This study investigates the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and corporate financial distress, with board gender diversity examined as a moderating variable. Using 96 firm-year observations from manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (2022–2024), the analysis employs variance-based Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The findings reveal that ESG performance does not exert a statistically significant effect on financial distress, and gender diversity does not moderate this relationship. These non-significant results constitute the central empirical contribution of the study, highlighting that ESG engagement and gender diversity have yet to translate into financial resilience in the Indonesian manufacturing context. The study underscores the importance of contextual factors—such as implementation costs, authenticity of ESG disclosures, and limited female representation on boards—in shaping the effectiveness of sustainability practices. The results provide theoretical implications for Stakeholder and Agency Theory and offer practical insights for managers, regulators, and investors in emerging markets.

General education at Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) plays an important role in developing students’ critical thinking skills so they can analyze religious and social issues reflectively and contextually. However, learning practices in PTKI are still dominated by teacher-centered approaches and low cognitive achievement, which limits the development of analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. Meanwhile, studies show that integrating digital media, particularly video, can improve conceptual understanding, motivation, and cognitive engagement, yet a digital video-based meaningful learning model specifically designed for the PTKI context remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to formulate a Digital Video-Based Meaningful Learning Model (MPBBVD) to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. This research employed a literature review method by analyzing books, scientific articles, research reports, and digital sources related to meaningful learning, constructivism, multimedia learning, digital video use, and critical thinking development. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively to identify the theoretical foundations, learning syntax, and design principles of the model. The findings indicate that MPBBVD integrates Ausubel’s Meaningful Learning theory, constructivist perspectives from Piaget, Vygotsky, and Bruner, Mayer’s Multimedia Learning theory, and the critical thinking framework of Facione and Ennis. The model uses digital video as the main learning medium and applies the ACTIVE stages (Attend, Connect, Think, Interpret, Verify, Evaluate) to promote contextual and interactive learning. Integrating pre-, during-, and post-video activities supports knowledge construction, reduces cognitive load, and increases student engagement, contributing theoretically and practically to improving critical thinking in PTKI in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era.

Sarcasm is a literary device and one of the most expressive forms of figurative language, often used to convey humor, criticism, or emotional tension in both daily conversation and literature. This study explores the use of sarcasm in William Shakespeare‟s Much Ado About Nothing by applying Elizabeth Camp‟s (2011) typology, which classifies sarcasm into four types: propositional, lexical, illocutionary, and like-prefixed sarcasm. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the researchers collected all sarcastic utterances from the play, classified them according to Camp‟s framework, and analyzed their pragmatic functions in the dramatic context. The findings reveal a total of 50 sarcastic utterances, with propositional sarcasm being the most frequent (42%), followed by illocutionary sarcasm (28%), lexical sarcasm (24%), and like-prefixed sarcasm (6%). These results indicate that sarcasm serves as both a comedic and dramatic device, shaping character interactions, driving conflicts, and reinforcing Elizabethan cultural norms. Beatrice and Benedick‟s witty verbal duels exemplify how sarcasm fosters humor and intimacy, while Claudio‟s sarcasm highlights themes of honor and social tension. Overall, the study demonstrates that sarcasm in Shakespeare‟s play is not merely humorous banter but a sophisticated rhetorical strategy that enhances characterization, thematic depth, and audience engagement.

The mathematics learning outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 3 Bontang on Rational Numbers are still relatively low. Data from the 2019 National Examination (UN) shows an average math score of 46.43, which is in the "poor" category. Summative assessment results indicate that most students have not yet achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). This situation indicates that the learning process tends to be conventional and lacks active student engagement. Therefore, a more innovative learning model is needed, one of which is the Team Games Tournament (TGT), which combines group work, competition, and educational games. This study aims to determine the effect of the TGT learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Bontang in the topic of Rational Numbers. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type and a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The study population was 203 seventh-grade students in the 2024/2025 academic year, with a sample consisting of class VII A as the experimental group (33 students) and class VII F as the control group (34 students), selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a five-item essay test. The analysis results showed that the average posttest of the experimental group was 67.848, higher than the control group at 61.794. The Independent Sample t-Test produced a significance value of 0.031 <0.05, so H₀ was rejected. This indicates that the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model has a significant effect on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes in the Rational Numbers material.

India faces a persistent civic deficit reflected in weak civic sense, low compliance with public norms, and a structural imbalance between rights and duties. Although ancient Indian traditions emphasized collective responsibility, colonial legacies, institutional weaknesses, and growing socioeconomic disparities have eroded civic culture. This study employs qualitative content analysis using historical texts, constitutional provisions, judicial interpretations, comparative international case studies, and interdisciplinary scholarly literature. Thematic coding is used to analyze the socio-legal, political, and educational roots of India’s civic deficit. Findings reveal that India’s civic deficit stems from interconnected structural factors: weak enforcement of laws, lack of experiential civic education, limited trust in institutions, political interference, and socioeconomic inequality. Comparative insights from Japan, Nordic countries, Singapore, and Brazil demonstrate that civic sense improves when experiential education, strong institutional integrity, and participatory governance coexist. Addressing India’s civic deficit requires systemic reforms: reorienting civic education toward experiential learning, strengthening judicial independence, enforcing rules consistently, expanding participatory mechanisms, and promoting community-level ownership. Comparative models show that long-term cultural change requires both structural reforms and citizen-centered engagement.

This study examines the crisis communication strategies of the JKT48 Operational Team (JOT) following the 2025 “No Encore” incident, which emerged after the viral circulation of an inappropriate photo involving the group’s General Manager and escalated into a major reputational crisis. The controversy triggered strong fan backlash and culminated in the symbolic withdrawal of support during the Full House 2025 concert. Using a qualitative case study approach, this research analyzes organizational responses through interviews with fans, observations of social media interactions, and documentation of official statements. Data were interpreted using thematic analysis and compared with the principles of the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT). The findings show that JOT’s initial clarification was perceived as slow and insufficient, contributing to heightened dissatisfaction and crisis escalation. However, the second clarification and the introduction of FanSpace, a structured two-way dialogue forum, marked a shift toward more transparent and participatory communication. Fan responses indicate that FanSpace helped reduce tensions and demonstrated managerial willingness to listen, though full trust recovery requires consistent follow-up actions. This study highlights the importance of speed, openness, and dialogic engagement in crisis communication within fan-based entertainment industries. The implications emphasize that organizations must adopt adaptive, audience-centered communication strategies to rebuild legitimacy and restore public trust after preventable crises.

Sukacita : Jurnal Pendidikan Iman Kristen 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ilmu Pendidikan Agama dan Filsafat Indonesia

In the context of modernity, characterized by secularization and existential anxiety, traditional models of Christian faith formation often appear disconnected from the lived reality of believers, particularly regarding the doctrines of salvation and eschatology. This study investigates the crucial role of the church in bridging this gap by developing a pedagogical approach that integrally links ecclesial education with eschatological hope. Employing a qualitative descriptive analysis method, this research examines theological literature, contemporary church documents, and case studies of Christian formation programs. The analysis reveals that a robust eschatological perspective oriented towards the hope of salvation, resurrection, and the renewal of all things is not merely a final chapter of doctrine but an essential, transformative framework for all faith education. It shapes Christian identity, ethics, and mission in the present. The study concludes that for faith formation to be salvific and relevant today, the church must intentionally reconfigure its educational praxis. This reconfiguration involves moving from a compartmentalized teaching of "last things" to fostering an eschatological imagination that informs discipleship, worship, and social engagement, thereby presenting salvation as a comprehensive hope actively shaping Christian life in the modern world.
