This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus at the Srandakan Health Center, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease that has a significant impact on the physical, psychological, social, and environmental aspects of the patient. The increasing prevalence of DM, especially in the elderly population in Indonesia, demands a more effective and holistic management strategy. Family support has an important role in improving self-care behaviors and adherence to treatment, which has a direct impact on patients' quality of life. This study uses a quantitative correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. An independent variable is family support measured through informational, emotional, instrumental, and appreciative dimensions. Dependent variables are quality of life that include physical, psychological, social, and environmental aspects. The study population consisted of DM patients who visited the Srandakan Health Center. The results of the study are expected to show that supportive family involvement contributes positively to improving the quality of life of patients. These findings provide theoretical and practical implications for the development of nursing care and public health programs, particularly in the context of chronic diseases. This research also emphasizes the importance of comprehensive education and community participation in strengthening the role of the family as the main support system in the management of diabetes mellitus.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a chronic condition that not only impacts reproductive and metabolic functions, but also has a major impact on the mental health of women who experience it. This study aims to explore the factors that affect mental health in women with PCOS through a biopsychosocial approach. The method used was a review of the narrative literature on 11 scientific articles obtained through Google Scholar. The results of the study show that there are three main dimensions that are interrelated, namely biological factors (insulin resistance, obesity, hyperandrogenism, menstrual disorders, and infertility), psychological factors (neuroticism, coping style, and body image), and social factors (social stigma and social support). These three dimensions interact in a complex way and can contribute to the appearance of psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Therefore, a biopsychosocial approach is important to understand and treat the mental health of people with PCOS holistically. Interventions that are integrated between medical, psychological, and social aspects are needed to improve the emotional well-being and quality of life of women with PCOS in a sustainable manner.

This study examines postpartum nursing care for mothers undergoing Sectio Caesarea (SC) with the primary nursing diagnosis of ineffective breastfeeding. The purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of oxytocin massage intervention in improving breastfeeding outcomes in post-SC mothers. The study was conducted in Mawar Ward, RSUD dr. H. Soewondo Kendal, involving four patients experiencing delayed lactation, difficulty in baby latching, and psychological challenges such as anxiety and lack of confidence. The intervention was based on the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI), focusing on observation, therapeutic actions, education, and collaboration with healthcare teams and family members. Oxytocin massage was performed 2–3 times daily, complemented by warm compresses, breastfeeding position training, and emotional support. The results indicated significant improvements: increased breast milk production, better baby latching, reduced maternal anxiety, and higher self-confidence in breastfeeding. This evidence-based approach highlights that comprehensive postpartum nursing care—integrating physical, psychological, and family support—plays a crucial role in ensuring breastfeeding success and overall maternal recovery after SC.

Self-care independence is an essential aspect that must be developed so that children can live more independently and achieve a better quality of life. This is based on the vital role of the family in facilitating growth, development, and the formation of independence, especially for children with special needs such as those with intellectual disabilities. Children with intellectual disabilities often experience limitations in adaptive and intellectual abilities, making family support a key factor that helps them learn to perform daily activities independently. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and self-care independence among children with intellectual disabilities at SLB Bukesra Banda Aceh. The research used a quantitative method with a descriptive-analytic design and a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 40 children with intellectual disabilities selected through purposive sampling from a total of 69 registered students. The research instruments were family support and self-care independence questionnaires using the Guttman scale. The study was conducted from June 1 to June 7, 2025. The results showed that most children received good family support (82.5%) and demonstrated good self-care independence (60%). The bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test indicated a significant relationship between family support and self-care independence (p-value = 0.001, p < 0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that family support plays a crucial role in improving the self-care independence of children with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, parents are encouraged to provide consistent emotional, appreciation, instrumental, and informational support to help their children learn to care for themselves independently. This study examines the denotative and connotative meanings in Mahmoud Darwish's poem "Fakkir Bighairik" using a semantic approach. Language as a sign system has a primary function in conveying meaning, and poetry is the medium of linguistic expression richest in such meaning. Darwish's poem, through dense diction, depicts empathy, humanity, and the struggle of the Palestinian people by inviting readers to "think of the other." This study uses a descriptive-qualitative method with library techniques, where data is taken from the text of Fakkir Bighairik's poem and analyzed based on the theory of denotative and connotative meaning. The results show that the denotative meaning in this poem conveys a direct and straightforward message, while the connotative meaning provides emotional, social, and moral depth that strengthens the humanitarian message. The combination of these two meanings creates a poetic effect that awakens readers' awareness of solidarity and universal human values. In addition, this poem also invites readers to reflect on their role in the humanitarian struggle and reminds them of the importance of fighting for human rights amidst conflict.

