This study is motivated by the tourism potential of Tamsar 27 in Bengkelang Village, Bandar Pusaka Sub-district, Aceh Tamiang Regency, which offers clear river streams, scenic natural landscapes, and a peaceful rural atmosphere, yet has not been optimally managed to improve the local economy. The purpose of this research is to analyze strategies for community-based tourism management to enhance local welfare. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, using field observations, interviews, and documentation as data-collection techniques. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion-drawing stages. The results reveal five main strategies for improving community economy through tourism management at Tamsar 27: (1) improving tourism infrastructure; (2) empowering local communities through training in tourism management and entrepreneurship; (3) diversifying tourism-related businesses such as homestays and local specialty products; (4) optimizing digital promotion; and (5) strengthening partnerships among the village government, village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), and private sectors to ensure sustainable tourism development. The implications of this study demonstrate that applying the principles of community-based tourism and empowerment theory provides an effective foundation for developing sustainable rural tourism destinations while simultaneously enhancing local income and community self-reliance.

The results showed that communal land conversion occurred intensively for homestay construction and tourism facilities with a total score of 1121 in the good category. Environmental conditions were generally well-controlled with a score of 983 in the very good category, although there were impacts such as reduced vegetation and decreased water quality. Regression analysis confirmed a significant influence between communal land conversion and environmental conditions at 18.49 percent with a significance value of 0.002. Community participation in maintaining the cleanliness of tourism areas was very good, however, stricter government supervision, reforestation programs, and adequate waste management are needed to prevent ecosystem degradation in the future.

The digital transformation of payment systems has become essential for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to improve transaction efficiency and expand market accessibility. This community service program was conducted to introduce and implement the use of QRIS through the Dana Bisnis application for four MSMEs located in the Makam Raja-Raja Imogiri tourism area Yogyakarta : Warung Wahyu, Warmindo Babe, Warung Pecel Bu Yani, and Warung Pecel Bu Elti. Initially, all MSMEs relied solely on cash transactions, leading to difficulties in financial recording and limited access to digital financial services. The program consisted of several stages, including on-site surveys, problem identification, explanation of digital payment benefits, training on QRIS registration and usage, and continuous assistance during the transition process. The results indicate a significant improvement in MSMEs’ understanding of digital payment systems and a gradual shift towards non-cash transactions. Evaluation findings show that approximately 60% of daily transactions were conducted via QRIS, and business owners reported benefits such as simplified bookkeeping, faster payment processing, and enhanced transaction security. This program demonstrates that QRIS-based digital payment systems can be effectively implemented in traditional MSMEs through proper mentoring and hands-on guidance. The initiative also plays a strategic role in promoting financial inclusion and strengthening MSME competitiveness in tourism areas. Continued efforts remain necessary, particularly in enhancing digital literacy and expanding access to supporting technology to ensure equitable adoption of digital payment systems.

This study formulates a design concept for the Beach Tourism Resort Area in Botubarani Village by applying tropical architecture that responds to coastal climatic conditions while enhancing the quality of visitor experiences. The research integrates principles of thermal comfort, environmental sustainability, and the ecological potential of coastal environments as the basis for creating climate-adaptive and environmentally responsive tourism areas. The methodology includes site analysis, field observation, climatological assessment, and a literature review related to tropical architecture and coastal tourism design. The collected data were used to determine building orientation, mass layout patterns, visitor capacity, materials, vegetation, and utility systems appropriate for humid tropical climates. The findings show that the site’s position between the sea and the mountains, combined with full-day sun exposure, requires design strategies that maximize cross-ventilation, utilize sloped roofs, provide natural shading, and apply local materials such as wood, bamboo, and red brick. The large spatial needs based on visitor capacity projections are accommodated through a flexible cluster layout that supports visual and functional connectivity between buildings while incorporating green open spaces to enhance microclimate comfort. The utility system is designed using sustainability principles through greywater–blackwater separation, infiltration wells, and recycling-based waste management. This study confirms that the application of tropical architecture in coastal tourism areas can improve thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. These findings guide developing tropical tourism area designs that are more adaptive to climate change and more responsive to visitor needs.

This research aims to analyze the Regional Government's strategy in developing the Tanjung Lesung Tourism Area and identify obstacles and efforts to improve the community's economy. As a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and a national priority tourism destination, Tanjung Lesung has great potential in encouraging local growth, but its development still faces challenges. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method through interviews, observations, and documentation studies with informants from the Tourism Office, SEZ managers, MSME actors, and Pokdarwis. The results of the study show that the government's strategy focuses on the development of attractions through the involvement of MSMEs and cultural preservation, as well as improving facilities with training and community assistance. This strategy has a positive impact on increasing income and job creation. However, there are obstacles in the form of limited regional authority in SEZ management, lack of optimal accessibility and infrastructure, weak collaboration between stakeholders, low capacity of local human resources, and inconsistent promotion. The government's efforts include increasing human resource capacity, facilitating MSMEs in events, and cross-sector coordination. In conclusion, the Tanjung Lesung tourism development strategy has contributed to economic empowerment, but it is not optimal, so stronger synergy is needed between the government, the private sector, and the community to realize sustainable tourism.

This study aims to identify five basic principles of ecotourism, namely conservation, education, recreation, economy, and community participation in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village using qualitative methods. Primary data was obtained through uninvolved observation and semi-structured interviews with the community, tourism village managers, and actors of ecotourism activities in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village. Secondary data was obtained from the study of relevant documents and data provided by the tourist village manager in the form of documentation of ecotourism activities. The results showed that the conservation principle was identified as the most dominant principle applied in almost all activities in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village. The application of the principles of education, economy, recreation, and community participation still varies for each tourism activity. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve tourism education programs and economic empowerment based on local community participation. This study has limitations because it only identifies the basic principles of ecotourism as the results of the research. Further research should focus on examining the best strategies to strengthen the integration of conservation, economy, education, recreation, and community participation in the development of ecotourism-based tourism destinations. Thus, the development of ecotourism in Turgo-Merapi Tourism Village is expected to be sustainable and bring greater benefits to the community and the environment.
