European system, at least two valid pieces of evidence and the judge's conviction are required to declare someone guilty. This means that the evidence must be convincing to the judge regarding the truth of the charges brought against the defendant. This article examines the theory of proof, circumstantial evidence, and challenges in the practice of proof, including the testimony of possession that emerged in the Vina Cirebon case. This research employs a normative juridical method with a legislative approach. The analysis shows that proof in criminal procedural law heavily relies on valid evidence and the judge's conviction, and identifies that the Indonesian judicial system needs to pay attention to the development and adaptation to special situations such as possession testimony.