Early childhood represents a golden period that is vital for the development of all aspects of a child’s abilities, particularly language skills. Speaking ability plays a central role as it serves as a child’s primary means of communication and social interaction. However, not all children achieve speech milestones appropriate for their age. Speech delays can negatively affect social, emotional, and academic growth if not identified early. This study aims to identify speech delays in early childhood through classroom interactions and to analyze the role of teachers in early detection and stimulation of language skills. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved ten children aged 4–6 years at Siti Khadijah Kindergarten. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings revealed that two children showed signs of speech delay, characterized by limited vocabulary, unclear pronunciation, and difficulty forming simple sentences. The main contributing factors were a lack of verbal stimulation at home and excessive gadget use, which reduced direct communication. Activities such as circle time, role-playing, and storytelling were found effective for detecting and stimulating speech development. Teachers play a crucial role as early detection agents, working collaboratively with parents to ensure continuous stimulation at home. Strengthening teachers’ capacity to observe, identify, and support children with speech delays is essential for promoting optimal language development.

This study aims to determine the representation of the father's role as a single parent in the short film "Mana Janji Ayah." The study used a qualitative method with Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis focusing on three layers of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The analysis was conducted on scenes depicting the father's role, including as protector, patient, breadwinner, caretaker, and bringer of happiness to children. The results show that the representation of fathers is not limited to financial functions but also encompasses emotional and moral roles, such as affection, responsibility, and sacrifice in raising children. The film depicts a single father who works as a bajaj driver to support his children after the death of his wife, despite often facing economic constraints and environmental stigma. This representation is conveyed through visual and audio cues that reinforce the message of a father's struggle and sincerity. This study confirms that film can be a medium that reflects social reality, particularly the complexity of the role of single fathers, which is often overlooked in society.

The concept of hubuddunya (love of the world) within the Akidah Akhlak subject holds a strategic role in shaping the moral and spiritual character of students, particularly in the midst of globalization, materialism, and consumerist culture that increasingly influence young generations. This study seeks to critically analyze the teaching materials of Akidah Akhlak for Grade X at MA YASPI Cicantayan, focusing on the hubuddunya topic. The main objective is to evaluate the relevance, depth, and effectiveness of these materials in fostering students’ awareness of moral values, as well as their ability to apply Islamic principles in daily life. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, collecting data through documentation of learning resources, observation of lesson plans (RPP), and in-depth interviews with teachers. The data analysis process was conducted through reduction, classification, and interpretation of findings to obtain a comprehensive picture of the existing instructional practices. The results reveal that the current teaching materials tend to remain highly theoretical and emphasize the transfer of knowledge rather than transformative learning. Consequently, they do not adequately address contextual issues faced by students in their real-life environment. The affective and psychomotor aspects of students’ moral development are not optimally stimulated, leaving a gap between conceptual understanding and practical application. Furthermore, essential Islamic values such as zuhud (detachment from excessive worldliness), qanaah (contentment), and tawakal (trust in God) have not been integrated effectively as counterbalances to materialistic tendencies. The implications of this study underline the urgency of developing Akidah Akhlak teaching materials that are more contextual, student-centered, and relevant to contemporary challenges. Such materials should not only transmit religious knowledge but also foster reflective thinking, emotional maturity, and behavioral consistency, thereby preparing students to face globalization with strong faith, resilience, and anti-materialistic attitudes.

Self-disclosure is an interpersonal communication process in which individuals voluntarily share personal information that is typically unknown to others. This research focuses on the self-disclosure of male students to Guidance and Counseling teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Pulau Maya, aiming to explore the factors influencing their openness and its impact on their personal and emotional development. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, the study collected data from 33 male students through a questionnaire based on a Likert scale. The results revealed that the students demonstrated a high level of self-disclosure with a score of 87.04%, indicating a strong sense of comfort and trust in sharing personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences with their BK teacher. The study also found that both internal factors, such as self-confidence and social acceptance, and external factors, such as supportive school environments and teacher-student relationships, significantly contributed to students' openness. The findings support previous research that self-disclosure promotes emotional well-being and stress management. Based on these results, it is recommended that teachers create a safe and supportive environment to encourage self-disclosure, helping students develop better emotional and social skills. Furthermore, more programs that facilitate open communication, such as group counseling sessions, should be implemented to support students' personal development.

Marriage is a physical and emotional bond between a man and a woman recognized by law and religion. In practice, issues often arise regarding the status of joint property acquired during marriage, especially in the event of divorce. To anticipate such disputes, a prenuptial agreement serves as a legal instrument that provides certainty and legal protection for both husband and wife in managing and dividing joint assets, either during the marriage or after divorce. This study aims to analyze the urgency of drafting a prenuptial agreement, identify the legal aspects that need to be included in the deed, and examine its juridical implications. This research employs a normative legal method with a conceptual and statutory approach, using descriptive-analytical techniques, secondary data sources, and qualitative analysis. The findings indicate that a prenuptial agreement has significant urgency in protecting the rights of both spouses in case of divorce. Furthermore, it holds binding legal force and creates juridical implications by clarifying the separation between personal and joint property, thereby ensuring legal certainty for both parties.

