The Baduy community in Kanekes Village has economic potential based on traditional crafts with high cultural value, such as weaving and woven fabrics. However, the management of craft businesses is still carried out in a simple manner without a structured human resource (HR) management system. Problems faced include the lack of a clear division of tasks, inefficient production processes, and limited marketing strategies. These conditions hamper the optimal development of craft businesses. This community service activity aims to strengthen human resource management based on local wisdom in order to increase the capacity of traditional craft businesses in the Baduy community. The solution offered is training and mentoring on simple business management adapted to traditional values. Activities include socializing the importance of HR management, training on the division of labor within groups, improving production skills, and developing marketing strategies that respect local wisdom. The implementation method uses a participatory approach through the stages of preparation, training, mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability. The community is actively involved in every stage of the activity to ensure the program's suitability to local socio-cultural conditions. This activity results in increased human resource capacity in craft business management, the establishment of a more organized work system, and an increased economic value of craft products. In addition, this activity is expected to produce a community empowerment model based on local wisdom and scientific publications in community service journals.

Bhinneka: Jurnal Bintang Pendidikan dan Bahasa 2026 Universitas Palan

This research aims to analyze how gender and culture are represented in the Grade VIII Indonesian language textbook of the Merdeka Curriculum. The focus is on various aspects of gender representation, such as the depiction of characters, their roles, activities, attributes, social status, gender equality, and stereotypes related to gender. Additionally, the study explores cultural representation, which encompasses cultural forms, diversity, local traditions, context, ways of presentation, and the cultural values expressed in the textbook's texts and illustrations. The methodology employed is descriptive qualitative research with a content analysis framework. Data were gathered through documenting and note-taking methods on the content of the textbook, followed by an analysis process that includes identification, classification, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. Findings indicate that the gender representation in the textbook predominantly portrays men as leading figures in public roles, leadership, and decision-making, whereas women are mainly shown in nurturing, domestic, and supportive capacities. On the other hand, the cultural representation illustrates the variety of Indonesian culture by showcasing regional customs, languages, art forms, traditional cuisine, practices, and societal norms. The study concludes that although the textbook presents cultural diversity adequately, there is a need for improvement in gender representation balance to better reflect equality values in the educational experience.

To address the negative impacts of teenage romantic relationships on peer dynamics and academic achievement at SMP Negeri 5 Sipahutar, school authorities implemented a regulation prohibiting dating, in line with Pancasila character education principles. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of this policy on fostering positive social behavior among ninth-grade students. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach and involved 81 students as respondents. Data were collected using a four-level multiple-choice agreement questionnaire consisting of ten items. The analysis results showed a total score of 2707, a mean score of 33.42, a standard deviation of 4.8, and an average scale score of 3.34. The findings revealed that 78.2% of students agreed that the regulation encouraged peer cooperation, improved discipline in obeying school rules, and supported effective group learning. In addition, the policy appeared to contribute to a more positive school environment by reducing distractions associated with adolescent dating behavior. These findings indicate that school-based regulations can play an important role in shaping adolescent character and social behavior based on national values. Therefore, such policies may serve as an effective preventive strategy for educational institutions that aim to strengthen character education and promote responsible student conduct.

This study aims to analyze the position of customary law in the new Criminal Code and the integration of restorative justice in resolving criminal cases in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative approach with normative juridical research through legislative and conceptual approaches. The results indicate that the new Criminal Code recognizes living law, including customary law, as part of the national legal system. However, its status remains complementary and subordinate to state law. The integration of restorative justice into the criminal justice system is a progressive step that emphasizes restoring relationships between perpetrators, victims, and the community. This approach aligns with customary law values ​​that prioritize deliberation, balance, and social harmony. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, such as unclear regulations, limited official capacity, and potential conflicts with human rights principles. Therefore, regulatory strengthening, procedural standardization, and institutional capacity building are needed to ensure the integration of customary law and restorative justice can be implemented effectively, fairly, and sustainably within the Indonesian criminal justice system.

