Islamic education plays a vital role not only in cognitive development but also in nurturing students’ moral and spiritual values, which significantly contribute to emotional intelligence. This study explores how Islamic education aids in developing students' abilities to recognize, manage, and express emotions in positive and constructive ways. Core Islamic principles such as patience (ṣabr), trust in God (tawakkul), and maintaining good relationships (silaturrahim) are emphasized as essential components in shaping emotional resilience and empathy. By integrating these values into the curriculum, Islamic education fosters a supportive and value-based learning environment that encourages holistic development. The study highlights that emotional intelligence in Islamic education is not treated as a separate discipline but as an integral part of character formation and spiritual growth. Through classroom practices, religious teachings, and interpersonal interactions, students are guided to internalize emotional maturity aligned with ethical and spiritual ideals. As a result, Islamic education contributes to the balanced development of intellect, emotion, and morality, equipping students with the emotional and social skills necessary for personal well-being and community life.

Heatwaves are becoming more frequent and severe, posing significant health risks, especially for vulnerable populations in urban areas. In response to this, green-exercise interventions, which combine physical activity with exposure to green spaces, offer a promising strategy for mitigating heat-related health risks. This study evaluates the effectiveness of green-exercise interventions in reducing heat-related mortality risks in heat-vulnerable communities. The research follows a longitudinal design, collecting data on physical activity, vegetation indices (NDVI), and heat-related mortality rates in urban areas prone to heatwaves. The findings reveal that green-exercise interventions resulted in up to an 18% reduction in heat-related mortality risks, demonstrating the significant impact of physical activity in natural environments. Moreover, positive correlations were found between increased green space and reduced health risks during heatwaves, emphasizing the importance of urban greening in mitigating the effects of extreme heat. Participants who engaged in outdoor physical activity in green spaces showed greater resilience to heat stress compared to those who opted for indoor exercises, underscoring the added benefits of natural environments for physical and mental health. However, the effectiveness of these interventions varied depending on environmental and behavioral factors, including the quality of green spaces and individual motivation to engage in outdoor activities. This study highlights the need for further research into the long-term effects of green-exercise interventions and the combined impact of socio-economic and environmental factors on health outcomes. The findings suggest that urban greening and physical activity in green spaces should be integrated into public health strategies, particularly in heat-vulnerable areas.

Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in their ability to face challenges and achieve goals. In guidance and counseling, self-efficacy is an important factor that affects individual development. One effective method to improve self-efficacy is group counseling with the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach. This approach focuses on changing negative thought patterns, increasing self-confidence, and strengthening individual skills through social support in groups. This study uses the literature review method to analyze the effectiveness of CBT-based group counseling in improving self-efficacy. The results showed that CBT-based group counseling provides a supportive environment for individuals to share experiences, obtain social support, and learn from other group members. Through this process, individuals can increase their self-confidence, develop social skills, and form a more positive mindset. In addition, CBT also helps individuals manage their emotions, cope with stress, and increase their resilience in facing life's challenges.

The development of digital technology has changed many aspects of people's lives, including in terms of social justice. On the one hand, digitalization opens up access to information and accelerates global connectivity. However, on the other hand, various serious challenges have emerged in law enforcement. Inequality in access to technology, algorithmic bias, and the rise of cybercrime are the main issues that test the resilience of the current legal system. This paper aims to explore how the law can play an effective and responsive role in maintaining social justice in the digital era. With a qualitative approach based on literature studies, this article presents an analysis of various current academic literature discussing law, social justice, and technology. The results show that the legal system must be able to adapt quickly, not only at the regulatory level, but also in institutional structures and community participation. The role of society is key to building inclusive and sustainable digital justice. Therefore, law in the digital era is not enough to be just a set of rules, but must be a tool for social empowerment that is able to respond to the dynamics of the times without abandoning the values of justice. Collaboration between stakeholders and strengthening digital literacy are important elements in creating a digital space that is fair for all.

