Character education serves as a fundamental pillar in shaping a generation of morally upright, responsible, and resilient youth. It not only fosters ethical behavior but also equips children with the skills and attitudes necessary to contribute positively to society. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of character education among children through a combination of artistic activities—such as coloring and calligraphy—and environmental activities, specifically planting. The research was conducted in two orphanages located in Blitar Regency, namely Raudhatul Aitam Orphanage and Nurul Falah Orphanage. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that creative, participatory, and collaborative approaches are effective in nurturing essential character values among children, both under and over the age of ten. The core values instilled through the activities include appreciation for global diversity, cooperative spirit (gotong royong), faith, and environmental awareness. Practical activities, such as coloring illustrations of traditional houses, planting chili plants, and coloring calligraphic artworks, were found to enhance children’s creativity, self-confidence, patience, and social interaction skills. Moreover, these activities encouraged teamwork and a sense of responsibility, as children worked together to complete tasks and care for their environment. The study highlights the importance of integrating cultural, artistic, and ecological elements in character education programs to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Furthermore, continuous support and collaboration from various stakeholders—including caregivers, educators, community members, and government institutions—are essential to ensure sustainability. When consistently implemented, such programs have the potential to produce long-term positive impacts, helping children grow into individuals who are not only skilled and creative but also possess strong moral values and a deep sense of social responsibility.

The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to social, economic, and political life in Indonesia. However, the complex and rapidly changing dynamics of cyberspace present major challenges in statute, personal data protection, disinformation, and cybersecurity. Unfortunately, the existing regulatory framework is still sectoral and has not yet responded holistically to the various digital issues that arise. This fragmented approach often leads to overlapping authorities, inconsistent enforcement, and gaps in addressing emerging cyber threats. Therefore, the establishment of the National Digital Commission is urgently needed as an independent institution tasked with coordinating, formulating, and overseeing digital policies in an integrated and systematic manner. This commission should consist of multidisciplinary experts in law, technology, and public policy, ensuring balanced perspectives in policy formulation. In addition, it should serve as a bridge between the government, the private sector, and civil society to facilitate inclusive and transparent digital governance. The National Digital Commission is expected to ensure cyberspace governance that is responsive to technological developments while maintaining digital resilience. It must also actively promote digital literacy, ethical online behavior, and responsible use of social media platforms to combat hoaxes and hate speech. Furthermore, the commission must strengthen Indonesia’s cybersecurity infrastructure to protect national interests and uphold the rights of its citizens in the digital space. By creating a unified regulatory framework and robust oversight mechanism, Indonesia can build a safer and more democratic digital ecosystem. This effort is essential in reinforcing accountability, defending cybersecurity, advancing democracy, ensuring governance, and safeguarding innovation in the face of rapid digital transformation.

This study aims to examine the differences and similarities between continental and local Indonesian cuisine, focusing on the case studies of Beef Stroganoff and Rendang. The study covers aspects such as ingredients, cooking techniques, presentation, and the cultural values embedded in these dishes. The research employs a qualitative descriptive case study approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and literature review. The results indicate that continental cuisine emphasizes the use of high-quality ingredients, often favoring simplicity and freshness, and applies quick cooking techniques such as sautéing or grilling. Presentation is also a key element, with attention to aesthetic appeal and portion control. Beef Stroganoff, for example, is known for its creamy texture and elegant plating. In contrast, local Indonesian cuisine, as exemplified by Rendang, is characterized by its complex spice blends and slow cooking methods, often taking hours to achieve the desired taste and texture. Rendang holds deep social and cultural meanings, commonly served at ceremonial events or traditional gatherings, symbolizing patience, generosity, and respect for tradition. Despite these differences, both types of cuisine share similar functions in society: they both aim to fulfill nutritional needs, express cultural values, and strengthen social bonds. Food, in both contexts, becomes more than just sustenance—it is a form of identity and communication. This study recommends integrating local culinary studies into the culinary education curricula, especially at vocational and higher education levels. By doing so, students not only learn technical skills but also develop an appreciation for the cultural heritage embodied in Indonesian cuisine. This is essential in the era of globalization, where local identities risk being overshadowed by global culinary trends. Preserving and promoting traditional dishes like Rendang is vital for safeguarding Indonesia’s gastronomic identity and fostering pride in national culture.

