In today's era of rapid globalization and modernization, each generation in Indonesia has distinct characteristics, particularly in their ways of thinking, interacting, and facing life's challenges. Generation Y (millennials) and Generation Z, who are now entering the world of education, have very different mindsets and adaptation methods compared to previous generations. One of the major challenges faced by educators is how to address these differences, particularly in teaching Islamic religious values and shaping students' religious character amidst the rapid development of technology and social dynamics. The transition from Generation Y to Generation Z brings significant changes in the world of education, particularly for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. Generation Z, more familiar with digital technology and the internet, often has a more interactive and visual learning style. They tend to prioritize fast and easily accessible information, and are more open to global cultural influences. This phenomenon presents new challenges for PAI teachers in delivering Islamic religious learning materials that are contextual, relevant, and easily understood by students. The transformation of PAI teachers in shaping students' religious character in this transitional era requires a deep understanding of existing social, technological, and cultural changes. Islamic Religious Education teachers are not only required to possess in-depth knowledge of religious teachings but also to be able to adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of today's students. For example, the use of digital technology in Islamic religious education can facilitate students' access to various relevant information sources, such as Islamic preaching videos, Islamic learning apps, or e-books that can enhance their understanding.

family conflict is portrayed in the film Uang Panai Maha(R)l 2 using Roland Barthes' semiotic framework. The film reflects the social reality of the Bugis-Makassar community, which highly upholds cultural values, particularly regarding arranged marriage, family honor, and the significant role of parents in their children's lives. The main objective of this research is to understand how family conflict is represented through visible and spoken symbols within the film’s narrative. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method by analyzing semiotic elements in several scenes that depict conflict, such as forced marriage, intergenerational differences, and the pressure of tradition against personal desires. The analysis is conducted through the three levels of meaning proposed by Barthes: denotation, connotation, and myth. The results show that Uang Panai Maha(R)l 2 illustrates the tension between traditional values and modern realities, which still occur within family life in Indonesia.

This final project report aims to explain the application of a three-act structure in writing a feature video script entitled "Bamboo Melody: Reviving a Traditional Symphony." The three-act structure is used as a narrative approach that functions to raise the issue of the fading of the angklung's sound philosophy among Generation Z. Each act plays an important role in building a structured and easily understood storyline for the audience. The first act focuses on the introduction of the angklung's philosophical meaning. In this act, the audience is invited to understand more deeply about the cultural values contained in the angklung, especially through the perspective of angklung craftsmen who have a direct relationship with the creation of this traditional musical instrument. The explanations from the craftsmen provide an overview of how the angklung is not only a musical instrument, but also a symbol of a profound philosophy of life. The second act highlights the crisis of cultural regeneration, which is a major challenge in preserving traditions. In this act, the perspective of cultural experts is introduced to provide an analysis of how the younger generation, especially Generation Z, is increasingly alienated from traditional cultural values, including the angklung. Cultural experts explain various factors that cause the angklung and other cultural values to be less familiar to the younger generation, who are more accustomed to global popular culture. The third act demonstrates concrete efforts to preserve angklung culture through testimonies from young angklung players and performances at Saung Angklung Udjo. Through this performance, the audience sees how the angklung remains relevant and can be revived by involving a younger generation that is adaptable to developments in media and technology. The story's conclusion illustrates that cultural regeneration can be achieved through a creative approach and the active involvement of the younger generation, so that the angklung's sound philosophy becomes more than just a discourse but can also contribute to social harmony relevant to the current context.

This study aims to analyze the structural, cultural, and institutional barriers affecting women's political representation in Indonesia and to formulate strategic recommendations to strengthen the effectiveness of affirmative action policies. Although a 30% quota policy for women's representation on legislative candidate lists has been implemented, this achievement generally only serves as an administrative requirement and does not guarantee substantive opportunities in the political process. The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach based on secondary data obtained from official government documents, international organization reports, statistical publications, and previous research. The analysis shows that structural barriers manifest themselves in the placement of the majority of female legislative candidates on less strategic ticket numbers, resulting in low electability, and significant disparities in access to campaign funding between male and female candidates. Cultural barriers include entrenched gender stereotypes, reflected in surveys showing that only around 35% of the public supports female political leadership. Institutional barriers are also evident in the low representation of women in the executive and judicial branches, with only one female governor and one female constitutional judge currently serving. Based on these findings, the study recommends several strategic steps, including strengthening substantive affirmative action policies through regulating legislative candidate ticket numbers, providing equal affirmative action campaign funding, implementing career acceleration schemes for women in public office, implementing programs to strengthen women's political capacity, and promoting gender literacy campaigns to change public perceptions. This study emphasizes that the success of affirmative action policies cannot simply rely on quota regulations, but requires multi-level interventions that include legislative reform, improvements to political recruitment mechanisms, and transformation of social values. These integrated efforts are expected to encourage a sustainable increase in women's political representation and achieve gender equality in the Indonesian political system.

