The emergence of smartphone technology has brought significant changes to the world of education while simultaneously creating new challenges for teachers. This study aims to identify and analyze the challenges teachers face in the learning process following the widespread use of smartphones by students. The method used was a literature review, examining various sources on digital learning, student behavior, and the impact of technology on the educational process. The results indicate that teachers face various challenges, including student concentration disruptions due to entertainment content, over-reliance on technology, student access to age-inappropriate content, lack of parental supervision, unequal access to devices, and the emergence of digital ethics issues such as social media misuse and cyberbullying. These conditions require teachers to have stronger digital competencies, adaptive classroom management skills, and pedagogical strategies that balance technology use with character building and healthy digital discipline. To address these challenges, four main strategies can be implemented: enhancing digital competence, integrating character values in technology use, innovating learning methods, and building collaboration among teachers in designing digital learning.

This study examines Christian ethics in responding to the moral crisis of young people in the digital era. The development of social media, algorithmic culture, and the attention economy has shaped how young people construct identity, manage desire, build relationships, and make moral decisions. The central issue explored in this study is not merely digital misconduct, such as hoaxes, cyberbullying, pornography, self-display culture, and social media addiction, but the fracture of Christian self-awareness that separates faith from everyday digital practices. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method through library research and theological-ethical analysis. The data were analyzed through thematic reduction, categorization of digital moral issues, and interpretation based on Christian ethical principles. The findings show that the digital moral crisis must be understood as a problem of identity, desire formation, and character development. Therefore, this study constructs a model of digital Christian ethics consisting of digital moral literacy, digital character discipline, digital discipleship community, and digital witness. The implication is that families, churches, and Christian educational institutions must develop systematic, contextual, and transformative digital ethics formation.

This study examines the theological foundations of pastoral counseling in Christian Religious Education (CRE) within the digital era, emphasizing the integration of Trinitarian theology, adolescent developmental psychology, and the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19–20. Digitalization has reshaped adolescent struggles, introducing challenges such as cyberbullying, social media addiction, and virtual identity crises that demand contextual and transformative pastoral responses. Using a qualitative library research approach, this study synthesizes systematic theology, developmental psychology, and transformative pedagogy to construct a conceptual framework for CRE teachers in guiding the digital generation. Findings reveal that Trinitarian theology provides a holistic foundation: God the Father affirms authentic identity beyond digital validation, Christ the Redeemer restores identity from digital trauma, and the Holy Spirit guides character formation for wise engagement in the digital world. Integrating theology with developmental psychology enables a deeper understanding of the digital generation’s struggles and highlights the need for both theological depth and psychological insight. The proposed framework includes five components: Trinitarian foundation, contextual diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, supportive community formation, and the use of digital media as a ministry tool. This integrative and transformative model aims to foster holistic transformation—cognitive, affective, behavioral, and spiritual—preparing adolescents to become mature disciples who bear witness to Christ in digital spaces.

This study aims to investigate the impact of Instagram social media use on deviant behavior among students at Campus 3 of Mercu Buana University in Yogyakarta. The phenomenon of increased intensity of social media use among students is the main basis of this study, in which Instagram not only functions as an instrument of communication and self-expression, but also as a medium that has the potential to trigger various forms of deviant behavior, such as cyberbullying, self-image manipulation, and social norm violations. The research method used integrates quantitative methods with descriptive design and simple linear regression analysis. Data was collected through a survey distributed to 100 active student participants, whose sample was determined using a simple random sampling method. Validity and reliability tests showed that all research instruments met the criteria for validity and reliability, as reflected in a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.946. The relationship between Instagram and deviant behavior among students is represented by the regression equation Y = 2.300X + 0.641. These findings indicate that an increase in the frequency of Instagram use correlates with an increase in the potential for students to adopt deviant behavior. It is hoped that this study can serve as a basis for improving digital literacy and educating students on the ethical use of social media in a university environment.

Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right, yet it is not absolute, as it may be restricted under certain conditions in accordance with international law, such as the protection of reputation, national security, and public order. In Indonesia, this right is guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and its derivative regulations. However, the rapid development of information and communication technology has reshaped the landscape of public discourse. The digital space, while facilitating easier access to and dissemination of information, also presents challenges, including hate speech, misinformation, cyberbullying, and the potential for criminalization due to ambiguous regulations. To respond to these challenges, the Regional Board of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah (PDNA) Semarang organized a community service program in the form of a public dialogue titled “Freedom of Speech: Between Rights and Risks” on August 9, 2025, at the Hall of the Central Java Provincial Archives and Library Service. This activity was carried out through a participatory approach by academics who are also members of PDNA, together with the PDNA Semarang board. Two speakers were presented, Dr. Mochamad Riyanto, S.H., M.Si., a legal expert from Universitas 17 Agustus (Untag) Semarang, and Aris Mulyawan, Chair of the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Semarang. The dialogue produced three main findings: first, the need for legal awareness so that freedom of expression does not lead individuals into legal problems; second, the importance of digital literacy to reduce the spread of hoaxes and hate speech; and third, the urgency of building safe digital spaces through collaboration among communities, media, and educational institutions. The discussion emphasizes that freedom of expression in the digital era must be understood as both a right and a responsibility, requiring a fair regulatory ecosystem and continuous digital literacy enhancement

