Based on the results of initial interviews and observations, it was found that several students still experienced difficulties in writing procedural texts effectively. These difficulties included a lack of understanding of the structure and characteristics of procedural texts, challenges in expressing ideas in written form, limited ability to compose coherent and communicative sentences, and the use of monotonous learning models that failed to stimulate student motivation. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model based on the Tri N approach (Niteni, Niroke, and Nambahake) to improve the procedural text writing skills of fourth-grade students at Sidomukti Elementary School, Ambal Sub-district, Kebumen Regency, as well as to identify the improvement in writing skills after its application. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the application of the PjBL model integrated with Tri N values significantly improved students’ ability to write procedural texts. The learning process was carried out through six main stages of PjBL: formulating essential questions, planning projects, creating schedules, monitoring student activities, testing results, and evaluating learning experiences. The integration with Tri N principles encouraged students to understand, imitate, and develop their writing skills gradually. Thus, the PjBL model based on Tri N proved effective in helping students overcome writing difficulties while also fostering creativity, independence, and active participation in the learning process.

Film is one of the most effective forms of mass communication for conveying messages to the public. Home Sweet Loan is a film that presents elements of representation reflecting the spirit of a generation in pursuing their dreams. This research aims to identify and understand the various representations of the spirit of pursuing dreams as depicted in the film Home Sweet Loan. Using Roland Barthes semiotic analysis, this study explores the representations by breaking down the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings embedded in the film’s scenes and dialogues as research data. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, documentation, interviews, and literature review. The findings reveal several representations of the spirit of pursuing dreams, which include: (1) a strong desire to own a home despite limitations, (2) financial discipline in managing income and expenses, (3) independence from social standards and expectations, (4) persistence in facing harsh realities of economic and social pressure, and (5) courage to step out from one’s comfort zone and take risks. These elements collectively reflect the struggles of the younger generation, especially urban communities, in achieving personal independence and long-term aspirations. Overall, the study highlights how Home Sweet Loan functions not only as a medium of entertainment but also as a cultural text that conveys values of resilience, financial awareness, and self-determination. The film illustrates that pursuing dreams requires both perseverance and the ability to resist limiting stereotypes, making it relevant to broader discussions on representation in contemporary Indonesian cinema.

This study investigates the metaphorical expressions in the song Golden Hour by JVKE using Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT) by Lakoff and Johnson (1980). The research aims to identify and analyze metaphors that represent emotional experiences, particularly romantic feelings, through the use of concrete and sensory imagery. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the lyrics of Golden Hour were analyzed to uncover how metaphorical language shapes the expression of love and emotional transitions. The findings reveal several dominant metaphor categories such as LOVE IS LIGHT, LOVE IS A JOURNEY, and EMOTION IS ELEVATION. These metaphors transform abstract emotions into vivid, relatable experiences by linking them to concepts like time, nature, and movement. The study concludes that metaphor in song lyrics functions as a cognitive and poetic device that enhances meaning and emotional resonance. The implications of this research highlight the relevance of metaphor analysis in understanding language, thought, and culture, especially in modern musical texts.

This study was motivated by the low ability of seventh grade students at SMP Dharma Karya UT to present descriptive texts orally, which is indicated by their lack of fluency, unclear pronunciation and intonation, and low self-confidence. This condition is aggravated by monotonous learning models that make students feel bored. One alternative to overcome this problem is the application of the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) learning model. This model focuses on the students’ actual ability levels so that the content and learning activities can be adjusted to their readiness to learn. This research used a quantitative method with a Randomized Demonstration Group Posttest Only Design and involved two groups: an experimental class and a control class. The sample consisted of 53 seventh grade students of SMP Dharma Karya UT. The research instrument was a test of oral descriptive text presentation skills. The results show a significant effect of applying the TaRL model on students’ ability to present descriptive texts orally. The experimental class receiving TaRL obtained an average posttest score of 47.8 out of 80, while the control class only scored 34.29 out of 80. The t-test showed tcount (2.45) > ttable (1.66) at a 5% significance level, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. It can therefore be concluded that the application of the TaRL model is more effective than conventional teaching in improving students’ oral presentation skills of descriptive texts.