This Final Project report discusses the visual design process by the author as Director of Photography (DoP) in the creation of a feature video entitled "Bamboo Melody: Reviving a Traditional Symphony." This work aims to highlight the challenges faced in preserving the art of angklung music in the modern era, particularly the low interest of Generation Z in traditional culture. Angklung, which is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages, is experiencing a regeneration crisis, where the successors of this tradition are decreasing. In this context, it is important to convey the meaning and cultural values of angklung to the younger generation in a relevant and engaging way. The method of writing this report uses a descriptive approach that includes three production stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. Each stage is designed systematically and reflectively to ensure that the intended message is well received by the audience. In the pre-production stage, the author designed a visual concept that aligns with the theme and purpose of the work, namely to depict the meaningful philosophy of the angklung sound. In the production stage, shooting techniques were carefully selected to ensure aesthetics and clear communication in each frame. The results of the application of appropriate shooting techniques are proven to be able to present the philosophical value of angklung aesthetically and communicatively. Through powerful visuals, viewers can experience the depth of meaning behind this traditional musical instrument. Furthermore, this work concludes with testimonials from young angklung players and an angklung performance at Saung Angklung Udjo, illustrating concrete efforts to preserve angklung culture. This section emphasizes the importance of youth involvement in cultural regeneration, demonstrating that with a creative approach, the angklung's sound philosophy can be revived and well-received by Generation Z. Therefore, this work not only conveys solutions in the form of discourse but also provides a concrete illustration of cultural preservation through contemporary media that is accessible and understandable to the younger generation.

Limited access to learning resources appropriate to the local context presents a challenge in the mathematics learning process in indigenous communities such as the Baduy Tribe. Conventional mathematics learning is often considered too abstract and less relevant to the daily lives of Baduy children, especially in the Outer Baduy region. To address this challenge, this community service activity aims to introduce contextual mathematics learning media based on the surrounding environment and local culture. The media developed is designed to be easily accessible, affordable, and environmentally friendly, while still respecting prevailing traditional values. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), with a collaborative approach between a team of lecturers and the Outer Baduy community. The activity implementation process includes six stages, namely: identification of local problems and potential, planning, designing learning media, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of activity results. The results of the activity show an increase in interest and understanding of basic mathematics concepts among Outer Baduy children. Children appear more active, enthusiastic, and confident in participating in the learning process through educational games and concrete activities. The media used utilizes natural objects and local cultural elements, such as woodcuts, ancient angklungs, traditional hats, and distinctive Baduy woven motifs. The community responded positively because these media do not conflict with traditional values. This activity has had positive cognitive and social impacts and strengthened awareness of the importance of a contextual and culturally based educational approach as a relevant and inclusive learning strategy.

This study aims to describe the role of school management in developing local culture-based education. Local culture-based education is a learning approach that integrates local cultural values as a contextual, relevant, and meaningful learning resource for students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method in an elementary school that has successfully implemented local culture comprehensively in various aspects of learning activities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results show that school management plays a strategic role in formulating policies, supporting culture-based learning programs, and establishing partnerships with the community for cultural preservation. The principal, teachers, and education staff actively integrate local cultural elements into the curriculum, extracurricular activities, and the learning environment. Despite facing challenges such as limited resources and lack of training for educators, this school is able to demonstrate a strong and consistent commitment to making local culture the foundation for character and identity formation for students. This study confirms that collaboration between stakeholders is key to success in realizing education rooted in local wisdom. By involving parents and the community, schools can create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment. These findings demonstrate that community involvement in the educational process not only enriches students' learning experiences but also strengthens their sense of belonging to local culture. This research significantly contributes to the development of educational models that focus not only on academic aspects but also on the development of student character and identity rooted in local cultural values. Through this approach, it is hoped that students will grow into individuals who are not only academically intelligent but also have an awareness and appreciation for their own culture.

