This study aims to describe the socio-economic characteristics of cattle breeders in Andolo District, South Konawe Regency. The method used is quantitative descriptive with a purposive sampling approach to 40 breeders. The results show that most breeders are of productive age (25–55 years), male, have a high school education, and have more than 10 years of livestock farming experience. The maintenance system used is comprehensive and traditional. This livestock business is a side job with an average ownership of 3 cows of their own. The annual income from large livestock businesses ranges from 5–10 million rupiah, and livestock is generally used as family savings. These findings indicate that cattle farming in this area is still subsistence and has not developed commercially.

Market structure is a fundamental element in microeconomic studies that influences the interaction between business actors and consumers. From an Islamic perspective, market structure is not only assessed based on efficiency and competition, but also prioritizes the values of justice and transparency. This study aims to examine how Islamic economic principles are applied in various forms of market structures and their implications for the behavior of economic actors. With a qualitative approach based on literature studies, this article examines the concept of justice ('adl) and openness of information as the main pillars in forming a healthy market according to Islamic law. The results of the study show that Islam encourages the creation of a free market but is still ethically controlled so that there are no practices of exploitation, price manipulation, or misleading information. This finding strengthens the importance of regulations that are in line with Islamic values in forming a sustainable economic system that is oriented towards the common good.

Societal Serve: Journal of Community Engagement and Services 2025 Pusat Riset dan Inovasi Nasional Mabadi Iqtishad Al Islami

This community service program was designed to enhance the inventory management skills of santri at Pesantren Assyifa through the use of spreadsheet technology. Many pesantren-based business units still rely on manual inventory methods, leading to inefficiencies, stock errors, and operational delays. To address this issue, a structured training program was conducted involving 25 selected santri actively engaged in the pesantren’s economic units. The program consisted of three interactive sessions covering basic inventory concepts, spreadsheet functions, and hands-on design of inventory tracking systems. Using tools like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, participants were guided to create real-time stock records, calculate inventory movement, and generate reports. The success of the training was measured through pre- and post-tests, spreadsheet project submissions, and participant feedback surveys. The results showed a 68% average increase in test scores, a 96% project completion rate, and a 4.6/5 satisfaction score. Additionally, 84% of participants applied the system directly within pesantren business units. Feedback from participants indicated high engagement, practical usefulness, and a strong desire for follow-up training. This initiative demonstrated the effectiveness of integrating digital tools into pesantren education, contributing to the development of digitally literate and economically empowered santri.

This study explores the role and relevance of Islamic political economy within the context of Indonesia's economic system, particularly in addressing wealth distribution inequality and the fulfillment of basic societal needs. The study employs a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods to examine the relationship between Islamic economic principles such as justice, balance, and social responsibility and national economic policies. The findings reveal a philosophical alignment between Islamic economic values and Indonesia’s foundational principles, especially Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. However, the implementation of these principles remains limited, often confined to microeconomic aspects like Islamic financial institutions. Islamic political parties play a significant role in advocating for sharia-compliant economic policies but face challenges in reconciling Islamic values with a pluralistic democratic system. The study highlights the need for broader public education, strong political commitment, and digital innovation to fully realize the potential of Islamic economics in building a just, inclusive, and sustainable national economy.

The digitalization of the sharia economy in Indonesia presents a great opportunity to expand financial inclusion, accelerate the transaction process, and improve the efficiency of the economic system based on Islamic values. This study aims to examine the dynamics of opportunities and challenges for the digitalization of the sharia economy amidst the development of the digital economy. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and thematic analysis techniques, this study reveals that innovations such as sharia fintech, halal e-commerce, and sharia digital banking have significantly driven the progress of the sharia economy. However, challenges such as low digital literacy, infrastructure inequality, and weak sharia-specific regulations are still major obstacles. The results of this study emphasize the importance of increasing sharia digital literacy, synergy between stakeholders, strengthening regulations, and developing competent human resources to ensure that the digitalization of the sharia economy remains in line with the principles of maqashid sharia and can develop inclusively and sustainably in Indonesia.