The background of this research is the students’ low ability to express ideas coherently, meaningfully, and attractively in the form of inspirational stories. The SAVI approach is expected to make the learning process more enjoyable, active, and meaningful by involving various student learning styles. This research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were 32 ninth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and writing skill tests. The data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods to assess the improvement in students’ writing skills. The results of the study indicate that the SAVI approach effectively enhances students’ inspirational story writing skills. In the first cycle, students showed initial improvements, though they had not yet reached the success criteria. After revisions in the second cycle, students' writing skills significantly improved and met the expected indicators. The improvements were evident in aspects such as text structure, language use, and idea development. Therefore, the SAVI approach is effective in teaching inspirational story writing.

The advances in the movie industry have led to the rapid rise of streaming platforms, becoming increasingly popular among people. With countries around the world constantly producing movies, subtitles play an essential role in making films more accessible to a broader audience. Subtitling strategies can be defined as a translation practice involving the display of written text, usually at the bottom of the screen, to convey the original dialogues of the speakers and the information contained in the soundtrack. This study uses data from the lk21 website and analyzes it using Gottlieb’s subtitling strategies theory, which consists of ten specific methods for audiovisual translation: Expansion, Paraphrase, Transfer, Imitation, Transcription, Deletion, Dislocation, Condensation, Decimation, and Resignation. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted in this study with observation, classification, and note-taking of each subtitle, suitable for the research, and describing the subtitling strategies applied in the movie. The findings show that seven strategies were applied in the Indonesian subtitles, namely paraphrase, transfer, condensation, imitation, deletion, dislocation, and expansion. Among them, paraphrase emerged as the most frequently used strategy, likely because figurative or culture-specific expressions in the source text often required adaptation to preserve their meaning for Indonesian viewers. On the other hand, expansion was identified as the least applied strategy, suggesting that the original dialogues rarely demanded additional explanation. Overall, the strategic use of these methods contributed to producing subtitles that were coherent, culturally adapted, and highly accessible to the target audience.

This study aims to describe the form and function of negation elements in the syntactic structure of Chairil Anwar's poetry anthology. The research method is descriptive qualitative with linguistic approach. The data sources are poetry texts by Chairil Anwar consisting of nine titles of Chairil Anwar's poems: Aku, Diponegoro, Karawang-Bekasi, Derai-Derai Cemara, Senja di Pelabuhan Kecil, Cintaku Jauh di Pulau, Hampa, Tak Sepadan and Siap Sedia. The data was collected using the documentation method, namely reading and scrutinizing the poetry texts to identify sentences that contain negation elements. The data found were then recorded and classified based on the form and location of the negation element in the syntactic structure of the sentence. Data analysis was conducted through several stages, namely: 1) identifying negation elements (all word/phrase elements containing negation elements in the poem); 2) classifying negation forms based on their types such as not, not, none, yet or don't; 3) analyzing syntactic structure (how the negation element functions in the syntactic structure, whether in predicate, subject, object or adverb; 4) interpreting the meaning and semantic and stylistic functions of negation elements in the context of the whole poem. To maintain data validity, this research uses theoretical triangulation by referring to various linguistic references (especially syntax and semantics) as well as previous studies on Chairil Anwar's poetry. In addition, data validation is done through cross-checking between readers on the results of identification and analysis. The results show that the element of negation plays a central role in shaping the syntactic structure, meaning and ideological and emotional character of his poetry.