In the digital era, Christians face significant challenges in maintaining an authentic spirituality amidst a continuous stream of information and the influence of popular culture that often contradicts biblical values. The command in Romans 12:2 to "not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" remains highly relevant, yet its practical application in contemporary Christian life is frequently overlooked. This study aims to explore the theological depth of Romans 12:2, identify the dominant patterns of worldly thought in the digital age, and develop a contextual and applicable framework for transformative Christian spirituality. Utilizing a qualitative method with a library research approach, data were gathered from theological works, biblical commentaries, and scholarly literature on spirituality, culture, and digital engagement. The study reveals that the renewal of the mind refers not only to a personal inner change but to a reorientation of worldview through the power of the Holy Spirit. This transformation involves resisting cultural tendencies such as self-image obsession on social media, intellectual complacency caused by technological convenience, and the rise of individualistic spirituality detached from community life. To address these challenges, the study proposes several implementation strategies: fostering deeper biblical literacy contextualized to current issues, cultivating critical thinking as a form of spiritual discipline, and nurturing accountability within faith communities. These elements form a holistic framework of contemporary Christian spirituality that is Christ-centered, critically aware, and outward-focused in mission. The implications of this framework suggest that Christian spirituality in the digital era must engage both heart and mind, remain rooted in Scripture, and be lived out in communal and missional contexts.

The disruption era, marked by rapid technological development and socio-cultural transformation, presents significant challenges to the spiritual and character formation of young children. In this dynamic context, Christian Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers are not merely facilitators of learning but are also expected to act as spiritual leaders and moral role models. These responsibilities require a form of leadership that is not only rooted in biblical principles but also adaptive to the shifting demands of the digital age. This study aims to (1) identify the core challenges faced by Christian ECE teachers in the disruption era, (2) examine Christ-centered leadership values, and (3) propose an adaptive spiritual leadership model suitable for Christian ECE settings. Utilizing a qualitative approach through a literature review, data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings highlight two main categories of challenges: external challenges such as the influence of digital media, shifting values in society, and increased parental expectations; and internal challenges including limited teacher capacity, spiritual stagnation, and institutional gaps. In response, this research proposes the "Three-Pillar Adaptive Spiritual Leadership Model," which emphasizes: (1) the teacher's internal spiritual formation and integrity, (2) the implementation of innovative and contextually relevant pedagogical strategies grounded in Christian values, and (3) synergistic collaboration with families and church communities as key support systems. This model provides a conceptual and practical framework for Christian educational institutions to empower teachers in forming resilient, Christ-like character in children. Pharmacist professionalism is a key component in ensuring the quality of pharmaceutical services, encompassing not only compliance with technical and scientific standards but also a deep commitment to moral and ethical principles. In the Indonesian cultural context, the concept of "medicine as a trust" (obat sebagai amanah) reflects a profound sense of responsibility, where medicine is viewed not merely as a commodity, but as a mandate that must be preserved with integrity and accountability in health care practices. This article conceptually explores the relationship between pharmacist professionalism and the moral value of trust within the framework of the Nusantara constitutional theory. This theory emphasizes the integration of legal, cultural, and moral dimensions in shaping professional conduct in Indonesia. Using a descriptive-critical approach through literature review, this study investigates how trust functions as both a legal expectation and a cultural imperative in the practice of pharmacy. The findings highlight that trust must be internalized as a core value in pharmaceutical services—manifested through ethical decision-making, transparency in drug management, and a commitment to prioritizing patient welfare. Pharmacists are not only required to uphold professional standards, but also to carry out their duties as custodians of public trust. To realize this vision, the integration of the value of trust into pharmacy education, legal regulations, and clinical practice is essential. Educational institutions, professional organizations, and regulatory bodies must work collaboratively to instill this value as part of a pharmacist’s identity. In doing so, the profession can contribute more effectively to building a health care system that is just, culturally grounded, and centered on the well-being of the people.

