Psychological assessment in guidance and counseling (GC) plays a vital role in understanding students holistically. However, its implementation in schools often faces ethical and legal challenges, particularly concerning the authority and competence of school counselors. This article examines the ethical representation of psychological assessments conducted by GC teachers through a literature review. Findings reveal that many practices exceed legal boundaries and highlight the need for professional collaboration, assessment training, and ethical literacy. Ethical assessment is not merely procedural compliance, but a form of professional responsibility to protect students’ rights and ensure accurate and safe services.

Coping ability is the ability to cope with pressure and problems. there are several types of coping strategies, including passive and active coping. The purpose of this study is to see how social cognitive theory can be applied in guidance and counseling practice to improve adolescents' ability to handle stress. To find the application of the theory in guidance and counseling, relevant literature has been collected and analyzed using the literature review method. Results show that the principles of Cognitive Social Theory, which include strong social support, the use of active coping strategies, and parental involvement, contribute positively to the development of adolescents' coping skills. The results showed that adolescents who participated in a TSC-based guidance and counseling program showed better emotional resilience and self-efficacy. It was found that strengthening coping skills requires support from peers and family. To ensure that the intervention meets the needs of adolescents, ongoing evaluation is also needed. This study points out some issues when implementing a TSC-based guidance program, such as obtaining adequate training for counselors and ensuring that resources are available. It is expected that adolescents will be able to gain better skills to handle diverse situations and improve their emotional resilience by implementing an effective theory-based approach. Further research is needed, especially to improve adolescents' adaptability in today's increasingly complex environment.

Psychological assessment is an important component of guidance and counseling services as it supports counselors' understanding of learners' psychological conditions, potentials, and problems. This article aims to explain the role of assessment in understanding clients, identify the types of assessments commonly used, and emphasize the importance of understanding assessment as a counselor's professional competence. This study uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies from relevant journals. The results of the discussion show that assessments, both test and non-test, can provide comprehensive information that assists counselors in designing effective interventions. Understanding assessment also encourages counselors to act professionally and ethically in the service process. Thus, assessment is not just a measuring tool, but an important foundation in holistic and strategic counseling practice.

This study discusses the importance of Guidance and Counseling (BK) activities in schools, which must be carried out by competent BK teachers or counselors. Referring to the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 111 of 2014, the presence of trained BK teachers is vital in helping students overcome academic and emotional challenges. This research aims to explore the practices of BK teachers in maintaining the confidentiality and objectivity of psychological assessment results, as well as to identify the obstacles they face. The method used is qualitative research through literature review, with data collection conducted purposively and using snowball techniques. The results indicate that ethical principles such as confidentiality, voluntariness, and openness are applied by BK teachers at school, creating a safe environment for students. However, BK teachers with non-BK educational backgrounds still have limited understanding of the code of ethics. These findings emphasize the need for enhancing BK teachers' competencies to provide more effective services in shaping students' ethics and morals and supporting their character development.

This article discusses the important role of guidance and counseling in supporting the development of students through ethical and professional psychological assessments. Guidance and counseling aim to help individuals develop their potential, overcome problems, and improve their quality of life. Psychological assessment becomes a crucial component in this process, requiring attention to ethical aspects, confidentiality, and the competence of the counselor. The use of psychological tests must adhere to the ethical codes established by professional associations, such as ABKIN and HIMPSI, to ensure that counselors possess adequate skills in using assessment instruments. This article also identifies challenges in maintaining objectivity in assessments, such as subjective bias and environmental pressure, and offers effective solutions, including professional training and team collaboration. By applying ethical principles and competencies, guidance and counseling can provide quality services, protect the rights and welfare of students, and contribute to the development of individuals and society as a whole.

Psychological assessment is an important part of guidance and counseling services because it helps counselors understand the conditions and needs of their clients more accurately. However, its implementation must adhere to ethical principles, such as maintaining confidentiality and being objective in assessment. This article aims to discuss the importance of ethics in the psychological assessment process, particularly in the context of guidance and counseling services in schools. Using a literature review method, this article examines various literature related to ethical codes, assessment principles, and challenges frequently faced by counselors. The findings indicate that counselors must understand the boundaries of their authority in using assessment tools, maintain the confidentiality of clients' data, and continuously develop their professional competencies. By applying appropriate ethics, assessments can be conducted fairly, accurately, and maintain clients' trust in counseling services.

Psychological assessment in the context of guidance and counseling is a crucial process for understanding the client's condition, potential, and needs comprehensively. However, in its implementation, ethical aspects become the main foundation that cannot be overlooked, particularly confidentiality and objectivity. This article aims to thoroughly examine the ethical principles in the implementation of psychological assessments, focusing on two main aspects: (1) how to maintain the confidentiality of client assessment results to prevent misuse of the obtained information and protect individual privacy, and (2) identifying the challenges faced by counselors in maintaining the objectivity of assessments and formulating practical solutions to address them. This research method employs a literature review approach and focuses on two key roles of the above concepts.

This article discusses the importance of ethics in psychological assessment, particularly within the context of guidance and counseling, focusing on strategies to maintain confidentiality and objectivity. Confidentiality is a fundamental principle that must be upheld by counselors and psychologists to protect clients’ rights and privacy, as well as to build trust in the professional relationship. Strategies include transparent explanations of confidentiality limits, the use of informed consent, and the implementation of data security technologies such as encryption and role-based access restrictions. Furthermore, objectivity in assessment is maintained through the use of valid and reliable instruments and unbiased approaches to ensure accurate and fair results. By consistently applying ethical principles, the assessment process can provide optimal benefits to clients and uphold the integrity of the guidance and counseling profession.

