This study examines the emergence of localized English expressions in Indonesian social media discourse, highlighting how English is adapted and reinterpreted in multilingual digital contexts. While previous studies on English in Indonesia have primarily focused on formal domains such as education and language policy, limited attention has been given to informal online communication where linguistic innovation is highly visible. This study aims to analyze how English lexical items are re-semanticized and creatively transformed by Indonesian users on social media platforms. The study employed a qualitative approach using data collected from Instagram posts and comments, focusing on selected examples of English-derived expressions such as boba, gas, voucher, server, and suamiable. The analysis compares the conventional meanings of these terms in Inner Circle English with their localized meanings in Indonesian usage. The findings reveal that English functions as a flexible linguistic resource, undergoing processes of semantic shift, metaphorical extension, and lexical blending. These localized forms reflect users’ creativity as well as their ability to adapt global linguistic resources to local cultural contexts. The study concludes that English in Indonesian social media is not merely borrowed but actively reconstructed, contributing to the dynamic development of English in the Expanding Circle.

This study aims to analyze the language style employed by President Prabowo Subianto in his speech delivered at the 17th National Farmers and Fishermen Week in 2026 using Teun A. Van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis framework. The study employed a qualitative approach with documentation techniques applied to the official speech transcript. Data were analyzed through Van Dijk's three analytical dimensions, namely text, social cognition, and social context. The findings reveal that, at the textual level, the speech is dominated by themes of support for farmers and fishermen as strategic actors in national development and food security. At the superstructure level, the speech is organized argumentatively through personal experiences, policy explanations, and reaffirmation of governmental commitments. At the microstructure level, the speech demonstrates the use of informal language, rhetorical strategies, repetition, and lexical choices that strengthen the relationship between the speaker and the audience. In terms of social cognition, the findings indicate the speaker's awareness of the media's role in shaping public opinion, as reflected in several instances of meta-communication. Meanwhile, the social context dimension reveals representations of power relations through the construction of social groups positioned either as supporters or obstacles to national interests. These findings suggest that the speech functions not only as a means of political communication but also as a medium for constructing ideology, legitimizing power, and shaping political identity. This study reinforces the view that language plays a significant role in representing social realities and power relations within society.

This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation, transformational leadership style, and career development on employee performance through job satisfaction at the Dinas PUPR Kabupaten Kutai Timur. This research uses quantitative explanatory method with SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares) analysis. The population consists of 120 employees with a sample of 93 respondents determined using the Slovin formula with 5% margin of error and simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire (1-5). The results show that career development has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction (original sample 0.574, p-value 0.000), and transformational leadership style has a significant positive effect on employee performance (original sample 0.540, p-value 0.000). However, work motivation and transformational leadership style do not significantly affect job satisfaction, and work motivation and career development do not directly affect employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction fails to mediate the relationship between work motivation, transformational leadership style, and career development on employee performance. The R-Square values indicate that the predictor variables explain 40.4% of job satisfaction variance and 40.1% of employee performance variance.

The surge in young investors in the country indicates that university students are increasingly drawn to the financial markets. Unfortunately, the soundness of students' investment choices often lacks a foundation of clear reasoning, as they remain swayed by social influences, limited insight, and the rapid technological advancements that facilitate access to investment opportunities. This study aims to unravel the determinants of students' investment decisions through the lens of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), focusing on financial literacy, risk tolerance, and technology—three factors frequently examined in existing literature. A qualitative approach was adopted, involving a literature review of scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2024. Data gathered from relevant academic sources were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify research patterns, conceptual relationships, and the consistency of prior findings. The results reveal that the Theory of Planned Behavior effectively explains students' investment decisions through the interplay of attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Financial literacy emerges as the most robust and consistent determinant influencing investment decisions; risk tolerance shapes investment preferences; and technology acts as a catalyst, enhancing accessibility and convenience. These findings suggest that deepening financial literacy—supported by optimal technology use and adequate risk awareness—can empower students to make investment decisions that are rational, well-calculated, and long-term oriented.