This study analyzes the judicial considerations in sentencing a perpetrator of money laundering originating from investment fraud, using the case of Decision Number 336/Pid.B/2023/PN Jkt.Pst as a reference. The defendant, Iwan Sabar, was proven to have employed a sophisticated scheme involving multiple fictitious entities to deceive victims and conceal the proceeds of crime. The analysis reveals that the judge applied a systematic legal and factual approach, including the principles of continuous acts (voortgezette handeling) and concursus realis between fraud and money laundering. In terms of penal objectives, the ruling reflects retributive and deterrent goals through a 10-year prison sentence and a fine of IDR 4 billion. However, rehabilitative and restorative aspects remain underdeveloped due to the absence of specific rehabilitation programs and a lack of clear mechanisms for victim compensation. Therefore, it is recommended that penal policies for economic crimes emphasize not only punishment but also victim recovery and offender reform in alignment with modern criminal justice principles.

This research aims to examine the impact of thrifting on the economic condition of clothing traders in Pasar Lasoani, to identify the factors that make thrifting a threat to these traders, to find solutions that traders can implement in facing competition with thrifted products, and to understand the Islamic economic perspective on thrifting practices in Pasar Lasoani. This study uses a qualitative research method, which is intended to describe and explain events or phenomena occurring in the field and to present data systematically, factually, and accurately regarding the facts or phenomena observed. The data for this study were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The thrifting phenomenon has had a significant impact on the economy of clothing traders in Pasar Lasoani. On the positive side, this trend has increased income for traders who sell thrifted items due to their affordable prices and attractive variety. However, on the negative side, thrifting reduces the competitiveness of new and local clothing traders, thereby creating economic imbalances in the market. The increase in secondhand clothing imports is also perceived as a threat to the demand for new products, especially due to the strong interest of young consumers in branded clothes at low prices. To improve competitiveness, new clothing traders need to implement strategies such as price adjustments, product quality improvement, utilization of digital marketing, and consumer education on the advantages of new clothing. From an Islamic economic perspective, the practice of thrifting is permissible as long as it fulfills the pillars and legal conditions of buying and selling, namely clarity of the product, mutual agreement on price, and absence of excessive gharar (uncertainty). According to the school of Imam Malik, this practice is valid if the existing gharar is minor, unavoidable, and conducted with honesty, fairness, and transparency. Therefore, thrifting transactions in Pasar Lasoani can be considered in line with the principles of sharia.

Social and economic inequality in Indonesia is a multidimensional challenge that is not only reflected in the gap in income and wealth, but also in unequal access to education, health, and economic opportunities. The conventional economic system is considered ineffective in overcoming the problem of fair distribution of wealth, thus widening the gap between the rich and the poor. This article aims to analyze the concept of distributive justice in Islamic economics as a solution to social inequality in Indonesia, by highlighting the synergy of zakat, waqf, sharia financing instruments, and the role of government and society. The method used is a systematic literature review with a qualitative-narrative approach to various related academic works. The results of the study show that the application of the principle of distributive justice in Islamic economics through the optimization of zakat, waqf, and alms, as well as strengthening sharia economic regulations and literacy, can reduce social inequality and improve community welfare. The implementation of an inclusive and sustainable Islamic distribution model can reduce the Gini coefficient and strengthen social solidarity, although it still faces challenges in terms of regulation, literacy, and institutional coordination. The conclusion of the study confirms that Islamic economics offers concrete and holistic solutions to overcome social inequality in Indonesia through the integration of divine values, community participation, and state policies that support distributive justice.

This study examines the economic thought of Abu Ubaid al-Qasim bin Sallam as presented in his seminal work Kitab al-Amwal, with a particular focus on public finance within the framework of Islamic economics. Abu Ubaid emphasized the importance of distributive justice and the balance between individual rights, society, and the state in managing public wealth. He outlined various fiscal instruments such as zakat, kharaj, jizyah, fa’i, ‘usyur, and khumus as sources of state revenue that must be administered in accordance with sharia principles. In addition, his views on agrarian policies (such as iqtha’, ihya al-mawat, and hima) and the function of money demonstrate a strong relevance to a just and sustainable modern economic system. This research employs a qualitative approach using literature review as its primary method. The findings reveal that Abu Ubaid’s economic concepts are not only contextually relevant to the Abbasid era but also remain applicable in addressing contemporary challenges in public finance and wealth distribution, particularly in strengthening zakat governance in Indonesia.

