Elderly individuals often experience physiological and health-related changes, including reduced muscle quality and decreased levels of physical activity. This decline negatively impacts overall health, increases the risk of chronic diseases, and diminishes the ability to perform daily activities. This study aimed to examine the relationship between vitamin D levels and physical activity in older adults. A cross-sectional study was conducted at the Bina Bhakti Nursing Home involving 93 participants aged 60 years and above. Physical activity was assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), while vitamin D levels were measured through venous blood sampling. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation. The average age of the participants was 74.34 years, with a mean vitamin D level of 23.73 ng/mL. Based on IPAQ results, 26.9% of participants had low physical activity, 44.1% moderate, and 29% high. Spearman correlation revealed a weak but statistically significant positive correlation between vitamin D levels and physical activity (r = 0.240, p = 0.021). These findings suggest that higher physical activity levels are associated with higher vitamin D concentrations. Engaging in outdoor activities that promote sun exposure and an active lifestyle contributes to maintaining adequate vitamin D levels, which are essential for muscle function, balance, and bone health. Therefore, ensuring sufficient vitamin D status is crucial for supporting optimal physical activity and enhancing the overall health and quality of life among the elderly.

Muscle strength is the ability of muscles to produce power for physical activity, important for mobility, balance and body function. Decreased muscle strength, especially due to aging, negatively impacts quality of life and increases the risk of diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Handgrip is a simple method for measuring muscle strength, especially hand grip strength. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between hand grip strength and blood insulin levels in the elderly. This study used a cross-sectional design at the Bina Bhakti Nursing Home with 93 participants aged 60 years and over. Hand grip strength was measured using a dynamometer, and blood insulin levels were measured from venous blood samples. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation. The results showed an average right hand grip strength of 10.23 kg and left hand 9.33 kg, with an average blood insulin level of 4.83 µU/mL. A significant positive correlation was found between right and left hand grip strength (rho = 0.884, p < 0.001), as well as between right (rho = 0.218, p = 0.036) and left hand grip strength (rho = 0.290, p = 0.005) and insulin levels. blood. These results indicate that hand grip strength can be an indicator of metabolic health in the elderly. Interventions such as strength training and proper nutrition are important for maintaining muscle strength and metabolic health in the elderly.

The digital era has brought significant transformation in the lives of young people, creating both opportunities and challenges for the expression of spiritual values. This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation of the values of Christus Vivit as a spiritual guide for young people in facing the challenges of the digital age. Through a literature review method, this research examines various sources related to Christus Vivit and its relevance to contemporary digital phenomena. The research findings identify four key values of Christus Vivit that are relevant for young people in the digital era: a personal relationship with the living Christ as a spiritual foundation in facing the influx of digital information; freedom and responsibility in the digital realm to filter information and adopt a critical attitude; solidarity and authentic community as an alternative to shallow virtual connections; and discernment and digital wisdom. These findings imply the need for the development of a spiritual mentoring model that integrates Christus Vivit values with digital competencies, so that young people can become wise users of technology while authentically practicing the Christian faith amid the complexities of the digital world.

This article explores theological perspectives on the resurrection of Christ that still feature wounds as a meaningful way to understand and heal trauma. The wounds of Christ that remain after his resurrection are a sign of hope, healing, and reconciliation. In a digital age filled with violence and trauma, the meaning of the resurrection of the body conveys the message that wounds are not the end of everything, but rather part of a holistic healing process both physically, mentally, and spiritually. The incarnation and solidarity of God through the suffering of Christ show that God is present in human grief. The community of faith and pastoral care also have a crucial role in addressing those who have experienced trauma. With a holistic approach that combines body, soul, and spirit, the resurrected body of Christ becomes an example of healing and a source of strength for wounded individuals.

Christian religious education plays an important role in shaping the faith and character of students so that they grow like Christ. However, an approach that overemphasizes the cognitive aspect often prevents students from experiencing faith in its entirety in everyday life. Theological reflection is present as an approach that can bridge the gap between life experiences and understanding of Christian faith. Killen and de Beer offer a practical method of theological reflection, emphasizing awareness of experience, the meaning of values, and interpretation based on sources of faith. Meanwhile, Whitehead emphasizes the dynamics between tradition, personal experience, and culture in shaping theological understanding. Both approaches make significant contributions to Christian religious education because they encourage students to not only know the teachings of faith, but also to live them in the context of real life. Thus, theological reflection can be a transformative method in Christian religious education, strengthening students' involvement in a meaningful and relevant faith learning process.

Semana Santa (Holy Week), which commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, has evolved not only as a sacred religious ritual but also as a unique spiritual tourism attraction. This study aims to analyze the cultural and religious roles in the development of local tourism, with a specific case study on the Semana Santa tradition in Larantuka, East Flores. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach, by collecting and analyzing data from various relevant literature sources. The research results indicate that Semana Santa functions as a primary tourism attraction through four key factors: (1) Sacred Rituals and Processions (such as the Tuan Ma and Tuan Ana processions) that create profound spiritual experiences; (2) Culture and Tradition, which represent a unique acculturation between Catholic rituals and the local Lamaholot culture; (3) Historical Value as a living heritage that has endured for over five centuries; and (4) Spiritual Experience that attracts pilgrims to pray and seek blessings. The conclusion of this study is that the integration of culture, religion, and tourism within the Semana Santa tradition has become a significant driver of the local economy by promoting the growth of homestays, culinary offerings, and souvenirs

This study examines the role of the church in dealing with political dynamics in Indonesia, especially in the context of colonial and post-independence history. Indonesia is a country with historical and cultural uniqueness, including in terms of religious diversity that grew amidst the dominance of colonial powers. Although Islam developed rapidly under the Christian Dutch colonialism, the spread of Christianity continued significantly, especially through Portuguese Catholic missions and non-Dutch Protestant mission organizations. The role of the church in Indonesian history shows the tension between political authority and the autonomy of religious institutions, where the church often fell victim to colonial political control but survived and developed through social, educational, and public service roles. This study highlights how the church continues to have relevance and influence in the context of modern nationality and politics, despite facing historical and structural challenges. Through a historical-critical approach, this study seeks to uncover the dynamics of the church's role in the trajectory of Indonesian politics and its contribution to building a just and plural society.