Financial technology growth via digital wallets in Indonesia offers transaction convenience but challenges Sharia compliance. The main issues involve managing floating funds and cashback rewards, which risk exposure to riba. This study aims to examine and compare riba risk mitigation strategies in both areas. Employing normative legal research with qualitative, comparative, and conceptual approaches, it utilizes library research from DSN-MUI Fatwas, the Qur’an, Hadith, and fiqh muamalah literature. The findings reveal that floating fund riba risks can be minimized by depositing assets in Islamic financial institutions using wadiah or mudharabah contracts to avoid riba nasi’ah. Meanwhile, cashback riba risks are prevented by shifting the contract from qard to ju’alah or hibah mu’allaq, treating incentives as transaction rewards rather than loan benefits. Comparative analysis shows floating fund mitigation is structural, while cashback is reconstructive. Both work effectively under Sharia Supervisory Board monitoring. In conclusion, compliance requires practical execution via appropriate contracts, transparent supervision, and public education. Therefore, contract standardization by DSN-MUI and OJK, alongside enhanced Islamic financial literacy, is necessary.

This study examines the effects of participative leadership, organizational culture, and work motivation on employee performance through job satisfaction at the Department of Industry and Trade of East Kutai Regency. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed. The population comprised 108 civil servants and regional contract employees, all of whom were included as research respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and path analysis. The findings demonstrate that participative leadership, organizational culture, and work motivation have positive and significant effects on job satisfaction. Partially, these three variables also exert positive and significant effects on employee performance. In addition, job satisfaction was found to have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The results of the path analysis further indicate that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between participative leadership, organizational culture, work motivation, and employee performance. These findings suggest that efforts to improve employee performance in public sector organizations require the strengthening of participative leadership practices, the development of a supportive organizational culture, the enhancement of work motivation, and the sustainable management of job satisfaction. Accordingly, job satisfaction constitutes an important mechanism through which organizational factors contribute to improved employee performance.

This study aims to analyze the inner conflict experienced by the female protagonist, Alina Suhita, in the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis using Karen Horney’s psychological perspective. The study is motivated by the complexity of the psychological struggles faced by the main character in dealing with marital pressures, family expectations, and socio-cultural demands within a pesantren environment. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis. The data source was the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis, while the research data consisted of textual excerpts depicting the protagonist’s inner conflicts. Data were collected through reading and note-taking techniques and subsequently analyzed based on Karen Horney’s theory of neurotic tendencies. The findings reveal that Suhita’s inner conflict is influenced by marital pressures, family demands, social expectations, as well as cultural and religious values that shape her personality. These conflicts are manifested through three neurotic tendencies: moving toward people, moving against people, and moving away from people. The tendency of moving toward people is reflected in her obedience, self-sacrifice, and need for acceptance. The tendency of moving against people appears in her efforts to maintain self-respect, assertiveness, and courage in confronting pressure. Meanwhile, the tendency of moving away from people is shown through emotional withdrawal, solitude, and the pursuit of inner peace. The findings indicate that the protagonist’s inner conflict is dynamic and functions as a form of psychological adjustment to basic anxiety and socio-cultural pressures throughout the narrative.

Corruption committed by the leader of an independent state oversight institution represents a paradox that fundamentally undermines the legitimacy of government governance. This study examines the case of Hery Susanto, Chairman of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, who was designated as a corruption suspect by the Attorney General's Office on April 16, 2026—merely six days after his inauguration—in connection with alleged bribery of Rp1.5 billion from PT Toshida Sulawesi Hijau Indonesia involving the management of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in the nickel mining sector for the period 2013–2025. This study aims to analyze the manifestation of the three elements of the Fraud Triangle—pressure, opportunity, and rationalization—within this case, and to formulate systemic implications for corruption prevention in independent state institutions. Employing a normative-empirical legal research approach with a case study method, data were collected through documentation and qualitative content analysis of legal documents, official press releases from the Attorney General's Office, and verified media reports. The findings reveal that pressure stemmed from financial motivation and career ambition; opportunity arose from weak internal oversight mechanisms, the perpetrator's strategic position, and regulatory gaps in Law Number 37 of 2008; while rationalization manifested through cognitive justification that framed the receipt of compensation as a reasonable reward for services rendered. This study contributes to the literature on forensic accounting and corruption criminology, while recommending the establishment of an independent Ombudsman Supervisory Board and the strengthening of a digital-based early detection system.

