This study examines the cultural meanings contained in student protest slogans during the October 2025 demonstrations using an anthropolinguistic approach. Language in protest slogans functions not only as a communication tool but also as a cultural representation reflecting social values, ideology, collective identity, and social practices. The purpose of this study is to reveal the cultural meanings embedded in student protest slogans and explain how these meanings are constructed through linguistic choices. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with observation, note-taking, documentation, and brief interviews with participants as data collection techniques. The data were analyzed using distributional methods by identifying linguistic elements such as metaphors, irony, lexical choices, and sentence structures, then relating them to socio-cultural contexts. The findings show that protest slogans represent values of social solidarity, nationalism, social justice, transparency, criticism of power, gender equality, and resistance to state repression. In addition, slogans construct collective identities between citizens, government, and authorities, while carrying strong socio-political ideologies. These findings confirm that protest slogans are complex cultural practices and reflect students’ collective awareness in responding to social dynamics.

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic educational philosophy in shaping religious moderation among the younger generation and to identify challenges in its implementation. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method through content analysis of relevant literature and academic sources. The findings reveal that Islamic educational philosophy has a significant role in promoting the values of tawazun (balance), tasamuh (tolerance), i’tidal (justice), and wasathiyah (moderation) as the foundation of moderate religious attitudes and behaviors. The implementation of these values is reflected through curriculum integration, inclusive learning processes, and the development of a supportive school culture that encourages mutual respect and diversity. Nevertheless, several obstacles still hinder its effectiveness, including narrow religious understanding, low levels of digital literacy, the spread of radical narratives in social media, and limited teacher competence in implementing moderation-based education. Therefore, strengthening religious moderation requires synergy among philosophical concepts, educators, families, communities, and the national education system.

Family communication plays a crucial role in shaping the character and behavior of adolescents, especially in facing social challenges such as online gambling. This study aims to determine how parental communication patterns influence adolescents' involvement in online gambling activities in Lalang Village, Rana Mese District, East Manggarai Regency. Furthermore, this study also identifies various efforts made by parents to address this problem. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate four family communication patterns implemented by parents: pluralistic, consensual, protective, and laissez-faire. The pluralistic pattern is characterized by open communication and equal discussion, which encourages children to avoid online gambling. The consensual pattern combines warm communication with an emphasis on shared values. Conversely, the protective pattern tends to be dominant, where parents supervise without providing space for dialogue, resulting in children becoming withdrawn. The laissez-faire pattern, with minimal communication, makes children feel free to engage in gambling. This study uses the symbolic interaction theory, namely mind, self, and society. In addition to communication patterns, this study also found that parents undertake various efforts, such as limiting digital device use, providing advice, and increasing supervision of their children's social environment. These efforts demonstrate that their effectiveness is highly dependent on the quality of communication within the family.

While there are negative effects, such as addiction and a decline in the quality of social relationships, online gambling also presents opportunities in the digital economy. This study recommends the need for better regulation and educational programs to raise public awareness about the risks associated with online gambling, as well as to leverage its potential benefits. Thus, this research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the role of online gambling in shaping global identity and the dynamics of modern society.

This article aims to reconstruct legal awareness and social justice in the context of a contemporary rule of law through the integration of economic law, digital law, civil law, criminal law, and constitutional law within the framework of citizenship rights and Islamic Sociological Jurisprudence Theory. The main problem of this research stems from the fact that the development of the modern legal system tends to be sectoral, formalistic, and not fully responsive to social change, unequal access to justice, and digital transformation that affects the relationship between citizens and the law. This research uses a normative legal research method with a conceptual, legislative, and sociological approach. The results of the study indicate that legal awareness is not simply understood as formal compliance with norms, but must be developed as a substantive awareness oriented towards social justice, protection of citizenship rights, and public welfare. From the perspective of Islamic Sociological Jurisprudence, law is positioned not only as a regulatory instrument, but also as a means of social transformation based on the values of justice, moral responsibility, and siding with the interests of society. Integration across legal branches is crucial for the legal system to more comprehensively address issues related to economics, digitalization, civil relations, criminal enforcement, and state governance. Therefore, the reconstruction of legal awareness must be directed toward establishing a legal paradigm that is integrative, humanistic, adaptive, and socially just.

