This research is based on the shortage of functional penghulu officers, which has become a serious issue for the government, particularly the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia. This condition can affect the quality of services in marriage registration, family guidance, and the provision of legal certainty to the community. To overcome the emergency of penghulu personnel, it is necessary to propose that the position of penghulu also be granted equal access to women, whereas until now the position of penghulu has been dominated only by men. Therefore, this research aims to conduct a comprehensive study on the provisions regarding the opportunities and problems of female penghulu within Indonesia’s civil law system, in which civil law is the official positive legal umbrella governing penghulu affairs. This research is normative legal research employing a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. Meanwhile, the primary legal materials of this research consist of various laws and regulations directly related to penghulu affairs. The results of this research indicate that the opportunities for female penghulu within the civil law system are very open, constitutionally valid, and not subject to any normative prohibition. The problems arise when female penghulu are requested to act as guardians appointed by the court (wali hakim) or entrusted with the delegated guardianship of marriage (taukil wali). This is because, under Indonesia’s civil law, a wali hakim or a person receiving taukil wali is required to be male. In addition, another problem is the existence of a specific requirement to be male that must be fulfilled in the recruitment of penghulu personnel as stated in the Announcement Letter on the Recruitment of Candidates for Civil Servants of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

This study investigates biomass-derived surface engineering of AISI 1020 steel for electromedical applications using galam wood charcoal and chicken bone waste as carburizing media. Surface modification is required to improve the mechanical performance of low-carbon steel, particularly in applications that demand high wear resistance and long-term durability. A pack carburizing approach was applied using various ratios of biomass-derived media at a treatment temperature of 800 °C for 2 hours. Chemical composition was analyzed using Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES), surface hardness was evaluated using Micro Vickers hardness testing, and microstructural characteristics were observed using optical microscopy. The results show a significant increase in surface carbon content with increasing fractions of chicken bone powder, indicating its effectiveness as a carbon donor and diffusion promoter. The surface hardness increased from approximately 150 HV in the untreated condition to a maximum of about 860 HV in the treated specimen. Microstructural observations revealed the formation of a distinct carburized layer with increasing thickness and uniformity, consistent with enhanced carbon diffusion and surface strengthening. These findings demonstrate that biomass-derived surface engineering provides an effective and sustainable approach for improving the surface properties of low-carbon steel. The proposed method offers strong potential for environmentally friendly manufacturing of durable and reliable electromedical components.

The development of esport has expanded beyond the entertainment industry and has increasingly become a strategic instrument in international relations, particularly in the practice of public diplomacy. Indonesia’s role as the host of the M4 World Championship 2023 represents a significant example of how esport events can be utilized to engage international audiences and project national roles. This study aims to analyze how Indonesia employed the M4 World Championship 2023 as a tool of public diplomacy. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected from secondary sources through documentation and literature review, including official government publications, organizer reports, media coverage, and academic literature. The analytical framework is based on Nicholas J. Cull’s theory of public diplomacy, with a specific focus on the advocacy function and the cultural function. The findings indicate that the Indonesian government, in collaboration with non-state actors such as PBESI, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and Moonton Games, strategically utilized the M4 World Championship as a platform to advocate Indonesia’s role in the global esports ecosystem and to promote Indonesian cultural elements to international audiences. Community service with the theme of Socialization and Education of Legal Products for MSME and Creative Economy Actors in Temberan Village, Pangkalpinang City, is based on field conditions, where many MSME actors in the region do not have legal legality for the businesses they run and lack basic knowledge regarding product packaging and brand creation that have high marketability. As a result, their businesses are not developing to strengthen the creative economy and enhance the capacity of actors. The model used in this program is a direct dialogue method with the MSME actors. The discussion results showed that of the 26 participants, only 1 MSME actor had received guidance and had an NIB (Business Identification Number), but lacked a halal certificate and patent rights for their product brands. The other 25 participants were briefed for the first time regarding the importance of legal legitimacy for their business. Therefore, it can be concluded that these 25 MSME actors do not have legal legitimacy for their businesses. The team provided assistance to help register their businesses by collaborating with relevant agencies. Regarding product branding, it was found that all participants had not optimized their product branding, as most MSME actors in Temberan Village packaged their products simply without attractive branding, packaging, colors, or packaging materials. Many even used plastic wrapping without a brand. The team intervened intensively by providing further assistance to MSME actors in Temberan Village, utilizing information and communication technology to help determine product brands for those without one and to select packaging materials that follow current trends, shapes, colors, and materials to make the product more attractive and increase branding and consumer interest.