This study discusses the role of assessment in guidance and counseling services, particularly how assessment assists counselors in understanding clients and the types of assessments commonly used in the counseling process. Assessment is a crucial tool for gathering objective and comprehensive data about clients’ potentials, problems, and psychological conditions. Through test and non-test assessment techniques, counselors can obtain a thorough overview that supports the development of targeted service programs. This study emphasizes that the selection of assessment types should be adjusted to the client’s needs and characteristics to ensure effective counseling. Assessments not only provide data for planning but also contribute to client self-understanding, increase motivation for change, and help identify obstacles that need to be addressed. Therefore, the ethical and professional application of assessment is essential in supporting the success of guidance and counseling services.

Career planning is a crucial step in equipping vocational high school students to face the world of work or continue their education. This study aims to explain the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in helping students plan their careers through aptitude and interest test services. This study uses a narrative qualitative approach using data collection techniques through literature studies and content analysis. The study that will take place shows that BK teachers have a strategic role in helping students recognize their potential, determine educational paths, and choose the appropriate career direction using their abilities and interests. Aptitude and interest tests are important instruments that help students understand personal strengths and reduce the risk of mis-majoring. Barriers to the implementation of these services include limited resources, test sense, and lack of career issues. Therefore, an integrated strategy is needed between BK teachers, schools, and parents so that this service can run optimally.

Multicultural counseling is a procedure including counselors and counselees with different cultural backgrounds, multicultural counselors need to understand multicultural factors that are in accordance with the conditions of guidance counselees. This research used a qualitative methodology, specifically a literature review, that consists of obtaining data sources relevant to the research issue. The primary data source is derived from the article manuscript, which will be evaluated through descriptive analysis.The purpose of this research is to enhance understanding related to multicultural guidance and counseling models. The findings of this research encompass (1) the concept of multicultural guidance and counseling, (2) multicultural guidance and counseling models, and (3) types of multicultural guidance and counseling in Indonesia.

Service satisfaction is defined as an effort to fulfill something or make something adequate which is generally described as a feeling of pleasure or disappointment that arises towards performance (results) after being compared with expected performance. Measuring the level of student satisfaction towards services in schools is an important element in the school's efforts to provide the best, efficient and effective services for students. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Guidance and Counseling (BK) program in schools. This survey involved a number of BK teachers and students from several schools in certain areas. The research method used was qualitative with an open questionnaire instrument, namely a structured interview to measure various aspects of the BK program, including service quality, student involvement, and the impact on students' academic and emotional development. The survey results showed that most students and BK teachers felt that the BK program in schools had been running quite well, but there were still some areas that needed improvement, such as the availability of resources and further training for counselors. In addition, there was a positive correlation between the frequency of student involvement in BK sessions with an increase in their academic achievement and emotional well-being. This study provides recommendations for improving the BK program in schools, including increasing training for counselors and strengthening support from the school.

Interest and aptitude tests help in recognizing children's potential early on, so that parents and educators can plan education that is more suitable and supports the optimal development of children's potential. The purpose of this study is to help individuals know that interest and aptitude test instrumentation has a major impact in directing individuals in developing themselves, both in academics and careers. Children who study and work according to their interests tend to be more motivated, happy and accomplished. With a clear understanding of interests and aptitudes, children can make better decisions regarding future education, major and career choices. In this study we used the Literature Review method by collecting several sources. The results and discussion of the literature review discussion regarding interest tests, interest inventories, and Android-based psychological test applications in guidance and counseling in schools show that these tools are very important to help students determine educational and career paths according to their interests and talents. Interest tests help reduce uncertainty in career decision-making, improve the fit between individuals and jobs or study programs, and expand understanding of the psychological tendencies underlying their choices.

This article critically examines how professionals in guidance and counseling can maintain their integrity when applying the ethical principles of their profession. It draws on theories on professional ethics and also explores the advantages and limitations of psychological assessment and its implications for counseling services. The analysis shows that maintaining professionalism depends on a high level of ethical awareness, as well as supervision and self-reflection of counselors.

This study aims to analyze the role of psychological assessment in improving the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in educational settings through a qualitative literature review. Psychological assessment is a fundamental component in counseling practice that allows counselors to understand clients in depth and comprehensively. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature review that analyzes journal articles, textbooks, and relevant academic publications from 2015- 2025. The results of the study indicate that psychological assessment has two main roles: first, helping counselors understand the internal dynamics, cultural context, strengths, and resources of clients; second, providing various types of assessment instruments that can be selected according to needs, including personality, cognitive, emotional, behavioral, projective, multicultural, and technology-based assessments. Appropriate assessment not only functions as a diagnostic tool but also as a therapeutic intervention that encourages client self-awareness. The implementation of quality psychological assessment is the foundation for designing effective and responsive counseling services to the individual needs of students, so that it can improve the overall quality of guidance and counseling services in educational settings.

The Ethics Profession includes things like maintaining data confidentiality, obtaining client consent, and ensuring that the measuring instruments used are appropriate and reliable. If these principles are ignored, violations can occur that harm clients and tarnish the counseling profession. This article discusses the importance of ethics in the practice of psychological assessment by counselors, the various challenges that often arise, and steps that can be taken to maintain professionalism. The goal is for counselors to be able to provide services that are safe, fair, and oriented towards the best interests of clients.