This article examines umpasa as the determinant of the validity of the Mangalahat Horbo ritual and as a vehicle for transmitting the cultural values of the Batak Toba people from an anthropolinguistic perspective. Mangalahat Horbo is a buffalo sacrifice ritual that functions simultaneously as a cosmological, political, and linguistic event. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using three theoretical frameworks: Dell Hymes' (1974) SPEAKING model to analyze the ritual as a speech event, Roland Barthes' (1968) semiotics to dissect the denotative and connotative meanings of umpasa, and Kluckhohn's (1953) theory of cultural values and Sibarani's (2014) local wisdom theory to identify embedded cultural values. The findings reveal that umpasa operates on three simultaneous layers of meaning: pragmatic-performative, social-hierarchical, and cosmological-ecological. Umpasa is not merely an aesthetic ornament but a constitutive element of the ritual that shapes the social and cosmological reality of the Bius community. Eight cultural values are identified: communicative courtesy, adat knowledge transmission, self-restraint, collective responsibility, cultural preservation, cosmological reciprocity, distributive justice, and ecological harmony. This study affirms the urgency of anthropolinguistic documentation of Mangalahat Horbo before the Parhata masters of umpasa diminish further.

This study aims to identify and analyze Ramadan-specific lexicons used by Indonesian Muslim communities on social media, as well as to describe the cultural meanings embedded within them. The study employs an anthropolinguistic approach with a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation and note-taking techniques from three social media platforms X (Twitter), TikTok, and Instagram during the Ramadan 1446 H/2025 period. A total of 32 Ramadan-specific lexicons were identified and classified into three categories: greetings and expressions (12 items), worship-related lexicons (10 items), and culinary lexicons (10 items). The findings reveal that Ramadan lexicons circulating on social media reflect a blend of Islamic religious values, local Indonesian cultural traditions, and the influence of digital globalization. The hybrid nature of the language used — including code-mixing between Indonesian, Arabic, and English — illustrates the dynamic cultural identity of contemporary Indonesian Muslims. Ultimately, this study affirms that language is a living mirror of culture, one that continues to evolve alongside social and technological change.

The development of globalization and digital culture has given rise to an epistemological crisis that shifts the authority of truth from revelation to social construction, so that the authority of the Bible in Christian education is increasingly marginalized. This condition has an impact on the low internalization of the value of faith, where students understand the Bible cognitively but do not live it in daily practice. This research aims to reconstruct the authority of the Bible in Christian education through an integrative and contextual approach in the midst of global cultural fragmentation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method that integrates theological, pedagogical, and digital cultural contexts. Data were obtained from theological literature, educational theory, and relevant journal articles, which were analyzed using content analysis techniques and theological-constructive reflection. The results show that the crisis of biblical authority is influenced by epistemic shifts, the dominance of post-truth culture, low internalization of values, and non-contextual pedagogical approaches. This research creates a model of reconstruction of biblical authority that integrates the epistemological, pedagogical, and bruxistic dimensions in a transformational manner. In conclusion, this reconstruction does not change the theological substance of the Bible but updates the approach to learning to be more dialogical, reflective, and contextual, so that the authority of the Bible remains relevant in shaping the faith and character of learners in the global era.

The crisis of authority in global culture is a complex phenomenon reflecting a fundamental shift in how humans understand truth, values, and the sources of legitimacy of knowledge. This research focuses on the dynamics of epistemological change in global society influenced by digital technology, cultural relativism, and value pluralism. The main issue studied is how this crisis of authority influences the construction of truth and value systems in contemporary society, as well as its implications for social and spiritual life. The aim of this research is to develop an interdisciplinary analysis that integrates perspectives from philosophy, sociology, theology, and media studies in understanding this phenomenon. The method used is a qualitative approach based on systematic literature studies with a critical analysis of recent academic sources. The main findings indicate that the crisis of authority is characterized not only by the weakening of traditional institutions but also by the emergence of "alternative authorities" based on algorithms, public opinion, and subjective experience. This results in the fragmentation of truth, the relativization of values, and a crisis of epistemological legitimacy. The synthesis of this research confirms that the reconstruction of authority requires an integrative approach that combines rationality, ethics, and spiritual dimensions. In conclusion, the crisis of authority in global culture is not merely a challenge, but rather an opportunity to build a new epistemological paradigm that is more holistic, reflective, and rooted in transcendent values.

This article examines the role of Christian theology in dealing with pluralism and secularism in the era of globalization. The era of globalization is marked by an increasing plurality of religions, cultures, and various perspectives on life that in many ways are moving away from a theocentric perspective. In that context, Christian theology is faced with the responsibility to be present as a reflective and transformative force that carries messages of peace, truth, and certainty of faith. This research aims to explore the role of Christian theology in an increasingly pluralistic society and influenced by the currents of secularism that have the potential to erode the values of faith. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various literature related to the concept of Christian theology, the impact of secularism on the life of faith, and various relevant theological responses in dealing with these challenges. The results of the study show that inclusive theological education, a conciliatory approach in interreligious relations, a holistic transformation of church life, and the active participation of the church in social service are concrete forms of the contribution of Christianity in a pluralistic society. Through this approach, Christian theology functions not only as a doctrinal framework, but also as a praxis that presents the values of the Kingdom of God in social life.

