This research is motivated by the widespread use of non-standard Indonesian on social media, which has resulted in low public awareness of the importance of implementing Indonesian according to the rules. The purpose of this study is to analyze Instagram users’ awareness of using standard Indonesian words and to assess the effectiveness of language coaching through social media. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, where data were collected through polls using the Instagram Story feature, observation of uploaded content, and analysis of audience interactions between account managers and followers. The findings show that most social media users still tend to use nonstandard word forms in daily communication. However, after receiving coaching through educational content, there was a significant improvement in understanding and applying standard word forms. This study concludes that Instagram can serve as an effective and engaging medium for language development, as it can reach diverse audiences and encourage users to be more aware, responsible, and wise in using proper Indonesian according to the norms of the Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI) and the Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI).

State speeches in international forums are a strategic arena for the practice of diplomacy and leadership image management. This study analyzes President Prabowo Subianto's rhetorical style in his speech at the 80th UN General Assembly on September 23, 2025. Using Aristotelian theory, namely ethos, pathos, and logos, to understand how rhetoric functions in strengthening political legitimacy, humanitarian solidarity, and international policy arguments. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, this study examines transcripts of official speeches and identifies quotations that represent each persuasive mode. The analysis shows that Prabowo builds ethos through historical references, concrete actions of Indonesia such as the contribution of peacekeeping troops, and pathos is depicted through narratives of suffering, calls for solidarity, and an emphasis on the future of the younger generation; while logos is demonstrated through the presentation of data, policy plans such as the net-zero target, technical solutions such as sea walls, and systematic cause-and-effect arguments. This combination of ethos, pathos, and logos confirms that the speech was not simply a policy statement but also a rhetorical diplomatic tool that strengthened Indonesia's image as a constructive global actor. These findings contribute to the study of leadership communication and diplomatic rhetoric, particularly in the context of developing countries seeking to enhance the role of multilateralism and soft power.

A steel truss bridge is a structure constructed from a series of interconnected steel bars. The loads received by this structure are analyzed and transferred to the steel bars that make up the structure. Factors that need to be analyzed in bridge construction include the location and surrounding environmental conditions. After identifying the type of soil and bedrock beneath the surface, the materials used must meet strength or durability test standards before the bridge can be operated. The materials used must comply with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). In addition to the factors mentioned above, the bridge must undergo a feasibility evaluation. Among the various tests used to evaluate bridge strength, one is vibration testing. The vibration test method, when compared to the load test method, shows higher cost efficiency and does not cause damage to the structure.

Content commodification has become a dominant phenomenon within Indonesia’s digital ecosystem, where communication messages are no longer oriented toward use value such as education and enlightenment, but toward exchange value determined by algorithms, virality, and monetization potential. This transformation is evident in the behavior of content creators, online media, politicians, and government institutions that adjust their message formats to align with the logic of platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Political content during the 2024 Election, clickbait practices in online journalism, and the aestheticization of public campaigns such as Bangga Buatan Indonesia(BBI) and Gerakan Kamis Pakai Lokal (GASPOL) demonstrate that content today is produced primarily to capture attention rather than to strengthen social literacy. Using a constructivist paradigm and a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzes how exchange value dominates meaning-making processes in digital spaces. Through the lenses of media political economy, cultural industries, and surveillance capitalism, the study shows that content commodification shifts the function of communication from a deliberative public sphere to a commercial arena governed by algorithms. These findings highlight the urgent need for digital literacy and communication ethics to safeguard the social role of media in Indonesia.

This study aims to analyze the representation of women in beauty product advertisements on social media, focusing on the Nivea Care & Protect Body Serum advertisement. Beauty advertisements often depict women within specific social constructions related to beauty standards, gender roles, and power relations. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using Sara Mills’ Critical Discourse Analysis, which emphasizes the position of subject (speaker) and object (spoken of) as well as how women are positioned in texts and visuals. Data were collected through documentation of Nivea Indonesia’s official social media posts. The results show that the advertisement not only reproduces the ideal beauty standard identified with fair and well-maintained skin but also positions women as both subjects and objects of consumption. It concludes that while there are efforts toward empowerment, the advertisement still reinforces dominant discourses that strengthen gender stereotypes in the beauty industry.

