Gout is a musculoskeletal disease that occurs in the joints due to an increased concentration of uric acid in the blood. Risk factors that can cause high levels of uric acid include age, gender, obesity, purine diet, alcohol, and some medications. Therapies that can be given to the elderly who experience gout include ergonomic exercises. Objective : To determine the effectiveness of applying ergonomic exercise therapy as a non-pharmacological method to reduce high uric acid levels in the elderly. This study used a case study approach with two elderly had high uric acid levels. The intervention was carried out for 2 weeks by giving ergonomic exercises 4 times in 1 week consecutively with a duration of 20 minutes of exercise. There were changes in uric acid levels in both respondents and they decreased. Ergonomic gymnastics is a potential non-pharmacological method in reducing high uric acid levels in the elderly.

Background: Gout is a disease associated with high levels of uric acid in the blood. Apart from the aging process, gout can also occur due to the inhibition of the secretion process and a decrease in the enzyme uricase. The aging process in the elderly causes various health problems, as a result of which they are susceptible to diseases, one of which is an increase in uric acid. Uric acid numbers can be said to be abnormal if >6 mg/dl for women and >7.2 mg/dl for men. Non-pharmacological therapy that can be done is ergonomic exercise. The purpose of this study is to compare measurements of uric acid levels before and after ergonomic exercise. Methods: A case study of 2 respondents was conducted three times a week, with a duration of 19 minutes for each exercise. Results: The application of the two respondents resulted in a significant decrease in uric acid levels; namely, Mrs. S obtained a result of 4.8 mg/dl, while Mrs. T obtained a result of 5 mg/dl. Conclusion: The results of this study concluded that there was a decrease in uric acid levels in both respondents after ergonomic gymnastics.

The increasing trend of working from home since the COVID-19 pandemic has introduced new occupational health challenges, particularly regarding ergonomics. This study aimed to improve ergonomic awareness through structured education on proper work postures for home-based workers. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, the research evaluated the effectiveness of educational interventions based on behavior change theories. Results demonstrated that interventions using the Trans-Theoretical Model (TTM) reduced Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) scores from 5.65 to 3.95 and decreased forward head posture by 9°. Similarly, participatory ergonomic approaches increased straight back posture from 59% to 75% of work time, with a 98% participant satisfaction rate. Educational strategies combining short workplace demonstrations, reminder media, and physical exercises proved more effective than conventional training methods. Theory-based weekly training sessions reduced the proportion of high-risk workers from 60% to 21% within three months. The study concludes that structured work posture education based on behavior change theories effectively enhances ergonomic awareness among home-based workers and significantly reduces health risks associated with poor posture.

Background: The number of hypertension cases in Boyol ali Regency in 2019 was 26,685 people. Hypertension not only reduces the quality of life, but can also be life-threatening. A lifestyle that is less considered will be one of the factors for hypertension in the elderly. There are two treatments that can be given to people with hypertension, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Non-pharmacological therapy that can be done is physical activity such as exercise, one of which is ergonomic gymnastics. Objective: To describe the results of the implementation of ergonomic gymnastics in elderly people with hypertension in Kapurancak Village, Boyolali Regency. Method: this application with a case study that uses descriptive data collection methods and makes observations on 2 elderly respondents with a history of grade 2 hypertension. The instruments used are observation sheets, and sphygmomanometer. Results: After ergonomic exercise therapy for 20-30 minutes with a frequency of four times in two weeks showed a decrease in blood pressure in both respondents from grade 2 hypertension to grade 1 hypertension. Conclusion: Ergonomic exercise therapy can reduce blood pressure in the elderly.

Workers in the shoe sole making industry in Mergelo Mojokerto in carrying out the production process do work with unnatural postures that are carried out repeatedly. It was found that shoe sole workers experienced moderate and high Musculoskeletal Disorders. The purpose of this study, namely to analyze work postures and tenure with Musculoskeletal Disorders. This research method is quantitative cross sectional design with saturation sampling technique on 31 workers using spearman rank analysis of SPSS 26 application. The research instruments are Nordic Body Map (NBM), stopwatch, and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA). Based on the results of the analysis, the significance value of work posture with Musculoskeletal Disorders is 0.00 <0.05 and the significance value of repetitive motion with Musculoskeletal Disorders is 0.010 <0.05. Work posture and repetitive motion factors have a significant relationship with Musculoskeletal Disorders. This study suggests replacing work facilities that lack ergonomics and performing streching movements before performing work activities.

