This article discusses the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) integration on the general insurance underwriting model. This study used a Narrative Literature Review (NLR) to review relevant literature. The NLR review was conducted on scientific publications, industry reports, regulatory documents related to ESG, and general insurance underwriting from 2019 to 2025. The reviewed literature shows that adopting ESG factors in the underwriting process changes risk assessment and creates more sustainable practices in the insurance industry. The analysis results show that companies with higher ESG scores have better underwriting performance and attract more investment while increasing stakeholder trust, including an increasing trend of ESG factor integration into the underwriting process, especially in risk assessment and premium determination. Regulatory changes encourage insurance companies to adopt underwriting practices that consider more environmental and social aspects. This study also identifies challenges in implementation, including the limited standardized ESG data and the need to increase human resource capacity. The implications of this study provide insights for regulators and industry players in developing underwriting policies and strategies that are more responsive to ESG issues, as well as highlighting opportunities for ESG-based insurance product innovation in the future.

The concept of sustainable development, despite its increasing frequency in international law literature, is too vague to be clearly defined and implemented. The concept of sustainable development appears in various documents withdifferent, even competing, themes and scopes. Rather than being a simultaneous manifestation of three dimensions: economic, social, and environmental, it is essentially an economic and environmental concept, and economic development is the primary priority for all countries, both developed and developing. By failing to fulfill their obligations to developing countries, developed countries have created an atmosphere of mistrust in establishing global sustainable development platforms. Overall, it appears that although the concept and idea of sustainable development have gained widespread acceptance in international legal literature, and significant efforts have been made to assess the achievement of sustainable development, the unity of the three areas of economic development, social development, and environmental protection still faces challenges. There is a significant gap regarding the theoretical and practical position of sustainable development on the international stage and within the framework of international development law. The importance of this research lies in analyzing the constitutional protection of the right to sustainable development in the Iraqi Constitution and its compatibility with international standards. It also examines the legal and practical challenges facing Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan in implementing this right on the ground, and reviews the role of 2 governmental institutions and civil society in promoting and protecting the right to sustainable development.

This study aims to evaluate the sharia financial service strategy of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Banjarnegara Branch through the VRIO and PEST approaches, in order to identify internal advantages and external dynamics that affect the competitiveness of the institution. Using a qualitative-descriptive method, this study reveals that BSI Banjarnegara has a sustainable competitive advantage through sharia-based products that are difficult to imitate, a wide community network, and a personal service approach. In addition, the results of the PEST analysis show that political support, stable economic conditions, and the level of community religiosity are great opportunities for the growth of sharia finance in the region, although the level of digital technology adoption is still a challenge. The strategy of strengthening digitalization, education of sharia financial literacy, and product innovation such as Cicil Emas are the main keys in responding to market challenges and increasing financial inclusion. Thus, the results of this study provide a strategic direction for the development of sustainable and adaptive sharia services to changes in the business environment.

The songkok industry in Lamongan has quite a large economic potential, but still faces various challenges in increasing competitiveness, especially in facing increasingly tight market competition. Some of the main obstacles found are lack of innovation, limited access to wider markets, and low utilization of technology in production and marketing. This study aims to explore strategies to increase the competitiveness of local songkok products through a creative economic empowerment program using the Chambers Theory perspective. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, field observations, and literature studies. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively with three main stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the creative economic empowerment program plays a significant role in improving craftsmen's skills, encouraging innovation in design, and expanding the marketing reach of songkok products. By applying analysis based on Chambers Theory, this empowerment contributes to increasing power within (craftsmen's confidence and awareness), power to (individual capacity to innovate and develop businesses), power with (collaboration between craftsmen in the community), and power over (ability to face competition and external constraints). Based on these results, it can be concluded that empowering the creative economy is an effective strategy in increasing the competitiveness of Lamongan songkok products. Therefore, close cooperation is needed between the government, the artisan community, and the private sector in order to create a sustainable creative industry environment.

Noise generated by Diesel Power Plants (PLTD) is a significant environmental problem, especially in urban areas and settlements adjacent to power plant facilities. This study analyzes the noise level around the Fakfak Cotton Plant and its impact on the local community. This study uses a combination of methods, including noise level measurements using a Sound Level Meter (SLM), field observations, interviews with the community, and a SWOT analysis to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in noise mitigation. The measurement results show that the noise level generated exceeds the threshold of 55 dBA set by the Decree of the Minister of Environment Number 48 of 1996 for residential areas. This condition has a negative impact on the comfort, health, and social interaction of the community around the PLTD location, causing sleep disturbances, stress, and decreased quality of life. The SWOT analysis shows that although the PLTD has advantages in terms of sustainable operations and professional workers, the main weaknesses lie in the lack of soundproofing and the absence of regular noise evaluations. However, there is a great opportunity in the application of noise mitigation technologies, such as the installation of soundproofing, the use of acoustic walls, and planting vegetation as a sound barrier. In addition, collaboration with local governments and increasing environmental awareness can help manage noise impacts more effectively. The main threats identified include potential social conflicts with surrounding communities, negative health impacts, and changes in environmental policies that can affect PLTD operations. With the right mitigation strategies, such as the application of soundproofing technologies, improved communication with the community, and better integration of environmental policies, the environment around PLTDs can become more comfortable and conducive for the community. This study emphasizes the importance of regulatory and technology-based approaches in managing noise in urban environments, as well as the need for sustainable mitigation measures to maintain the well-being of communities around PLTDs..