Entrepreneurs in the digital era face constant challenges that require adaptation and innovation. Although economic and managerial factors are often the focus, the role of psychological dimensions such as resilience and creativity in entrepreneurial success has not been widely reviewed in depth. This study aims to examine relevant theories and findings on psychological resilience and creativity in the context of entrepreneurship, and to build a conceptual framework to support entrepreneurial innovation. Using a qualitative literature study method, this study systematically searches, analyzes, and synthesizes scientific literature from various databases. The results of the synthesis indicate that psychological resilience is crucial for entrepreneurs to recover from failure and adapt to change. Characteristics such as optimism and emotional regulation are the pillars of mental resilience. Meanwhile, creativity is an innovation engine that facilitates the identification of new opportunities and the development of unique solutions. A synergistic relationship between resilience and creativity is also found: resilience provides a psychological buffer for taking creative risks, and the creative process can strengthen self-resilience. The theoretical implication is the need for a more holistic entrepreneurship model. In practice, this study recommends educational institutions, especially the Faculty of Psychology, to integrate the development of resilience and creativity into the entrepreneurship curriculum.

This studyaims to examine the economic activities of low-income communities and identify factors that influence these activities in Tamaila Utara Village,Tolangohula Sub-district,Gorontalo Regency. The study employed a qualitative method using a systematic approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interview, and source triangulation.Data analysis involved data reduction followed by drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that most low-income residents in Tamaila Utara rely on agriculture, particularly corn farming, as their primary livelihood. Farming activities are supported by family members due to limited financial capacity to hire labor, and the tools used are still very simple or traditional. For crop distribution, the community depends on local traders who offer prices significantly lower than market rates, due to limited transportation access to larger markets. In terms of consumption, residents can only meet their basic needs, with low nutritional intake due to minimal income. Other challenges to improving the local economy include water scarcity during the dry season, low educational attainment among farmers, lack of government-provided training, and unpredictable weather and environmental conditions. Therefore, government support is urgently needed, such as irrigation development, agricultural training, and the provision of modern tools or technology to enhance community welfare in the future.

This study aims to examine the contribution of Abu Yusuf's thoughts in public financial governance and its relationship with the state financial system in Indonesia. In his famous work, Kitab al-Kharaj, Abu Yusuf revealed the principles of public economy based on Islamic values, such as justice in the distribution of wealth, transparency in tax management, and the responsibility of the state in ensuring the welfare of the people. This research approach is qualitative with a literature study method, utilizing classical and contemporary literature sources that discuss financial ideas according to Abu Yusuf and compare them with the Indonesian system. The analysis shows that Abu Yusuf's ideas, such as the proportional tax system (muqasamah), the prohibition of corruption in tax management (taqbil), and the state's responsibility in development, are still relevant to the principles of Indonesian public finance today. Therefore, his thoughts can be used as a normative reference in building a fair, open, and welfare-oriented state financial system.

Considering the current data-driven policies, economic disparities across metropolitan areas are an important factor to consider. This study focuses on a comparative analysis between the K-MEANS and DBSCAN algorithms in the process of clustering residents in Pulo Brayan Darat 1 Village, taking into account the economic conditions of each individual. Through this study, it is hoped that the more optimal algorithm for categorizing the community based on their economic well-being can be identified. A survey was used to collect data, including questions about income, number of children, and type of employment. The timing of implementation, interpretation of clustering findings, and the Silhouette Index were all used in the evaluation process. It is clear from the findings that DBSCAN can identify outliers and adapt better to irregular data patterns, while K-MEANS is faster and creates more organized clusters. This research offers lessons for policymakers in developing focused community welfare development programmers, which also aids in selecting an appropriate clustering system for socio-economic data.

Economic distribution is one of the important topics in Islamic economics because it is related to the equality and welfare of the community. This article discusses distribution instruments from the point of view of capitalist and Islamic economics. Capitalism popularized by Adam Smith emphasized individual freedom in asset ownership, but it often led to inequality and poverty. In contrast, Islamic economics emphasizes justice and the equitable distribution of wealth according to religious principles. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review. This research reaches the conclusion that an Islamic economic system should be established, which emphasizes the value of justice in property as well as human freedoms and actions in accordance with religious teachings.