In a company increasing productivity is very important. This increase can be done by improving technological innovation. The technology that was redesigned was the roaster machine. The aim of this research is to make machine use and maintenance easier with new designs that may be more user-friendly and more sophisticated control technology or more durable materials that can improve machine performance and longevity. The method used in this research is the Zero One method. The Zero-One method is a decision development method that aims to determine alternatives (criteria). The results of the analysis from this research are to create a machine that can be made in accordance with ergonomic standards for workers, thereby reducing downtime and reducing production cycle times, thereby allowing for increased output without increasing working hours.

Ergonomic exercises can lower blood pressure by restoring the elasticity of blood vessels and improving blood flow. The research method used was a case study involving 2 different respondents. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of applying ergonomic exercises to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive clients. This type of research is descriptive in the form of a case study. The subjects in this study were two individuals with the same case in two different families with hypertension. Those who were given the same treatment where blood pressure was measured pre and post doing ergonomic exercises. The implementation was carried out 3 times a week for a duration of 30 minutes. The results of the study showed that the blood pressure of the respondents experienced a decrease in blood pressure in systole 14-37 MmHg and diastole 4-15 MmHg. The application of ergonomic exercises is effective in reducing blood pressure in hypertension sufferers.

This study aims to evaluate use of finger protection PPE in process of sorting plastic glass at SiHatin Waste Bank. The waste sorting process with high risk is the process of cutting plastic cup ring. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach, interviews, and observations to identify problems and find solutions to improve comfort and safety. PPE used for three months was proven to increase safety officers by 80.95%. However, there is discomfort experienced by 18 out of 20 officers due to several factors, namely: precision movements difficulty by 90%, sweat on fingers by 60%, inappropriate size by 45% and skin irritation by 35%. The proposed solutions include using more comfortable materials and ergonomic, setting break times, and training use of PPE to increase its effectiveness. In addition, development of cutting ring tool was developed to reduce the risk of injury and increase worker productivity.

East Aceh is one of the areas producing coconut plants, which have great benefits in everyday human life from the roots and stems to the shoots. Coconut milk is one of the ingredients used to make typical Acehnese food. The problem that exists when squeezing coconut milk is still manually using your hands. Strong force is needed to squeeze the coconut milk to get thick coconut milk, so housewives complain of pain in the upper arms and lower arms, especially the fingers. The research aims to determine the dimensions of the design and ergonomic measurements of the tool. The research method is anthropometry and statistical tests. From the results and discussion, it was obtained that five dimensions were determined, a data adequacy test was carried out with the results of all the data being declared valid, the uniformity test stated that all the data was uniform and all the data was declared to have a normal distribution. The percentiles used are different, where the 95th percentile (P95) is used for the dimensions of the width of the palm (metacarpal) (LTM), and the width of the palm (up to the thumb) (LTB), while the 5th percentile (P5) is used for the dimension of hand length (PT). , forearm length (PLB), upper arm length (PLA). In conclusion, the ergonomic measurements obtained were 15.88 cm for tool handle diameter, 31.03 cm for tool height, 23.60 cm for tool lever length, 10.33 cm for tool handle length, and 10.67cm for tube diameter. In the context of globalization and intense competition, the work environment is the key to organizational success.  Employees, as key assets, must operate in an environment that supports physical and mental well-being.  High target pressure often has a negative impact, making work stress a serious problem.  The stress-free office concept emerged to create a work environment that is conducive to employee well-being, with Ergonomic Interior Design as an important element.  This research uses literature studies to explore the application of Ergonomic Interior Design in supporting worker health and happiness.  The results show that ergonomic design has a significant impact in creating a conducive work environment.  Factors such as lighting, ventilation and efficient workspace layout have been proven to contribute to employee well-being.  Challenges such as costs, awareness, and changes in organizational culture need to be addressed.  This research emphasizes the importance of a deep understanding of the mechanisms of ergonomic design and its impact on employee well-being.

