Teenage pregnancy remains a reproductive health issue in Indonesia, including in Batam City. According to data from the Batam City Health Office in 2024, there were 18 cases of teenage pregnancy (0.06%) with the Lubuk Baja Health Center being one of the highest areas. Pregnant teenagers are at high risk of complications such as anemia, malnutrition, and low birth weight (LBW), which contribute to high rates of maternal and infant morbidity. This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach on Ny. S, an 18-year-old teenager with a pregnancy in the Lubuk Baja Health Center area of Batam City in 2025. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and SOAP documentation following the 7-step Varney obstetric management. The findings revealed that Ny. S experienced mild complaints such as nausea, reduced appetite, and anxiety about her pregnancy. After three visits, the mother's complaints decreased, appetite improved, anxiety decreased, and nutritional status was within normal limits. Comprehensive midwifery care with a biopsychosocial approach was proven effective in improving both the physical and mental health of pregnant teenagers and preventing pregnancy complications.

High school adolescents are in a vulnerable developmental phase towards emotional and behavioral problems due to rapid biological, cognitive, and social changes. Limitations in emotional management can trigger the emergence of problematic behavior, such as aggressiveness, violations of school rules, conflicts with peers, and bullying, both directly and through digital media. This article aims to analyze problematic behavior in high school adolescents from the perspective of emotional conditions. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review method of 20 national and international scientific articles obtained through Google Scholar and analyzed descriptively-thematically. The results of the study indicate that adolescent problematic behavior is influenced by the interaction of individual, family, school, and social environment factors that are increasingly complex. Low emotional regulation and emotional intelligence increase the tendency for maladaptive behavior, while family support, a conducive school climate, and Guidance and Counseling services act as protective factors. Therefore, a holistic and sustainable approach is needed through strengthening emotional intelligence, preventive Guidance and Counseling services, and the development of life skills to support the social-emotional development of adolescents.

Physiological changes in adolescents during the transition period, both biologically, cognitively, psychosexually, and psychosocially, are very vulnerable to various risky behaviors such as premarital sexual behavior, abortion, unwanted pregnancy, STIs, and drug use. One effort to increase adolescent awareness about premarital sex is health education. This study identified the effectiveness of audiovisual media and leaflets about premarital sexual behavior on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents at SMA Negeri 20 Seram Bagian Barat. The study used a quasi-experimental approach, pre-post-test control group design, with 40 samples. The Wilcoxon test results for the intervention group showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in adolescent knowledge and attitudes before and after health education using audiovisual media. The control group showed a p-value > 0.05, indicating no significant difference in adolescent knowledge and attitudes before and after health education using leaflets. The Man-Whitney test results showed a p-value < 0.000 (p value < 0.05) for the intervention group post-test. It was concluded that there was a significant difference in health education using audiovisual media and leaflets regarding premarital sexual behavior on adolescent knowledge and attitudes at State Senior High School 20, West Seram.

Nutritional status plays an important role in shaping body image among adolescents, particularly female adolescents who experience rapid physical and psychosocial changes. Adolescents with nutritional problems are more likely to feel dissatisfied withitheiribody shape, whichimay lead to unhealthy behaviors such as strict dieting or excessive eating to gain weight. Thisistudy aimed toianalyze theirelationship betweeninutritional statusiand bodyiimage amongifemale adolescentsiat SMK Negeri 1 Palu. This research employedia quantitativeiapproachiwith aicross-sectionalidesign. Aitotal ofi169 femaleistudentsiwere selected using stratified random sampling. Body image data were collected using the Body Self Relation Questionnaire–Appearance Scale, while nutritional status was assessed using Body Mass Index for Age (BMI-for-Age) and Height for Age (HFA). Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results indicated that there was no significant relationship between nutritional status based on BMI-for-Age and body image, with a p-value of 0.329. Similarly, no significant relationship was found between Height-for-Age and body image among female adolescents, with a p-value of 0.892. Most respondents were aged 16–17 years, had a negative body image perception, normal BMI-for-Age nutritional status, and normal Height-for-Age category. These findings suggest that body image among female adolescents is not solely influenced by nutritional status but may also be affected by other psychosocial and environmental factors. Therefore, future research is recommended to apply a cohort study design and explore other determinants of body image, such as social media exposure, peer influence, and infectious diseases, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of factors affecting adolescent body image.