Education plays a fundamental role in shaping character, developing personality, and exploring students' potential. Schools should ideally be safe, comfortable, and conducive spaces for student growth and development. However, reality shows that the school environment is still vulnerable to negative behaviors such as bullying and sexual violence. Bullying is understood as aggressive behavior carried out repeatedly with the aim of harming the victim, whether through physical, verbal, social, or online media (cyberbullying). Meanwhile, sexual violence includes various forms of sexual acts without the victim's consent, which have serious impacts on psychological, social, and academic achievement. Sexual violence in schools not only harms the victims physically but also leaves deep psychological scars that may affect their future. To respond to this problem, KKM Group 30 Bina Bangsa University conducted a socialization activity entitled "Stop Bullying and Sexual Violence" at SMAN X, District Y. The main objective of this activity was to provide in-depth understanding, build awareness, and encourage mutual respect in the school environment. The outreach was conducted through several methods, including presentations by resource persons, educational drama performances depicting real-life cases, and interactive question-and-answer sessions involving active student participation. Interactive sessions are essential to engage students and encourage them to express their thoughts openly. The results of the activities demonstrated high student enthusiasm, increased understanding of the forms and impacts of bullying and sexual violence, and a growing awareness to report victims or witnesses. These activities emphasized that prevention is not solely the responsibility of schools but also requires collaboration between students, teachers, parents, and the wider community. This creates a safe, comfortable learning environment free from all forms of violence.

The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to social, economic, and political life in Indonesia. However, the complex and rapidly changing dynamics of cyberspace present major challenges in statute, personal data protection, disinformation, and cybersecurity. Unfortunately, the existing regulatory framework is still sectoral and has not yet responded holistically to the various digital issues that arise. This fragmented approach often leads to overlapping authorities, inconsistent enforcement, and gaps in addressing emerging cyber threats. Therefore, the establishment of the National Digital Commission is urgently needed as an independent institution tasked with coordinating, formulating, and overseeing digital policies in an integrated and systematic manner. This commission should consist of multidisciplinary experts in law, technology, and public policy, ensuring balanced perspectives in policy formulation. In addition, it should serve as a bridge between the government, the private sector, and civil society to facilitate inclusive and transparent digital governance. The National Digital Commission is expected to ensure cyberspace governance that is responsive to technological developments while maintaining digital resilience. It must also actively promote digital literacy, ethical online behavior, and responsible use of social media platforms to combat hoaxes and hate speech. Furthermore, the commission must strengthen Indonesia’s cybersecurity infrastructure to protect national interests and uphold the rights of its citizens in the digital space. By creating a unified regulatory framework and robust oversight mechanism, Indonesia can build a safer and more democratic digital ecosystem. This effort is essential in reinforcing accountability, defending cybersecurity, advancing democracy, ensuring governance, and safeguarding innovation in the face of rapid digital transformation.

Bullying is a recurring issue and has become a widespread concern, particularly among children and adolescents in school environments. Schools, which should ideally be safe spaces for learning, building friendships, and experiencing personal growth, often turn into places of fear and psychological distress for some students. This is largely due to the frequent violation of human rights (HR) that often goes unaddressed or is underestimated. Bullying can take many forms, including verbal, psychological, physical abuse, and increasingly, cyberbullying. Each of these forms can cause serious harm not only to the victims—who may suffer from emotional and mental trauma—but also to the perpetrators, who may experience long-term psychological consequences and develop deviant or aggressive behavior patterns. In Indonesia, bullying remains a significant issue and a major concern in the education sector. Nearly every school has faced incidents of bullying in one form or another. Cyberbullying, in particular, is harder to monitor and control since it often occurs outside the school’s jurisdiction and is carried out through social media platforms. Efforts to tackle bullying must go beyond merely protecting and supporting the victims. A comprehensive approach is necessary, one that also focuses on preventive education. Students, teachers, and parents must be consistently educated on the negative impacts of bullying, the importance of empathy, and a deeper understanding of human rights. Moreover, strict and clear sanctions must be imposed on perpetrators as a form of legal enforcement and deterrence. With a holistic strategy that involves all elements of the school and the wider community, it is hoped that educational institutions can truly become safe, inclusive, and supportive environments. Such conditions are essential for fostering not only academic growth but also the psychological well-being and character development of the nation's children.

The phenomenon of bullying among teenagers is an increasing and complex social problem, not only occurring in everyday life but also widely represented through mass media, one of which is teen drama. One popular media that highlights this issue is My Nerd Girl Season 1, which shows the reality of bullying in its various forms. The main character, Rea, is depicted as a victim of bullying who experiences verbal, emotional, and social pressure from her environment. This representation illustrates that bullying is not just an individual act, but part of a social construction that is full of meaning. This study aims to explore how bullying is presented in the drama My Nerd Girl Season 1 using Roland Barthes's semiotic approach. The analysis focuses on the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings contained in the visual and narrative symbols in the bullying scenes. The research data in the form of scene clips showing forms of bullying, are then analyzed to reveal the underlying social ideology. The results show that this drama represents bullying in various forms, ranging from verbal, cyber, physical, to social. These bullying acts are presented as a form of power, domination, and group control over individuals. The emerging connotative meanings indicate that bullying is legitimized by adolescent ideologies regarding popularity, physical appearance standards, and social acceptance in the school environment. The myth constructed through the drama's narrative is that symbolic and social violence is often considered normal or even necessary to maintain a certain social status. Thus, My Nerd Girl Season 1 serves not only as entertainment but also as a medium for social reflection that reveals the reality of bullying among adolescents.

