Soft skills are essential competencies that teachers must possess to create an effective, communicative, and student-centered learning process. However, the geographical conditions of SD Negeri 01 Saonek, which is located in an island area, present unique challenges, particularly related to limited access to travel outside the island and unstable communication networks. These limitations have resulted in teachers at the school not receiving adequate training in soft skill development, including communication, classroom management, and self-reflection abilities. To address this need, a socialization and training program based on microteaching was implemented as an effort to enhance teachers’ professional competencies. The microteaching method was chosen because it provides opportunities for direct practice, structured feedback, and simplified yet effective teaching simulations. The training was designed to help teachers understand good teaching techniques, build confidence, and strengthen interpersonal skills in instructional interactions. In addition, the collective feedback sessions offered participants chances to learn from one another and improve their teaching strategies based on peer observations. The results of the activity indicated an improvement in teachers’ ability to design lesson scenarios, manage classrooms, deliver material more clearly, and communicate more effectively with students. Teachers also reported increased motivation and a deeper understanding of the importance of soft skills in supporting their professionalism. Thus, the microteaching training provided new insights into the capacity-building process for teachers at SD Negeri 01 Saonek and served as a relevant solution for island schools facing limited access to conventional training. This program is expected to continue and become a model for empowering teachers in 3T regions to sustainably improve education quality.

Generation Z is recognized as a group that is adaptive to technological developments; however, they still face serious challenges in terms of financial management. Based on the National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2022, the level of financial literacy in South Kalimantan is still far below the national average, at only 42.88% compared to 49.68%. This low level of financial literacy often triggers consumptive behavior and lack of responsibility in financial decision-making. This community service activity aims to enhance comprehensive understanding of financial literacy, build skills in financial management and recording, and foster interest in safe investment through education digitalization. The implementation method includes material delivery through socialization, followed by discussion and question-and-answer sessions, as well as evaluation using Pre-Test and Post-Test instruments. The results of the activity demonstrate an increase in understanding, as reflected by the increase in the average scores from 75,33 in the Pre-Test to 100 in the Post-Test, indicating a 24,67% improvement. Thus, this activity not only enhanced understanding but also fostered awareness of the importance of wise financial management in the face of digital economic challenges.

The Community Service Program (KKN) is a tangible form of student service to the community as an implementation of the three pillars of higher education, namely education, research, and community service. One of the activities carried out during the KKN in Sihuik-huik Village was to socialize the importance of saving from an early age to sixth grade students at MIS Al-Abraar. This activity aimed to instill an understanding of the concept of saving, its benefits, and to train students’ skills through the practice of making piggy banks from used bottles. The implementation methods included delivering material using PowerPoint, showing simple animations, and creative practice in decorating piggy banks. The results of the activity showed a positive response from the students, who were enthusiastic from the beginning to the end of the program. The students not only understood the importance of saving money, but were also motivated to practice it by using the piggy banks they had made themselves. In addition to training creativity and environmental awareness, this activity also instilled the values of discipline, independence, and religious awareness that saving is part of Islamic teachings in managing wealth wisely and avoiding wastefulness. Thus, this socialization activity proved to be effective as a simple financial education medium that shaped positive and beneficial attitudes for the students’ future preparation.

This research was motivated by the findings of dishonest behavior among SMPN 2 Kalidawir students, such as cheating during exams and dishonesty in daily social interactions. This condition shows that the value of honesty has not developed optimally. Therefore, this study aims to analyze social studies teachers' strategies in instilling honesty in grade VIII students and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the process. The focus of the research includes two things: (1) teachers' strategies in instilling honesty through social studies learning, especially materials related to social interaction and students' daily lives; and (2) factors that affect the success of teachers in shaping the character of students' honesty. The approach used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. This method allows researchers to gain an in-depth understanding based on the interpretation of phenomena found in the field. The results of the study show that the strategy of instilling honesty values is carried out in an integrated manner through the example of teachers, habituating honest behavior, and providing positive motivation during the learning process. Teachers also integrate the value of honesty into relevant social studies materials and provide real examples in daily life. Supporting factors for the success of this strategy include consistent teacher examples, a conducive school environment, and targeted and collaborative student program support. However, there are inhibiting factors such as the influence of the environment outside the school, academic pressure, and diverse socioeconomic conditions of students. This research makes an important contribution to strengthening character education through social studies learning at the junior high school level.
