Leadership constitutes a critical determinant of organizational efficiency, yet the relationship between leadership styles and administrative effectiveness remains incompletely understood, particularly across different institutional contexts. This comparative study examines how transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles influence administrative efficiency in public and private sector institutions in Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data were collected from 428 employees across 28 public institutions and 24 private organizations through validated survey instruments; qualitative data were gathered through 36 semi-structured interviews with organizational leaders and managers. Results reveal significant positive relationships between transformational leadership and administrative efficiency in both sectors (β = 0.54, p < 0.001 for public; β = 0.48, p < 0.001 for private), with transactional leadership showing moderate positive effects (β = 0.32 public; β = 0.38 private) and laissez-faire leadership demonstrating negative relationships (β = −0.28 public; β = −0.24 private). Leadership styles collectively explain 52% of efficiency variance. Mediation analysis reveals that organizational culture (28%), employee engagement (35%), and trust in leadership (22%) partially mediate transformational leadership's effects, together accounting for 62% of total indirect effects. Sector differences emerged qualitatively: transformational leadership leverages public service motivation in public institutions, while transactional leadership's performance accountability resonates more strongly in private organizations. The study contributes theoretical understanding of leadership effectiveness across institutional contexts and provides practical guidance for developing contextually appropriate leadership development programs.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the electronic office (e-office) system in correspondence management and to identify the challenges and efforts undertaken in its application at the Environmental Agency of Central Jakarta Administrative City. The background of this research is the increasing demand for digital transformation in public administration, which requires government institutions to adopt electronic systems to improve efficiency and administrative order. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews with four participants, direct observation, literature review, and documentation. The findings indicate that the e-office system has been utilized in the registration, recording, and distribution of incoming and outgoing letters. In the management of incoming mail, documents are first entered into the system, then printed for manual disposition by the head of the office, and subsequently re-entered into the system based on the disposition results. For outgoing mail, the drafting and submission process is conducted through the system, while the signing process is still performed manually. The challenges encountered include network disruptions, limited employee understanding of the system, and inadequate supporting facilities. Efforts to address these issues include regular system maintenance, improvement of supporting infrastructure, and training programs for employees. This study provides an overview of the implementation of e-office in supporting correspondence management and strengthening administrative order within government institutions, and highlights the importance of technological readiness and human resource competence in optimizing digital-based administrative systems.

This article analyzes the role of Work-Life Balance, Motivation, and Work Environment on Employee Performance in the manufacturing industry. Work-Life Balance (WLB) can be measured on time management, mental health, job satisfaction, and overall performance. Work Motivation is seen from intrinsic and extrinsic factors, while the Work Environment is seen from a conducive, safe, and comfortable atmosphere. This study uses a quantitative approach using SmartPLS. This method was chosen because of its effectiveness in testing complex causal models with many variables and its flexibility assuming data distribution. Primary data was collected from 98 employees via Google from Likert scale, using the seneus technique. Analysis includes evaluating measurement models for validity and reliability and testing hypotheses. The SEM-PLS analysis confirms that Work-Life Balance, Motivation, and Work Environment all have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. WLB showed the most dominant influence among the three factors. This research is an important factor that significantly affects employee performance. Maintaining and improving these factors, especially WLB, is essential for fostering employee motivation, a sense of security, and maximizing work output, thereby contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Women's leadership plays an important role in the success of organizations, including in the government sector at the sub-district level. Leaders not only act as directors but also as mentors who are able to understand the needs and character of their subordinates. The female head of TG Sub-district in Surabaya City demonstrates the application of reciprocal relationships between leaders and subordinates through a system of rewards and punishments according to performance achievements, actively monitors subordinate performance, identifies work standard errors, and takes corrective actions. The study aims to analyze the application of transactional leadership style by the female head of TG Sub-district in Surabaya City using Bernard M. Bass's (1990) theory. The type of research used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Samples were determined using purposive sampling, and data sources included primary and secondary data. The research results indicate that the transactional leadership style of the female village head in TG Village is not yet fully optimal. The application of Contingent Reward can increase motivation and employee performance control, but its implementation in the community is still limited. Management by Exception (Active) carried out on employees has not been consistent, and its application in the community is also not sufficiently felt. Management by Exception (Passive) and Laissez-Faire are shown through corrective actions after problems arise and the freedom to take initiative and make decisions according to standards and policies. The implementation of transactional leadership by female village heads needs to be improved, especially in strengthening the mechanisms of reward and punishment as well as the consistency of supervision of employees and the community so that the leadership implementation runs more optimally.

This study aims to explore employees’ work experiences related to work-life balance and compensation in shaping employee performance at CV. Sepanjang Masa (Masa Kreatif), a social media agency located in Makassar. A qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical field design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, passive participant observation, and documentation involving 11 informants from both management and creative teams. Data analysis followed processes of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with trustworthiness ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that employees’ work-life balance experiences are dynamic and heterogeneous. Work flexibility provides opportunities for personal time management; however, rapid response demands and intensive content production blur the boundaries between work and personal life. A supportive, communicative, and collaborative work environment acts as a protective factor that mitigates work pressure and fosters creativity. Compensation is perceived not only as financial remuneration but also as a symbol of recognition, professional development opportunities, and organizational appreciation, although gaps remain between employee expectations and organizational capacity. Integratively, work-life balance, work environment, and compensation constitute interconnected work experiences influencing employee engagement and performance within the digital creative industry.
