AL-MUSTAQBAL: Jurnal Agama Islam 2025 STIKes Ibnu Sina Ajibarang

This research aims to analyze the representation of mental disabilities and the concept of justice in the film Miracle in Cell No. 7 from a gender studies perspective. The film features a main character with intellectual disabilities who is a victim of an uninclusive and patriarchal legal system. The representation of disability in the film shows a combination of empathy and infantile stereotypes that place people with disabilities as objects of pity without agency. Through Stuart Hall's representation theory approach and Crenshaw's intersectionality framework, this research reveals how class identity, gender, and disability shape the main character's subordinate position. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach, where data is analyzed based on symbols, narratives, and cinematic elements in the film. The results show that the film uses emotional strategies to build closeness with the audience, but risks reproducing structural biases against vulnerable groups. Nonetheless, the film still has potential as a medium for social criticism of legal injustice and representational bias in popular culture. This research recommends the need for a more inclusive and humane cinematic approach in depicting people with disabilities and gender inequality.

The development of digital technology has brought various innovations to the financial system, one of which is sharia crowdfunding. As a form of technology-based fundraising based on sharia principles, this mechanism aims to avoid elements of usury, gharar, and maysir which are prohibited in Islam. This article discusses the legal aspects and operational mechanisms of sharia crowdfunding from the perspective of Islamic law and regulations in Indonesia. By using a qualitative research method based on literature analysis, sharia crowdfunding has a strong legal basis through the fatwa of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) and the regulations of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). In practice, sharia crowdfunding uses various contracts such as mudharabah, musyarakah, and wakalah bil ujrah to ensure fair and transparent transactions. Although it has promising prospects, challenges such as lack of sharia financial literacy, limited specific regulations, and digital security aspects are still major obstacles in its implementation. Therefore, collaboration between regulators, industry players, and the community is needed to encourage a more inclusive and sustainable sharia crowdfunding ecosystem.

This study aims to examine the effect of interaction frequency among 2023 cohort Sharia Accounting students on the effectiveness of online learning. The research was motivated by the increasing implementation of online classes, especially during lecturer absences or national holidays. A quantitative approach was applied through a questionnaire distributed to students. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, and One Way ANOVA tests. The results indicate that although students showed a reasonable frequency of interaction, there was no significant effect on learning effectiveness. This suggests that interaction alone may not be the key factor in successful online learning. Other elements such as motivation, teaching methods, and learning environment may also play an important role. The study recommends that students engage more consistently in class and that lecturers develop more engaging and interactive online learning strategies.

Layur Mosque is one of the historic mosques in Semarang City that holds high architectural and cultural value. Built in the 18th century by the Arab community in the Pekojan area, this mosque has undergone various physical changes that reflect the dynamics of its social, cultural, and environmental surroundings. This study aims to examine the development of the Layur Mosque's architectural form over time through a qualitative descriptive approach. Data was collected through direct observation, literature review, and interviews with community leaders and mosque administrators. The findings reveal that the changes in the mosque's architectural form can be divided into several phases, starting from its initial tropical-style design with Middle Eastern influences, to modern renovations that retain distinctive elements such as the minaret and overlapping roof. These changes were not only driven by functional needs but also influenced by the cultural and social development of the local community. This paper explores the role of Green Sukuk in advancing sustainable development in Indonesia, with a focus on its alignment with Islamic law and the principles of maqashid al-shariah. The research aims to examine the impact of Green Sukuk as a financial instrument in supporting environmentally friendly projects such as renewable energy, waste management, and green transportation. Using a qualitative approach, the study analyzes the legal, economic, and ethical dimensions of Green Sukuk, as well as its contributions to social justice and environmental sustainability. The findings reveal that Green Sukuk not only fulfills Islamic financial principles by being free from haram elements like riba, gharar, and maisir, but also serves as an instrument for equitable development by directing funds to sustainable projects that benefit society and the environment. However, the study identifies challenges such as limited private sector involvement, lack of in-depth project evaluation, and insufficient public awareness. The research suggests that future studies should focus on evaluating the effectiveness of Green Sukuk projects on the ground, conduct international comparisons to identify best practices, and enhance the role of the private sector and public engagement in expanding the scope of Green Sukuk. Ultimately, this paper contributes to the growing discourse on Islamic finance and sustainability, demonstrating that Green Sukuk is not only a financial tool but also a medium for social and environmental responsibility in line with Islamic teachings.

This study aims to compare two main theories in modern cosmology, namely the Big Bang Theory and the Steady State Theory, using a descriptive cosmographic approach. This study is motivated by the lack of deep understanding as well as the limited Indonesian literature discussing the fundamental differences between the two theories. By employing a qualitative method through literature review, this research examines the characteristics, advantages, and limitations of each theory based on the latest scientific evidence and cosmographic perspectives. The analysis results show that the Big Bang Theory has strong support from observational evidence, such as cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB), galaxy redshift, and the distribution of light elements, which reinforces the narrative of the expansion and evolution of the universe. In contrast, the Steady State Theory is considered less relevant due to the absence of observational evidence for the creation of new matter and its inability to explain structure and the dynamics of the universe that are currently observed.

