JUREKSI (Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance) 2025 STIKes Ibnu Sina Ajibarang

In many developing countries today, the capitalist economic system still dominates. Not infrequently, this system causes various problems when applied in the governance of a country's economy. These problems generally arise because policies, regulations, and public financial management have not been directed at the principles of Islamic economics (sharia). In fact, the public economic system based on sharia provides guarantees for the fulfillment of state needs (income) and people's needs (expenditure). In addition, the rampant practice of misappropriation such as fraud and corruption has also caused the loss of public trust in public economic management. This condition contributes to the economic crisis and exacerbates the suffering of the people. Therefore, to solve these problems, the government needs to adopt a public economic concept based on Islamic values, because this system has been proven to be able to encourage justice and improve social welfare. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The findings in the study indicate that there are various sources of income in the Islamic economy that can be utilized as public finances, such as Ghanimah, Fa'i, Jizyah, Kharaj, Waqf, Nawaib, Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and 'Usr. Meanwhile, state expenditure is allocated to fulfill basic community needs, state defense and administration, education, social security, and development of infrastructure and public facilities.   Keywords: Capitalism, Economic system, Public sector In many developing countries today, the capitalist economic system still dominates. This article explores the relationship between the theology of Christian Religious Education (CRE) and the Church in contributing to relevant, contextual, and transformative theological education. The Church, as a community of faith and spiritual institution, plays a strategic role in shaping theological understanding through teaching, discipleship, and ministry. Meanwhile, CRE within the formal education system is tasked with delivering Christian values through pedagogical and academic approaches. In an era shaped by secularism, pluralism, and technological advancement, both challenges and opportunities arise for CRE and the Church to collaborate meaningfully. Through literature review and theological analysis, this article identifies key challenges such as the gap between theory and practice, limited human resources, and the influence of popular culture that often contradicts Christian values. On the other hand, significant opportunities exist, including the use of digital technology, the strengthening of faith-based character education, and the implementation of contextual approaches to theological teaching. The article affirms the importance of a strategic partnership between the Church and CRE in developing theological education that not only informs the mind but also transforms lives through strong Christian character in everyday contexts.

This study aims to describe and analyze the strategies implemented by the Environmental Agency (DLH) of Karimun Regency in managing waste and to evaluate the effectiveness of these implementations in the field. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews. Findings reveal that DLH Karimun has developed and executed key strategies, including the formulation of the Regional Waste Management Master Plan (RIPSD), optimization of Temporary Waste Disposal Sites (TPS) with 3R principles, active collaboration with waste banks and community groups, and community-based education and socialization efforts. However, operational challenges persist, particularly in waste transportation fleet distribution, handling of the Sememal Final Disposal Site (TPA), and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms that remain suboptimal. Additional challenges include limited human resources and funding, low public awareness, and regulatory conflicts impacting strategic decision-making. Nevertheless, the strategies implemented have contributed to improvements in environmental cleanliness across several sub-districts and increased volumes of processed waste through recycling initiatives. Community involvement through schools, youth organizations, family welfare groups, mutual cooperation activities, and waste banks proved critical to success. The study recommends the adoption of digital-based waste management systems (smart waste management), capacity building for DLH personnel, community empowerment, and revision of local regulations to support sustainable waste management. This will enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of DLH Karimun’s waste management strategies moving forward. The findings provide valuable insights for policy formulation and practical implementation in similar regional contexts.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the endemic diseases that is still a public health challenge in Indonesia. Although the government has launched various programs, such as 3M Plus and fogging, the number of DHF cases still shows significant variations each year. This study aims to evaluate the community's contribution to controlling DHF by emphasizing the extent to which awareness is applied in real action. The method used is a literature study of 30 scientific articles on DHF published between 2015 and 2024. The results of the analysis show that although adolescents' knowledge of DHF is quite good, the implementation of preventive measures such as cleaning the environment, draining water reservoirs, and eradicating mosquito nests has not been carried out consistently. Several inhibiting factors include low community participation, lack of environmental supervision, and limited support from local governments. Therefore, a more comprehensive approach is needed, including ongoing education, strengthening the role of health cadres, and community-based supervision to increase the effectiveness of DHF control efforts.

The rejection of isbat nikah applications in religious court practice, particularly in the context of polygamy, is a complex issue with far-reaching implications for the legal status of marriage, the rights of wives and children, and legal certainty. This study aims to analyze the legal considerations of the panel of judges in rejecting the application for isbat nikah polygamy at the Kwandang Religious Court and to examine the legal consequences arising from the rejection. This research uses an empirical juridical method with a case approach, which is analyzed based on primary data in the form of court decisions and interviews with judges and related parties, and secondary data in the form of legal literature, legislation, and relevant legal journals. The results show that the rejection of polygamous marriage isbat nikah applications is generally caused by the non-fulfillment of substantive requirements as stipulated in Pasal 4 and 5 of Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 1974 concerning Marriage jo. Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), such as the absence of permission from the first wife or the lack of proof of the reasons that allow polygamy. The legal consequences of this rejection include the formal non-recognition of the legal status of the second marriage, which has an impact on the non-fulfillment of the civil rights of the second wife and the children born, such as inheritance rights and citizenship status. This study recommends the need to strengthen legal education to the community as well as harmonization between state law and religious law to ensure the legal protection of women and children in the context of polygamy.