Impaired emotion regulation and decreased quality of life are common, yet often untreated, sequelae of stroke. Conventional rehabilitation primarily targets physical and cognitive recovery, leaving affective disturbances unaddressed. This study examined the efficacy of a structured Buddhist meditation program—Mindful Resilience After Stroke (MRAS)—for improving emotion regulation and quality of life in stroke survivors. Forty-two ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke patients (3–18 months post-onset) were consecutively recruited and randomly allocated to an intervention group (n = 21) receiving an 8-week MRAS protocol (1 × 60 min/week) or a control group (n = 21) receiving standard care only. Emotion regulation was assessed with the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-Short Form (DERS-SF) and quality of life with the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL). Between-group changes (Δ post-pre) were analyzed using independent t-tests or Mann–Whitney U tests (α = 0.05). The intervention group showed a significantly greater reduction in emotion-regulation difficulties than controls (ΔDERS-SF −18.4 ± 5.1 vs. −3.2 ± 4.3; p < 0.001; d = 1.62). Quality-of-life gains were also larger in the intervention group (ΔSS-QOL 35.7 ± 8.9 vs. 7.1 ± 6.5; p < 0.001; d = 1.89). The most improved sub-domains were emotional acceptance, emotional awareness, and impulse control (DERS-SF), as well as energy, mood, and social participation (SS-QOL). No intervention-related adverse events were reported. MRAS is an effective and safe adjunctive intervention to enhance emotion regulation and quality of life after stroke. Embedding mindfulness practices grounded in Buddhist tradition into stroke rehabilitation offers a holistic, culturally adaptable approach for neuropsychological services in Indonesia.

The family is the first environment that shapes a child's personality and social behavior. However, in broken homes, emotional conditions and parenting patterns are often disrupted due to separation or the absence of one parent. This has an impact on the process of shaping children's social behavior in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the social behavior of children from broken homes in Kampung Aur, Kelurahan Aur, Medan City. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used. The main informants consisted of five children from broken homes who were selected using the snowball technique. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the study showed that the children's social behavior had not developed optimally in most indicators, namely cooperation, sharing, competition, empathy, sympathy, imitation, social support, and social acceptance. The main obstacles arise from inconsistent parenting patterns, lack of emotional support, and an unsupportive social environment. Therefore, the active involvement of parents, guardians, and the community is essential to shape and nurture children's social behavior in a sustainable manner.

In Islam, the family is a spiritual institution that plays a central role in shaping human psychological and moral balance. However, modernization, individualism, and value disorientation have led to rising psychological crises and disharmony in Muslim households. This issue requires a scientific approach that goes beyond legal-normative perspectives toward an integrative psychological understanding. This study aims to analyze the concept of Sakinah, Mawaddah, and Rahmah from a psychological perspective to formulate a contextual and applicable model of family well-being. The research employs a qualitative library research method by synthesizing Islamic sources (Qur’an, Hadith, and classical scholarship) with contemporary psychological theories of emotional well-being and spiritual intelligence. The findings reveal that Sakinah represents spiritual-emotional equilibrium, Mawaddah functions as an ethical and transcendental affective energy, and Rahmah embodies compassionate empathy that nurtures healing and forgiveness. Together, these values constitute the Islamic Family Well-Being Model, an integrative paradigm that situates spirituality as emotional regulation, love as affective force, and compassion as moral regulator. This model asserts that genuine harmony in Muslim families can only be achieved through psycho-spiritual balance grounded in divine values.

This study aims to determine the influence of parenting styles on the social development of early childhood at the Al-Fajril Ulum Preschool and Kindergarten (PAUD TPA Al-Fajril Ulum). Observations were conducted to analyze how four types of parenting styles democratic, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful influence children's social skills in the context of interaction, communication, decision-making, and the ability to establish relationships with peers. The study used a quantitative method with an ex post facto design, involving a sample of 8 children. Data collection instruments included questionnaires and observation sheets for children's social development based on indicators for each parenting style. The results showed that democratic parenting had the most significant positive influence on children's social development, marked by an increase in children's ability to express opinions, cooperate, respect others, and demonstrate social independence. Conversely, authoritarian and neglectful parenting styles had negative influences due to low emotional warmth, lack of dialogue, and minimal stimulation received by children. Permissive parenting showed a positive influence but not as strong as democratic parenting due to weak parental boundaries and control. Overall, the research findings confirm that the quality of parenting styles plays a direct role in shaping the social behavior of early childhood.
