Programming and Algorithm Fundamentals 2026 Asosiasi Pengelola Jurnal Informatika dan Komputer Indonesia

This study compares the scalability and maintainability of three prominent programming paradigms-functional programming (FP), object-oriented programming (OOP), and declarative programming (DP)-in the context of distributed data processing systems. The research aims to evaluate how each paradigm performs under increased data volume and its ability to handle complex operations, while also assessing the ease of maintenance through code readability, modularity, and the flexibility of updating and debugging. The study employs a comparative experimental design, implementing identical data processing tasks, such as data aggregation, filtering, and transformation, across each paradigm. Key findings indicate that FP and DP outperform OOP in terms of scalability, with their stateless nature and high-level abstractions enabling efficient parallel processing and task distribution. FP, with its emphasis on immutability and concurrency, and DP, with its focus on describing desired outcomes rather than implementation specifics, both demonstrate superior performance in handling large datasets. However, while OOP excels in modularity and flexibility, its reliance on mutable state and shared resources hampers its scalability in distributed environments. In terms of maintainability, both FP and DP offer clearer, more maintainable code due to their abstraction levels, making them easier to update and extend. OOP, while modular, presents challenges in managing mutable state, complicating maintenance. This paper concludes with practical recommendations for developers on when to use each paradigm based on system requirements and suggests areas for future research, such as hybrid paradigms and long-term maintainability studies in real-world applications.

This study was conducted to examine the level of implementation of Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM) at Kedai Nduy, a micro-scale culinary business located in Depok. The basis for conducting this research is the low quality of financial records among UMKM players due to a lack of understanding of accounting, limited assistance from competent parties, and the suboptimal implementation of financial reporting standards, which are the main obstacles. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method, where data was collected through interviews, direct observation, and document searches related to transaction recording activities, sales, raw material purchases, and daily cash flow. The results of the study show that Kedai Nduy has consistently recorded transactions using a simple financial recording format using Excel tables, but the implementation does not fully comply with SAK EMKM provisions. This business entity has also not prepared the required financial statements, namely the Statement of Financial Position, Income Statement, and Notes to the Financial Statements. The main obstacles faced are limited understanding of accounting, lack of time available to business owners, and the unavailability of technical assistance and accounting training. Nevertheless, simple record keeping still provides benefits, particularly in monitoring sales, purchasing, and daily cash flow activities. Therefore, this study recommends accounting training, the use of SAK EMKM-based applications or templates, and ongoing assistance to improve the quality of financial recording and reporting in accordance with applicable standards.

Leaf springs serve as vehicle weight supports and vibration dampers from uneven roads. Reducing vehicle weight can support fuel consumption reduction. The use of composite materials allows for a reduction in leaf spring weight without reducing load capacity and stiffness. The purpose of this study was to find the composition of composite leaf springs with a polyurethane matrix that were resistant to tensile and flexural tests using e-glass, epoxy, and polyurethane materials. This study used an experimental method, in which specimens were tested using a tensile and flexural testing machine. The variations included polyurethane matrices of 10%, 20%, and 30%. The data was statistically analyzed using Excel to determine the significant effect of the variables. The results showed the effect of polyurethane variation on the composite. The tensile test showed that the greatest tensile stress was on the 30% polyurethane specimen at 1.574 N/mm² and the smallest was on the 10% specimen at 7.007 N/mm². In the flexural test, the greatest effect on flexural strength was observed in the 30% specimen at 14.36 MPa and the smallest in the 10% specimen at 25.82 MPa. Without the addition of polyurethane, the tensile stress was 39.678 N/mm² and the flexural strength was 157.09 MPa. Conclusion: The addition of polyurethane reduces the mechanical strength of composite leaf spring material without polyurethane addition.

The objective of this study is to comprehensively examine and analyze the influence of microstructure on the mechanical properties of metallic materials. Microstructure is known to play a crucial role in determining the mechanical behavior of metals; therefore, a thorough understanding of this relationship is essential for the development of engineering materials. This study adopts a systematic literature review approach, employing descriptive analysis and meta-analysis of recent scientific publications obtained from various reputable academic databases. The analysis results indicate that microstructure is a significant determinant of the mechanical characteristics of metallic materials, including strength, ductility, and resistance to deformation. The most influential microstructural parameters include grain size, phase distribution, crystallographic orientation, dislocation density, and the presence and characteristics of precipitates. Among these parameters, grain size has been shown to be the most dominant factor. The Hall–Petch strengthening mechanism demonstrates that grain refinement can increase the tensile strength of materials by approximately 200 to 300 percent. In addition, materials with multi-phase microstructures, such as dual-phase steels and TRIP steels, exhibit an excellent combination of strength and ductility compared to single-phase materials. Based on the meta-analysis results, each metallic material system exhibits a trade-off between strength and ductility, whereby an increase in strength is generally accompanied by a reduction in ductility. These findings indicate that achieving an optimal combination of mechanical properties for specific application requirements necessitates a comprehensive and integrated microstructural engineering approach.