The rapid development of the digital era has significantly impacted adolescents by increasing academic stress due to academic demands, performance pressure, and technological distractions. This condition is often exacerbated by low levels of emotion regulation, which negatively affect students’ learning focus and psychological well-being. Therefore, effective interventions are needed to help students manage their emotions adaptively. This community service program aims to enhance emotional balance and reduce academic stress through a mindfulness-based intervention at MA Plus Nururrohmah. The program employed a participatory approach with stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. It was conducted in two main sessions: a mindfulness session delivered by Erlin Kurnia Sri Rejeki, M.Pd.I, and an interactive stress-release session facilitated by Estria Solihatun Nurjannah, M.Pd. Data were collected qualitatively through observation, documentation, and analysis of students’ responses and participation. The results show improved emotional awareness, better recognition of stress conditions, and increased student engagement. Additionally, students demonstrated more positive emotional states after the program. Thus, mindfulness implementation contributes positively to enhancing emotion regulation and reducing academic stress and has potential as a sustainable school-based mental health intervention model.

This study aims to analyze the effect of exchange rate on transfer pricing with tax minimization as a moderating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from companies’ financial statements. The analytical methods include regression analysis and interaction testing to examine the moderating role. The results indicate that tax minimization does not strengthen the effect of exchange rate on transfer pricing, but instead weakens the relationship, leading to the rejection of the second hypothesis (H2). These findings suggest that companies tend to rely more on tax efficiency strategies rather than responding to exchange rate fluctuations in determining transfer pricing policies. This study implies that internal company factors play a more dominant role than external factors in influencing transfer pricing decisions.

This community-based project aimed to analyze the cash management system of the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) Bakpia Juwara Satoe and develop recommendations to improve the company's financial performance. Cash management is a crucial but often overlooked aspect of MSME financial management, which can lead to cash flow problems, inaccurate record keeping, and poor management decisions. The methodology used included qualitative data collection through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and financial statement analysis. The project findings revealed that Bakpia Juwara Satoe lacked a functioning cash management system. There was no separation between cash receipts and disbursements, no standardized system for handling cash, and transaction recording remained manual and inconsistent. As part of the project, standard operating procedures (SOP) for cash management were developed, financial accounting training was conducted, and support was provided in creating simple cash flow statements. Following the implementation of these measures, record accuracy increased by 78%, and cash losses were reduced. It was determined that the implementation of efficient cash management contributed significantly to the improvement of Bakpia Juwara Satoe's financial performance.

The development of digital media has transformed YouTube into one of the most influential platforms for Islamic preaching, shaping public understanding of religious issues, including religious tolerance. This study aims to analyze the representation of religious tolerance, the patterns of tolerance message delivery, and the tendency of interpreting religious tolerance in Felix Siauw’s YouTube content. The research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis of videos discussing interfaith relations and social diversity. The findings reveal that religious tolerance in Felix Siauw’s content is represented as respect for the rights of followers of other religions in social life without compromising the boundaries of Islamic creed (aqidah). Messages of tolerance are conveyed through persuasive narratives supported by Qur’anic verses, Hadith, and scholars’ perspectives, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Islamic identity within a pluralistic society. The study also indicates that the interpretation of tolerance promoted in the content tends to emphasize social tolerance rather than theological tolerance, namely respecting diversity and fostering peaceful coexistence without equating religious beliefs. Therefore, digital Islamic preaching functions not only as a medium for disseminating religious teachings but also as a platform for shaping public understanding of religious tolerance.

Language errors in public spaces are still frequently found in various media, such as signboards, banners, billboards, and posters. This phenomenon not only indicates a deviation from standard Indonesian language rules but also has the potential to influence how people understand and use language. This study aims to describe the forms of language errors in public spaces, analyze them from a critical linguistic perspective, and identify their implications for public literacy. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a critical linguistic analysis approach. Data in the form of examples of language use in public spaces are analyzed based on aspects of spelling, diction, and sentence structure, then interpreted in relation to the social practices and ideologies that underlie them. The results of the study indicate that the dominant language errors include spelling errors, inappropriate word choice, and the use of ineffective sentence structures. From a critical linguistic perspective, these errors are not only caused by a lack of mastery of language rules but are also influenced by social habits, the reproduction of deviant language practices, and the tendency to use foreign languages to construct a certain image. These findings indicate that repeated exposure to language that does not conform to rules can affect the quality of public literacy. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen critical literacy and increase language awareness so that society is able to use and evaluate language more appropriately and responsibly.