This study investigates the effect of role stress and job resources on emotional exhaustion, with work-family conflict as a mediating variable among higher education personnel. Employing a quantitative research design with a causality analysis approach, data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The sample consisted of 200 educational staff at XYZ institution in Bogor Regency, including civil servants, permanent employees, and contract workers. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) technique with SmartPLS 3 software. The findings revealed that role stress has a positive and significant impact on emotional exhaustion, indicating that increased stress from role demands contributes to higher levels of emotional fatigue. Conversely, job resources were found to have no significant direct effect on emotional exhaustion. Furthermore, work-family conflict significantly mediated the relationship between role stress and emotional exhaustion, suggesting that stress from conflicting work and family demands intensifies emotional exhaustion. However, work-family conflict did not mediate the relationship between job resources and emotional exhaustion. These results emphasize the critical need for effective stress management strategies and support systems that can help reduce work-family conflict to maintain the emotional well-being of education personnel. This study contributes to understanding the psychological dynamics in the workplace and provides insight into improving employee resilience and productivity in educational institutions.

This study examines the payment practices for haircut services at the Ma’had Al-Zaytun Barbershop through the lens of al-maslahah theory. Employing a qualitative field‐research design, data were collected via observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. Findings reveal a centralized payment system handled at the Al-Zaytun Store, accommodating both cash and cashless transactions. Cashless payments are processed by deducting students’ savings or via mobile banking for the general clientele. Classified as ḥājiyyah maslahah, this system facilitates financial record-keeping and offers flexible payment options. It also attains the ḍarūriyyah level by preventing losses and safeguarding the barbershop’s assets. The provision of receipts and precise financial reporting embodies the principles of justice, clarity, honesty, and social welfare. Nevertheless, the absence of a written policy on receipt validity may generate misunderstandings and weaken these principles. Overall, the payment practice aligns with the objectives of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, particularly the protection of wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl).

The rise of authoritarian leadership in higher education institutions has become a pressing global issue, affecting academic freedom, institutional autonomy, and the wellbeing of faculty and students. This phenomenon, observed not only in traditionally authoritarian countries but also in democratic contexts, manifests through centralized power, top-down decision-making, and suppression of critical voices. Despite its growing prevalence, empirical research on authoritarian leadership in academia remains limited, with significant gaps in understanding its contextual dynamics, direct impacts on academic communities, and cross-cultural variations. Recent studies have introduced novel theoretical frameworks tailored to academic settings and employed innovative mixed-method approaches to explore mediating factors such as emotional exhaustion and moderating personality traits. These advances have highlighted the complex and contextual nature of authoritarian leadership’s effects, which generally undermine innovation, morale, and performance, although it may increase compliance in specific situations. The negative consequences of authoritarian leadership are evident in reduced creativity and critical thinking, which are fundamental to the academic mission. Faculty members and students may experience heightened stress, diminished job satisfaction, and a decline in engagement. However, some studies suggest that in certain environments, authoritarian leadership can impose order and enhance efficiency in situations requiring immediate decisions. This paper underscores the urgent need for further research and practical interventions to promote adaptive, collaborative, and wellbeing-oriented leadership models in higher education. Such leadership approaches are essential to foster institutional resilience, democratic governance, and inclusive educational practices in an era of global uncertainty and disruption. By shifting towards more participatory leadership styles, higher education institutions can better address the evolving needs of faculty and students, ensuring a thriving academic environment that supports innovation, diversity of thought, and overall wellbeing.

Children in conflict with the law (ABH) are part of a vulnerable group that requires a special legal approach and social protection. The development of the concept of the juvenile criminal justice system in Indonesia has undergone a significant transformation since the enactment of Law No. 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA). This law emphasizes the importance of a restorative justice approach and the resolution of juvenile cases from the formal justice system to a more humane and rehabilitative form. The Correctional Center (BAPAS) as an institution tasked with carrying out guidance and supervision of correctional clients including children, plays a central role in this process. Starting from the pre-adjudication, adjudication, to post-adjudication stages, BAPAS is responsible for ensuring that children's rights are protected and children receive guidance in accordance with the principle of the best interest of the child. However, in practice, there are still many challenges in implementing the role of BAPAS. Starting from limited resources, lack of coordination between institutions, to delays in the preparation of community service and child assistance. Therefore, it is necessary to review the effectiveness and challenges in implementing the BAPAS function within the framework of child rehabilitation and reintegration.