Rice is a primary commodity in Indonesia's agricultural sector, playing a strategic role in national food security. However, rice productivity in Jombok Village, Ngantang District, Malang Regency, has declined due to an infestation of rats (Rattus argentiventer). The uncontrolled rat population has caused damage to crops from the vegetative to the generative stages, resulting in a decrease in harvest yields. The limited understanding among farmers about effective pest control strategies has worsened the situation. The community service aims to enhance farmers' knowledge and skills in controlling rat pests through an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach. The methods used include socialization, counseling, field training, and the evaluation of pest control techniques involving mechanical, biological, and chemical methods. Evaluation results showed that farmers' understanding improved from 40% to 85% after the training. Furthermore, after one month, the rat population decreased by 40%. These findings suggest that education and hands-on practice contribute to the effectiveness of pest control and increased rice productivity. Therefore, a farmer empowerment-based approach should continue to be implemented to support the sustainability of agriculture in agrarian regions.

Handwashing with soap (HWWS) is one of the simplest, most effective, and cost-efficient behaviors for preventing infectious diseases. However, its practice remains suboptimal at the household level in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze HWWS behavior using community questionnaire data as a basis for developing health promotion strategies through the Problem Solving Cycle (PSC) approach. This descriptive quantitative study was conducted among 50 respondents using a closed-ended questionnaire covering the knowledge, attitude, and practice dimensions of HWWS. The results showed that although respondents had high awareness and positive attitudes toward HWWS, their practices remained inconsistent due to habitual and infrastructural barriers. These findings highlight the need for integrated interventions combining direct education, social media campaigns, and improved access to handwashing facilities. This study contributes to evidence-based, participatory, and contextually adapted health promotion strategies aimed at achieving sustainable behavioral change.

Dyslipidemia is one of the most common metabolic disorders among the productive-age population and plays a major role in increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease and stroke. This condition often remains asymptomatic in its early stages, making regular monitoring of cholesterol and HDL levels a critical step in the early detection of atherosclerosis risk. Community-based screening programs revealed that 42.25% of participants had elevated total cholesterol levels, while 26.76% had very low HDL levels and 43.66% had low HDL levels. These findings highlight the urgency of early detection of dyslipidemia to prevent long-term complications that may impair individual quality of life. Through timely interventions involving nutritional education, dietary modifications, and increased physical activity, blood lipid levels can be effectively managed to prevent the progression of cardiometabolic disease and support long-term heart health.

Christian education, which is based on the teachings of the Christian religion, has an important role in forming individual character and morals. This education system aims to instill Christian moral and ethical values in students as a guide throughout their lives. However, in the modern era which is full of dynamics and change, Christian education faces big challenges in overcoming moral decline in society. Technological developments, cultural changes, and greater access to information create an increasingly complex moral landscape. Thus, Christian education has a key role in shaping individual character and morals and providing a solid ethical foundation, although there are a series of challenges that hinder its effectiveness. This research explores how Christian ethical principles guide interactions within families and communities, as well as their role in facing moral challenges in the modern era. The family is the main center in the formation of individuals and society, where values and ethics are practiced and passed from one generation to the next. This study emphasizes the importance of respecting parents as a spiritual basis that shapes the character and morality of Christian families. Generations, born in the digital era, are faced with various moral and ethical challenges. Christian education in the family environment can provide a strong moral foundation to face the pressures and temptations around them. Character is not a fixed trait, but rather the result of various influences in a person's life. Christian education provides a deep spiritual dimension, teaching ethical values, compassion, and commitment.

This study aims to analyze the challenges in implementing e-Samsat as a form of digitalization of motor vehicle tax services in Jakarta. E-Samsat is an information technology-based public service innovation designed to simplify the online tax payment process, improve the efficiency of public services, and support local government transparency and accountability. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study, which examines various sources such as scientific journals, policy reports, and related articles. The results show that challenges in implementing e-Samsat can be categorized into internal and external challenges. Internal challenges include limited technological infrastructure, weak system integration between agencies, dependence on one bank partner, and concerns over data security. Meanwhile, external challenges include the low digital literacy of the community, the lack of government socialization, and the tendency of the community to continue using conventional methods or intermediary services. This research confirms that the successful implementation of an online tax system depends not only on technological readiness, but also on the government's active role in building digital education and strengthening cross-sector collaboration. An adaptive and participatory policy approach is needed so that this program can embrace all levels of society, especially groups that are not familiar with online taxation.