This study aims to describe the implementation of ethical philosophy learning and the assessment pattern for student learning outcomes at the KH. Ahmad Sanusi Sukabumi Institute (INKHAS). Ethical philosophy is understood as a critical study of good and bad values in human actions, which not only accepts moral teachings normatively, but examines them rationally and in depth. In the learning process, this course applies discussion and dialogue methods as the main approach to encourage students to think critically, express opinions argumentatively, and build mutual respect. The lecturer acts as a facilitator who directs the discussion, instills academic ethics, and maintains a scientific learning flow. The assessment pattern does not focus on memorizing theories, but rather on students' analytical abilities as measured through discussion participation, individual assignments, and group assignments. The results of the study indicate that this method is effective in developing students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and moral awareness, although obstacles such as lack of motivation in some students due to the abstract nature of the material are still found. Overall, ethical philosophy learning at INKHAS plays an important role in shaping ethical character, reflective thinking, and responsible attitudes in academic and social life.

Philosophy learning has a strategic role in shaping students' critical, reflective, and rational thinking skills. However, the main challenge faced in this learning process is to determine assessment and evaluation methods that are in accordance with the character of philosophy that are abstract and argumentative. This study aims to describe the method, assessment, and evaluation of philosophy learning based on the results of an in-depth interview with STISIP lecturer Syamsul Ulum. The research approach used is qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, so that a comprehensive picture of philosophy learning practices in higher education is obtained. The results of the study show that discussion methods, case studies, and critical reflection are the most effective approaches in improving the quality of philosophy learning. The assessment is more focused on the student's thinking process, not solely on the final result, while the evaluation is directed at changing the way of thinking and the intellectual maturity of the students. These findings confirm that philosophy learning is not only oriented towards mastery of the material, but also on the formation of a critical, reflective, and ethical mindset that is an important provision for students in dealing with the complexities of academic and social life. Thus, philosophy learning plays a role as a means of intellectual development as well as student morals.

This study was conducted to analyze the causes of occupational accidents and to identify potential hazards in the material cutting process at PT Kanaan Global Indonesia using the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) approach. The high number of occupational accidents, totaling 15 cases during the period of December 2024–May 2025, indicates the existence of gaps in occupational safety control in this area. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with workers, and the collection of historical data from the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) unit. Risk analysis was carried out using a risk matrix to determine likelihood and severity values, followed by JSA for each work stage. The results identified 25 potential hazards, consisting of 4 risks in the extreme category, 9 in the high category, 7 in the medium category, and 5 in the low category. High-risk hazards were predominantly found in roll cutting and cutting press machines, which are characterized by mechanical hazards. Control recommendations focus on the implementation of engineering controls such as the installation of guarding systems and safety light curtains, improvements in safe work procedures, and increased discipline in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). These findings demonstrate that the JSA method provides a comprehensive overview of risk sources and serves as an effective basis for formulating occupational accident control strategies within the company.

MSMEs Traditional culinary MSMEs play a vital role in the Indonesian economy through job creation, income equality, and preservation of local culture. However, limited capital, raw materials, and labor, as well as unsystematic production planning, mean that MSME production decisions are still intuitive, leading to inefficiencies and suboptimal profits. A case study of MSME Sostang Tijang Bruno, a Sundanese cireng producer, shows that cireng production is still based on experience without clear calculations, resulting in a mismatch between production and demand and waste of raw materials. This study aims to optimize cireng production volume using the Graphical Linier Programming method to maximize profits by considering constraints on raw materials, working time, and market capacity. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The decision variables were the production volume of original chicken-filled cireng and spicy chicken-filled cireng. The analysis results showed an optimal production combination of 2.93 kg of original chicken-filled cireng and 0.53 kg of spicy chicken-filled cireng with a maximum profit of Rp499,000 per day. This method is expected to help MSMEs make more efficient and rational production decisions