This study examines the social and cultural values in the drama script Gerbong by Agam Wispi through a literary anthropology approach. The research is grounded in the role of literature as a reflection of socio-cultural values, with Gerbong selected for its rich portrayal of post-revolution Indonesian societal dynamics, which has yet to be holistically analyzed from an anthropological perspective. The aim is to identify the manifestations of socio-cultural values through dramatic structures such as dialogue, characterization, and conflict. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, analyzing narrative and symbolic elements within the script. Findings reveal that social values are reflected in non-familial solidarity, critiques of revolutionary injustice, humanism amid adversity, and women’s resistance to stigmatization. Cultural values emerge through the gerbong (train carriage) as a metaphor for resilience, collective sacrifice, and a belief in independence preserved through oral traditions. Intergenerational conflicts between colonial and post-independence values highlight cultural dynamics in postcolonial transition. The study recommends integrating the script into educational curricula, exploring its performative dimensions, and conducting further interdisciplinary research on power relations and gender representation.

This meta-analysis systematically and comprehensively examines the structural and functional roles of the extended family in moderating the psychological impact of war trauma in the Middle East by compiling data from 47 independent studies involving 12,483 participants published between 2000 and 2023. An analytical approach using a random-effects model revealed that the presence and involvement of the extended family demonstrated a statistically significant moderating effect on the reduction of PTSD symptoms, anxiety, and depression, with an association strength of r = .42 (p < .001). Further meta-regression results indicated that support from the extended family contributed to a 37.8% reduction in PTSD symptoms (β = -.378, SE = .042, p < .001), a 29.4% decrease in anxiety levels (β = -.294, SE = .038, p < .001), and a 31.2% reduction in depressive symptoms (β = -.312, SE = .040, p < .001). Analysis of moderator variables showed that the protective effect of the extended family structure was more pronounced among children (r = .48) compared to the adult population (r = .38) and more salient among females (r = .45) than males (r = .39), indicating demographic sensitivity to the type of collective support received. Moreover, the high heterogeneity across studies (I² = 76.3%) indicated significant contextual and methodological diversity, though it did not obscure the core findings. These results contradict the theoretical emphasis advanced by Nakeyar and Frewen (2016) and Atallah (2017), who prioritized the role of the nuclear family in post-war healing contexts. In contrast, this study found that the extended family configuration has provided a more comprehensive and multidimensional form of psychological protection rooted in the distinct collectivistic values of Middle Eastern societies. Ultimately, these findings expand the conceptual horizon for understanding resilience mechanisms to trauma within non-Western cultural landscapes and open new possibilities for developing extended family-based interventions in the context of post-conflict psychosocial reconstruction.

The principle of proportionality plays an important role in ensuring the balance of rights and obligations between the parties in a reciprocal agreement. In the context of Indonesian contract law, this principle functions as a mechanism to prevent inequality that can harm one of the parties, especially in commercial and complex contracts. As stated by Hernoko (2016), the application of the principle of proportionality in commercial contracts aims to create substantive justice through a balanced exchange of rights and obligations between the parties. This study uses a normative legal approach with a literature study method, which involves an analysis of related laws and regulations and case studies. This approach allows researchers to explore the application of the principle of proportionality in various types of reciprocal agreements, including franchise agreements and construction service contracts. For example, a study by Susanto et al. (2021)1 highlights how the principle of proportionality is applied in construction service contracts to ensure a fair distribution of responsibilities between contractors and clients. The results of the analysis show that consistent application of the principle of proportionality can improve justice in contractual relationships. In franchise agreements, for example, Rahmawan et al. (2020)2 found that the application of this principle helps create a balance between the rights and obligations of franchisors and franchisees, who often have different bargaining positions. Thus, the principle of proportionality functions not only as a legal principle, but also as a practical tool to achieve justice in contractual practices.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Bible study worship in shaping Christian character among Naposo Bulung (church youth) at HKI Resort Khusus Sidikalang Kota. Field observations revealed that many youth were not fully engaged in worship activities, often distracted by mobile phones, chatting during services, and showing a lack of appreciation for spiritual advice. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using observation and interviews with active participants of Bible study worship. The results show that Bible study worship significantly contributes to enhancing worship discipline, deepening theological understanding, and developing Christian values such as love, forgiveness, humility, and spiritual responsibility. Despite challenges such as busy schedules and digital distractions, a contextual approach to Bible study effectively addresses both the spiritual and social needs of Naposo Bulung. Therefore, Bible study worship proves to be an effective means of holistic character formation for the church's younger generation—spiritually, morally, and socially. This activity should continue to be developed and adapted to contemporary contexts so that the church can shape resilient young people in faith and Christian character.