UMKM Tahu XYZ, a small-scale tofu producer, is currently facing significant challenges in maintaining consistent product quality, primarily due to a high defect rate. Common issues identified include crumbled tofu shapes, overly soft textures, and inconsistent taste, which negatively impact customer satisfaction and business sustainability. This study aims to investigate the root causes of these quality issues and propose practical solutions using the Lean Six Sigma methodology. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach through the DMAIC framework—Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control—to ensure systematic problem-solving. Data were collected over a six-month period through direct observation, structured interviews, and review of production records. The analysis identified four dominant types of waste within the production process: unnecessary transportation, product defects, excessive movement, and over-processing. The root causes of these inefficiencies are linked to poor handling of raw materials, variability in soybean quality, and an ineffective production layout that hampers workflow and consistency. To address these problems, the study proposes several targeted interventions, including the redesign of the production layout to optimize flow, the implementation of the 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) workplace organization method, the development of standardized operating procedures (SOPs), and the adoption of improved soybean boiling technology. The implementation of these improvements is projected to significantly reduce product defects, enhance process efficiency, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction. Furthermore, these actions are expected to improve the overall competitiveness of UMKM Tahu XYZ within the highly demanding food industry sector. This research provides actionable insights for other micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) seeking to apply structured quality control methods to strengthen operational performance and long-term business resilience.

This study aims to integrate the Grounded Theory approach with James Spradley’s ethnographic method in hadith studies to understand the contextual meaning of hadiths within the social life of the community. The background of this research lies in the limitations of the classical hadith approach, which tends to focus only on textual aspects (sanad and matn) while lacking exploration of the underlying social and cultural meanings. Using a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, the primary data are sourced from hadith collections such as Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, while the secondary data consist of literature on qualitative methodology, ethnography, and Grounded Theory. Data collection techniques were conducted through library research and analyzed using Spradley’s nine steps of ethnographic analysis, including domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and theme analysis. The results indicate that the integration of these approaches enables the construction of thematic categories from hadiths based on the social experiences of the Muslim community and generates substantive theories relevant to the dynamics of Muslim social life. This approach not only broadens the understanding of hadith texts but also emphasizes the importance of viewing hadiths as social constructions embedded within Islamic culture.

This study analyzes Kompas.com’s news coverage of the Papua conflict and human rights issues during the 2024 Presidential Debate to examine media neutrality through Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) integrated with Teun A. Van Dijk’s model. The analysis covers three dimensions: micro (text), meso (discursive practice), and macro (social practice), using a qualitative descriptive method. Data from 21 news excerpts reveal that social and political contexts are clearly represented, focusing on the strategies of the three presidential candidates in addressing human rights and conflict issues in Papua. The findings highlight the importance of realizing the Papua-related commitments made during the debate by the elected president, given the rising trend of violence and the unresolved justice issues in the region. The study demonstrates that media coverage, even by a leading news outlet such as Kompas.com, carries the potential to influence public perception regarding sensitive political and social issues. At the micro level, the language and lexical choices in the news articles often convey subtle ideological positions, including the framing of human rights violations and conflict events, which may reflect both explicit and implicit biases. At the meso level, discursive practices, including editorial decisions, headline constructions, and sourcing patterns, contribute to the shaping of narratives, highlighting certain aspects of the candidates’ statements while minimizing others. Meanwhile, at the macro level, the broader societal and political context, including historical grievances, regional tensions, and national political dynamics, provides the backdrop against which news coverage is produced and consumed, indicating the complex interplay between

This research is based on the importance of relevant and contextual teaching materials that foster understanding and practice of religious values, particularly in the teaching of voluntary fasting at the elementary school level. In the context of Islamic religious education, voluntary fasting material not only aims to provide knowledge but also to shape students' religious character from an early age. The purpose of this study is to critically examine the suitability of the learning objectives, materials, and teaching methods in the teaching materials with the expected competency achievements in the curriculum. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a document study approach, through content analysis of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education teaching materials for grade VI. Data were collected through documentation techniques and interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the teaching materials generally contain voluntary fasting material in accordance with the applicable curriculum. However, there are still shortcomings in aspects of material depth, relevance to students' daily lives, and the diversity of learning methods used. The materials tend to be textual and do not fully encourage students' emotional involvement or spiritual practices. Furthermore, the emphasis on character building and internalization of religious values in students' lives is not optimal. The conclusions of this study indicate the need to develop more applicable, interactive, and contextual teaching materials to improve students' understanding, religious attitudes, and active involvement in consciously and consistently observing the sunnah fast. As a follow-up to these findings, collaboration between teachers, textbook authors, and curriculum developers is crucial to ensure that teaching materials are not only cognitively appropriate.

