This article explores the dimensions of spiritualism and existential feminism in the short story Umi Kalsum by Djamil Suherman using a qualitative descriptive approach combined. The study focuses on interpreting symbolic and ideological elements within the text that reflect the search for life’s meaning, spiritual awareness, and the position of women within a patriarchal social structure. Data were obtained through literature review and analyzed in depth through the processes of data reduction, presentation, and interpretive reflection, with validity ensured through source triangulation and repeated readings. The findings reveal that the character Umi Kalsum represents a devout woman who lives under strict social norms, yet possesses strong spiritual and inner resilience. Spiritual values are reflected in her submissive and sincere acceptance of suffering, while existential feminism is expressed through her inner conflict and struggle for personal freedom. The protagonist’s tragic end serves as a symbolic protest against the restrictive social order imposed on women. This short story illustrates how spiritual experience and existential awareness can act as liberating forces in the face of gender-based injustice.

Namely, 42% of frauds are detected by complaints (tips). Research comparing theory and empirical evidence on private entities in Indonesia is quite minimal. This research aims to prove the influence of an ethical code on the risk of asset misappropriation through whistleblowing intentions. The population of this study are employees of medium-scale entities in Jabodetabek and East Java. The sampling method used is purposive. The sample for this research is companies located in Jabodetabek and East Java with employees ranging from 70 to 150 people. This research uses primary data, namely a questionnaire. The researcher tested the validity and reliability of the data through a pilot test. If these two conditions are already met, the data then being analyzed further using path analysis. The data must also meet classical assumptions and linearity testing in path analysis testing. The researcher tested the direct influences using Ordinary Least Square. Meanwhile, the Sobel Test was used to test the indirect influence of the research variables. The Sobel Test results show that whistleblowing intention is proven to mediate the influence of the ethical code on the risk of asset misappropriation. The mediating effect of whistleblowing intention is partial. Whistleblowing intention as a mediator variable has been proven in this research, in line with various previous studies. Because it is proven to mediate partially, the novelty in this research is apart from being a mediator variable, whistleblowing intentions can also be an independent variable, with the risk of asset misappropriation as the dependent variable.

Technological advancements in the financial sector have led to various innovations, one of which is the SPayLater service, which allows consumers to make purchases using a deferred payment or installment system. In practice, this system raises various questions regarding the validity of transactions from the perspective of Islamic Economic Law, particularly in terms of compliance with the principles of sale and purchase contracts, as well as the potential presence of riba (usury) and gharar (uncertainty). This study aims to examine the validity of SPayLater transactions by analyzing the contracts used, potential violations of the principles of murabahah, ijarah, or qardh, and the extent to which this service complies with the conditions and pillars of sharia-compliant sale and purchase. The approach used is qualitative, analyzing Islamic legal literature, fatwas issued by Indonesia’s National Sharia Council (DSN-MUI), as well as case studies of SPayLater services in Indonesia. The findings indicate that SPayLater transactions have the potential to involve riba if there are non-transparent additional charges. Furthermore, late payment penalties and unclear contracts may give rise to gharar, which could render the transaction invalid under Islamic law. Therefore, it is necessary to modify the contracts to better align with sharia principles and to enhance transparency in the payment mechanisms in order to avoid elements of riba and gharar.

This article examines the shift in local government authority over mineral and coal mining management following the enactment of Law Number 23 of 2014 on Regional Government. The transfer of authority from regency/city governments to provincial and central governments has created normative disharmony between the Regional Government Law and the Mining Law, resulting in legal uncertainty at the implementation level. Using a normative juridical approach and Hans Kelsen’s theory of the hierarchy of norms, this article analyzes the legal validity of the transfer and identifies structural conflicts within the legal system. The findings indicate that the current regulation lacks both hierarchical consistency and functional clarity. Therefore, a reconstruction of the legal framework for mining governance is required to balance the principle of legality with the concept of regional autonomy. A model of limited delegation, sectoral regulatory harmonization, and the application of multilevel governance are proposed as key recommendations to ensure a fair, effective, and constitutional relationship between central and local governments.

Economic concepts are often considered abstract and difficult to understand by high school students. The lack of connection between the subject matter and the reality of everyday life is one of the factors causing low student interest in learning in this field. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the "home economics" learning approach in improving students' understanding of the economic system. The study was conducted at SMAN 12 Medan using a quantitative method with a questionnaire instrument that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that this approach was able to explain 59.2% of the variation in students' understanding of economics. This study suggests that teachers use contextual learning models to improve the effectiveness of the economics learning process.

The persistence of educational inequality in Indonesia remains evident today. This situation parallels the depiction in Andrea Hirata’s 2005 novel Laskar Pelangi, indicating that the social critique offered by the work has yet to effect widespread change. This study uses a sociological-literary approach to analyze representations of educational inequity in Indonesia as portrayed in Laskar Pelangi. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method, treating novel excerpts as primary and reports as secondary data. Thematic analysis is applied, and data validity is ensured through triangulation within a cross-sectional timeframe. Based on eight data points presented in the results table, the discussion details how the novel illustrates disparities in educational access across six dimensions: infrastructure, teacher availability, facility provision, student distribution, assessment processes, and talent development. These findings reveal the social function of literature as a form of social criticism that can raise public awareness and inform policy initiatives aimed at achieving more equitable education in Indonesia.

This study aims to examine the extent to which students' abilities are in understanding mathematical concepts in depth, connecting them, and applying them in various life contexts. Improving mathematical understanding is considered to have a significant influence on the world of education. This is reflected in three main aspects: improving learning outcomes, strengthening critical thinking skills, and readiness to face global challenges in the 21st century. Students' learning styles are one of the important factors that influence mathematical understanding. Learning styles can be divided into three, namely visual (relying on sight), auditory (through hearing), and kinesthetic (through physical activity). Each individual generally has all three styles, but one of them will be more dominant. Students' ability to recognize and adjust their learning styles with appropriate learning strategies contributes to their success in understanding the material. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational survey technique. The research sample consisted of 30 grade XI students of SMK Ristek Jaya Jakarta. Data analysis was carried out through several stages, including the validity and reliability of learning style instruments and descriptive and inferential statistical tests such as regression and normality. The results of the analysis showed that the scientific approach had a significant influence on students' mathematical understanding, with a determination coefficient of 70.39%. This means that this approach contributes greatly to improving mathematical understanding based on students' learning styles. This study suggests further studies to deepen understanding of this phenomenon and make it a reference in learning practices.