This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the role of the United States in the Cold War rivalry against the Soviet Union, spanning from the end of World War II to the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. The research focuses on the political, military, ideological, and economic strategies employed by the United States to contain the spread of communism through the implementation of the containment doctrine, the establishment of security alliances such as NATO, and economic assistance programs such as the Marshall Plan. The findings reveal that the rivalry between the two superpowers extended beyond military and structural domains, reaching into technological competition through the nuclear arms race and the Space Race, as well as geopolitical confrontations manifested in proxy wars across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The theoretical framework, which incorporates perspectives from realism, liberalism, and constructivism, demonstrates that U.S. actions were shaped by a combination of power interests, ideological identity, and the pursuit of global leadership. Further analysis indicates that these strategies had a profound impact on the formation of the post–Cold War international order and continue to influence contemporary global politics. The study concludes that the involvement of the United States in the Cold War was a long-term strategic process that not only determined the direction of the conflict itself but also played a crucial role in shaping modern geopolitical structures and international relations.

This article examines the implications of parental verbal violence on the socio-emotional development of early childhood aged 3–6 years. The study was conducted through an extensive literature review supported by general field observations in community settings. The purpose of this research is to describe the phenomenon of verbal violence experienced by young children, analyze its effects on their emotional security, self-confidence, and social adaptation, and identify contributing factors from both the family environment and parental characteristics. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, relevant books, journal articles, and institutional reports were synthesized to construct a comprehensive understanding of how negative communication patterns shape children’s socio-emotional development. The findings indicate that verbal violence such as yelling, scolding, insulting, labeling, and threatening can disrupt children’s emotional regulation, lower their self-esteem, and hinder their ability to interact positively with peers. Repeated exposure to harsh language also increases the risk of anxiety, aggression, and social withdrawal. Conversely, positive, supportive, and empathetic parental communication fosters emotional resilience, empathy, and healthy social behavior. This article highlights the urgent need for parents, educators, and communities to strengthen awareness regarding the harmful impact of verbal violence and to promote nurturing communication practices that support the holistic development of young children.

The Calong traditional musical instrument from West Sulawesi is a cultural heritage of the Mandar people, possessing strong artistic and symbolic value. However, documentation of the instrument's construction and ornamentation remains limited. This study aims to identify the Calong's construction, analyze the variety of ornaments used, and uncover the aesthetic meaning and symbolism inherent in the instrument. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including direct observation, documentation, interviews with craftsmen and artists, and a visit to the West Sulawesi Pavilion at the TMII (Indonesian Museum of Traditional Art) as a comparative source for cultural representation. The results indicate that the Calong's construction utilizes specific bamboo selection and splitting techniques, which influence its resonance quality. The ornamentation reflects symbols of the relationship between humans and nature, ancestors, and the Mandar people's philosophy of life. Aesthetically, the combination of form, texture, and motifs creates a distinctive visual character while strengthening its musical identity. The study's conclusions confirm that the Calong is not only a musical instrument but also a cultural artifact with aesthetic and symbolic value that is important to preserve through education, cultural awareness, and ongoing documentation.

In the learning process, there are various important aspects that must be considered, especially by teachers as transmitters of knowledge. The success of learning depends heavily on the teacher's ability to manage the classroom to create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Therefore, teachers need to choose the right learning method so that learning objectives can be achieved effectively. One method that can be used is Outdoor Learning, which is learning outside the classroom that provides opportunities for students to develop talents and creativity more broadly through direct experience in the open air. Management of the learning environment is also a crucial factor in supporting learning success. Several things that need to be considered include understanding the nature and development of student intelligence, getting to know students individually, utilizing student behavior in organizing learning, and developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. In addition, teachers need to create an attractive classroom, utilize the environment as a learning resource, provide constructive feedback, and differentiate between students' physical and mental activities. The learning environment itself consists of indoor and outdoor environments. The indoor environment includes school facilities such as classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and auditoriums. Meanwhile, the outdoor environment includes places outside the school that can be used as learning resources, such as museums, mosques, monuments, and fields. Prospective teachers need to understand the importance of managing the learning environment and understand the various types and benefits of learning environments to support an effective learning process.