This study aims to describe the social transformations found in the literary aspects of the Advanced Indonesian Language Textbook for grade 11 and analyze its relationship to the construction of the Pancasila Student Profile (P5). The main focus of this study is to examine how the literary works presented in the textbook function not only as a medium for language learning but also as a vehicle for character development and social understanding for students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with sociological literary analysis techniques, where data is obtained from excerpts from poetry, short stories, and plays that depict social change. The results indicate that the social transformations reflected in these literary works are divided into two main forms: collective behavior and social movements. Collective behavior is demonstrated through themes of fashion and fashion, urban legends, and the phenomenon of mass hysteria, which implicitly depict social conflict, class inequality, and the dynamics of societal culture. Meanwhile, social movements are depicted in the narratives of characters who fight for change against norms, traditions, and social structures that limit freedom. This representation demonstrates resistance, critical awareness, and a drive towards a more just and equal life. The findings of this study are closely related to the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile, such as critical reasoning skills, a spirit of mutual cooperation, an attitude of upholding social justice, and independence in thought and action. Therefore, it can be concluded that literary works in Indonesian language textbooks not only present aesthetic value and literary appreciation, but also serve as an effective means of instilling national values and supporting the formation of student character in accordance with the vision of Pancasila.

Worm infestation due to Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH) infection remains a public health problem, especially among elementary school children who frequently interact with contaminated soil. This condition is a major concern because it can cause long-term health problems, particularly in terms of physical growth and development of children. This study aims to identify the presence of STH worm eggs and larvae in soil and fecal samples of children in Bekoso Village, Pasir Belengkong District, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan. This study used a descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design. The samples used consisted of 23 soil points taken from oil palm plantations with sandy and loose soil criteria, as well as 16 fecal samples from elementary school children. Fecal examination was carried out using the Kato-Katz method to detect worm eggs, while the soil was examined using the Baermann technique to detect worm larvae. The results showed that 25% of children's fecal samples were infected with worm eggs, with 12.5% containing hookworm eggs, 12.5% Taenia sp. eggs, and 6.25% Ascaris lumbricoides eggs. In soil samples, 60.87% tested positive for Strongyloides stercoralis larvae and 26.09% tested positive for Ascaris lumbricoides eggs. These findings indicate a high risk of STH infection in children in the area. Environmental factors such as soil moisture, soil texture suitable for worm breeding, and poor personal hygiene practices are suspected to be the main causes of the spread of infection. This study emphasizes the importance of education on clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) and improving environmental sanitation to reduce cases of worm infection, especially in endemic areas such as Bekoso Village. More comprehensive prevention efforts are urgently needed to address this problem and improve public health, especially among elementary school children.

The low reading interest and literacy skills of elementary school children in Indonesia remain a problem that requires creative and sustainable solutions. Factors such as limited access to quality books, a lack of reading habits at home, and uninteresting learning approaches are often the causes of a weak literacy culture among students. To address this problem, the Student Community Service Program (KKN) of Sebelas Maret University students in Singodutan Village implemented an activity aimed at fostering a culture of literacy in children through a Reading Book Content-Based Project at SDN 3 Krisak. The concept of this activity integrates reading activities with the creation of creative projects that are appropriate to the content of the reading, so that students not only understand the text but are also able to process the information into real products. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type to understand students' experiences during the activity. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and literature review, which were then analyzed descriptively. Activities included selecting reading books appropriate to students' ability levels, shared reading, discussions about the reading content, and the creation of creative projects such as posters, picture stories, or artwork inspired by the reading material. The results of the activity showed an increase in student participation in reading activities, an increase in interest in books, and an improvement in their ability to process information into creative works. Furthermore, students demonstrated greater self-confidence when presenting their work to their classmates.