This approach encompasses the arrangement of furniture, the selection of equipment, and the configuration of the physical workspace to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, reduce fatigue, and improve productivity. Key elements include adjustable chairs and desks, proper lighting, adequate ventilation, and the strategic placement of computer monitors and keyboards. By incorporating ergonomic principles, organizations can mitigate the risk of repetitive strain injuries and other work-related ailments, fostering a healthier and more engaged workforce. The implementation of ergonomic solutions not only contributes to physical health but also supports mental well-being by reducing stress and enhancing overall job satisfaction. As a result, businesses benefit from increased employee performance, lower absenteeism, and a more positive organizational culture.

UKM Wintolo is a small and medium business that produces molds using liquid aluminum as the base material. UKM Wintolo has 3 workers with different age ranges. When initial observations were made, it was seen that the position and posture of workers when working were not neutral and not ergonomic, so community service activities were carried out at UKM Wintolo with the theme of improving processes and work environments in accordance with ergonomics rules at UKM Wintolo. This activity was carried out for 2 days, namely the first day was carried out by providing socialization material according to the theme of the activity, and taking measurements using the anthropometric method in making work facilities. The work facilities that have been refurbished include work chairs that are used for the mold preparation process and the process of taking mold results. On the second day, the products that had been made for these two activities were handed over. Community service activities are carried out to avoid musculoskeletal disorder (MSDs) complaints and this will subsequently have an impact on increasing worker productivity. Through this activity, it can be seen that there is a change in the position and posture of workers while working.

The development of digital technology has significantly changed the work paradigm, creating a work environment that is not bound by geographical boundaries through the utilization of cloud platforms, online collaboration tools, and advanced digital communications. This transformation increases productivity and enables collaboration between employees, even if they work in different locations. However, these changes also bring new challenges related to employee well-being. One of the main issues is stress due to the blurring of working time boundaries, with employees often struggling to distinguish between work and personal time. In addition, there is an increased risk of physical injury due to the use of non-ergonomic digital devices, including injuries from improper keyboard and mouse use. To overcome these challenges, companies must implement ergonomic office equipment to support the physical and mental health of their employees. Modern technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), plays an important role in selecting and customizing ergonomic office equipment to the individual needs of employees. AI analyzes equipment usage and posture data and recommends adjustments to prevent injuries and improve work comfort. The purpose of this study is to discuss the importance of office technology and ergonomics in improving employee productivity and well-being. By integrating advanced technology and ergonomic principles, companies can create a more comfortable and healthy work environment. This not only increases productivity, but also improves job satisfaction, creativity and employee retention. An ergonomic work environment reduces stress and fatigue, allowing employees to work more effectively and efficiently. The research method used in this study is a literature review that collects and analyzes information from various sources regarding office technology, ergonomics, and their impact on work productivity. The study found that the use of ergonomics-enabled technology in the workplace significantly increases employee happiness. Companies that invest in ergonomic technology and equipment can create a sustainable competitive advantage through a healthier and more productive workforce. This study shows that a balance between technology and ergonomics is key to creating a productive and sustainable work environment.

In Indonesia, almost every year train accidents occur which result in casualties and considerable material losses. The factors that cause train accidents are human resources, facilities, infrastructure and environmental factors. The method used in this study is the measurement of the level of fatigue that occurs in machinists and assistant machinists using the fatigue index calculator and for measuring the quality of sleep whether good or not using the Pitsburgh sleep quality index questionnaire. Data collection is divided into two parts, namely the collection of working time data from machinists and assistant machinists to determine the level of fatigue and the collection of data from the distribution of questionnaires to determine sleep quality. Working time data is the schedule of machinists and assistant machinists every day which will then be calculated the level of fatigue using the fatigue index calculator. For the calculation of sleep quality, the Pitsburgh sleep quality questionnaire was distributed to 62 respondents. From the results of the calculation of the fatigue index calculator for machinists and assistant machinists every day, it is found that the fatigue index value varies for each day. This can also be seen from the results of the calculation of the standard deviation for 62 respondents which ranges between the value of 6 or 7. The results of the calculation of the sleep quality index showed that 84% of machinists and assistant machinists have a good sleep quality.