This study aims to develop an educational application based on a Graphical User Interface (GUI) using MATLAB App Designer that functions as an interactive simulation for evaluating blood pressure. The application allows users to input systolic and diastolic blood pressure values along with supporting information such as name and age. The input data are then analyzed and classified into several blood pressure categories according to the standards of the American Heart Association (AHA), including normal, hypotension, stage 1 hypertension, stage 2 hypertension, and hypertensive crisis. The classification results are presented visually through an interactive pie chart with dynamic percentages and legends to enhance user understanding. In addition, all data are automatically stored in a Microsoft Excel file containing a summary of blood pressure categories and session timestamps. The system is designed with a simple interface and intuitive interaction, making it suitable for early health education purposes. Although the application still relies on manual data input, it has the potential to serve as an effective learning tool for increasing public awareness of the importance of regular blood pressure monitoring.

This study analyzes the role of Islamic leadership in enhancing educational innovation through the integration of managerial, spiritual, and collaborative values ​​in Islamic schools. Using a qualitative literature review method, this study investigates how principals can apply the principles of amanah (trust) and ithqan (trustworthiness) as a basis for professional and ethical management. The results indicate that effective leadership in madrasas requires a balance between spiritual values, managerial competencies, and a collaborative culture that supports educational excellence. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the importance of educational supervision as a strategy for maintaining innovation and continuous improvement in Islamic educational institutions. An Islamic leadership approach that prioritizes integrity, professionalism, and knowledge sharing will foster an innovative and productive environment. Principals, as leaders, are not only responsible for academic success but must also be able to build a harmonious work climate, prioritize ethics, and continuously encourage positive changes in the learning process. Thus, this study contributes to the development of relevant leadership models in the context of Islamic education.

Kyriad Hotel Arra Cepu is a star-rated hotel located in Blora Regency that plays an important role in supporting tourism activities, business travel, and the development of the local hospitality industry. Despite its strategic position, initial observations and discussions with hotel management revealed several challenges related to service quality, which has not yet fully aligned with current hospitality industry standards. These challenges include limited continuous staff training, inconsistencies between employee competencies and established standard operating procedures, and insufficient professional communication skills. In response, a community service program was developed in the form of competency-based training specifically tailored to the needs of Kyriad Hotel Arra Cepu. The program aims to enhance human resource quality through structured and intensive training aligned with the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards in the hospitality sector, covering Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Products, and Food and Beverage Service. The training was implemented using a participatory and hands-on approach supported by ongoing coaching. Training materials included hotel hygiene and sanitation, excellent service practices, telephone operator etiquette, and basic English communication. This program provides direct benefits by improving employee competence, professionalism, and guest satisfaction, while also supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and strengthening collaboration between academia and the hotel industry. The expected outcomes include improved staff skills, higher service quality, and a replicable training model for similar hotels.

The calculation of work volume and construction costs is a fundamental aspect of project management, as errors in the estimation process can directly affect the preparation of the project budget. Many projects still use conventional methods for estimation, which are based on 2D working drawings with the assistance of Microsoft Excel, as seen in the Sungai Raya Religious Court Building project. This method is considered prone to calculation errors and less efficient due to the considerable amount of time required. With the advancement of technology, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has emerged, enabling automatic and integrated calculation of work volumes and construction costs through a three-dimensional digital model. This study aims to examine the implementation of BIM in the Sungai Raya Religious Court Building project and to compare the results of work volume and construction cost calculations between the BIM method using Autodesk Revit and the conventional method based on the project’s Bill of Quantity (BoQ). The research method was conducted by modeling the structural elements of the building, including pile caps, tie beams, columns, beams, floor slabs, and reinforcements. The results of work volume and construction cost calculations obtained from Autodesk Revit were then compared with the project’s BoQ as the conventional method. Based on the analysis, an average difference of 6.3% in work volume and 5.6% in construction cost was found, with the Autodesk Revit calculations showing slightly lower values compared to the project’s BoQ.