Student cooperatives in Islamic boarding schools are no longer merely understood as business units providing daily necessities, but have developed into socio-economic spaces that shape independence, trust, and Islamic entrepreneurship education among students. This study is motivated by the limited number of studies examining pesantren cooperatives as socio-religious processes that cultivate values of trustworthiness, responsibility, transparency, and cooperation in students’ daily lives. The study aims to explain the empirical practices of student involvement in cooperative management, the social relations formed through economic activities in pesantren, and their implications for Islamic entrepreneurship education and the strengthening of pesantren economic independence. This research employed a qualitative approach with a field study method conducted at Pondok Pesantren Modern Elfira 2 Purwokerto. Data were collected through observation, interviews with cooperative administrators and student managers, and documentation of financial reports and cooperative operational activities. The findings reveal that students are directly involved in managing goods inventory, customer service, digital financial recording, and the distribution of daily necessities within the pesantren environment. These practices foster values of trustworthiness, transparency, responsibility, and cooperation through supervision systems, work shift arrangements, and daily evaluations. In addition to strengthening the pesantren’s economy, the cooperative also functions as a medium for experiential Islamic entrepreneurship learning. This article contributes to the sociology of Islamic education by demonstrating that student cooperatives function as socio-economic laboratories that shape students’ independence, social trust, and Islamic entrepreneurial ethics within the everyday life of pesantren communities.

The quick advancement of digital technology has drastically changed the social and religious life of Indonesian teenagers. The purpose of this study is to investigate how pupils at Al Muslim Junior High School's daily worship practices, self-control, and fear of missing out (FoMO) affect the principles of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The study used a quantitative methodology with a causal and correlational design. All students in grades VII, VIII, and IX made up the study population for the 2025–2026 school year. Using the Slovin formula, a proportionate stratified sample of 171 students with a 5% margin of error was chosen. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was used to gather data. The Pearson Product-Moment correlation (r > 0.30) was used to evaluate validity, while Cronbach's Alpha (α > 0.70) was used to test reliability. Multiple linear regression using SPSS version 26 was used for quantitative analysis, beginning with traditional assumption tests for heteroscedasticity (Glejser), multicollinearity (VIF), and normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov). According to the analysis results, self-control had a substantial, favorable impact on the practice of PAI values, but FoMO had no significant influence (β = -0.034, p = 0.530).

Saparan Tradition is one of the cultural traditions that is still preserved by the people of Dusun Krangkeng. This tradition functions not only as an annual customary ritual but also as a medium for instilling character values in the younger generation. This study aims to describe the forms of preservation of the Saparan Tradition and to identify the character values embedded within it. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included community leaders, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and young people involved in the Saparan Tradition. The results show that the preservation of the Saparan Tradition is carried out through active community involvement in every stage of the activities, from preparation and the main event to the closing ceremony. This tradition embodies strong character values, including harmony, mutual cooperation, religiosity, responsibility, and love for local culture. These values are directly instilled through social practices and the active participation of the younger generation in traditional activities. Thus, the Saparan Tradition plays a strategic role as a means of character education based on local culture, which remains relevant in facing the challenges of modernization. This study aims to analyze the influence of a halal lifestyle on consumer preferences in selecting Sharia-compliant retail products. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review method, reviewing various empirical and conceptual studies published between 2017 and 2025. The analysis focused on the relationship between halal awareness, religiosity, ethical consumption values, and Muslim consumer behavior in making choices about Sharia-compliant retail products and services. The results indicate that a halal lifestyle is viewed not only as a form of compliance with Islamic law but also as a social identity and a modern consumption pattern that influences consumer purchasing decisions. Consumers with high levels of halal awareness and religiosity tend to have a greater preference for Sharia-compliant retail products that guarantee halal certification, quality, transparency, and ethical values ​​in their business processes. Furthermore, trust, Islamic brand image, and marketing strategies based on Islamic values ​​contribute to strengthening consumer loyalty to Sharia-compliant retail. This research provides managerial implications for Sharia-compliant retail businesses to develop innovative, educational, and tailored marketing strategies to meet the halal lifestyle needs of modern Muslims.

