The presence of Generation Z, who grew up entirely in the digital era, has triggered a fundamental transformation in Muslim religious practices, where social media has replaced conventional religious institutions as the primary source of religious information. This condition creates a paradox: Gen Z has become a generation that is highly religious online, yet is often disconnected from physical communities and traditional religious authorities. This study aims to analyze the character of Muslim Gen Z religiosity, identify its forming factors, and examine the impact of the digital era on their religiosity. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method. The findings indicate that Muslim Gen Z religiosity is characterized by personalization, flexibility, and digital spirituality, strongly influenced by social media. These characteristics are shaped by massive digital technology accessibility, the effectiveness of contextual Islamic preaching on platforms such as TikTok, as well as spiritual needs and social pressure from the digital environment. The digital era brings positive impacts in the form of increased accessibility and religious literacy, but also negative impacts including shallow religious understanding, vulnerability to information bias, and potential exposure to extreme ideologies. This study implies the importance of an integrated digital religious literacy strategy through critical thinking-based Islamic Religious Education curriculum reform, enhancement of educators' digital capacity, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen Gen Z's moderate and reflective religious understanding.

Picky eating behavior is a common feeding problem among preschool-aged children. Children who exhibit picky eating tendencies often reject various types of food, especially new or unfamiliar ones, placing them at risk of an imbalanced intake of macronutrients such as energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Inadequate nutritional intake over the long term may negatively impact a child's nutritional status and growth. This study aims to examine the relationship between picky eating behavior and the adequacy of macronutrient intake including energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates and nutritional status among preschool children at Lab School 1 Kindergarten, State University of Surabaya. This research utilized a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 60 preschool children aged 4–6 years (48–73 months), selected using total sampling. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 37 respondents were included. Data were collected using the Child Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ) to assess picky eating behavior, interviews with the Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) to evaluate macronutrient intake, and anthropometric measurements to determine nutritional status. Waste is an environmental problem that can cause air pollution and health problems if not managed properly. The presence of Temporary Waste Disposal Sites (TPS) close to residential areas often produces unpleasant odors due to the decomposition of organic waste, thus disturbing the comfort of the community. This study aims to determine the relationship between the distance of homes from TPS and odor disturbances in the community in Andounuhu Village, Kendari City. The study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design on 58 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and observations, then analyzed univariately and bivariately. The results showed that residents living less than 100 meters from the TPS experienced odor disturbances more often than those living further away. The further the distance of the house from the TPS, the level of odor disturbance tended to decrease. This study shows that the proximity of residential areas to TPS affects environmental comfort, so that more optimal TPS management is needed through routine waste transportation and arranging TPS locations that are not too close to residential areas.

This study aims to examine flood disaster mitigation efforts carried out by the Regional Disaster Management Agency in Sukamakmur Village, Karawang Regency. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The theory used in this study is the Strategy Theory proposed by James Brian Quinn (2003:10), which consists of three dimensions: objectives, policies, and programs. The study identifies problems related to flood disasters that occur almost every year in Sukamakmur Village. To address these issues, it is necessary to analyze the mitigation efforts implemented by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), as well as the related policies and programs concerning flood disasters. The findings show that the objective of disaster mitigation is directed toward improving community preparedness and capacity in dealing with flood risks. Mitigation policies are implemented through strengthening community capacity based on non-structural mitigation, such as the establishment of Disaster Resilient Villages (DESTANA), village disaster volunteers, and disaster risk assessments. The mitigation programs carried out include disaster awareness socialization, mitigation training, and dissemination of daily weather information. In its implementation, BPBD also coordinates with the village government, sub-district task forces, and the River Basin Management Agency (BBWS). These mitigation programs have had a positive impact on increasing community knowledge, preparedness, and participation, although there are still obstacles in the form of limited budgets, infrastructure, human resources, and suboptimal cross-sector coordination. The contribution of this research is to provide additional insight and new information regarding the role of the Regional Disaster Management Agency in flood disaster mitigation.

The development of halal tourism has encouraged sharia hotels to provide services that are not only comfortable and functional, but also consistent with Islamic values and halal assurance. This study aims to analyze the integration strategy between sharia hotels and halal restaurants in increasing guest visits and satisfaction at Mangkuto Sharia Hotel Payakumbuh. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving hotel management, operational employees, guests, sharia certification experts, and representatives of the local government. The data were analyzed descriptively and strengthened through strategic analysis using the Resource-Based View (RBV), Value Chain, SWOT analysis, IFAS-EFAS matrix, TOWS matrix, and Blue Ocean Strategy. The findings reveal that service integration was implemented through sharia-based operational policies, halal assurance systems in restaurant activities, and cross-departmental coordination between the front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage departments. This integration created added value in the form of physical comfort, emotional trust, and spiritual peace for guests. Internal hotel data also indicated an increase in occupancy rates from 26% in 2020 to 52% in 2024 following the implementation of the sharia concept and halal restaurant integration. Strategic analysis positioned the hotel in Quadrant I (aggressive growth strategy), supported by its halal reputation, Islamic organizational culture, guest trust, and its uniqueness as the first sharia hotel in West Sumatra certified by the National Sharia Council–Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI). The implication of this study shows that the integration of sharia hospitality can serve as a competitive product strategy rather than merely a compliance instrument, while also supporting the development of regional halal tourism.

The Kepus Pungsed ritual, a Balinese Hindu life-cycle ceremony performed in Menyali Village, embodies a set of culturally and spiritually significant lexicons that function as a medium for transmitting traditional knowledge. This study aims to (1) describe the level of perceived understanding of the Kepus Pungsed ritual lexicons among adults, (2) describe the level of perceived understanding among elders, and (3) determine whether there is a significant difference between the two groups. This research employed a quantitative comparative cross-sectional design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire consisting of 36 ritual lexicons administered to 100 respondents, comprising 50 adults and 50 elders in Menyali Village. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis through the Mann–Whitney U test. The findings reveal a substantial generational gap in perceived understanding. Adults demonstrate a low level of perceived understanding, with 76% categorized as very low and 24% as low. In contrast, elders show a high level of perceived understanding, with 72% categorized as very high and 28% as high. The inferential analysis confirms that there is a statistically significant difference between adults and elders in their perceived understanding of the ritual lexicons. These findings indicate that the lexicons of the Kepus Pungsed ritual are in a vulnerable state due to the decline in comprehension among the younger adult generation. This study highlights the urgency of strengthening intergenerational transmission and suggests the integration of cultural and linguistic elements, particularly through English language education, to support the preservation and revitalization of endangered ritual lexicons.