This research examines in-depth legal protection against cybercrime in Indonesia, with a specific focus on ransomware attacks. It also evaluates the 2025 Draft Cyber Security and Resilience Law (RUU KKS) as a measure to strengthen the national cyber defense system. The increase in ransomware cases targeting personal data, public institutions, and vital infrastructure has posed a serious threat to information security and national stability. Although the 2008 Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) and the 2022 Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) serve as the legal basis, these two regulations do not yet specifically and comprehensively regulate ransomware. This results in challenges in law enforcement and victim protection, both in technical aspects, coordination, and human rights protection. The research method used is normative legal with a qualitative approach, which includes analysis of primary and secondary legal materials, as well as comparisons with regulations in several countries that have more mature ransomware handling mechanisms. The analysis of the 2025 Cyber Security Bill (RUU KKS) indicates that this draft regulation has the potential to strengthen the authority of cyber authorities, mandate reporting of cyber incidents, and impose stricter sanctions on perpetrators. However, implementing this policy requires effective cross-agency coordination, transparent oversight, and synergy between the public and private sectors. This study concludes that the 2025 Cyber Security Bill (RUU KKS) represents a strategic step in building a national cybersecurity system that is adaptive, integrated, and responsive to evolving cyber threats. However, its success will depend heavily on improving public digital security literacy, multi-sectoral collaboration, investment in detection and prevention technology, and guaranteeing human rights protection. These findings are expected to provide input for policymakers in formulating comprehensive and sustainable cybersecurity regulations as a bulwark of national defense in the digital era.

Pempek is a traditional Indonesian food that is widely loved by people because of its delicious taste and easy availability in various regions, especially in coastal areas. However, although pempek is made from ingredients that are generally safe for consumption, the unhygienic production process has the potential to cause contamination by pathogenic bacteria. The process of making pempek involves many hands, unsterile processing, and inadequate storage can increase the risk of bacterial proliferation, especially in food served by street vendors. This study aims to identify the presence of pathogenic bacteria in pempek sold by street vendors around the campus environment. By using sample dilution methods, inoculation onto Nutrient Agar (NA) media, as well as colony morphology differentiation and Gram staining, this study successfully identified several pathogenic bacteria that have the potential to harm health. The bacteria found included Staphylococcus sp., known as a pathogen causing food poisoning, E. coli which can cause gastrointestinal disorders, and Pseudomonas sp. which can cause skin and respiratory infections. Based on the results of this study, it is important for local food producers to maintain cleanliness and ensure hygienic production processes so that the food sold is safe for consumption. Furthermore, food quality monitoring by authorities and education for producers on the importance of hygiene in food preparation need to be strengthened to prevent the risk of foodborne illnesses. Furthermore, regular inspections of food sold by street vendors are crucial to ensure it is free from harmful microbial contamination. Adolescence is often regarded as a vulnerable and critical period, marked by the transition from childhood to adulthood. In today’s context, this phase is frequently described as a time of crisis due to the lack of proper guidance during personality formation. Teenagers require support and direction, particularly from their parents, to help navigate this stage. The family plays a crucial role in shaping behavior and is considered the primary institution responsible for preventing and addressing juvenile delinquency. A harmonious family life often reflects in the child’s behavior and interaction with the environment. When parents are actively involved in guiding and mentoring their children, adolescents are more likely to become positive role models. Deviant behavior among teenagers has become a pressing issue, especially considering that the youth are regarded as future assets for the nation, state, and religion. This study aims to: (1) Identify the factors that cause deviant behavior among teenagers in Kendayakan Village, Serang District; and (2) Explore the efforts made by parents to address such behavior. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected using three techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive methods. The findings reveal that deviant behavior among teenagers in Kendayakan Village is influenced by two main factors: (a) environmental factors, such as peer influence and lack of positive role models, and (b) individual factors, including emotional instability and lack of self-control. Meanwhile, the efforts made by parents include providing supervision, instilling discipline, offering advice and religious education, and collaborating with schools and community leaders. These efforts highlight the critical role of parental intervention in preventing and addressing adolescent deviance.