Culture and traditions in Southwest Maluku contain a wealth of local wisdom that serves as a social glue, one of which is reflected in the use of the greeting Kalwedo. This greeting is not just a mere pleasantry, but has a very strong meaning in presenting the values ​​of brotherhood and local wisdom of the people of Southwest Maluku. This study shows several things, including, this study aims to interpret the antagonistic meaning of the greeting Kalwedo as a symbol of brotherhood by using the hermeneutic approach of Hans-Georg Gadamer. The research method used is qualitative descriptive-analysis. Data analysis was carried out through three hermeneutic movements, namely phenomenology, reconstruction, and dialogue. The results of the study show that Kalwedo contains the meaning of "we are together" or "we are one" which means emphasizing the unity of existence between the greeter and the greeted. Based on Gadamer's perspective, this meaning is formed from the fusion of horizons, namely between the past and the present, where the tradition will remain alive and meaningful in the contemporary context. The Kalwedo greeting serves as a medium for erasing barriers of difference, strengthening bonds of brotherhood, and building awareness of an inclusive collective identity. In conclusion, Kalwedo is a manifestation of wirkungsgeschichte (influential history) that continuously shapes and maintains social harmony amidst the dynamics of community life in Southwest Maluku.

This study aims to examine how nepotism can manifest through the role of informal institutions and its influence on administrative integrity within the bureaucracy. The method used is literature analysis by examining various related scientific references, such as books, journal articles, and research, which are then analyzed descriptively and analytically through identification, classification, and data integration. The research findings indicate that nepotism does not only arise from weaknesses in the official system, but is also strongly influenced by the existence of informal institutions such as personal networks, social norms, and organizational culture. This practice tends to persist within a system because it gains social recognition, making it difficult to overcome solely with regulations. The consequences include a decline in employee professionalism, weak accountability, and erosion of administrative integrity, which impacts on reduced public trust in government institutions. The implications of this study indicate that a comprehensive approach is crucial in bureaucratic reform, through strengthening the official system and changing organizational cultural values ​​to produce transparent, accountable, and dignified government management.

This study aims to describe the intrinsic structure and analyze the psychological aspects of the main characters in the three short stories based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. The research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data sources are texts from three satua cutet in the Nimbang Rasa anthology: I Kucil by I Komang Tri Nanda Defhayana, Idup Lara by Ni Wayan Esa Juliantini, and Pajalan Keneh by Ni Putu Ayu Ari Astiti. Results show that the intrinsic structure of all three stories employs a linear plot, with themes of diligence, perseverance, and courage. Psychological analysis based on Freud's id, ego, and superego theory reveals that I Kucil is dominated by id impulses in the form of aggressive emotion due to injustice; Ani demonstrates a strong ego in withstanding social pressure and a firm superego in upholding moral values; while Gékyu shows a balance between ego and superego when facing abuse from a teacher. This research is expected to serve as a reference in Balinese literary studies, particularly in the field of literary psychology.

Surau is the oldest traditional Islamic educational institution in Minangkabau and played an important role in the development of Islamic education in Indonesia before the twentieth century. This study is motivated by the modern shift in understanding the function of surau, which is often viewed merely as a place of worship, whereas historically it possessed broader educational, social, and cultural functions. The research aims to analyze the origins and transformation of surau, identify the roles of influential figures in its development, and examine its social functions within Minangkabau society. This study employs a qualitative approach using the historical research method through library research based on various primary and secondary sources. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography to produce a systematic and factual historical account. The findings reveal that surau transformed from a Hindu-Buddhist ritual center into an Islamic educational institution that functioned as a center for religious instruction, character building, intellectual development, and social integration. Figures such as Syekh Burhanuddin Ulakan, Tuanku Nan Tuo, and Syekh Muhammad Djamil Djambek made significant contributions to the reform and development of the surau educational system. In addition, surau also served as a center for community deliberation, a residence for young men, and a space for moral and cultural development. The study implies that surau became an important foundation in shaping the Islamic educational system in the Nusantara by harmoniously integrating religious values, local culture, and social life.

This article examines the leadership of Bu Nyai at Al-Azhar Azzayadiyah Islamic Boarding School as a representation of gender equality within traditional Islamic educational institutions. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies as data collection techniques. The research focuses on how Bu Nyai exercises leadership authority within a pesantren environment that has long been influenced by patriarchal values.\n\nThe findings reveal that Bu Nyai’s leadership is not only cultural and spiritual in nature, but also reflects the transformation of women’s roles within Islamic boarding schools. In carrying out her leadership, Bu Nyai applies charismatic, transformational, and value-based leadership styles grounded in Islamic teachings on justice and equality. This leadership is reflected in her ability to guide students, manage educational activities, build harmonious social relationships, and motivate members of the pesantren community.\n\nFurthermore, the presence of Bu Nyai as a leader demonstrates that women possess equal capabilities in developing Islamic educational institutions. The findings of this study provide important contributions to the development of gender studies in Islamic education in Indonesia, particularly regarding the strategic role of women in pesantren leadership.

