This qualitative literature review explores the role of closing auctions in price discovery and the influence of index funds on market liquidity. By analyzing recent empirical studies, the review reveals that closing auctions serve as vital mechanisms for aggregating market information, thus facilitating accurate price formation. The presence of index funds significantly enhances market liquidity during these auctions, contributing to increased trading volumes and price stability. However, the findings also indicate a complex relationship, as index fund activities can lead to increased volatility in turbulent market conditions. This dual impact underscores the need for market participants, including traders and regulators, to closely monitor index fund behavior during closing auctions. The review highlights the evolving landscape of financial markets and emphasizes the importance of understanding how these elements interact within the broader ecosystem. While the research provides valuable insights, limitations such as selection bias and methodological variability are acknowledged, suggesting areas for future research. Overall, this review contributes to a deeper understanding of the interplay between closing auctions and index funds, informing stakeholders about the implications for market efficiency and stability.

Using a quantitative approach, this study investigates the effect of port export and import volumes on economic growth in North Sumatra and West Sumatra Provinces. Time series data from the World Bank and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) from 2006 to 2023 are used as secondary data. The analysis uses the ARDL Panel model, which allows for analysis of data dynamics across time and regions. The results show that the three main indicators that affect economic growth (GRDP) in both provinces, both in the short and long term, are export volume, inflation, and exchange rates. In North Sumatra, export volume has a positive impact on GRDP, while import volume has a negative impact, indicating a risk of dependence on imports. Controlled inflation also has a positive impact, while the exchange rate shows a diversion. Policy recommendations are expected to improve global competitiveness and exchange rate stability through coordination of fiscal and monetary policies, support for the Export Capacity Building Program and MSMEs through the Regional Comprehensive Economic Framework (RCEP), and export diversification to reduce dependence on certain commodities. Climate change is increasingly recognized as a significant financial risk factor, particularly in developing countries where financial systems are often less resilient to environmental shocks. This study explores the relationship between climate-related financial risks, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and economic stability in developing nations. It highlights how both physical risks, such as extreme weather events (e.g., floods and droughts), and transition risks, including regulatory changes and shifts toward a low-carbon economy, deter FDI and contribute to economic volatility. The findings show that developing countries, which are more vulnerable to these risks, experience reduced FDI inflows due to the increased costs of adaptation and the potential for operational disruptions. Additionally, the study finds that countries with weaker financial institutions and governance structures are more susceptible to the economic instability induced by climate risks. The analysis suggests that climate risk mitigation strategies, such as strengthening financial sectors, improving governance, and implementing effective climate policies, can help reduce these risks and create a more stable investment environment. The research also identifies gaps in the literature, particularly the combined effect of climate risks and financial instability on FDI, which warrants further exploration. The study calls for more comprehensive research, particularly focusing on regional case studies and sector-specific impacts, to guide policymakers in fostering a climate-resilient economic environment that attracts sustainable foreign investment.

Migration and remittances have long been recognized as critical components of rural development and poverty alleviation, particularly in developing countries. This study explores the impact of migration flows and remittance patterns on local economies, focusing on their role in poverty reduction, community resilience, and sustainable rural development. Migration, particularly rural-to-urban and international migration, brings significant financial flows in the form of remittances, which improve household welfare by supporting basic needs such as food, education, and healthcare. Moreover, these remittances often stimulate local investment, particularly in agriculture and small businesses, contributing to economic diversification in rural areas. However, the effectiveness of these financial transfers varies regionally, with some areas experiencing greater benefits than others due to differences in infrastructure, financial services, and migration policies. While remittances contribute to poverty reduction and socio-economic stability, they are often underutilized for long-term investments due to their primary use for consumption rather than productive projects. Government assistance programs, on the other hand, focus on structural poverty alleviation but often face challenges in terms of reach, effectiveness, and sustainability in rural areas. This study concludes with policy recommendations aimed at maximizing the impact of remittances, including reducing transaction costs, encouraging investment, and improving financial inclusion in rural communities. Additionally, it suggests further research into the role of migration policies in facilitating remittances and enhancing their developmental impact. The findings underscore the importance of integrating migration and remittance-focused strategies into national rural development plans to foster sustainable economic growth and reduce rural poverty.

This study examines the relationship between educational attainment, gender inequality in education, and their impact on unemployment rates and economic resilience across various regions. Gender inequality in education has long-term consequences on labor market outcomes and economic stability. In regions with higher gender inequality, the underutilization of female talent results in higher unemployment rates and weaker economic resilience. In contrast, regions with higher gender equality in education show improved labor market performance and a more resilient economy. The study utilizes cross-regional regression analysis, incorporating data on education levels, gender inequality indices, unemployment rates, and economic resilience metrics. The findings suggest that gender inequality in education plays a more significant role in shaping unemployment rates and economic resilience than traditional macroeconomic variables such as GDP and inflation. Furthermore, the results highlight the importance of improving access to education for underrepresented genders, particularly women, to foster more inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The study emphasizes the need for policies that promote gender equality in education as a means to enhance labor market outcomes and strengthen economic resilience. Limitations of the study include potential data constraints and regional variations in cultural, economic, and policy contexts, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. Future research could expand this study by exploring different regions and countries to gain a deeper understanding of the long-term effects of reducing gender inequality in education on economic outcomes.

The phenomenon of hoaxes in the digital era has become a serious threat to social stability, democracy, and national security. Although the government has implemented various regulations, such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), the spread of hoaxes is still difficult to control. This article analyzes the development of legal awareness in overcoming hoaxes in Indonesia from a criminological perspective. With a literature study approach, this study highlights the weak legal awareness of the community as the main factor in the spread of hoaxes. Empirical studies show that political hoaxes dominate, with 55.5% of the total hoaxes identified in 2023, while 65% of hoaxes spread through closed WhatsApp groups. Criminological analysis uses several theories, such as the Theory of Crime Routines, Anomie Theory, and Differential Association Theory, which explain how weak social control and low legal culture make it easier for individuals to be involved in the spread of hoaxes. The results of this study recommend strategies to increase legal awareness through the integration of digital literacy in education, collaboration between the government and digital platforms, and strengthening policy-based regulations such as the NetzDG Law in Germany. With a systematic and data-based approach, it is hoped that public legal awareness will increase, so that it can reduce the spread of hoaxes and create a healthier and more responsible digital environment.