This article analyzes the depiction of Jesus Christ from various scriptural perspectives and examines the impact of the diversity of Christological experiences on Christian faith. Research shows that the Bible presents a varied picture of Jesus: Mark's Gospel presents Him as the Suffering but Powerful Servant; Matthew as the Messianic King and Great Teacher; John as the eternal Logos (Word); and Revelation depicts Him through symbols of glory as King, Judge, and Redeemer. The diversity of Christological experiences produces positive impacts in the form of deeper understanding, theological enrichment, and facilitation of interfaith dialogue. However, this diversity also has the potential to cause misunderstandings, theological conflicts, and identity crises if not properly understood. This article also explores how cultural and historical backgrounds significantly influence interpretations of Jesus, from the first-century Jewish context to contemporary interpretations in various global cultural contexts. In conclusion, although understandings of Jesus continue to evolve according to context, it is important for people to maintain their theological identity while remaining open to various enriching perspectives.

Catechists hold a crucial role in accompanying the faithful on their spiritual journey. This study aims to explore the dimensions of spirituality and the vocational dynamics of catechists within the pastoral context of the Catholic Church, employing a descriptive qualitative approach. Unlike previous studies that primarily emphasized the catechist as a doctrinal instructor, this research highlights the depth of the catechist's personal relationship with Christ as the foundation of their spirituality. The main findings reveal that catechist spirituality manifests in three key dimensions: (1) a contemplative and intimate relationship with Christ as a source of inspiration and strength, (2) a commitment to service that goes beyond institutional routines, and (3) active engagement within the faith community as a space for growth and mission. Furthermore, this study identifies that the awareness of the catechist’s vocation evolves through theological reflection on concrete pastoral experiences—an aspect often overlooked in prior research. These findings underscore the urgency of continuous formation programs that are not only pedagogical but also spiritual and contextual, in order to strengthen the identity and missionary resilience of catechists amid contemporary pastoral challenges.

This study explores the challenges of evangelism in the modern era, particularly in reaching groups that are apathetic towards the gospel. Using 1 Corinthians 9:19-27 as its foundation, which highlights the importance of flexibility in evangelistic approaches to reach people from various backgrounds, this research applies the Apostle Paul’s concept of adaptability to contemporary evangelism among apathetic groups. Specifically, it examines how biblically-based adaptive strategies can be utilized by churches and individual Christians in their evangelistic mission. The primary aim of this study is to analyze the application of the principle of flexibility in 1 Corinthians 9:19-27 for apathetic groups and to assess how this principle can enhance the effectiveness of evangelism in today’s context. Through this research, it is hoped that new, more relevant approaches for ministry in a diverse society will be identified. This study employs a qualitative method, using biblical text analysis and systematic theological reflection. Findings indicate that applying the principle of flexibility in evangelism is not only effective in addressing apathy, but also allows evangelists to build more personal and empathetic relationships with those they seek to reach. In Paul’s sense, flexibility involves adapting without compromising gospel truth, offering a pertinent strategy for meeting the challenges of evangelizing to apathetic individuals.

Edwin Ray Guthrie's learning theory, known as the concept of contiguity, emphasizes the importance of a direct relationship between stimulus and response in the learning process. According to this theory, a response tends to be repeated if the same stimulus reappears, thus becoming the main key in forming certain habits or behaviors. In the context of Christian Religious Education (PAK), this theory is relevant to be applied in teaching moral and spiritual values, such as love, honesty, loyalty, and forgiveness. Learning based on fragmentation and conditioning aims to shape the character of students consistently, sustainably, and in a directed manner according to Christian teachings. The main challenge in implementing this theory is maintaining the consistency of the stimulus in a dynamic classroom environment and requiring teachers to act not only as a transmitter of material, but also as a real life role model for students. Therefore, Guthrie's theory needs to be adapted through a more holistic approach, by integrating spiritual reflection, habituation of Christian values, and contextual application. Support for the repetition method is also found in Bible teachings, such as Deuteronomy 6:4-9, which emphasizes the importance of teaching the values of faith continuously and sustainably to the next generation.

The issue in this research is the lack of quality in learning, including in Catholic religious education. This certainly affects the instillation of values, which is the primary goal of learning. Therefore, the demand for teachers to become more professional is a key requirement. This study examines the role of Catholic Religious Education teachers in instilling Christian values. The research method used is qualitative, employing interview and documentation techniques to collect data. The data analysis technique for interview results involves reducing interview data, analyzing the results, and drawing conclusions. The interview process was conducted with Catholic religion teachers and students in three schools. This research was carried out in Sekadau Hulu District, involving three senior high schools in the district. The findings show that Catholic Religious Education teachers have not fully made the instillation of Christian values the primary goal of learning. The learning process tends to be merely formal, causing students to engage in it only as a graduation requirement. Teachers' preoccupation with administrative tasks also impacts the meaningfulness of the learning experience. The role of Catholic Religious Education teachers has not been maximized; learning is primarily a transfer of knowledge, and the practical activities carried out appear to have little meaningful impact on students.