The advancement of information technology today has provided great benefits in the world of education. The construction of computer-based academic information system websites is part of the use of information technology. With information technology, it is possible for academic databases to be processed quickly and easily, so that in the presentation of the required academic information reports can be obtained precisely, quickly, and efficiently. SMP Negeri 2 Wewewa Utara already has sufficient information technology infrastructure, but it has not been used optimally in academic management. The school already has a computer lab and internet access, but academic data management is still carried out manually using a ledger and Microsoft Excel application. To address issues such as unintegrated student data, complex and time-consuming grade management processes, delivering academic information, and monitoring student learning progress, an academic information system is needed. The purpose of developing this system is to solve the problems contained in the previous system by creating an academic information system at SMP N 2 Wewewa Utara. With the implementation of the new system at SMP N 2 Wewewa Utara, the knowledge and skills of employees, teachers, and principals in the field of web-based academic information systems can be improved. In the development of the academic information system that will be included in the system, it includes information about students, subjects, student classes, classrooms, teachers, homeroom teachers, and student score reports. The software used is DBMS (Database Management System), while the data storage medium is MySQL and PHP as a Programming Language.

This study evaluates the efficiency of two artificial intelligence models, DeepSeek and OpenAI, in generating code for algorithmic systems. Efficiency is assessed through execution speed, code accuracy, and the number of code characters produced. Data were collected from 100 tests covering search, sorting, graph, dynamic programming, optimization, data processing, text, and machine learning algorithms. The objective is to compare the performance of both models to support the development of efficient information retrieval systems. The method involves algorithm testing with statistical analysis of execution time, accuracy, and code length. Results indicate that DeepSeek has an average execution time of 28.74 seconds, slightly slower than OpenAI’s 28.49 seconds. However, DeepSeek’s accuracy (85.88%) surpasses OpenAI’s (85.03%). The average number of code characters is identical at 96.35 characters. The study concludes that DeepSeek excels in accuracy, while OpenAI is faster in certain cases, providing valuable insights for developers in selecting AI models for information retrieval applications.

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve the quality of youth and strengthen the role of families in youth development through structured socialization and training programs in Parangloe District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. The formation of an excellent generation requires active and synergistic roles among youth, families, and the social environment. Families hold a strategic position as the primary space for character formation, while youth need proper guidance to develop their potential optimally and responsibly. The program was implemented through a series of socialization activities, seminars, interactive discussions, and training sessions involving youth, families, community leaders, sub-district government officials, and facilitators from educational institutions. Through a collaborative socialization and training approach, the activities successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of the importance of effective communication, positive parenting, and the strengthening of character values within family life. The results indicate increased participant knowledge regarding the roles of youth and families, the establishment of supportive collaboration, and the growth of commitment to creating a conducive environment for youth development. This program represents an important step in preparing a generation in Parangloe District that is strong in character, adaptive, competitive, and capable of contributing positively to future community development.

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of higher education governance in realizing transparent and accountable academic services. In the context of the globalization of higher education and increasing public accountability demands, universities are required not only to excel academically but also to provide services that are open, responsive, and accountable. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving university leaders, academic administrators, lecturers, and students. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the principle of transparency has been implemented through digital-based academic information systems; however, consistency in updating information still needs improvement. Accountability has been supported by standard operating procedures and service evaluations, although performance measurement based on indicators has not been fully integrated. Stakeholder participation has been facilitated through evaluation forums, but involvement in strategic decision-making remains limited. Overall, the dimensions of transparency, accountability, participation, effectiveness, and responsibility are interrelated in shaping the quality of academic services. This study emphasizes that strengthening governance must be systemically internalized within organizational culture and institutional operational systems to enhance trust and stakeholder satisfaction.

The growing demand for transparency, accountability, and measurable performance has transformed higher education institutions into complex public organizations required to deliver reliable and stakeholder-oriented services. Within this governance-driven environment, institutional governance plays a fundamental role in shaping service excellence and institutional legitimacy. Drawing on a public administration perspective, this study examines how governance dimensions influence academic service performance in higher education. This research employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and institutional observations involving university leaders, academic administrators, faculty members, and students. The analysis focuses on governance dimensions—transparency, accountability, participation, effectiveness, and responsibility—and their integration into institutional systems such as performance management, quality assurance, and digital infrastructure. The findings reveal that governance frameworks are formally established through regulations and digital systems; however, their operational integration remains uneven. Transparency improves service reliability when supported by consistent information management, while accountability mechanisms tend to emphasize procedural compliance rather than performance-based evaluation. Stakeholder participation is institutionalized but largely consultative. The study concludes that service excellence in higher education is a governance-driven outcome that requires systemic alignment between governance principles, institutional capacity, and performance management processes. Strengthened governance integration enhances service reliability and institutional legitimacy.

This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to enhance character, life skills, and family capacity in supporting youth development in Parangloe District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. The family entrepreneurship training activity was conducted through an educational approach, skills training, family workshops, and structured mentoring by involving youth as agents of change. Implementation methods included material presentations on the dangers of drugs, socialization of youth-family collaboration, exposition of entrepreneurship concepts, and hands-on practice in making handicrafts (mini brooches from felt fabric). The activity results demonstrated increased knowledge and understanding among youth regarding positive character values such as discipline, responsibility, and effective communication. Skills training had a significant impact on youth abilities in critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity development. Family empowerment through parenting pattern workshops yielded positive outcomes in parent-child relationships. This program is expected to serve as a model for human resource development at the local level and can be replicated in other regions to create a young generation with excellent character and competitive edge.