The use of social media has become an inseparable part of daily life for Indonesian teenagers. Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp are widely used for communication, self-expression, entertainment, and information. However, behind these benefits lie significant negative impacts, particularly the rise of juvenile delinquency and digital violence. Phenomena such as cyberbullying, the spread of negative content, hoaxes, hate speech, and online exploitation are increasingly prevalent. Data from GoodStats and the 2024 National Survey on the Life Experiences of Children and Adolescents (SNPHAR) reveal high rates of violence experienced and perpetrated by teenagers in digital spaces. Furthermore, reports from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) show a yearly increase in cases of juvenile misbehavior linked to social media usage. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data from KPAI, GoodStats, and SNPHAR. The objective is to identify various forms of juvenile delinquency triggered by social media use and to explore both existing and potential strategies for prevention. The analysis indicates that low levels of digital literacy among teenagers, weak parental supervision, and the influence of social media algorithms that often amplify extreme content are major contributing factors to deviant behavior. This research emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts among families, schools, the government, and digital platforms to create a safe and healthy digital environment for teenagers. Comprehensive digital literacy education, character development, stronger child protection regulations on the internet, and increased parental involvement are key strategies that need to be strengthened. Through an integrated approach, it is hoped that the risks of delinquency and digital violence can be minimized, enabling Indonesian youth to grow into a generation that is intelligent, critical, and responsible in their use of social media.

This Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented in response to the high usage of social media among students, particularly Instagram, which often becomes a platform for cyberbullying. This phenomenon becomes increasingly complex when students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Comments or posts considered normal in one culture may be perceived as offensive in another. A lack of cultural sensitivity often triggers digital conflict and bullying, which can negatively impact students' mental health. This PKM aims to improve students’ understanding of the dangers of cyberbullying and the importance of cross-cultural communication ethics. The program began with a pre-test to assess participants' initial knowledge, followed by an interactive seminar discussing the concepts of cyberbullying, digital ethics, and real-life case studies. Students then engaged in group discussions and simulations, where they analyzed problematic digital content and formulated empathetic, constructive responses. At the end of the activity, a post-test was conducted to evaluate the program’s effectiveness. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ awareness and attitudes. This program successfully encouraged students to be more thoughtful and responsible in their online interactions and to become change agents in creating a safer, more inclusive digital environment. The outcomes of this program include a scholarly publication, an educational video disseminated on social media, and quantitative data showing an increase in participants’ knowledge. Overall, this initiative contributes to strengthening multicultural digital literacy among today’s youth.

The rapid advancement of technology has significantly transformed the way individuals communicate, particularly through social media platforms. These platforms, often referred to as part of cyberspace, have facilitated seamless and widespread interpersonal interaction. Social media has become a space where various forms of social activity are displayed, including the phenomenon of self-presentation or "showing off. This study employs Social Penetration Theory, which elucidates the process through which interpersonal relationships evolve from superficial exchanges to deeper, more intimate levels of communication. Central to this theory is the concept of self-disclosure, which is considered a driving force in the development of personal relationships. A qualitative research methodology was adopted, utilizing a descriptive phenomenological approach to explore lived experiences and the subjective meanings behind them. Data were collected through a combination of observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the progression of relational depth among individuals on social media is significantly influenced by the degree of self-disclosure. One notable phenomenon observed is the use of secondary Instagram accounts (often referred to as "second accounts" or "finstas"), which serve as private spaces where users feel more comfortable engaging in authentic self-expression and disclosure.

The crime of defamation in the digital era has become an increasingly complex phenomenon along with the rapid development of information technology. This study aims to analyze the problem of criminal defamation from the perspective of Hadith At-Tirmidzi Number 1894 and Article 27A of the ITE Law. The main focus of the study is on the dynamics of criminal defamation in the context of information and media ethics, the role of hoax news that contributes to the rampant criminal defamation cases, and legal analysis related to both sources. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with normative analysis of Islamic legal doctrine and positive legal provisions. The results of the study show that Hadith At-Tirmidzi Number 1894 emphasizes the importance of honesty and prohibits lying as part of moral ethics in Islam. Meanwhile, Article 27A of the ITE Law acts as a legal instrument to address criminal defamation violations in the digital realm. A comparison of these two sources shows that although Islamic law and positive law have similarities in maintaining individual honor, the resolution mechanisms are different. Therefore, this study recommends preventive measures such as increasing digital literacy and legal education to reduce the risk of defamation and increase public awareness of the ethics of communicating in cyberspace