Assessment practices in Indonesian schools remain largely dominated by conventional summative evaluation, which inadequately represents reflective learning processes and mastery of 21st-century competencies. This gap highlights the suboptimal implementation of formative and authentic assessments in educational practice, as well as the lack of conceptual models capable of systematically integrating both approaches. This article aims to examine and develop an integrative assessment model that combines three key approaches: formative assessment, authentic assessment, and Evidence-Centered Design (ECD), as a strategic framework to strengthen assessment practices for 21st-century learning. This study is based on a conceptual synthesis of more than 20 national and international sources. A narrative review approach is employed, focusing on the three main approaches: formative assessment, authentic assessment, and ECD. The results of the review produce an integrative assessment model articulated in the Claim–Task–Evidence–Feedback syntax, which merges competency mapping (claim), real-world task design (task), student performance evidence collection (evidence), and continuous formative feedback (feedback). This model not only unifies the strengths of the three approaches but also offers practical solutions to the challenges of assessment implementation in Indonesia through practice-based training, integration into instructional planning, and support from technical policy frameworks. The article contributes to the advancement of assessment design that is pedagogically valid, contextually relevant, and instrumental in driving learning transformation.

On-task behavior problems are a common obstacle in the academic activities of school-aged children. Children often experience difficulty maintaining attention, are easily distracted, and exhibit frequent shifts of attention during learning. This has the potential to lead to decreased academic achievement and increased impulsive behavior. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the shaping behavior modification technique in increasing the duration of on-task behavior. The subject of the study was a 4-year-old boy who exhibited attention problems while working on academic tasks. The research design used a one-group pretest-posttest design with a single-subject approach using an A-B-A data collection model. Data collection was carried out using a duration data sheet to measure the duration of on-task behavior through direct observation. Data analysis was conducted by comparing the average duration of on-task behavior before and after the intervention. The results showed that the shaping technique did not provide a significant increase in the duration of on-task behavior. Although there were fluctuations in the duration of increases and decreases during the intervention phase, these results were not sufficient to prove the effectiveness of shaping in this context. These findings indicate that the shaping approach is less than optimal when applied alone, and that additional intervention methods or other alternatives are needed that are more appropriate to the characteristics and needs of the child. This research provides implications for the importance of selecting appropriate and adaptive behavioral intervention techniques to help children improve focus and engagement in academic activities.

This study compares the performance of two deep learning models, namely Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (ConvLSTM) and Long-term Recurrent Convolutional Network (LRCN), in the task of recognizing human activity from videos. Human activity recognition is an important field in computer vision with many applications, such as security monitoring, human-computer interaction, and social media-based video analysis. ConvLSTM is a model that combines convolution operations with long-term memory LSTM, thus capable of capturing spatial and temporal information simultaneously. This approach is ideal for processing video data sequences that have spatial and temporal dimensions. On the other hand, LRCN combines the power of spatial feature extraction from Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and temporal sequence modeling through Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), specifically LSTM, to understand movement patterns in videos. The study used the UCF50 dataset consisting of 50 activity classes, but was limited to five classes for the focus of the experiment. The dataset was divided into 80% for training and 20% for testing, and the model was drilled for 50 epochs using early stopping to prevent overfitting. The results show that both models have high training performance. ConvLSTM achieved a training accuracy of around 98% and a validation accuracy of 90%, while LRCN achieved a training accuracy of 99.5% and a validation accuracy of 88%. Although ConvLSTM demonstrated good stability on the validation data, further testing using TikTok videos as real-world data showed that LRCN had a higher confidence level in recognizing activities, with most predictions achieving confidence scores above 80%. This difference in performance indicates that while ConvLSTM excels in generalizing on training data, LRCN is more robust to real-world data variations.