This study aims to improve the understanding of macapat songs by applying the Jigsaw cooperative learning approach. Although macapat songs have high moral and intellectual values, students often dislike them because they are considered complex and irrelevant. This study used the McTaggart model consisting of two cycles, combined with the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. Data were collected through various techniques, including observation, tests, interviews, and note-taking, and then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that students' understanding of the meaning of macapat songs increased significantly when the Jigsaw model was applied. The learning completion rate increased from 56% to 100%, while the average student score also increased from 72.33 in the pre-cycle to 86.6 in the first cycle. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the Jigsaw approach in improving student understanding. In addition, this method also succeeded in encouraging active student participation, increasing their confidence in class discussions, and fostering respect for the rich local culture. Thus, teaching local Javanese language through the Jigsaw cooperative learning paradigm can be considered an interesting and effective alternative approach. This approach not only helps students understand the material better but also strengthens their social and cultural skills. This research provides an important contribution to the development of more innovative and relevant teaching methods in the context of regional language learning, and encourages teachers to implement strategies that can increase students' interest and understanding of the valuable and diverse local culture. Through the application of this method, it is hoped that students will gain a greater appreciation for their cultural heritage.

This article explains the Bakaua ritual at sacred graves, a tradition of the Nagari Sungai Limau community that has deep theological value. This research aims to analyze the meaning of theological values in the Bakaua ritual and how its practice can strengthen people's spiritual relationships. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research examines the spiritual, social, and cultural aspects inherent in the Bakaua tradition. The research results indicate that this ritual serves not only as a means of prayer and respect for ancestors but also as a medium for strengthening social relations and preserving local wisdom. Apart from that, the Bakaua ritual is seen as a form of asking for protection, expressing gratitude, and fulfilling vows, which reflects the close relationship between culture and theology in the life of Minangkabau society. The method used in this research is qualitative, encouraging a different approach from previous research, which only discussed Bakaua dramaturgy in the Minangkabau society. However, this paper places more emphasis on aspects of theological values in the Bakaua ritual tradition at sacred graves. This study highlights how theological meaning is embodied through symbolic practices, offerings, and communal prayers that represent submission to divine will. It also reveals how the ritual facilitates intergenerational transmission of spiritual values, maintaining continuity of belief systems in modern contexts. By analyzing community participation and oral narratives, the research uncovers deep spiritual motives rooted in Islamic beliefs intertwined with local cultural expressions. In addition, the findings underscore the community’s resilience in preserving traditional theology-based rituals despite the influence of modernization and shifts in religious interpretations. The Bakaua ritual thus becomes a cultural-theological bridge that binds generations and sustains spiritual identity within the dynamic life of the Minangkabau people.

This article discusses the dynamics of Islamic education during the Sultanate of Banten, an Islamic kingdom that developed since the 16th century and became one of the centers of Islamic civilization in the archipelago. Islamic education in Banten not only shapes the Islamic identity of the community, but also strengthens morality, social solidarity, and cultural resilience. Islamic boarding schools are the main pillars of education that integrate the teaching of religious science, character education, and socio-religious practices. The role of pesantren expands, not only as a learning center, but also as a da'wah institution that instills the values of independence, justice, and brotherhood in the midst of a multicultural society. Great scholars such as Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani and Sheikh Yusuf al-Makassari have an important role in strengthening the scientific network between Banten, the Middle East, and the Islamic world. Their profound works in the fields of jurisprudence, Sufism, and morals had a great influence on the development of Islamic thought in Southeast Asia. The pesantren curriculum that focuses on the yellow book, with the teaching methods of sorogan, bandongan, and wetonan, produces students who are not only knowledgeable, but also disciplined, moral, and sensitive to social problems. The Dutch colonial period brought severe challenges with secular policies and restrictions on Islamic education. However, pesantren still exist as spiritual and intellectual fortresses. This success is supported by the ability of pesantren to develop economic independence and expand scientific networks through the overseas migration of students to various Islamic study centers abroad. Until now, Banten's Islamic education heritage has transformed into a modern Islamic boarding school that is able to combine classical traditions with technology and global insights. This study confirms that traditional Islamic education in Banten has a strategic role in shaping the social, spiritual, and identity structure of the Muslim community, which persists across generations.