This study examines the paradoxical phenomenon among adolescents who actively consume mental health content on digital platforms such as Instagram and TikTok but are reluctant to utilize freely available school counseling services. The research aims to identify specific forms of stigma that hinder adolescents from utilizing school counseling services and analyze them using Erving Goffman's stigma theory. The research method employs a qualitative approach with a library research design, analyzing various scientific literature published from 2013-2025 through content analysis techniques. The research findings reveal six main forms of stigma: perception of school counselors as school police, labeling as troubled students, sign of personal weakness, doubts about confidentiality, distrust in counselor competence, and traumatic experiences. The paradox occurs because digital platforms provide anonymity that protects adolescents' virtual social identity, while face-to-face counseling services are perceived as threatening their social identity. Research implications indicate the need for transformation of school counseling services that integrate digital strategies, ongoing campaigns to change negative perceptions, and enhancement of counselor competence in understanding adolescent digital culture to reduce stigma and improve adolescent access to professional mental health services.

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of theft committed by 15-year-old adolescents in market environments, which creates tension between criminal law enforcement and the principle of child protection in the Indonesian legal system. The study aims to analyze the legal regulations of theft under the old Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 1946), the new Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023), and the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law; to examine the criminal liability of adolescents from the perspective of criminal law theory; and to review the implementation of restorative justice and diversion. The research method used is normative legal research with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, particularly reviewing the provisions of Article 591 of the new Criminal Code, the theory of fault, and the principle of proportionality. The results indicate that the criminal liability of children must take into account psychological limitations, maturity levels, and criminogenic factors, including the influence of the social environment. Furthermore, the mens rea element in the phrase "known or reasonably suspected" is difficult to apply in practice to transactions involving small losses, as price reasonableness can obscure indications of malicious intent. This finding affirms that imposing criminal penalties on children in cases of petty theft potentially contradicts the principles of ultimum remedium and proportionality. Therefore, law enforcement should prioritize diversion, mediation, and restorative justice approaches by involving families and communities to achieve substantive justice and prevent excessive criminalization of children.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious disease of the respiratory system that remains a global public health problem, including in Indonesia, with high incidence rates among adolescents due to intense social activities and interactions. This community service activity aims to increase adolescents' knowledge about TB from an epidemiological perspective, including modes of transmission, symptoms, risk factors, and prevention efforts as an airborne disease. The method used was a quasi-experimental approach with a two-group pretest-posttest design, through health education provided to 149 adolescents aged 15–17 years at Darussalam High School in Medan. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires to assess the level of knowledge before and after the educational intervention. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the level of knowledge after the education was provided, where the percentage of respondents in the high knowledge category increased from 82% in the pre-test to 93% in the post-test, accompanied by a decrease in the sufficient and low knowledge categories. This study shows that community service activities through health education have a significant effect on increasing adolescents' knowledge about tuberculosis. Health education has been proven to be effective as a promotional and preventive measure, so it needs to be implemented continuously to prevent the transmission

Losing a father, whether through death or divorce, is a significant life event that can impact adolescents' psychological well-being, one of which is feelings of loneliness. Fathers play a crucial role in a child's emotional and social development, and their absence can trigger feelings of isolation or a lack of social connection. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in levels of loneliness between male and female adolescents who have lost their fathers. This study used a quantitative approach with a comparative method. The subjects in this study were 152 adolescents, consisting of 96 female adolescents and 56 male adolescents who had lost their fathers. Data were collected using a loneliness scale structured according to aspects of loneliness. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis was an Independent Sample T-Test. The results of the data analysis showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.105 (p > 0.05). This indicates that the hypothesis stating differences in levels of loneliness is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there are no significant differences in loneliness experienced by male and female adolescents who have lost their fathers. Both gender groups showed relatively similar levels of loneliness in response to the loss of a father.   The results of the data analysis showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.105 (p > 0.05). Prolactinoma is the most common functional pituitary adenoma, particularly in adolescent females, and is typically characterized by amenorrhea and galactorrhea resulting from hyperprolactinemia. However, in certain cases, serum prolactin levels may appear normal due to the hook effect, an immunoassay measurement error caused by extremely high prolactin concentrations that interfere with antigen–antibody complex formation. We report the case of a 17-year-old female presenting with a five-month history of galactorrhea, accompanied by breast pain, headache, and primary amenorrhea. Brain MRI revealed a pituitary mass measuring 1.4 × 0.8 × 0.5 cm, suspicious for prolactinoma, while serum prolactin was within the normal range (17.33 ng/mL). The discrepancy between clinical manifestations, lesion size, and laboratory findings raised suspicion of the hook effect. The patient was treated with dopamine agonists, bromocriptine and cabergoline, and referred for multidisciplinary management involving endocrinology, neurosurgery, and obstetrics–gynecology. Despite the absence of prolactin dilution testing, MRI findings supported the diagnosis of prolactinoma, and the patient demonstrated a favorable clinical response to therapy. This case highlights the importance of recognizing laboratory variability, performing comprehensive hormonal evaluation, and considering prolactin dilution assays when clinical and laboratory findings are discordant, particularly in adolescent patients with suggestive symptoms.

