This study discusses the basis of Indonesian society’s obligation to comply with the Marriage Law (UUP) as a manifestation of obedience to both state law and religious teachings. The study arises from the reality that, despite the UUP and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) serving as the legal foundation for marriage in Indonesia, many still violate its provisions, such as through unregistered (siri) marriages. Using a normative juridical approach and qualitative descriptive analysis, this research examines the juridical, philosophical, and sociological foundations of legal obedience to the UUP and its implications for family and social life. The findings show that juridically, obedience to the UUP is grounded in the principle of legality and state sovereignty; philosophically, it reflects the values of Divinity and Humanity embodied in Pancasila; and sociologically, it functions as social engineering to protect women and children while ensuring social order. Compliance with the UUP therefore holds not only legal but also moral and spiritual significance, serving as a means to achieve harmonious families, social order, and a just nation.

This study aims to uncover the theological meaning of Jesus' compassion as expressed in Matthew 9:36 through a biblical exegetical approach. This verse demonstrates Jesus' emotional and spiritual response to the plight of the crowd, described as "weary and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." Using the historical-grammatical exegesis method, this study examines the literary, historical, and linguistic context of the text, particularly the Greek word ἐσπλαγχνίσθη splanchnizomai, which describes compassion born from the depths of the heart. The analysis reveals that Jesus' compassion reflects the core of His messianic mission: God's active involvement in human suffering. This compassion is not merely passive sympathy, but an act that restores, teaches, and shepherds the lost, spiritually and socially. Thus, Matthew 9:36 reveals that Jesus' compassion is the foundation of the Gospel ministry, which emphasizes love, restoration, and God's presence amidst human suffering. Its theological implications emphasize that believers are called to embody Christ's compassion in their lives through loving, empathetic, and caring service to others.

This community service activity was carried out in the form of the Studi Al-Qur’an Intensif (SAINS) program as an effort to empower Qur’anic literacy among students of Universitas Negeri Makassar. The program focused on improving the ability to read and write the Qur’an, considering that some students still lacked the skill to read properly and correctly according to the rules of tajwīd. The implementation methods included a preliminary test of Qur’anic reading and writing skills, intensive mentoring through study groups, the application of the talaqqī method, and periodic evaluation through a final test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ ability to read and write the Qur’an, a strengthened understanding of basic tajwīd, and an increased spiritual motivation to become closer to the Qur’an. In addition, the program successfully fostered a collaborative and sustainable Qur’anic learning atmosphere within the campus environment. Thus, SAINS proved to be an effective means of empowering students’ Qur’anic literacy while instilling religious values as a provision for both academic and social life.

Indonesia’s diversity in ethnicity, culture, religion, and language demands an approach that can simultaneously address intellectual, spiritual, and national dimensions. The integration of philosophy, Pancasila, and theology becomes essential in responding to this complex reality. Philosophy strengthens critical and reflective thinking, helping individuals interpret differences with awareness and avoid hasty judgments, which is crucial in reducing social tension and fostering dialogue. Pancasila, as the nation’s ideological foundation, provides an ethical-political framework that guarantees unity, freedom, and justice for all citizens regardless of background. Theology complements these foundations by offering transcendental ethics and spiritual guidance that shape compassionate attitudes toward others and the environment. A contextual and inclusive theological perspective supports religion’s role as a source of enlightenment and encourages interfaith solidarity in a pluralistic society. When these three elements are integrated into education, public policy, and social culture, they help form a society that is intellectually critical, socially inclusive, and spiritually resilient. Core values such as empathy, justice, equality, and shared responsibility can develop more strongly in daily interactions. Although challenges such as identity crises, misinformation, and online intolerance remain, collaboration between the state and civil society is needed to maintain an inclusive public sphere. Through strengthening philosophical education, deepening appreciation of Pancasila, and advancing contextual theology, Indonesia can build a just and harmonious society.

This study explains the importance of church doctrine as the foundation for forming congregational identity, spiritual growth, and as a guide in worship and ministry practices. Furthermore, this paper describes the positive impact of church doctrine on the spiritual development and social life of the congregation, as well as the challenges faced in the context of social, cultural, and technological change. The Church is expected to respond to these challenges through doctrinal education, community strengthening, and a contextual approach so that its teachings remain relevant and can be practically applied in the lives of believers.

This study aims to explore the values of early Islamic education reflected in the local religious study tradition and its relevance as an alternative educational model in the contemporary era. Early Islamic education has become a primary foundation for the formation of Muslim civilization and character, emphasizing the balance between knowledge, faith, and morals. The local religious study tradition in Indonesia is a legacy of classical Islamic education that maintains spiritual, moral, and social values in community-based learning practices. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a (library research) method that focuses on exploring the concepts, values, and relevance of early Islamic education as reflected in the local religious study tradition. Primary data were obtained from classical Islamic literature such as traditional books, works of previous scholars, and historical sources related to the early Islamic education system. Meanwhile, secondary data include research results, scientific journals, academic books, and contemporary writings relevant to the theme of local religious study and modern Islamic education. The results show that local religious study contains authentic Islamic values such as sincerity, exemplary behavior, togetherness, and respect for knowledge. These values not only reflect the spirit of classical Islamic education but are also relevant for application in contemporary education systems that tend to be rational and individualistic. The local religious study tradition has the potential to become a holistic alternative educational model because it integrates cognitive, affective, and spiritual aspects within a single learning process. Therefore, revitalizing early Islamic educational values through the local religious study tradition can be a solution for shaping students' religious and social character amidst the challenges of modernization and globalization.

This study addresses citizenship justice in Indonesia amid the challenging era of globalization, focusing on the conflict between Pancasila as the state foundation and the dominant Islamic values in society. The study aims to analyze the synergy of Islamic principles—justice (ʿadl), equality (musawah), and public welfare (maslahah)—with the second and fifth principles of Pancasila to build sustainable and inclusive citizenship justice. The method used is qualitative, including content analysis and an in-depth literature review of the Qur'an, Hadith, and Pancasila documents, supplemented by semi-structured interviews with 20 experts in religion and constitutional law. The findings reveal a new conceptual framework called "Islamic Pancasila," which integrates the principle of tauhid with the value of gotong royong (mutual cooperation), reducing social polarization by up to 30% based on case simulations in multicultural areas like West Java. Islamic values provide a spiritual dimension that complements Pancasila, while Pancasila offers an inclusive nationalist framework. The study concludes that the synergy between Islamic values and Pancasila is not only a theoretical solution but also a practical strategy for realizing citizenship justice. Recommendations include integrating these values into the civic education curriculum and government policies to facilitate interfaith dialogue, strengthening national identity amid contemporary social and cultural dynamics.

Education is fundamentally a process of developing the whole person, not simply the transfer of knowledge. This research aims to examine the essence of education as an effort to humanize humans through a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature study method. This concept emphasizes that education plays a central role in developing students' potential, awareness, and human values. This study explores the thoughts of figures such as Paulo Freire, Ki Hajar Dewantara, and John Dewey, who positioned education as a path to liberation and humanity. The analysis shows that true education must be oriented toward developing human values, morals, and character to avoid becoming trapped in the process of dehumanization amidst technological developments and modernization. Through literature review and thematic analysis, this research found that humanistic education must integrate rationality, morality, and spirituality to form complete human beings. Thus, education must be understood as a continuous process of humanization to build a civilized, ethical, and just society.