This Community Service (PkM) program aims to provide assistance in financial recording and direct involvement in the production process at the Wisnu Batik SME. The main focus of the activity is to support the sustainability of micro-enterprises based on local culture, particularly through improved management and the preservation of traditional values. The activity was carried out for two months in the form of field work practice (PKL), using participatory observation methods, semi-structured interviews, and direct documentation. One of the main results of the activity was the implementation of a quarterly financial recording system based on SIINAS (National Industrial Information System), which has been proven to improve the accuracy and transparency in the preparation of business reports. Furthermore, the direct involvement of the interns in the traditional batik production process provided important insights into the production stages, the cultural values ​​contained, and the challenges faced in maintaining quality and continuity of production. Analysis of the cost of goods manufactured (COGS) and monthly revenues showed that the Wisnu Batik SME has great potential for sustainable development if managed with a more systematic and professional approach. The synergy between good financial management and production process efficiency is an important foundation in strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs in the midst of market competition. This activity also serves as concrete evidence that collaboration between the world of education and MSMEs can encourage positive transformation in micro-business management towards a more modern, measurable, and culturally value-based direction.

The research departs from educational problems in Islamic boarding schools with distinctive educational characteristics and the diversity of cultural backgrounds of students. So researchers are interested in conducting a more in-depth analysis of a harmonious environment despite having students with diverse cultural backgrounds. The purpose of the study is to identify; 1) the characteristics of multicultural Islamic education planning, 2) the characteristics of organizing multicultural Islamic education, 3) Identification of the characteristics of implementing multicultural Islamic education, 4) Identification of the characteristics of supervision of multicultural Islamic education, 5) Analysis of the impact of the characteristics of multicultural Islamic education management in producing moderate students. The research framework departs from theory of multicultural education management in Islamic boarding schools which includes; planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising educational programs in Islamic boarding schools. Managing the elements of education in Islamic boarding schools in; objectives, values, curriculum, teaching methods and facilities and funds, carried out by the Kiyai Ustadz Santri Manager will have an impact on the attitude of religious moderation in students with indications of national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, accommodating to local culture. This study used a qualitative approach, using ethnography. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. Data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman analysis technique. The validity test is carried out with data validity by conducting tests; on credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Results of the study found that the characteristics of multicultural education management in Islamic boarding schools: First, Planning in the form of a curriculum containing multicultural values, involving various elements of the Islamic boarding school through deliberation and open meetings of curriculum preparation studies, integrating the madrasah curriculum with Islamic boarding school. Second, organizing; there is empowerment in fostering Islamic boarding schools, Conventional traditional systems, and Guidance patterns depending on the figure of kiai, the existence of organizational work procedures. Third, Implementation of education is carried out; structured through learning classification, planned, organized, and evaluated with the basic pattern of Islamic boarding school education, internalized in attitudes, methods, and exemplary behavior of the kiai. Fourth, Supervision of learning through assessment of learning of multicultural values, Tests are contextual and comprehensive. Fifth, impact of the characteristics of multicultural Islamic education management in producing students who are able to act in the middle by prioritizing Islamic brotherhood and basyariyah, are tolerant for the sake of realizing Islam rahmatan lil aalamiin.

This research examines the process of internalizing civic values within the context of multicultural education in Indonesia, which faces complex challenges in forming citizens with strong national identity while appreciating diversity. The study aims to analyze effective models and strategies for internalizing civic values in multicultural educational environments and identify implementation challenges. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach with literature study analyzing relevant academic publications from 2021-2025 through qualitative content analysis techniques. Findings indicate that internalizing civic values in multicultural education requires a holistic approach integrating cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions through learning strategies based on local wisdom, modern technology utilization, and transformative pedagogy. Main challenges include lack of stakeholder support, policy implementation gaps, and resistance to learning paradigm changes. The research indicates the need for reconstructing civic education paradigms from indoctrination models toward reflective-contextual learning that emphasizes tolerance, inclusivity, and appreciation for cultural diversity. This study aims to explore the behavioral dynamics of Generation Z (Gen Z) toward digital culinary brands on TikTok, a platform increasingly central to youth consumer engagement. The research investigates how Gen Z interacts with, interprets, and forms relationships with culinary content in a digital environment shaped by algorithmic trends and participatory culture. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 Gen Z participants aged 18–24 years who actively engage with culinary brand content on TikTok. Additional data were obtained from observational analysis of brand-related content and user interactions on the platform. Thematic analysis revealed three core themes: emotional engagement with sensory-rich food content, digital consumption as identity performance, and expectations of brand authenticity and interactivity. Participants expressed strong affective responses to visually appealing and immersive content, linked their brand preferences to personal values and social identity, and favored brands that demonstrated responsiveness, humor, and human-like interaction. These findings highlight the role of TikTok not only as a marketing tool but as a cultural space where brand perception and loyalty are socially constructed. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of consumer engagement by situating Gen Z’s behavior within a sociocultural and digital framework. Practically, it offers insights for culinary brands to develop more authentic, interactive, and value-driven content strategies. The findings also suggest implications for digital marketing policies and content regulation. Future research is recommended to explore cross-platform behaviors and cultural variations in digital brand engagement.