Student dropout remains a significant challenge for higher education institutions as it impacts academic quality, educational management efficiency, and students' success in completing their studies. Therefore, an approach that can identify students at risk of dropping out is necessary so that timely academic interventions can be made. This study aims to develop a dropout detection model using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The data used come from a publicly available higher education dataset, ensuring research reproducibility. Data preprocessing steps were carried out to improve data quality before modeling, and the Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique combined with Edited Nearest Neighbors (SMOTE-ENN) was applied to address class imbalance issues. The ANN model's performance was evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and area under the ROC curve (ROC-AUC). The test results show that the ANN model can provide excellent predictive performance in detecting at-risk students. The application of SMOTE-ENN also proved to enhance the model’s sensitivity toward the minority class, as indicated by improvements in recall and F1-score. These findings indicate that the developed ANN model has the potential to be used as a student dropout detection system to support data-driven decision-making and strategy development within higher education institutions.

Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Hyperglycemia is a medical condition in the form of an increase in glucose levels beyond normal limits which is a characteristic of several diseases, especially Diabetes Mellitus, in addition to various other conditions. Diabetes Mellitus is currently a global health threat. Classification is one of the techniques of data mining that can be used to help predict the results of the classification of types of diabetes using the naïve Bayes algorithm. Testing was carried out using 5 evaluation models including rapid miner with 3 options, namely use training set, 5 Fold Cross-Validation, 10 Fold Cross-Validation, and 2 other evaluation models, namely Microsoft Excel and Python. Testing data regarding Diabetes Mellitus has high accuracy in the excel evaluation model, which is 89.00% compared to other evaluation models. Meanwhile, the lowest accuracy is the Python evaluation model which obtains an accuracy of 86.36%. The Naïve Bayes algorithm can be said to be one of the most effective algorithms, both in terms of calculations and the final results, where the test can be used as a basis for diabetes mellitus considering the accuracy results are above 85%.

Digital transformation is an urgent need for MSMEs to maintain competitiveness, yet many businesses like Toko ANHA Kosmetik still rely on manual operational systems that pose a high risk of inefficiency and losses due to expired products. This study aims to design and develop a mobile-based cosmetic sales application capable of integrating inventory management with an early warning feature for product expiration. The methodology employed is Design Thinking, encompassing the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test to ensure the solution is user-centered. The results indicate that this approach successfully identified the primary pain points of the store owner and translated them into functional features such as automatic T-30 expired date notifications and digital product catalogs. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing, yielding 100% functional validity, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), which resulted in an average score of 83.49%, categorized as "Excellent." This study concludes that the designed application is not only technically effective in preventing operational losses but also highly acceptable to MSME users due to its intuitive and functional interface.

This study aims to analyze the influence of Corporate Image and Service Quality through Customer Satisfaction on Customer Loyalty at Semen Indonesia distributors in Gresik using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The study population consisted of 102 customers, all of whom were sampled. The results indicate that Corporate Image and Service Quality have a significant influence on Customer Satisfaction. Both variables were also shown to have a significant influence on Customer Loyalty. However, unlike several previous research findings, Customer Satisfaction did not have a significant influence on Customer Loyalty. This finding indicates that in the context of the cement distribution business, customer loyalty is not formed solely from satisfaction, but is more influenced by other factors such as consistent service quality, a strong corporate image, competitive pricing, and long-term business relationships. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening image and improving service quality as key strategies for maintaining customer loyalty.

Leadership character development is a fundamental foundation in preparing Indonesian Naval Academy Marine Cadets as prospective Platoon Commanders (Platoon Leaders) in operational units. The complexity of the operational environment, the dynamics of the strategic setting, and the demands of military professionalism require a platoon commander to excel not only in technical and tactical competencies, but also to possess strong, integrity-based, and adaptive leadership character. This article aims to comprehensively analyze leadership character development materials for prospective Marine Platoon Commanders at the Indonesian Naval Academy (AAL) using the Character Cultivation approach and the Military Leadership and Character Development theory proposed by Dr. Charles C. Wong. This study employs a qualitative research method with data collected through expert interviews, document analysis, and SWOT analysis. The findings indicate that the most appropriate strategy for leadership character development is the Strength–Opportunities (SO) strategy, which emphasizes leveraging internal strengths of military education to capitalize on external opportunities, particularly global trends in character-based leadership and the utilization of educational technology. This article, structured equivalently to a minimum of 30 A4 pages, is expected to serve as an academic reference and a policy input for strengthening leadership education for Marine Cadets.