This article discusses the relevance of the concept of the bonum commune (the common good) in the thought of Thomas Aquinas as a moral foundation in the era of digital disruption. The era of digital disruption is characterised by profound changes in the way humans live, interact, and utilise technology. Amidst these developments, a weak moral foundation has led to a lack of technological orientation towards the common good. Without a fundamental moral foundation, technology will be directed solely towards profitability, disregarding human values and fostering an individualistic society. This study employs a qualitative method based on a literature review, analysed through a hermeneutic reading of Aquinas’s principal work, the *Summa Theologica*, as well as literature on digital ethics. The results of the study indicate that the bonum commune is a fundamental ethical principle that can guide the use of digital technology towards justice, social responsibility, and the common good.

Soybean is an important food commodity in Indonesia because it is the main raw material for tofu and tempeh, two major protein sources widely consumed by the population. However, domestic soybean production remains far below national demand resulting in heavy dependence on imports. In contrast maize is increasingly preferred by farmers due to its higher productivity and a more stable economic value. Therefore, maize–soybean intercropping has emerged as a promising strategy to improve land-use efficiency while increasing soybean production without reducing maize cultivation. This study systematically mapped and synthesized maize–soybean intercropping research in Indonesia and conducted a meta-analysis of Land Equivalent Ratio LER values reported across studies. Literature searches using Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar identified 179 eligible publications published between 1978 and 2023. Most studies focused on agronomic factors such as variety selection spacing arrangement and fertilizer management. Meta-analysis showed average LER values of 1.47 ± 0.046 for maize–soybean intercropping and 1.36 ± 0.081 for maize–mung bean intercropping indicating advantages over monoculture systems. However, inconsistencies in methodology and reporting standards limited study comparability and sustainability assessments. Future research should integrate ecological, social, and long-term economic indicators alongside standardized reporting frameworks to strengthen evidence-based intercropping recommendations nationally for sustainable agriculture.

This study aims to examine the traces of acculturation between Islam and local culture in Margorejo Village, Kerek District, Tuban Regency. The research is based on the understanding that the spread of Islam in Indonesia occurred peacefully, persuasively, and adaptively, allowing Islamic teachings to interact harmoniously with local traditions without eliminating existing cultural identities. This process produced forms of religious culture that combine Islamic values with local customs and continue to be preserved by the community. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews with religious leaders, community leaders, and local residents, as well as documentation of religious and social traditions. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that acculturation is reflected in the tradition of pilgrimage to the tomb of Sheikh Ahmad Subaqir or Mbah Mboja, who is regarded as an important figure in spreading Islam in the region. The pilgrimage serves not only as a spiritual activity but also as a means of strengthening social solidarity. Another form of acculturation appears in the “sedekah bumi” or “manganan” tradition, which expresses gratitude for agricultural harvests and community welfare. The study concludes that Islam and local culture in Margorejo coexist harmoniously and contribute to strengthening religiosity, social solidarity, and cultural preservation.

Educational dualism is a phenomenon that emerged in the Indonesian education system since the Dutch colonial era, which separated Western education from indigenous education. Western education introduced by the colonial government was more oriented towards colonial administrative and economic interests, and was generally intended for Europeans and indigenous elites such as the priyayi class. Meanwhile, indigenous communities widely developed religious-based education through Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) institutions that gave birth to communities of santri (Islamic students). This study aims to analyze the forms of educational dualism in the early 20th century by reviewing three developing educational models: European education, priyayi education, and santri education. The method used is a literature study by examining various books, scientific journals, and historical sources relevant to the development of education during the colonial period. The results of the study indicate that European education functioned as a means of developing an educated workforce that supported the colonial administration, while priyayi education became a path of social mobility for indigenous elites who acted as intermediaries between the colonial government and society. On the other hand, santri education through Islamic boarding schools developed independently and played an important role in maintaining religious values and the cultural identity of the community. Thus, the dualism of education during the colonial period not only reflected the inequality of access to education, but also shaped the social structure and intellectual dynamics of Indonesian society in the early 20th century.