Democracy is not only understood as a political system and state institutional mechanisms, but also as a value and culture of life that must be instilled from an early age. This article aims to examine the role of the family as the primary informal educational institution in developing a civilized democratic character in children. Through a literature review and descriptive-qualitative analysis, this article examines the concept of family-based democratic education, referring to theories of social and moral development and the dynamics of Indonesian democracy over time. The study's findings indicate that families play a strategic role in instilling democratic values such as justice, responsibility, tolerance, deliberation, and respect for differences through daily practices, including open dialogue, parental moral role models, the division of tasks and responsibilities, and children's involvement in family decision-making. Empirical findings from a case study in Yogyakarta confirm that children raised in democratic families have better social, emotional, and political awareness skills. Family-based democratic education has been shown not only to shape children's behavior within the home environment but also to prepare them to become critical, ethical citizens capable of constructive participation in society and the nation. This study aims to analyze the representation of hegemony in the film Kupu-Kupu Kertas using Antonio Gramsci’s hegemony theory and a literary sociology approach. As a medium of mass communication, film not only conveys stories but also produces and reproduces cultural values, ideologies, and power structures that operate subtly within society. Set against the historical backdrop of 1965, the film portrays ideological clashes between NU/Ansor and the PKI, which affect not only political spheres but also everyday culture, social relations, and moral dynamics that shape the collective consciousness of Javanese society. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through content analysis of the film using an observation–note technique to identify scenes, dialogues, and visual symbols related to culture, hegemony, and ideology. The analysis focuses on revealing how dominant values are constructed and negotiated through the representation of characters, narratives, and social traditions portrayed in the film. In conclusion, Kupu-Kupu Kertas not only documents the political tragedy of 1965 but also demonstrates that hegemony operates through subtle mechanisms embedded in culture, morality, and patterns of thought. This study affirms the relevance of Gramsci’s theory in examining literary works and films as social texts that practice power while also opening space for understanding individual resistance to ideological domination.

Instagram has become one of the most influential digital platforms for the construction and dissemination of lifestyle meanings, particularly through the presence of social media influencers. Among various lifestyle narratives, luxury is one of the most dominant and ideologically loaded representations circulated by influencers. This study examines how luxury is represented, constructed, and naturalized in the Instagram content of female Indonesian influencers using Roland Barthes’ semiotic framework. The object of this research consists of visual and textual Instagram posts that display luxury-related lifestyles, including fashion, travel, leisure, and consumption practices. The main problem addressed in this study concerns how signs of luxury operate at the levels of denotation, connotation, and myth to shape audience perceptions of success, femininity, and social status. The objective of this research is to reveal the ideological meanings embedded in influencer content and to explain how luxury is transformed into a normalized and desirable lifestyle. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with semiotic analysis. Data were collected through purposive sampling of Instagram posts from selected female Indonesian influencers with significant follower engagement. The findings show that luxury is represented not merely through high-priced commodities but through symbolic systems involving aesthetics, body presentation, spatial settings, and narrative captions. At the mythological level, luxury is naturalized as the result of personal effort, self-discipline, and modern femininity, thereby obscuring structural inequalities and reinforcing consumerist ideology. This study concludes that Instagram influencers function as cultural agents who reproduce dominant myths of success and luxury in digital culture.

The integration of language and culture plays a crucial role in shaping the complexity of human cognitive processes. Language acts not only as a means of conveying messages but also as a conceptual system that influences how individuals construct mental representations, process information, and reason. Culture, on the other hand, provides a set of values, norms, and thought patterns that shape attention, interpretation of experiences, and strategies for understanding the social world. A review of literature from the fields of linguistic relativity, cultural psychology, neurolinguistics, and cross-cultural cognition found that differences in language structure, bilingual experience, and cultural value orientations result in variations in perception, memory, and executive function. Neurocognitive findings indicate that the influence of language and culture is evident down to the level of brain activation. Furthermore, the sociocultural approach emphasizes the role of language as a mediating tool in the process of internalizing values and developing higher-order cognitive abilities. Thus, human cognition is the result of a dynamic interaction between language, culture, and social experience.
