Background: Osteoathritis is a degenerative disease that is usually experienced by individuals due to the aging process. Osteoarthritis can limit and affect a person's activities. There is evidence that muscle dysfunction is involved in the pathogenesis of knee OA. The lower leg muscles are the natural support of the knee joint and improper alignment of the knee can originate proximally, and that poor force production due to muscle weakness can be a factor that ultimately causes stress on the knee. Muscles play a major role in joint structure and function, as demonstrated by the disuse of the quadriceps femoris muscle that accompanies knee joint pain. Quadriceps muscle weakness has been noted by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as a risk factor for structural damage to the knee joint. Muscle weakness affects the anteroposterior stability of the knee joint. and makes patients feel unstable, causing decreased self-confidence and decreased performance and independence in daily activities, causing disability and dysfunction in osteoarthritis knee patients. The main symptom that arises from Osteoarthritis is pain. Pain is the main problem in sufferers of knee osteoarthritis, and is generally related to activity and will recover when resting. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Open Kinetic Chain Exercise intervention on the recovery of patients with osteoarthritis. Method: This research uses a case report study with the aim of knowing the treatment of individuals before and after being given the intervention. Results: Providing TENS intervention and open kinetic chain exercises 4x, results in reduced pain intensity, increased joint range of motion and increased functional ability. Conclusion: Providing intervention in the form of TENS and Open Kinetic Chain Exercise has proven to be effective in reducing pain, increasing LGS and increasing functional activity in conditions of Osteoarthritis Knee.

Tongue tie cases at the Columbia Asia Surgical Hospital in Semarang in the last two years have experienced an increase, where in 2021 there were 438 cases and in 2022 there were 447 cases. Tongue tie babies have a poor breastfeeding mechanism, this is caused by limited tongue movement, so tongue tie babies cannot attach properly when breastfeeding. These conditions result in the maximum intake of breast milk not being obtained and the mother feeling uncomfortable due to sore nipples which can cause premature cessation of breastfeeding. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of frenectomy in tongue tie babies with breastfeeding ability. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were tongue-tie babies without complications who were still being hospitalized at the Columbia Asia Surgical Hospital in Semarang. Using a purposive sampling technique, a sample of 30 babies was obtained. The instruments used in this study were LATCH and ATLFF scores. Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results of the study showed that the Frenectomy procedure was effective in increasing the ability to suckle in tongue tie babies, the Wilcoxon test results were obtained (pvalue 0.000 <0.05), where all (100%) tongue tie babies experienced an increase in the ability to suckle after a frenectomy. The action of a frenectomy is effective in increasing the ability to suckle, this can be due to the fact that with a frenectomy the mobility of the tongue increases, so that the baby can latch on properly, can swallow milk well, the mother feels comfortable while breastfeeding because the nipples are not painful.

Background: Health is something that is very important for human life. Health and lifestyle are influenced by developments over time. One example is the lack of consumption of foods with fiber to meet daily needs, which causes health problems, namely appendicitis. Appendicitis is a common cause of acute inflammation of the right lower quadrant of the abdominal cavity, which is treated by emergency abdominal surgery. The inflammatory process that occurs in the appendix increases intraluminal pressure which causes the pain to become more severe, generalized or periumbilical and move to the right lower quadrant. One way to deal with pain is by applying the effleurage technique (massage/touch therapy). The aim of this case study is to determine the reduction in pain scale in post-appendectomy patients after effleurage technique therapy (massage/touch therapy). The method used in this case study is case study design with a nursing care process approach. The subjects in this case study were 2 patients, who were obtained from inclusion and exclusion criteria, data collection using the numeric rating scale (NRS). The results of the case study show that the average pain level of the two patients after being given effleurage technique therapy intervention (massage/touch therapy) for 3 days experienced a change from moderate pain to mild pain. The conclusion of this case study shows that there were changes that occurred after the effleurage technique (massage/touch therapy) was given to the 2 patients and they experienced a decrease in the pain scale.