This study analyzes the reconstruction of Human Rights (HR) in Indonesia through the integration of Pancasila values and Islamic Religious Education (IRE) within the framework of Islamic Sociological Jurisprudence. In the Indonesian context, human rights are not merely perceived as universal individual liberties, but are understood within broader philosophical, religious, and socio-cultural dimensions. Pancasila functions as the foundational framework that harmonizes individual rights with social responsibilities, while Islamic teachings provide normative and theological foundations through principles such as maqasid al-shari‘ah, justice (‘adl), and human dignity (karamah insaniyyah), as well as Qur’anic values of tolerance and moderation (tasamuh and wasatiyyah). This research adopts a qualitative method with a descriptive approach based on literature review, drawing upon various scholarly sources related to human rights, Islamic education, and sociological jurisprudence. The findings reveal that the integration of Pancasila and Islamic Religious Education generates a comprehensive understanding of human rights that is both normative and contextual. Moreover, empirical findings indicate that a deeper comprehension of Qur’anic teachings on tolerance is positively correlated with the development of moderate and inclusive attitudes, thereby highlighting the significant role of education in internalizing human rights values. Additionally, the historical transition from pre-Islamic (Jahiliyyah) society to the Islamic era demonstrates that Islamic teachings function as an agent of social transformation by promoting justice, equality, and the protection of marginalized groups. From the perspective of Islamic Sociological Jurisprudence, law is viewed as a dynamic system that must remain responsive to evolving social conditions, ensuring that the reconstruction of human rights remains relevant and adaptable. In conclusion, the synergy between Pancasila values, Islamic teachings, and sociological legal approaches contributes to the formation of a more inclusive, balanced, and culturally grounded human rights paradigm in Indonesia.

This study examines the integration of Al-Farabi’s and Ibn Khaldun’s values into the reconceptualization of Civic Education (PKn) in Indonesia. Civic Education has often been criticized for its normative orientation, which lacks relevance to the multicultural realities and democratic challenges of contemporary society. The objective of this research is to construct a conceptual framework that combines Al-Farabi’s emphasis on rationality, morality, and human perfection with Ibn Khaldun’s focus on social solidarity (asabiyyah) and adaptability to societal change. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research design, this study analyzes classical and contemporary literature to identify the relevance of these contributions to PKn. The findings reveal that integrating Al-Farabi’s moral dimension and Ibn Khaldun’s social dimension enriches the ethical, spiritual, and civic aspects of PKn, while aligning with the foundational values of Pancasila. This integration offers a transformative model of PKn that not only develops cognitive competence but also nurtures moral integrity, social justice, and civic engagement. The implication is that PKn can serve as a holistic instrument for shaping citizens who are intellectually critical, ethically responsible, and socially cohesive. Nevertheless, the limitation of this study lies in its conceptual nature, as empirical testing has not yet been conducted, suggesting the need for further applied research to validate the proposed model.

This study aims to examine the existence of dayah as a traditional Islamic educational institution in Aceh in facing the challenges of modernization, as well as to analyze its history, curriculum, and the dynamics of educational transformation within it. This research employs a qualitative approach through library research by collecting data from various sources such as books, scientific journals, research articles, and documents relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that dayah is one of the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Aceh that developed since the early spread of Islam in the Indonesian archipelago and has played an important role in the dissemination of Islamic teachings, moral development, and the formation of social life within the community. The educational system in dayah focuses on the study of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning) and Islamic sciences through traditional learning methods such as halaqah, religious book studies, and direct learning with teungku or Islamic scholars. Over time, dayah institutions have undergone various transformations through the integration of general subjects, curriculum reform, and improvements in educational management systems in order to remain relevant to modern societal needs. Modernization presents challenges for dayah, particularly in maintaining a balance between tradition and educational innovation. Nevertheless, dayah continues to preserve its Islamic identity while gradually adapting to contemporary developments. Therefore, dayah not only survives as a traditional educational institution but also develops into an adaptive and relevant Islamic educational institution that continues to play a significant role in shaping character and religious values in Acehnese society.