This study describes a comparative analysis of public financial systems in the ancient world, medieval Europe, and early Islam from a social justice perspective. The purpose of this study is to analyze the public financial systems of the ancient world, medieval Europe, and early Islam from a social justice perspective. The research method is qualitative. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the ancient world had an administratively efficient financial system but was highly centered on the power of the ruler, resulting in high social inequality. In medieval Europe, the financial system was influenced by feudalism and religious values, but was fragmented and dependent on the elite, resulting in an unequal distribution of wealth. Meanwhile, early Islam presented a more structured financial system through the Baitul Mal (Financial Treasury) and instruments such as zakat, kharaj, and jizyah, oriented towards social justice and wealth redistribution. However, all three systems have their respective weaknesses, especially in aspects of implementation, accountability, and equity. This study concludes that social justice in the public financial system requires the integration of institutional efficiency, ethical values, and strong redistribution mechanisms.

This study aims to analyze the influence of the TikTok application on changes in the lifestyles of teenage girls in the digital age. TikTok, as one of the most popular social media platforms among the younger generation, plays an important role in shaping the way they think, behave, and interact socially. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to describe the challenges faced in maintaining a positive lifestyle, as well as efforts to minimize its negative impacts. The results of the study show that TikTok has a dual impact: positively, this platform facilitates self-expression, creativity, and the development of interests; however, negatively, excessive use can trigger consumptive behavior, decreased self-confidence, and deviations from social and cultural values. Factors such as beauty trends, imitation of foreign cultures, and social pressure in the virtual world also influence the lifestyles of adolescent girls. To reduce these negative impacts, it is necessary to improve digital literacy, parental supervision, and education on social media ethics in schools. With a wise approach, TikTok can be used as a positive tool in building the character, creativity, and self-confidence of adolescent girls in the digital age.

Flood disasters have repeatedly affected Aceh Tamiang Regency for over fifteen years, causing significant material and socio-cultural losses. This study aims to examine the social response of the community through a literature review approach, using Jurgen Habermas's Communicative Action Theory as the analytical framework. Data were collected systematically from national journal articles, scientific proceedings, and academic reports related to flood mitigation and community social response in Aceh Tamiang. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis and thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal that the community's response is primarily driven by local solidarity rooted in cultural values and local wisdom such as hadih maja. In Habermasian terms, this social response reflects the lifeworld domain, manifesting in voluntary collective action. However, a structural tension exists between the government's top-down system and the community's communicative rationality. Effective disaster mitigation requires the development of participatory public spaces that bridge the system and lifeworld, enabling the transformation from instrumental action to communicative action, thereby strengthening collective resilience against flood disasters.

The development of social media in the digital era has significantly changed children’s social interaction patterns. Besides providing benefits such as easier access to information and opportunities for creativity, social media also brings negative impacts on children’s psychological, social, and moral development. This study aims to analyze the restriction of social media use among children from the perspective of Jürgen Habermas, especially regarding the concepts of the public sphere, communicative rationality, and the colonization of the lifeworld. This research uses a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the collection and analysis of relevant scientific articles. Data validity was strengthened through inclusion and exclusion criteria as well as source triangulation. The findings indicate that social media use among children has an ambivalent impact. Positive effects can emerge when there is strong parental supervision, while weak supervision increases the risk of exposure to harmful content, psychological problems, and reduced quality of social interaction. Restricting social media use through time regulation, content control, and digital education is considered important for protecting children’s development. From Habermas’s perspective, children are vulnerable in the digital public sphere because of their limited communicative rationality. Therefore, restrictions are viewed as efforts to protect children’s values and rationality from distortion by the digital media system.

Public facility cleanliness is a reflection of cultural values and collective social responsibility. Bus stops, as daily transit points for thousands of commuters, often face declining cleanliness due to limited user participation and management. This community service program was conducted on April 22, 2026, at RSAL Bus Stop, Surabaya, Indonesia, with one researcher as the sole implementer. The objectives were to improve physical cleanliness, provide environmental education, and enhance aesthetics through greening. The method consisted of three activities: installing cleanliness reminder posters, cleaning the bus stop area, and adding ornamental plants in flower pots. Evaluation employed qualitative descriptive techniques, including observation, photographic documentation, and informal interviews. Findings revealed that the bus stop floor, initially littered with plastic waste, cigarette butts, and dry leaves, became clean after sweeping. Posters were successfully placed in visible positions, and three flower pots containing Sansevieria trifasciata and Epipremnum aureum created a fresher atmosphere. Users responded positively, noting improved comfort and cleanliness. The synthesis indicates that simple interventions by a single individual can generate meaningful improvements when combining physical cleaning, visual education, and greening. This initiative demonstrates that small-scale university-led social responsibility programs can serve as replicable models for sustainable public facility management.
