Currently, there are many platforms used by writers to publish news, one of which is through mass media. In publishing news, a writer must pay attention to good and correct language quality in order to meet the requirements of linguistic quality. Thus, there needs to be more understanding from a writer in order to write spelling correctly and correctly according to writing guidelines. The purpose of this research is to check the correctness of news text writing has fulfilled the rules of good and correct language and in accordance with the user situation in a mass media. If a mass media does not present news text writing using good and correct language rules, its competence needs to be doubted. The approach used in this research is a syntactic approach using a qualitative descriptive method. This method is used to investigate and explain things related to a reality that occurs in the surrounding environment. The results of the analysis and discussion of the research prove that in the news text on the February 2024 edition of Koran Tempo website there are still errors in word writing, errors in the use of punctuation marks, and errors in the use of letters. The quality of language in the news text is classified as good if it meets the requirements of no errors in writing words, punctuation, letters, and spelling. With this research, it is hoped that it can increase knowledge about language and can improve the ability to read news texts, analyze language quality, and provide guidance to writers to pay attention to linguistic rules or use standard language in writing so that it is easily understood by the public.

A news text is a text that conveys news or information to the public about a factual and actual event. In the writing of news text should pay attention to the effectiveness of sentences so that the information conveyed can be accepted by readers and listeners. So, this research focuses more on analyzing the effectiveness of sentences contained in news text excerpts. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of sentences in news texts for critical reading of grade IX junior high school students. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive method while the research data collection uses literature study techniques, namely listening and noting. The results of this study prove that sentence analysis shows the existence of effective sentences and ineffective sentences. Sentences are classified as effective if they meet several requirements, namely structural equivalence, word economy, accuracy of reasoning and logicality of language. Meanwhile, ineffective sentences are caused by the structure of the sentence not being unified, not parallel, and very wasteful or wordy. The practical benefit obtained is the ease of determining the effectiveness of sentences in news texts. The data taken in this research is in the form of effective sentences contained in CNN news articles about the February edition of the election for critical reading of grade IX junior high school students.

The purpose is to develop the students of class XI-TFLM 2 of SMK Negeri 5 Surabaya in understanding the structure of news text by using SQ3R technique. The main problem identified is that students are unable to recognize the important elements of news text, such as title, introduction, news content, and conclusion. This research method includes two action cycles using the SQ3R strategy and consists of the following steps: research, questioning, reading, reciting, and reviewing. In Cycle I, this strategy was introduced to improve students' understanding of news text structure, resulting in an increase in students' average score from 55.82 points in the pre-action to 71.06 points. Based on the reflection of Cycle I, it was found that students still had difficulty distinguishing and analyzing the elements of news structure. In the second cycle, they strengthened the SQ3R strategy through group discussions and extensive reading, so that their average score increased to 80.76. These results show that the SQ3R strategy is effective in improving students' news text analysis skills. The improvement of students' ability in analyzing the structure of news texts is reflected in the better results in cycle II, showing the potential of this method as an effective approach in Indonesian language learning. This study recommends a more comprehensive application of the SQ3R strategy to improve news text analysis skills in secondary education.

This study analyses the use of assertive illocutionary acts in TikTok news produced by Liputan 6 SCTV and explores the news construction strategies within this short video format. In the current digital era, social media platforms such as TikTok play an increasingly important role in information dissemination, particularly among younger and more dynamic audiences. Assertive illocutionary acts, which function to convey information with firmness and confidence, are effectively used in TikTok news to ensure that the messages communicated are clear and unambiguous. This research employs a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques including observation and content analysis, as well as interviews with relevant journalists. The findings reveal that Liputan 6 SCTV utilises engaging visual elements and concise narratives to deliver news effectively within the constraints of short video formats. While this strategy enhances audience engagement, it also presents challenges related to the limited space for in-depth explanation. Comparisons with previous studies indicate that although the approach on TikTok aligns with modern communication trends, there are significant differences in news delivery techniques compared to other platforms such as YouTube or Instagram. This research contributes to illocutionary theory and social media studies by providing insights into the adaptation of language and news format within the dynamic context of social media. Recommendations for future research include exploring the use of illocutionary acts on other platforms and applying mixed-methods approaches to gain a more comprehensive understanding.

This research aims to classify news headlines into clickbait and non-clickbait using the Multinomial Naive Bayes method. The data used comes from the dataset CLICK-ID: A Novel Dataset for Indonesian Clickbait Headlines. The research process involves stages of data collection, preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, model evaluation, and result analysis. The test results show that the Multinomial Naive Bayes algorithm consistently produces an accuracy rate of around 78%. Optimization using Grid Search did not result in an accuracy improvement. However, there was an improvement in the recall value for the non-clickbait class from 76% to 80%. The best parameter found was an alpha of 0.15. Therefore, the Multinomial Naive Bayes algorithm can be effectively used to address the problem of classifying clickbait news headlines, with the potential to contribute to clickbait prevention efforts in the future.