Cultural diversity demands communication skills that extend beyond verbal communication and encompass an understanding of cross-cultural values, emotions, and identities. This article examines cultural communication in a pluralistic society through a psychological approach, focusing on perception, stereotypes, empathy, and cognitive openness. Cultural perception shapes how individuals interpret social reality, but often results in stereotypes that simplify the characteristics of a group, which can hinder healthy communication. On the other hand, empathy—both affective and cognitive—plays a crucial role in building emotional understanding and perspectives toward people from different cultural backgrounds. Cognitive openness strengthens the ability to accept differences, avoid quick judgments, and increase awareness of social complexity. This combination of empathy and openness is the primary foundation for building effective and inclusive intercultural communication competencies. This article emphasizes that these competencies can be developed through education, cross-cultural experiences, and psychosocial training. In the era of globalization and digitalization, cross-cultural understanding is crucial for creating a harmonious environment in educational settings, organizations, and communities. Therefore, building empathetic, open, and stereotype-free communication is key to successful interactions in a multicultural society.

This study aims to improve students' creativity through the application of project-based learning models (PjBL) with modern puppet media in fine arts subjects at the Senior High School (SMA) level. The background of this study is based on the low creativity of students due to the conventional approach to fine arts learning and the lack of integration of media and technology in learning. The study was conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a descriptive qualitative approach implemented in class XI of SMA Negeri 46 Jakarta. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, learning outcome tests, and questionnaires. The results of the study showed that the application of project-based learning models with modern puppet media significantly increased teacher and student activity in the learning process, improved learning outcomes, and received positive responses from students. Modern puppets have proven to be an effective medium in stimulating imagination, strengthening local cultural values, and building student character. This study recommends the use of creatively modified traditional media as an educational tool in developing student creativity in the era of the independent curriculum. The results of the study showed that the application of project-based learning models with modern puppet media significantly increase teacher and student activities in the learning process, improve learning outcomes, and receive positive responses from students. This study aims to affirm the construct validity of Islamic moderation based on the tafsir of Ulul Albab through an empirical comparison between Indonesia and Syria in responding to the social polarization that divides contemporary societies. Through a comprehensive meta-analysis of 847 journal articles indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and PsycINFO published between 2015 and 2024, the researchers examined data from 15,428 Indonesian respondents and 12,736 Syrian respondents, integrating cross-cultural quantitative findings within a rigorous statistical framework. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated model fit (χ²/df = 2.184; CFI = 0.947; TLI = 0.932; RMSEA = 0.041), while convergent validity indicated an AVE of 0.563 in Indonesia and 0.589 in Syria, with composite reliability values of 0.891 and 0.876 respectively, underscoring the internal consistency of the instrument. Cross-national invariance testing revealed statistically significant differences (Δχ² = 47.23; p < 0.001), with the mean score of Islamic moderation in Indonesia (M = 4.12; SD = 0.67) surpassing that of Syria (M = 3.84; SD = 0.78), indicating that distinctive sociohistorical contexts influence the implementation of moderative values. Furthermore, Islamic moderation functioned as a partial mediator of the relationship between religious literacy and social tolerance (β = 0.342; p < 0.001 for Indonesia; β = 0.287; p < 0.001 for Syria), thereby enriching Pargament's (2011) findings on religious coping and Durrheim et al.'s (2016) work on intergroup prejudice. The findings reveal that Islamic moderation encompasses cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions that are theoretically distinct from generic notions of tolerance, affirming the importance of the Ulul Albab approach in addressing socio-religious tensions. Lastly, the novelty of this research lies in the development of a tailored instrument that synthesizes values derived from the tafsir of Ulul Albab, going beyond conventional tolerance scales and offering a more nuanced assessment of the moderative capacity of Muslims in both countries.