This study explores how social identity is constructed and represented in the promotion of traditional tuak drinking culture through the social media content of Atlas Medan, a modern lapo tuak café. Utilizing Social Identity Theory, this research investigates how cultural symbols and regional slang—particularly from Batak and Medan cultures—are employed to reinforce a local identity while appealing to a young demographic (ages 20–40). Using semiotic analysis on 50 selected Instagram posts, this study decodes how Atlas Medan merges traditional and modern elements to craft a compelling digital presence. The findings indicate that the strategic use of Batak songs, Medan slang, and community-oriented visuals fosters a sense of belonging among viewers, effectively branding the café as a hub of local cultural pride. This research contributes to a broader understanding of local identity-based branding and the role of digital media in preserving yet reinterpreting traditional cultural elements in urban settings.

This research explores how figurative language shapes the depth of emotion and psychology in the poem Mirror by Sylvia Plath. Through a qualitative method with a literature study approach, this research aims to identify the types of figures of speech used and explain how these elements convey the lyricist's inner conflicts related to identity, aging, and self-perception. The analysis shows that Plath consciously uses personification, metaphor, simile, and symbolism to build a reflective and emotionally charged atmosphere. The mirror in this poem is not just an inanimate object, but is present as a conscious observer who speaks, judges, and becomes a silent witness to the aging process and identity crisis of the female character. Through metaphorical and symbolic imagery, the mirror transforms into an inner lake-space that reflects the search for self. The poem closes with an evocative simile, describing the deep fear of realizing one's fading youth. This study shows that Plath's use of similes is not only to embellish the poem, but as an important channel to express fears and emotional vulnerabilities that are often difficult to verbalize. The findings are expected to enrich literary discussions on how poetic language can reveal the complexity of human experience with clarity and intensity.

This study analyzes Red Bull advertisements as a form of visual propaganda that effectively constructs a brand image associated with extreme sports, bravery, and extraordinary achievement. The background of this research lies in the phenomenon of the increasing prevalence of visual content in modern marketing strategies, which not only sell products but also embed ideologies and social identities. Red Bull was selected as the object of study due to its consistent use of visual elements rich in symbolic and connotative meaning. This research employs a qualitative approach using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method, along with theories of visual propaganda and social identity. The findings reveal that Red Bull communicates its message not merely through images and slogans, but also through the construction of deep connotative meanings. The slogan “Red Bull Gives You Wings” instills a sense of hope in surpassing one's limits, while the use of extreme sports figures as testimonials reinforces the product's image as a symbol of high performance. These advertisements create a modern myth in which Red Bull is associated with courage and freedom, transforming it from a mere energy drink into a lifestyle identity. In the context of social identity, consumers are not only purchasing a product but also affirming themselves as members of an adventurous, active, and daring community. Thus, Red Bull successfully builds brand loyalty through a strong and symbolic visual narrative. This research emphasizes that today’s advertisements are inseparable from ideological functions and the social constructions they visually shape.

From an Islamic perspective, the values of tolerance, dialogue, and justice are important foundations in building a harmonious society. This research found that the integration of moderate Islamic values into the curriculum and campus activities can strengthen efforts to prevent radicalism. Radicalism on campus is a phenomenon that needs to be watched out for because it can threaten the values of tolerance, diversity, and national unity. Critical education not only provides space for students to think analytically and reflectively, but also equips them with social awareness. Building a campus free from radicalism is not only the responsibility of educational institutions, but also requires the active involvement of all campus elements, through strong collaboration between students, lecturers, as well as strengthening the values of moderation and inclusivity.

This study aims to examine the ethical and moral considerations of judges in imposing verdicts against perpetrators of the crime of child intercourse, as reflected in Decision Number 147/Pid.Sus/2023/PN Kpg. This case is complex because the perpetrator and the victim are both still classified as minors and sexual relations occurred on the basis of consensual, but are still qualified as criminal acts based on positive Indonesian law. The main focus of this study is how judges balance protection for victims with justice for perpetrators who are also still in their childhood, as well as the extent to which the principle of restorative justice is applied in the verdict. This study uses an empirical juridical method with a qualitative approach, which relies on document studies, interviews, and analysis of court decisions. The theories used in the analysis are the theories of restorative justice, substantive justice, and child protection in the criminal justice system. The results of the study showed that the judge imposed criminal punishment on the perpetrator even though there were elements of agreement and the status of the perpetrator who was still a child. The judge's main consideration is the legal protection of children as absolute victims. However, judges do not optimally consider the approach to coaching and restorative justice as regulated in the juvenile justice system. The victim's family's refusal to mediate was also a factor that strengthened the criminal verdict. On the other hand, there is an inequality in the application of the principle of fairness, because the perpetrator is not fully positioned as a child who also needs protection and coaching.
