Adolescent girls represent a population that commonly experiences primary dysmenorrhea. Inadequate dietary habits may contribute to inflammatory responses, while low levels of physical activity can reduce the body’s natural pain regulation, both of which may intensify menstrual pain. This study aimed to analyze the association between dietary habits and physical activity with the severity of primary dysmenorrhea among adolescent girls. A quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. Participants were selected using proportional random sampling, involving 71 eleventh-grade students at SMAN 6 Malang. Dietary intake was assessed using a FFQ, physical activity levels were measured through the PAL indicator, and dysmenorrhea severity was evaluated using the WaLIDD score. The results showed that nearly half of the respondents had adequate dietary habits (49.3%) and moderate physical activity levels (47.9%), while most participants experienced moderate primary dysmenorrhea (53.5%). Statistical analysis using Somers’ d and Gamma tests yielded p-values of 0.039 and <0.001, indicating significant associations between dietary habits, physical activity, and dysmenorrhea severity. Correlation analysis demonstrated a moderate inverse relationship between dietary habits and dysmenorrhea severity (r = −0.301) and a strong association between physical activity and dysmenorrhea severity (r = 0.690).

Anemia is a micronutrient deficiency problem that is common in various parts of the world. Indonesia is one of the countries with a high anemia rate. According to the 2024 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the anemia rate in adolescent girls reached 32%. Breakfast habits and consumption of iron supplements affect daily nutritional intake. Low hemoglobin levels occur due to infrequent iron supplement consumption and inadequate food intake, resulting in a lack of iron stores in the body. The purpose of this study was to encourage adolescent girls to continue maintaining good habits of consuming iron supplements and having a healthy breakfast. This study used a quantitative analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design. The target population was female students of SMPN 1 Nibong. The study was conducted at SMPN 1 Nibong. The sample was obtained using a cluster random sampling technique of 50 respondents. The results of the chi-square test showed a strong association between breakfast habits and the risk of anemia, with a p-value of 0.000, which is far below 0.05, so technically significant. In essence, breakfast habits and blood supplement consumption have been shown to influence the risk of anemia in adolescent girls at SMPN 1 Nibong. The school is expected to promote understanding of nutrition and the importance of breakfast and blood supplement consumption, as well as motivate students to eat breakfast and consume blood supplement tablets regularly.

Premarital sexual behavior among adolescents is a reproductive health problem influenced by various internal and external factors. The Health Belief Model (HBM) is used as a framework to understand this behavior, but previous research findings still show varying results. This study aims to analyze the contribution of the Health Belief Model components to premarital sexual behavior among adolescents based on the results of local research for the period 2020-2025. The method used was a literature review of relevant journal articles and scientific papers. The results showed that perceived vulnerability, perceived barriers, self-efficacy, and external cues to action such as media exposure and peer influence were variables that were consistently related to the main/dominant predictors of external cues to action, while perceived severity and perceived benefits showed inconsistent relationships. This study confirms that adolescent premarital sexual behavior is influenced by the interaction between cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental factors, thus requiring comprehensive and contextual reproductive health interventions.