Applying ergonomic principles in work tool design for manufacturing industries is a crucial factor in improving productivity while maintaining worker health. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of adaptive work tool design models based on cognitive and physiological ergonomic principles, identify interaction patterns between workstation design and operational performance, and develop a conceptual framework for integrating ergonomic principles into production cycles. The research method adopts a cognitive-physiological approach with qualitative analysis of human-machine interactions, biomechanical simulations using digital human modeling, and muscle load measurements through electromyography. Implementation was conducted using a participatory ergonomics approach and IMU sensor-based real-time monitoring systems. Results show that using materials with controlled deformation capabilities (15-20%) in work tools reduces muscle work by up to 27%, while adaptive automation system integration improves assembly accuracy by 18%. Workstations with ergonomic adjustments increase assembly speed by an average of 12%, and low-cost ergonomic interventions effectively improve productivity by 11-15% in resource-limited environments. Longitudinal analysis reveals that evidence-based ergonomic investments yield a 230% ROI through increased productivity, reduced injury compensation costs, and decreased employee turnover. IMU-based posture monitoring systems integrated with adaptive feedback loops reduced musculoskeletal disorder incidents by up to 41%. In conclusion, ergonomic optimization based on cognitive-physiological principles creates synergy between production efficiency and worker well-being, making it an essential component in achieving sustainable productivity.

As age changes, without realizing it, elderly people will also experience physical, psychosocial and spiritual changes. One of these changes is cardiovascular and musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal system disorders are a factor in chronic diseases and motor system disorders in the elderly such as rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid Arthritis is at risk of causing complications in the form of carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition that causes numbness, tingling, pain or weakness. on the hands and wrists. This research uses a quantitative research design using a one group pre-post test (pre-experimental) method. A quantitative design is used because the data will be used to determine the influence between variables which are expressed using numbers or a numerical scale. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample size of 20 respondents. Data analysis used paired t test t test. shows that from the results of the dependent t test or paired sample T-test, it can be seen that the average level of pain before and after doing ergonomic exercises is 1,650 and obtained P value = 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an influence of ergonomic exercises on pain levels in elderly people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis at PSSW Budi Mulia 1 Cipayung in 2023

High school students spend a lot of time at school in daily activities covering ± 6 hours with teaching and learning activities that dominate in the classroom. In the learning process students are more in a sitting position, as well as those experienced by SMA N 4 Takengon students. In this activity, the increase in knowledge in students increased by 74%.

PT EQY is a textile company, especially yarn spinning. The activities of the staffing/packing department at PT EQY are packing, lifting, and moving cardboard boxes. This activity still relies on human power or manual material handling. This work is carried out repeatedly and continuously, causing complaints of pain in several parts of the body during work. This raises the risk of work postures such as Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This research aims to produce a design for work aids that can reduce the risk of Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) using the Ovako Work Analysis System (OWAS) method. Based on the problem, work posture analysis was carried out using the OWAS method to find out whether the work posture of staffing/packing employees falls into the risky posture category or not. Based on the results of the Ovako Work Analysis System (OWAS) analysis research, it shows that the posture of staffing/packing workers is included in the high risk category and needs immediate improvement. This improvement involves designing work facilities, namely a handlift and packing table with an ergonomics approach, resulting in a handlift design with a height of 200 cm (2000 mm) and a packing table with a width of 200 cm (2000 mm) and a packing table with a length of 60 cm (600mm), width 60 cm(600mm), and height 104 cm(1040mm).

Daarul Jannah Mosque, located in Palem 1 Adhyaksa Sukapura Complex, Bandung Regency, is the result of a local community initiative through self-help. In addition to being a place of worship, this mosque is also expected to function as a centre for community social activities. However, the results of observations and interviews with the Chairperson of the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) and the local RT Chairperson identified several problems with the interior elements of the mosque. These problems include the partition between the male and female prayer areas that is not optimal, the storage racks for prayer equipment that are not by needs, and the lack of ergonomic lesehan tables for religious study activities. In addition, the layout and function of the room are still not well organized, and there is no child-friendly space that can be used as an education centre. This community service aims to provide recommendations for more optimal interior design and arrangement according to the needs of the mosque and the local community. The methods used include location surveys, interviews with related parties, literature studies, and periodic design processes involving discussions between the service team and the mosque. The final result of this activity is a product of interior partition design for male and female prayer areas, recommendations for storage cabinet designs in the male and female areas, and a lesehan prayer table.
