The development of modern Muslim fashion has significantly transformed the way Muslims express their identity, especially in Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population. However, the growing popularity of “modest wear” fashion does not always align with Islamic principles as taught in the Hadiths. This study aims to explore the Islamic dress code based on thematic Hadith analysis (maudhū’ī), identify core dressing principles in Islam, and evaluate their implementation within the modern Muslim fashion culture. This research applies a qualitative method through library research, employing the thematic approach to collect and analyze Prophetic traditions related to clothing. The findings reveal that Islamic principles of dress include covering the ‘awrah (private parts), avoiding excessive adornment (tabarruj), refraining from imitating the opposite gender or non-Muslim cultures, and upholding modesty and dignity. These hadiths offer ethical guidance that is not only normative but also practical in the modern socio-cultural context. The study concludes that modern Muslim fashion can serve as an effective medium for visual da'wah if it remains aligned with Hadith-based values. The synergy between religious principles and creative design can form a relevant and dignified Islamic lifestyle rooted in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad saw.

Southeast Asia has long held a strategic position in global maritime trade since the pre-Islamic era. Through interactions with Arab, Persian, and Indian merchants, Islam was introduced to the region not through military conquest, but via peaceful and cultural means, particularly through trade and Sufi missionary activities. The Islamization process unfolded gradually, beginning in major port cities such as Samudera Pasai, Malacca, and Gresik, with significant support from local elites. This study employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach using library research methods, drawing from historical records, Malay Islamic manuscripts, and recent academic studies. The findings reveal that Islamic civilization in Southeast Asia manifested in the form of Islamic sultanates, traditional Islamic educational institutions (pesantren and pondok), and rich cultural expressions such as arts, literature, and architecture shaped by local aesthetics. This acculturation process gave rise to a moderate, inclusive, and adaptive form of Islam. In the modern era, Islam in this region continues to evolve in response to global challenges through institutional innovation and the contextualization of Islamic values. Therefore, Islam in Southeast Asia is not merely a religious system, but a civilizational force that shapes a distinctive and sustainable regional identity.

This study examines how Javanese culture is represented in the tingkeban ceremony of the second child of celebrity couple Lesti Kejora and Rizky Billar, using a critical discourse analysis approach influenced by the post-structuralist theory of Michel Foucault. The tingkeban tradition, originally a private ritual, has been reconstructed into digital entertainment, focusing on aesthetics, religious narratives, and the ideal image of motherhood. By applying Foucault’s concepts of discourse, power, and subject formation, this article reveals how cultural meanings, gender roles, and celebrity identities are formulated through discursive mechanisms on social media platforms. The findings indicate that the event is not merely a means of cultural preservation, but also a symbolic exercise of power that reinforces social norms and preferred identities, particularly those aligned with the middle-class values. In this context, tradition becomes a contested site for the construction and negotiation of meaning in contemporary discourse.

The entry of Islam into the archipelago is a historical process that takes place peacefully and culturally. The role of scholars is the main key in disseminating Islamic teachings through trade, educational, and socio-cultural approaches. Not only preaching, the scholars also mingle with the local community through marriage and the establishment of educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools. A persuasive and accommodating da'wah strategy for local culture is the main factor in the success of Islamization in various regions. In addition to religious aspects, Islam also has influence in the field of politics and government, both in the application of sharia values, morals, and the formation of Islamic political organizations. Through the study of literature and historical sources, this study shows that the process of spreading Islam in the archipelago is not forceful, but through the harmonious integration of values and culture.

Participative leadership in dakwah institutions offers clear benefits. Literature indicates this style improves decision quality and spurs innovation, as members with relevant knowledge contribute creative solutions. It fosters an inclusive culture where stakeholders feel valued, responsible, and committed to collective decisions. Organizational effectiveness and efficiency rise with increased participation and member engagement. However, full implementation encounters practical challenges. In dakwah organizations with hierarchical traditions, resistance to power-sharing and trust deficits can cause conflict and decision delays. Limited leadership capacity and communication skills among members become obstacles if leaders are untrained in participative methods. Organizational theory thus recommends adaptive strategies: leaders should establish effective communication channels, empower teams, and implement context-specific leadership training programs. Case studies suggest these measures build a sustainable collaborative culture that supports innovation in dakwah programs. In summary, participative leadership, when combined with appropriate training and a supportive culture, can enhance effectiveness, foster creativity, and ensure organizational sustainability in religious outreach.

This study aims to examine the influence of transcendental communication on the practice of the tahlilan tradition among the congregation of Nurul Huda Mosque in Bandar Lampung. Transcendental communication, defined as spiritual interaction between individuals and the divine, is seen as a key factor in shaping religious behavior and sustaining traditional religious rituals within the community. The research employs a quantitative approach using survey methods with 60 respondents selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that had passed validity and reliability tests, and analyzed using linear regression through IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results indicate that transcendental communication significantly influences the tahlilan tradition, with a significance value of 0.004 (< 0.05) and a positive regression coefficient of 0.350. These findings suggest that the stronger the transcendental communication experienced by individuals, the greater their belief in and participation in the tahlilan tradition. Furthermore, the study confirms that the research data meet the classical assumptions of normality and homoscedasticity. In conclusion, transcendental communication plays a substantial role in reinforcing collective religious traditions and spiritual continuity within local Muslim communities. This research contributes to a broader understanding of how spiritual dimensions influence the preservation of Islamic cultural-religious practices in a contemporary setting.