Adolescent mental health is an important aspect in human resource development because it affects learning ability, social relationships, and readiness to face adult life. Adolescence, especially at the junior high school level, is a transitional period that is prone to mental and emotional disorders due to biological, psychological, and social changes that occur simultaneously. This study aims to describe the mental health condition of adolescents using the Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20) instrument in students of SMPN 3 Ubud, Gianyar Regency. The study used a descriptive design with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was carried out in total sampling with a total of 117 students. The research instrument is in the form of an SRQ-20 questionnaire that has been proven to be valid and reliable. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to describe the distribution of symptoms and mental health categories of respondents. The results showed that most students were in the category of good mental health, although there were still a number of students with poor conditions. The most common symptoms are easy to feel tired and difficulty in making decisions. Based on the characteristics of respondents, students aged 13–15 years are more likely to experience poor mental health conditions than 11-13 years old, and the proportion of female students is higher than men in experiencing symptoms of mental emotional disorders. These findings affirm the importance of early detection of adolescent mental health in schools as the basis for promotive and preventive interventions, through optimizing the role of counseling guidance and creating a supportive school environment.

Adolescence is often faced with various challenges from the community, school, and family environment. Adolescents from underprivileged families are often overshadowed by economic limitations that hinder access to quality education and skills development. One way to address this is by empowering adolescents through non-formal education by honing skills to improve their quality when entering the world of work. This study aims to determine the implementation of empowerment of underprivileged adolescents in increasing independence at the Information and Communication Technology Islamic Boarding School (PeTIK) in Depok using qualitative methods and data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data are presented in the form of descriptions and written reports, as well as drawing conclusions. The results show that PeTIK significantly helps underprivileged adolescents to gain education and real-world experience in the world of work. This empowerment is an effort made so that adolescents have the ability to develop their academic and non-academic potential. In addition, PeTIK has succeeded in increasing adolescent independence such as emotional independence, social independence, intellectual independence, and economic independence.

This study aims to describe dietary patterns, food consumption habits, hygiene awareness, and environmental and social factors related to digestive disorders in junior high school students. This study used a descriptive approach with a closed-ended interview method (Yes/No answers) with Thirty-five  junior high school students using 15 questions. The results showed that some students did not have consistent breakfast habits, had a high tendency to consume fried foods and sugary drinks, and demonstrated low awareness of food safety and hygiene habits such as washing hands before eating. In addition, the school environment, peer influence, and psychological well-being influence students’ eating patterns. These factors contribute to digestive problems in some students. Therefore, schools must actively participate in maintaining a clean environment, providing students with healthy food options, and providing ongoing nutritional instruction on digestive health.

The advancement of digital technology has led to the extensive adoption of social media by teenagers. Social media has become a means of communication, entertainment, and an easily accessible source of information, but its use also has various impacts on adolescent mental health. This study aims to examine the influence of social media on adolescent mental health through a literature review approach. The method used was a literature review, reviewing various scientific journals, books, and academic articles relevant to the topic of social media and adolescent mental health. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively and qualitatively to identify patterns of findings and trends in previous research. The findings of the research show that social media usage has both beneficial and detrimental effects on the mental health of adolescents. On the positive side, social media also can be means of self-expression, expanding social networks, and obtaining emotional support. However, excessive and uncontrolled social media use possesses the ability to create adverse effects, such as increased anxiety, stress, depression, low self-confidence, and impaired self-image due to social comparison. Furthermore, exposure to negative content, cyberbullying, and pressure to gain social approval also contribute to the decline in adolescent psychological well-being. The duration of use, the type of platform, and adolescents' ability to manage emotions and time also influence the level of perceived impact. Therefore, the active role of parents, educators, and the social environment is needed to provide guidance and digital literacy education so that teenagers can utilize social media sensibly. Through effective management, it is anticipated that social media can be used constructively while prioritizing adolescent mental health.
